I’ve always come here for drinks, which I go more for the great service than anything else. The bartenders are so friendly; I have yet to go and not felt welcomed by them. The drinks are amazing and they have a variety of craft beers. The one time I tried the food I was in awe. I got the wings which from the description and my memory was wings covered in sausage and then fried. It was so good and so filling. The rest of the menu looked delicious but didn’t get a chance to try it because, hey student loans aren’t cheap and neither is the food here. Well worth it though if you are having a baller night and want to be around great people and good quality food at an awesome bar.

Traditionally this is a great place to get drinks, but we will get to that later because HOLYFRIEDCHICKEN. If you get nothing else, you’ll be glad you went for just this. I also tried the burger and the crab hush puppies, both were good. For brunch, a bunch of us went and ordered a few things on the menu to share. DELISH. Now about the drinks, their bar staff is great and helping you pick something delicious. I’ve read a few complaints about how their beer list is on a chalk board you have to walk up to instead of printed, but the thing is they chance the craft beer selection daily, so there’s really no other way. The entire menu and idea behind the restaurant is that it’s as «homemade» as it gets. If you pay attention you might even catch some of the kitchen staff walking out to their fruit and veggie cart to pick fresh items. Seriously, you can’t go wrong here. Enjoy!

I wanted to give this place five stars but it wasn’t quite there. Upon arrival, we had to wait 15 – 20 mins to get seated. The restaurant was some what busy but there were lots of empty tables for those who made reservations. We had to awkwardly wait by couples eating until a table cleared for us. Once seated, our waiter was very friendly and went over the menu with us. He recommended a fantastic IPA and the popular dishes. We ordered one snack plate, an appetizer and two other small plates, which we ate as our entrees. The food was delicious with great combinations and flavors, but for the $ 76 bill, I am not sure I would return due to the expense. Considering we are in Miami and it’s a gastropub, I guess it’s reasonable. We left satisfied but not full. Afterwards we headed to Ben and Jerry’s for dessert. Possible would return again.

Finally tried the bone marrow — it was good. Yes, it would have been much better if they didn’t put so much extra stuff on it — but I do understand that the Miamian’s palate is usually not as refined on these types of cuts and require a ton of extra crap to avoid tasting the real beauty for what it is. Would have been best simple and plain as-is. The canoe cut was a nice touch though — I’ll give them that! Fried Pork ribs — again way too much crap on my meat but this time not enough sauce. The ribs were fried to perfection though. I’d like this dish without all the relish type extra on it & definitely with a lot more sauce. Now let’s get on to the items I’d actually order again and again… Chicken and biscuits — WOW that dish was perfection at its best. The chicken was battered in delicious crispy fried goodness! The biscuit was a tiny bit spicy and just crumbly buttery and outright yummy! They outdid themselves with this dish. Oh and the pickles are amongst the best I’ve ever had! I could have eaten an entire bowl of these! Panna cotta with pomegranate seeds and biscuit crumble — holy moley this was beautiful to look at and delicious to devour. I couldn’t stop smiling as I ate this gooey goodness from foodie heaven! The pomegranate seeds added a fantastic texture to the Panna cotta. I would have never thought about pomegranate on Panna cotta but Heck YES — it works brilliantly! I will definitely be back for this + the Chix & biscuits. Woowoooweeewooo I am happy!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Miami. First, the restaurant either uses completely local ingredients or they make it in house from scratch. Second, they have a great beer and cocktail menu. Third, the menu changes seasonally so you get to come back and try something new. Fourth, the staff is friendly, knowledgable. Now, the food, the food is so delicious. It’s very rich but you cannot stop eating it. Burger, they have one on the menu and its because no other burger could compete, the cheese is made in house from scratch and fried into a croquet, brioche bun and bacon and brisket mix for the party. Try everything and share everything, enjoy the atmosphere and don’t listen to pricks who complain that they should have a printed beer menu instead of a reusable chalk menu… let’s not waste anymore resources with additional paper waste. :)

Grab some food to go or eat in, it’s up to you. Good range of hot and cold options and wine available to sample and buy if you fancy a glass with your food.

Cool little spot to hang with friends. Didn’t get to try the food but I’d go back for shishitos. We ordered 4 drinks off the cocktail menu each with a unique taste profile. They took a while to make which is a given with quality drinks. Our server Ali was great very knowledgable about the beers & super friendly. Had a great time & would recommend this place!

Excellent and unique cocktails and eclectic craft beer selection. My favorite drink had Gingerbread Molasses, Bitters and Brugal Anejo Rum. Want to go back and try their food as the menu looks great. On a side note, I can’t stand people who give a place like this a 1 star review because they had to wait too long at the bar. This is a mixologist bar where the drinks can take 5 – 10 minutes sometimes. There is an Ale House down the street if you don’t want to wait for quality.

