Background: I come from Sacramento, California where Vietnamese food is authentic, abundant, and $ 6 a bowl. I also learned how to make phở from scratch, the full 10 hour Monty with all the fixings. That being said… I truly appreciate Miss Saigon for being the most centrally located phở joint in Miami when I have last minute cravings. I live in the Grove and have travelled from Cutler Bay to Hollywood in search of something close to home. It may not taste as good as home, nor as good as Phở Vi in Hollywood, but I’m sacrificing that totally full-bodied/hearty/lip-licking flavor for Miss Saigon’s beefball phở. Which isn’t to say theirs isn’t yummy, but it’s lacking… something indescribable, but that makes me incredibly homesick. Also a neg, their noodles have not soaked long enough before they boil them with the broth. Instead, it comes as one semi-stuck together bunch that can be broken apart with a couple of chopstick pulls. Nonetheless, throw in some bean sprouts and jalapenos, and you’ll find my bowl completely empty in 30 minutes. Service is friendly, from non-Vietnamese staff dressed in budget Vietnamese traditional dresses, and they are always willing to accommodate my requests(so many extra limes, pleasee!). Parking is streetside along Giralda or in the garage on the corner about Graziano’s, and during the week, I’ve never had to wait for a table here.

One of the worst Vietnamese food I ate and it is from Miss Saigon Bistro. I am from SoCal(Vietnamese Bolsa Area). This restaurant would have been closed in couple months with the food they prepared. We ordered spring rolls, rice plate with meat and I added additional fried egg, egg rolls, and bún tôm tht. The Friend egg tastes like eating a sweet desert, their egg rolls are bah, and their spring roll dripping sauce tasted and have a favor like raw pork nasty, and their meat are where close to the cheapest restaurant in Bolsa California. Their price is ridiculously high. The only reason why I gave them a 2 stars is because of the ambience of the place. Their food is 1 Stars. You want decent Vietnamese food — go to Little Saigon at N. Miami street and less than half price.

I feel so bad for Miami if you think this is good authentic Vietnamese food. Based on the reviews, I had high hopes. I ordered the pork chop and rice. My rice was the mushiest rice ever. The pork was decent which is why I’m giving it a 2⁄5. My aunt had the phở and was not satisfied, probably one of the worst she had. Service was mediocre, my water was only filled after getting an attention of a staff member after 5 minutes. When I was in there, there was no Vietnamese or Asian people, I understand why.

Miss Saigon food is not very authentic. Their special phở has beef and chicken together… which I have never had in my entire life. Broth is not flavorful and vegetables are not fresh. I’m Vietnamese btw. Not sure about other dishes. I might give it another try but not sure if it’ll change my opinion.

This is hands down by far my favorite restaurant in coral gables and definately in my top 5 in miami. The service is outstanding no matter if its from the owner or the new young staff. Its pricey but they give you a very generous portion for what you pay for plus they’ll alqays bring you more of whatever you need with no extra charge. I always get the chicken seitan and it is sooo good you would have no idea its not chicken ! The man sitting next to us even asked for some and he was so impressed. This is always the first place on my mind when im craving food. Another plus? The food comes out quick ! It also has a great cozy atmosphere with comfortable seating. Im in love with this place

First time visitor while I was in Miami. Very good first impression. I had ordered the Miss Saigon fried rice and the crispy spring rolls. I see a lot of reviews for the Miss Saigon noodles, but I’m more of a rice guy myself rather than rice noodles. This restaurant was referred to me by some people I know. The fried rice was very flavorful. Being a meat eater, I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of chicken and what seemed to be Chinese pork sausage. The amount of shrimp was ok, but the quantity of the meat definitely made up for it. I love Chinese sausage as it has a bit of a sweet taste as well as the richness. It was not necessary, but the soy based sauce that was on the side was a nice complement to the dish. There was enough fried rice for two people definitely, but since I was hungry, I ate the whole thing. I cannot identify some of the herbs/spices in the dish, but the combination really worked well. I ordered it spicy so it had a bit of heat to it. I will definitely order this again the next time I’m in town. The spring rolls were fried at the correct temperature so the rolls did not absorb so much oil. Unfortunately, this is something many restaurants don’t get right. The flavors in the rolls were also nicely done and there did not seem to be a particular strong flavor. Everything just seemed to be in a nice balance. Could not ask for more!

I always come here on my lunch time, quick & great customer service. I always get the miss Saigon special chicken & shrimp with spring rolls. It’s healthy, taste delicious & fills you up. The waiters are super friendly & even mix the bowls for you if you’d like. Great experience with this place so far!

It gets really crowded for lunch and since I work close by I place my order to go, but the service is good. Never had a problem with the service when I eat in. 5 stars for sure.

Good for Phở and other classic Vietnamese dishes but not great. I took our Miami personal injury law firm’s Chief Operating Office there for lunch. He had never had Vietnamese food and be loved it. He had the salad with«fake shrimp» and I had the Chicken Phở with extra veggies. Two beers later, and it was $ 50.00. So bring your AMEX card, you’re going to need it. Service was a mix of a young and friendly staff(not Vietnamese or particularly knowledgeable about the food) and the owner who passed by frequently to ensure we were happy and we were. I’d go back but given the cost of the meal– for two simple entrees at a business lunch– not as often as I’d like.

