While our previous experiences at Morton’s were pretty decent, this last visit explained why they were empty but their neighbor restaurant had a 45 minute wait. To start, we ordered the tuna starter, which was delicious. It was so good, we decided to order another one. It took so long that we had to cancel it because it hadn’t arrived by the time our main order arrived. We all ordered the warm steak salad and it was very much lacking in the steak amount and variety of vegetables. The dressing was also just ok. It just wasn’t something you’d expect from a pricey salad at Morton’s. The manager at the time tried to remedy the situation since the service took forever as well(considering we were 1 of 3 parties in the entire restaurant) but even the free dessert he offered took forever to arrive. I’m just not sure it’s worth a trip back. We’ll see.

I’ve eaten here a few times before, and on each of those occasions the service and the food were good, but this time was just disgusting; as soon as I walked in, one of the waiters wiped his mouth with the open palm of his hand as he was serving customers. This is just unsanitary. If a waiter who handles patrons food/dishes is out on the floor serving, you expect better(i.e. sanitary practices). When you are paying the amount of money that you do in an establishment like this, you certainly would not expect the employees to engage in any of the unsanitary practices as you would see in a fast food chain.

I met my friend at the bar tonight for a nice pre-Christmas dinner. Unfortunately, there was a party of 14 at a hightop table Screaming and DRUNK. I asked the bartender if the screaming and loud noise was a regular thing at this MORTON’s. He assured me it wasn’t but they had reserved a table for 14 by the bar so they could smoke outside from time to time. I think they would have been better off in the private rooms upstairs which were completely empty. Bad planning Morton’s.

Service and food leave much to be desired! We came the Tuesday before Christmas and the service was very inconsistent, not what we are used to. The food was ok, but again… could have been better. We had a hard time getting the waitress’s attention for additional drinks etc. I guess we got them on a bad night. When it came time to order dessert the waitress informed us that several items took more than 30 minutes to prepare. Just wondering, why didn’t she tell us that earlier?

We love this Morton’s much better than the one on Brickell ! More personable staff, the food is on point! My crab cakes were delicious and perfectly cooked & lots of crab in them! Rob was our server and was very attentive & so helpful

It’s a shame but MORTON’S are just not all great. Sure this place is good. The service is very good, the wine list– but I am there for the steak. I and all my friends ordered the prix fixe menu lunch. Not a bad deal for $ 29 or $ 39 – I cannot remember; but it comes with salad, steak and desert. It’s just that my steak was fatty and not cooked right and– just not great. My companion who had never been to a MORTON’S thought it was amazing. I am spoiled– since I remember when a Morton’s steak was in a league of its own. This Morton’s is more like a fancy chain restaurant. To be fair, my steak was a ribeye cut; and not the filet mignon that I like– and that was recommended by the waiter. I’ll try that this week and update my review. The salad was huge, but too much dressing and sloppy presentation. The wine was a cab called Layer Cake that I loved. And as a cigar smoker– outside is a perfect setting. For that reason alone I added a star.

Came for a business meeting and they refused to bring me iced tea because that was not on the fixed menu for today. Enough said! You considered yourself high end and you are hosting 60 local business people… I suggest you get the iced tea! Also, ordered Swiss cheese for my burger and got blue cheese. The burger was overlooked and the servers were rude. Will not be going back needless to say! UPDATE– I went back to give it another shot for a co-workers birthday. We had a great time. The server was professional and attentive. The steak was on par. Let’s hope their lunch crew can keep up!

The food? 10⁄10 The service? 10⁄10 But more importantly… A special thank you to Barbie at the front desk for accommodating to my mother. Prior to arriving at the restaurant my mother had agitated her lower spine again such that pain was arching up her back across her nerves. Upon arriving my mother requested a plastic bag with some ice in it for the pain. Barbie acknowledged the request, offered us a booth, reconsidered her decision and instead gave us a table with chairs to make it easier for Mom to sit. Within 30 seconds of being seated a well sized, ice-filled plastic bag was presented. I think I may sensed the displeasure of another waiter who I quickly surmised was supposed to cover that booth yet Barbie chose the customer over the business by giving us a more ergonomic table/chair format My apologies to whoever was suppose to get that tables tip. That is hard to find in Miami. Most people would rather rush things along. Credit to Mortons of Coral Gables for the subtle but powerful difference.

$ 320.00 for lunch party of three. Extremely overpriced and over rated better to head to Capital Grille much much better. The $ 66.00 bone in steak was below average the mashed potatoes are plain, the bread hard and the salad boring. While Capital Grille is by far much better there are other choices in Coral Gables; Hillstone, Seasons 52, Brick and Ruth Chris. Morton’s was a total disappointment and I would never return there or recommend it to anyone it’s just the name that pulls people then disappoints them!

