i went last week for a comedy show, and two of the four comedians were hysterical. At first, it was a bit awkward because it was very quiet, but I just think that was due to the crowd(they were quite boring). I didn’t eat so I can’t say anything about the food, but I did have one glass of wine, which was overpriced and pretty crappy. But we had a great time, and I look forward to more comedy there!

We came for a holiday party– they had appetizers coming to the table. Some chicken wings, which were average. The pizza reminded me of those cheap store bought frozen pizzas. They had a bizarre«charcuterie» plate that wasn’t that great. When we first got there it was pretty empty, karaōke was going on. It was Latin night and it got A LOT better as the night progressed, we definitely enjoyed ourselves. They had a live band that was supposed to play at 11pm but started playing closer to 1am. Once they started the show, we left. Weren’t that great.

I had the company party here. It was kareoke night, which was fun. The stage is big and a lot of people got on it the dance floor is also big, but I have a feeling that if it wasn’t for the people in my company that place would of been kind of empty. Also, the drinks were kind of expensive and the gratuity was included, I’m not sure if it’s normally like that or if it was for the event but that bothered me. Also the DJ was not the best, they played very old school Spanish music. And the kareoke was right out of YouTube which was very obvious to everyone and it seemed kind of unprofessional. I liked that they have tables outside and the lamp is very pretty as well.

Pretty cool spot, open, with a lot of seating. I felt the service was lacking though… I had to flag down my server several times to get a refill.

Great little spot for drinks & entertainment, just make sure you eat elsewhere before or after. How in the world they call themselves a Gastropub is unknown to me or anyone else who sat at our table.

Went to watch my boyfriend perform on Monday night for the Monday Jazz performances hosted by the Miami Jazz Co Op., which is a non profit organization that helps to support live Jazz in our community. They charge a $ 10 cover, or entertainment fee at the door, which I would NEVER mind paying because it goes to support these amazing artists and performers. This was my first time in this venue and I was pleasantly surprised. It is located in a beautiful area of Coral Gables. The venue is very spacious and open with a large stage and plenty of seating. I was immediately greeted by a sweet and friendly bartender/waitress who helped me in choosing a glass of wine. There were two bartenders who were both very helpful and friendly girls. I also met the owner who was nice as well. I would def recommend this club on Monday if you are a jazz lover.

If you have no expectations, no taste in music or a stomach made out of iron, then this is the right place for you. While the freak show in Coney Island has been banned, it’s alive and well at this venue. Stopped by– upon a friend’s suggestion– on a Monday night and were forced to pay $ 10 each upon entry to witness a guy on a dingy keyboard, a cruiseship type of drummer and two other elderly citizens gimping on stage, desperately trying to make something happen. It’s clear that no money is spent here on entertainment, or service for that matter as it took forever to get a simple beer. It must all be spent on the food. Wrong… but luckily there is pepto bismol and Fritz & Franz nextdoor which saved the evening.

I came here with one of my meetup groups for Nite School — an event where you are presented with some great information and you leave having learned some skill. On this particular night the subjects were BDSM and surviving the Zombie Apocalypse. Pretty cool huh? I had never been to this venue but had heard some cool things so I was excited to learn the event was being held here. The space is nice and open with a great stage up front. On Mondays they play jazz which I will have to check out for sure. They have a full bar and a 2 for 1 Happy Hour. The drinks were good(I had the Cab) and although I did not order food, they did have a pretty extensive menu with varied lite bites. From reading the Unilocal reviews, people were not thrilled with the food but I can’t speak to that. I will however order something the next time around. The bartenders who also doubled as our servers were great. Very friendly and accomodating. They lowerd the shades when the afternoon sun was blinding us and they made sure to speak softly and bend down as much as possible when they would come around during the presentations. This is in the Gables so there is plenty of parking everywhere — garages and street parking.

I am forced to rewrite my review because the SUPPORTTEAM at Unilocal determined that my review was not«Primarily Relevant» to a consumer experience and removed it.(sorry not relevant) I can speak for my experience and that of the three other members of my party that attended the Rat Pack Show at Open Stage with me. I believe that our experience is relevant to our review. Who’s experience other then our own are we going to draw from? We bought our tickets to the show on Living Social. We confirmed our attendance weeks prior to the event. When we arrived they only had us down for a party of two instead of four as requested. No problem they cordially took care of us and got us a table for four with very little fuss or wait. The staff was pleasant but a little slow in service after ordering our cocktails. The drinks were fine. We didn’t eat, we were there for the show not the food. I believe what is pertinent to this review is what we were there for The Rat Pack Show. We are not professional show critics we’re only the patrons who spend the money at the shows. Our observation of the show was that the performers were not professional and lacking talent. Their attempt at humor was dismal. We could have accepted the pre show antics if only the singing and character performances were entertaining. We did not enjoy the show and left early.