So. We just walked by the place craving Miss Siagon being there before and were told they were closed when their hours were open till 10 it’s 9. I understand it’s Sunday and places aren’t open late but if your hours say open till 10 then that’s what consumers expect. The place was empty but business is business. Owning my own business I never shy away from the opportunity to make a consumer pleased. Pretty disappointed. Their claim was«they were cleaning the kitchen» which I took as the manager not being there and they wanted to leave.

I don’t know why I hadn’t tried this place before. Was looking for a place nearby for Beef Phở and Unilocal took me to this little restaurant. The service was quick during dinner time. The portions were big, as expected for Phở, and the broth was delicious! Loved the thinly sliced, tender beef as well. I’ve tried the Beef Phở in other local restaurants and so far this is my favorite. You know what else I loved? Their freshly squeezed lemonade! So rare to find nowadays even upon request. Yes, I will definitely be back, Miss Saigon.

Love this place! The food is authentic, subtle yet rich in flavor. The crash of cultures with the waiters are both humorous(Wearing Asian Kimonos, speaking Miami Slang/ebonics) and endearing(they really make an effort to try to do a good job, even if they seem a tad out of their element, their enthusiasm and desire to do a good job, make up for the lack of experience). Food-wise, excellent. I love their lemongrass everything. The Thai iced Tea was also pleasantly authentic.

the Saigon special is awesome. Prices are pretty good. Nice, romantic scenery. The food is all good, nothing astonishing, but just about everything is good.

This is one of my favorite places in Miami to have Vietnamese food. I have been coming here for years and it always hits the spot. My favorite dish –hands down– is the Miss Saigon rice noodle bowl which is a huge bowl of rice noodles, chicken, shrimp and crispy rolls. You can’t go wrong with it, just order it and you’ll thank me later. Another favorite dish is the caramelized pork with steamed rice and salad. Definitely delicious as well. If you want to end the meal with a bang you must try the Vietnamese coffee which arrives brewing in a bed of condensed milk, just awesome. Highly recommend it.

I can’t stay away from the miss saigon rice noodles with dark meat chicken and extra spring rolls! A must! The lemongrass noodles are also very good

Not our cup of tea, tried it because we saw some good reviews.. first. Service is terrible. When they did come all three of them came and asked the question the previous waiter did. Can I take your order, can I take your order, can I take your order. it got annoying and happened the whole time. Very disorganized. When we needed something like after sitting 25 minutes done with our food they just asked if we wanted the check. My husband says no we wanted dessert. No toilet paper in the bathroom, and a lady brought her dog inside… food was mediocre. Doughnuts were cold. How do you mess up Thai doughnuts? We won’t be back. Terrible customer service skills also. Ordered winter spring rolls= sent back because of the excess of mint or basil. Chicken ginger= husband hated the chicken, he said it tasted frozen. Sauce was good and rice was mushy Doughbuts = cold Update… we just left and we’re in line at mcdonalds…

Horrible. Had caramelized pork which was salty and the chicken clear noodles which was even saltier. What was worse was the service it was slow took 45 minutes to get our food and a swear they went around to service all the other customers before coming and giving us food, straight discrimination feeling in this place. Walk by the kitchen on the way to the restroom and be further horrified by how dirty it is wonder how its not closed by the health inspectors. Maybe if I said I was one or a food critic I would of got my food faster. I should of walked out ans away when I had the chance.

Excellent food full of light and satisfying flavors. I had the dish comprised of a bowl of room temperature noodles, vegetables, and hot dark meat chicken, shrimp, and spring rolls(as you can probably tell, the name of the dish eludes me). What a great combination of flavors and textures. The dark meat chicken was incredibly flavorful, and the highlight of the dish was the pieces of spring roll that had soaked up the broth. Mmmm. Frankly, the shrimp in the dish didn’t do too much for me, but a great dish all-in-all. Summer rolls were also light and tasty. My dining companion loved her green papaya salad — I tried a bite and thought it was quite good as well. Attentive service.

Welcome to the gables where the streets are cozy full of shops and restaurants but parking is metered and full. Luckily, there is a small lot right across the street from this restaurant that you can pay with credit or cash $ 1.50 and hour with a 3 hour max. I came here with a friend/Co worker for lunch today at 1145. Restaurant was empty. We each ordered the miss saigon noodle bowl thinking it had a broth like phở but it didnt. She sent hers back and I felt bad so just kept mine. It was good… they put veggies in mine instead of chicken and still put the 1 big shrimp in it. I also ordered the Thai iced tea which was yummy. Around 12, the restaurant started to get very busy and we couldn’t even get a refill on water. I actually wasn’t given water at all cause I ordered the other drink. I had my credit card on the table so I could get the bill because I felt bad th at people were in line to sit down and we were done. It took 10 minutes for someone to come take it. Another 10 minutes for them to come back with the receipt. English is their second language here which is fine since it is an Asian restaurant but service could be faster. Good food and authentic. You pay the coral gables pricing though. Just a few bucks above what any other thai/vietnamese restaurant would charge.

I dont know why this place has such good reviews. I got the vegetarian phở– it lacked flavor and all the veggies seemed canned. On top of that i found a dead fly in it. So grossed out. My friend got the chicken with mixed vegetables. The chicken was in a flavorless broth and also seemed like canned vegetables. Needless to say never going back.