This place lives up to its name. The entire menu supports the local community by using ingredients from local, farmers, bakers, and breweries. It’s perfect for small bites late at night or an amazing burger. My personal favorite is the craft cocktail menu. I’m a fan of experimenting with unusual ingredient in traditional cocktails. The bar tender is creative and uses ingredients like Monkey Shoulder scotch in some of his drinks. The Kitchen Sink Manhattan is finished with a brandy cherry that will be the best you’ve every had. I’ve been here 3 times, tried new drinks and food each time, and have never been disappointed yet.

It’s always nice when you find a new restaurant that you can instantly classify as one of your favorites… that is what what happened to me after my first visit here. First off the staff is amazing. Vee the manager is the best. She really goes out of her way to provide a truly top notch dining experience. The motif of the restaurant is really cool. You can tell that thought was put into every detail of the décor. I also really enjoyed the whole ambience. I went in for the Sunday brunch. They offered a nice variety on the brunch menu. For starters we had the egg in a basket and the disco fries. Both of these appetizers really blew my mind. All the cheeses and breads are made in house and are very fresh. They also make a spectacular gravy sauce. Also don’t forget to try the cheese whiz. As the main course I had the local burger. It is not on the menu but you can order it. Definitely one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The patty is made out of brisket and bacon. They put a nice chunk of cheddar and their homemade gravy sauce on it. Then they top it off with a perfectly made bun. They offer a wide selection of craft beers on tap, including my favorite(six point resin). They offer a happy hour from 4 – 7 everyday of the week and $ 25 unlimited mimosas for Sunday brunch. Overall I was very impressed and will be back soon and often.

The service is incredible and the food is exceptional. Especially the Steak Tartare, ham croquette and fried chicken. The Local is like a transplant to Miami from a great foodie town like Chicago, Kansas City, San Francisco, or New York.

I do not write a lot of one star reviews, but I believe if I never want to come back to a place then it should get one star. We went to The Local to try out the food for an event that was being planned. The place had a few covers and a couple of people at the bar when we got there. There was a couple in front of us and they were just standing there, there didn’t seem to be a host so we were not sure if to seat ourselves. The bar staff kept looking over at us, but didn’t say anything. eventually someone said something to the couple in front of us, we couldn’t hear it, but we assumed it was seat yourselves since the couple just went in and picked a spot so we followed. The atmosphere was nice enough the restaurant looked nice even though it was really cold in there. our waitress came over and explained where the drinks were on the menu and that the beers are on a chalkboard on the wall. I couldn’t see the beers so I had to stand up and go to the wall and take a picture for the table. Most tables cant see the beer menu, even the bar patrons would have to turn around to read the beer menu. Seriously just print it for the tables. When I came back to the table with my picture the waitress mention she was going to recommend I take a picture of it… seriously print it… at this point I asked which beers were dark beers our waitress had to go to the bar to ask, which in itself is not a big deal, but when my wife asked if they had hot tea she was not sure and had to go back, they do not btw. So I’m going to assume the waitress was new since she didn’t seem to know the menu. We ordered a couple of appetizers. The crab hushpuppies and the bread and butter. The hushpuppies were the best thing we had all night, they were really yummy, but had almost no crab in them. the bread and butter was fine but nothing special. For entrees we ordered the Burger, the Chicken and Dumplings, and the Beef Tartare. The Burger has a huge block of fried american cheese that destroyed this burger. You tasted nothing, but american cheese. it was just a heavy bomb and no one on the table could finish it. My wife ordered the chicken and dumplings and the little description didn’t tell us it was a soup with chicken and dumplings in it, maybe thats our fault, but we had no idea. It was a ton of cream and honestly forgettable. The beef tartar was the most successful entrée even though it had no salt at all we asked for salt&pepper to finish it off. For desert we had the flan which was good if not overly sweet. Overall, all three of us walked out completely disappointed and heavy from the burger cheese block… I don’t really see the need to go back.

I’ll admit it, I’m a pain in the ass to drink with. Mostly because I can never make up my mind and settle on a cocktail. I like to think that my indecisiveness is endearing rather than annoying because at least I own it. Well, maybe I’m kidding myself but at least people are still dining with me so I’ll take that as a win. Luckily for us, we had an awesome server who made the decision process much easier. We came in for dinner with a group of eight. When our server, Paul, came by and took drink orders, he was very knowledgeable about the different cocktails and was able to match each of us up with the perfect drink. I started off with a Sazarac, which came with a side of absinthe. OK, kind of different, but I wasn’t complaining. It was great! I followed that up with a Boulevardier before I switched to the chocolate stout they had on nitro. I was impressed that they had a few dark beers available. In my experience, they are not always easy to come by, especially in warm destinations. The cocktails were well balanced and delicious and I liked the beer options so I was already a fan. We all decided to share several dishes and, by the time we were done ordering, I think we ended up with most of the menu. Paul was great about helping us decide and we loved everything we tried. Everything was flavorful and delicious. Some standouts were the Shishito Peppers, Hen and Dumplings, Steak Tartare, and Braised Short Rib. So good! None of us could stop raving about this place. If only I lived nearby, I would be there all the time!