Who doesn’t like to eat good food, have a few drinks and then perform and sing the night away? That’s exactly what you can do with my friends over at Open Stage Club. This Coral Gables gastropub is very different from what you are used to. Besides having a full bar and kitchen they are also an upscale karaōke restaurant. Their mission over at Open Stage Club is to enable exploration, help artists grow and find their motivation to perform on stage. But you don’t have to be a super professional to join in on the fun! What I like about Open Stage Club is you can first make a reservation for their restaurant, so you can sit down eat a few appetizers and have a few drinks to really get you pumped to perform. When it comes to food head chef Nitza Mendoza really knows what she is doing. I highly recommend you try Nelly’s empanadas, a homemade recipe straight from abuela’s kitchen. Then you have to try the Coral Gables ceviche, which has the perfect touch of bitterness with a hint of sweetness from the corn they add into the mix. If you want something a bit more filling then you have to order the fiocchi with four cheese pasta plate. What makes this dish a bit different is that they fill the pasta with pear, so when you mix the flavors from the sweet pear and the four cheeses it truly is a heavenly experience. When it comes to drinks I think if you have a two or three Cocorita’s, which is essentially a margarita with coconut vodka, then you will be totally set to take on the stage and rock out to your favorite Britteny Spears song!

1 star for location 2 stars for featuring the Miami Jazz Coop Monday night with fantastic music!($ 10 donation for entry) To start, this place should remove all food from menu and stay as a bar. The food is terrible! I ordered fries that came out cold and a shrimp cocktail that was serves 20 minutes after, when it was supposed to be my meal. Every time the waitress came by I would ask about them and she would say«they’re coming.» Well at least I thought they would be good. Not at all. Want rubbery shrimp? Order it here. They tried to garnish it but morning could hide the horrible taste. In my party we also ordered the grill chicken which was also cold and rubbery. The quality of the food here to be located in Coral Gables is embarrassing. Now I know why most people stuck to drinks only. They had one waitress that was all over the place and thought ginger beer was a substitute for ginger ale, not at all. I’m still waiting for my drink refill and ketchup for my fries. I don’t ever like to write bad reviews but if it weren’t for the music, they would have gotten 1 star.

Let me start this review by stating i attended the Frank Sinatra, Rat Pack tribute show they had on a Sunday. I came with a group of girlfriends, all late 20s, through a living social deal. As a fan of this era of music it pains me to have to write the following review. The venue layout was clean and cozy. Parking is ample. A good mature crowd. It does take forever to get drinks(a glass of water included a wait time of 44 minutes) and food. The servers are friendly but it seems like they are severly understaffed. I did not have any dinner but my friends did and they said the food was not great(flavorless, bland, etc). **the music: the band was great. The musicians were pretty tuned and in sync. The lighting and stage area were set up so it can be viewed from the entire room. The singers… oh the singers. It seems there was a technical difficulty with one of the microphones, and the sound guy had either the bands mics too loud or the singers too loud at times. The singers… the music selected were known favorites so that was good. The jokes in between and interaction between«the rat pack» was forced and demonstrated 0 chemistry. The Dean Martin singer was animated but i did not care for his singing, nor did a few people in the crowd, i could tell by their grimancing. The Marilyn Monroe singer did fair, she was sultry and sang like her. The Frank Sinatra singer was fair also, its not easy singing like old blue eyes and there were definitely songs were he shined… but was overshadow by Dean Martins bad vocals. The Sammy Davis Jr singer did very well and might be consider the star of the foursome in this venue. I am not a singer or performer but have studied music in the past and understand music. Its hard to get up and perform music which is not your own but i have to say that i had higher expectations for this event and so may have the people who left early. However, i encourage those sinatra fans to try it out for yourself.