Once again I am completely satisfied! The food here is amazing and delicious. The selection of craft beers is always nice and diverse. The staff is always friendly, accommodating, and pleasant. This makes me keep coming time and again, especially since the chef makes a plant based dish for me. Tonight he made completely different dishes for my husband and me, which was an unexpected treat!

I finally made my way over to The Local after having it bookmarked for months. ProTip: Make a reservation during the weekend! I was happy to know I didn’t have to wait to be seated on a busy Saturday evening. My table was ready for me when I arrived. From my observation, there was only one server on the floor. A little strange for a Saturday evening at a busy restaurant, however, the rest of the staff was helpful. I started off with a drink, the Southern Belle. Yummy and refreshing! For an app, I ordered the Bread + Butter. When it arrived I wasn’t exactly impressed. The toast was hard and it all tasted very bland. However, the order of Fried Chicken Skins my friend suggested was delish! Mmm! I hope that stays on the menu, because it was by far my favorite item ordered. I came in craving a burger. I’d been craving a burger for three weeks, so I knew my entrée was set from the beginning. Once it arrived I was shocked to see how big it was! I really wish my friend and I had been told it’s size, because the both of us ordered the burger, even though it could’ve been easily split. The burger arrived topped with a block of fried cheese, which was incredibly overwhelming. As soon as I cut into my burger, the cheese overpowered any taste the burger could’ve had. You know that satisfying feeling of eating a really great burger? Didn’t happen. My friend pushed for dessert and so we ordered the oatmeal pie. Even though I was incredibly full, I took a bite of the pie and it was delicious. Overall, I’m stuck rating this somewhere between 3 or 3.5 stars. I went in expecting a lot, but it didn’t deliver. I may gave it another shot and check out the brunch menu one of these days though.

Delicious food. Quirky spot w friendly vibe. Menu changes, which I personally dig. Selection of charcuterie and cheese also a good trait. Vast selection of hand crafted beers on draught and bottled as well. Two thumbs up

I love it I love it I love! It does get packed pretty fast so try and come early depending on the day. I have been wanting to come to The Local for so long and I am happy that I finally came. For appetizers my family and I had the corn bread and I think we also had the chicken wings. As for a meal of course I got the burger and I’m happy that I did. If you cut into the middle of the burger the cheese melts and it’s just perfect. Of course I had a beer to go with my burger. I will love to come back soon to try more foods from the menu.

Out of this world — I don’t even use that expression normally. Came here anticipating decent food and a cool ambiance and it is so much more. I like wine and there’s a chalk board dedicated to it! I ordered a local white wine — I can’t remember the name of it. The wine was great and it seems like all the wines are. Our waitress explained that all items on the menu can change weekly including the wine and beer selection. We ordered the bread and butter appetizer with the fried chicken entrée. The names are simple and do not come to close to conveying how delicious the food truly is. My favorite part of the corn bread appetizer was the toasted zucchini bread. And the entire fried chicken entrée was delicious. If it weren’t impolite to lick a plate I would have. I never knew fried chicken could be that flavorful. Next time I would like to try the Game of Thrones three eyed raven beer! Hopefully they don’t take it off the menu. The service, food, and ambiance were incredible! Bianca was an awesome waitress!

Ahh what can I say– I was pretty excited to come here from all the good Unilocal reviews, but I guess everyone has their bad days. We stopped by here for a late lunch before doing some work at Pasion del Cielo around the corner. We ordered the beef jerky for an appetizer. I can’t even lie, the beef jerky was pretty good and probably the highlight of our meal. Next up was the boiled peanuts, looking slightly burnt. It tasted like overcooked and spoiled peanuts– you know like the kind of peanuts that they sell at gas stations that soak up and sit out all day. I ordered the duck and grits, which sounded appetizing enough. The duck was in big, round pieces. It was hard to cut and I was starting to think it wasn’t even edible. But after much working sawing through the piece of duck meat, I finally got to try it. It was the chewiest piece of duck I have ever tasted. It tasted like I was just chewing on hard cartilage. The grits tasted okay– it had a very strong taste of olives that I didn’t like. Eager to try a more palate pleasing food, I tried the pulled hen & buttermilk dumplings. One sip was enough, it was extremely salty. Service was lacking. There were only about two other tables of customers at the restaurant, even with that, our waiter wasn’t paying much attention. He was busy talking with the bartenders. I’m usually a happy camper when it comes to dining out(you can tell by my reviews), but unfortunately, this place fell short.