This spot has so much potential… no idea why my experience was so bad but here goes. they appear to be understaffed, spent the whole night chasing down the waitress. Ordered the slider and while they were ok in flavor, they were small and not that special. the french fries were pretty good but greesy. overall dont think i will be going back

This place is just superb! The environment is nice and intimate. I was sitting towards the back and I still could see the comedians face as if I was sitting closer to the stage. I was there for a Unilocal event & I was not disappointed. I got a free drink & the bartender was generous ;-). I found the food to be delicious, and if you ask anyone that knows who I am, I am a very picky eater. I had steak & tempura shrimp. Both cooked to my liking. I don’t get what other reviews say about the food, it looked like others who ordered were enjoying the food as well. The service from the waitress was fast and friendly. As to the directions to the place, it was actually very easy to get there with a parking lot right next to the building. I hate paying for parking but this is Miami so I am used to that. Over all this was a great place that’s definitely worth coming to any day of the week :-)

The venue is great, layout is fun easy on the eyes, and has awesome potential. I had a Margarita with their well tequila and it was very good, not watered down, and not over done with sour mix, and the size was decent. The food wasn’t good. We had the Sliders cost $ 12.00 considered an appetizer and brings 3 Sliders with Fries. The fries were yummy, crispy and not to greesy and a generous portion for being a side compliment. As for the Sliders, they used half the breads of regular sized burger buns with a small half dollar sized patty, it didn’t make sense to me if they’re using the slider sized patties not to use the matching sized buns(for presentation you know), the meat was over cooked(they didn’t ask for preference) therefore super dry and dense to chew, the condiments were good I liked the cheese, tomatoes, and lettuce with spicy mayo that was excellent for Sliders, but the over cooked meat made them edible but not enjoyable. We also had the Crab Cake, the dish is $ 14.00 as an appetizer, and I concluded it was over priced for what was served. We got two 2.5 inch patties that were breaded and baked, the texture was good but the baked bread crumbs made it fairly dry and you couldn’t taste the Crab at all, they garnished the dish with a little bit of guacamole that was good and had they put more it would have evened out the dryness of the baked crumbs. That sums up our food experience. Service was good, our server tried her best, but it was a packed house, so several times we waited for her and got up to look for her. I really loved the place and the fact that it’s a smaller scale comedy club, live music, and karaōke venue, which can be a lot of fun. I hope they can begin to execute the food better, and really do wish them well, because the overall idea of the venue is one that I would for sure return to. In the mean time stop by for drinks and laughs on the Have Not Comedy clubs, or some musical entertainment on live band nights.

Came for a night of Have Nots Comedy. Headliner was pretty funny the night we were there. Food was average, as well as the service. Would try to come again for a well known headliner. Venue is spacious, not really a bad seat. Parking garage next to club, not sure if they validate the ticket or not, but street parking is pretty easy as well.

Food was terrible. $ 17 for a chicken breast that was dry, on mashed potatoes… Literally a meal that cost them less than $ 3.00 to make and I am being generous with 3.00… its probably closer to 2.00 if you saw the serving size. No silverware was brought out until I asked a manager well after our food was brought… even though I asked the server twice. The comedy show was crap. The headliner was the only person even worth listening to and he didn’t even have a skit, it was just him talking to the crowd and asking where they were from. Funniest part was how every comedian that went up made fun of the fact that the VIP section didn’t have drinks because the server was so slow… one comedian actually took her drink and gave it to the VIP table. The server left and was gone for 30 – 40 minutes at a time. I would have drank more than 1 beer, but I couldn’t reorder even if I wanted to. She didn’t refill the water on the table until we got up and found her and asked her. this is probably an hour and a half in to the show… and when a dirty martini was ordered, she brought a rocks glass with just grey goose in it and was dumbfounded when she was told that wasn’t a dirty martini. After a point you could tell she was not a fan of doing her job and didn’t want to even make an appearance at our table. My patience level in a restaurant is probably 10x more than the average person… and this place tested it within the first 20 minutes. The place has a cool layout, and the stage is nice… but the place is ran horribly, with a staff filled with untrained people that could care less about being there. I wouldn’t recommend going here unless you like to find the lower rated places I attend and see for yourself if my reviews are spot on… cause trust me… if you actually like service at a restaurant… stay away from this dump. It literally is in the top 5 worst restaurant experiences I have had in my life… and that says a lot…

A friend has an extra free ticket to the Have Nots stand up comedy show and offer it to me to join their group. The décor is oddly designed like a round ball test tube. lol. The food was ok, nothing to rave about. The drinks were watered down or too fruity to taste any alcohol. service was good but the servers looked tired and confused half the time. The girl bartender was very attentive. The comedy show was ok. the main act was funny but not crazy funny. prime burger(med)(3⁄5) it was bland seafood salad(3.5) it was fresh but no favor sauteed mushroom(0⁄5) ok $ 6 for one mushroom cap sliced in 4 pieces… really… that was a rip off… overal(1.5÷5) I would of gave it 2.5 stars but the sauteed mushroom left a undesirable distaste in my wallet. One star for the lady bartender and the main act.