This steakhouse used to be top notch, however something has happened in the last two years. The quality has declined, the steak is no longer top quality. However, the biggest disappointment is the staff. Especially at the bar area. Incompetent to say the least.

Been here many times over the years but have stayed away due to large option of steakhouses in the Gables. Miami spice drew us back for a taste and while the food was very good, the service is no longer consistent and the allure of a top notch restaurant is gone. We sat across from the kitchen and it was disturbing to see boxes of meat being unpacked and frozen meat being pulled from plastic bags and placed into ovens. Although this kinda thing may be normal, I don’t want to see it. The window where the food was being prepared was being assisted by a blond older woman who was placing garnish on finished plates with her hands no gloves, again don’t want to see that. The chefs/cooks were placing bags trays utensils boxes next to prepared plates ready to be served. I expect that at outback not here.

Good food, excellent fillet mignon. Service superb, then again I only ask for Dino to be my waiter. Dino has being with Morton’s for 7 years and he always makes you feel like a king. With a reservations there is almost no waiting time. Highly recommend. Desserts are good, ambiance is relax and great for conversation.

For a «higher end» steakhouse, this place sucks. This is our 2nd time here. We thought we would give it a second chance despite the first time the steak was not very good. It was not better this time around. I think they hire some of their staff from McDonalds of something. They just are not very smart or appropriate when dealing with customers First, the host could not validate our Open Table reservation, said he didn’t know how and would DEFINETLY take care of it before we left. It never got done. We had to contact Open Table ourselves and submit a copy of the receipt. If we didn’t it would count as a no show and if you get 3 no shows on Open Table reservations in a year they kick you out. Secondly, the waitress was just not friendly, like someone had a gun to her head and making her work there. She kind of rude when my wife told her she wanted her steak well done. Waitress was insisting her not to do it that way. My wife says, that’s how I like it. Instead of saying, yes, she would argue with her that it will come out charred. My wife says, well done doesn’t mean charred and that she’s had it like that at many steakhouses with no problem. My wife had ordered the appetizer, a lobster bisque. Super salty. There may have been a shred of piece of lobster in it. She eats it because she is hungry, but again, disapointed. I swear the lobster bisque at Red Lobster is better. Finally, her steak comes out and it is bloody. We show the waitress it is bloody and not well done. Cue to manager coming over. Manager comes over and says, so what would you like to do? Doesn’t take a brain surgeon to say, «we are sorry, I will get a steak refired for you immediately», instead he keeps asking what we would like to do while my wife keeps telling him I just wanted my steak well done and that she was not happy that I was eating and she was not. It was ridiculous. Finally I stepped in to tell him, «I think she is telling you that she wants a new steak but is upset because now we each have to eat alone.» So as we wait, we can see the cook in the kitchen from where we are. He’s some young kid cooking the steaks while he has earbuds in his ears. Really? Is this Denny’s? So, here we are at an expensive steakhouse and we have to eat dinner separately because she had to send hers back to be redone while I ate alone. To their credit, they did finally take her steak off the bill but if I want an outback quality experience, I’ll go there. When I pay $ 50.00 for a steak, I want an experienced waiter who is accommodating, not argumentative, and a chef or at least a culinary professional, not some kid who cooks my steak while listening to his Ipod. From now on, I go to Flemings steak house right down the street. Much different experience all together. You feel like a VIP for the same price. We didn’t go there because it opens at 5PM on the weekends and we ate a late lunch. Bye Bye Mortons.

This is our experience at Morton’s in Coral Gables for the 2015 Valentine’s celebration and my wife’s Birthday dinner. Thank You Morton’s for the lousy night. My wife’s $ 60 steak was undercooked. — Our $ 500 dinner was the worst dining experience ever… No birthday wishes given. Crowded. Kids screaming. Lousy service. Dinner took forever. The manager told my wife that he was sorry and that he wanted us to return for a complimentary dinner to make up for the disappointing dining experience. He informed that he would send a letter in the mail. Well, We haven’t moved. He never called back. And my mailman still works. Bottom line. He as a manager at Morton’s. What a joke… Very unprofessional. Not only we would never dine there again, we will definetly spread the word about the lousy service and the management staff. Will never dine at any Morton’s again.

Always an awesome dining experience when we visit. Food, staff, and ambiance are above my expectations – and they are high. Can’t wait to visit again. Also, Dino is the best waiter EVER!

I’m huge on steak houses, but I will say Morton’s isn’t anything out of this world. It’s decent. We went during Miami Spice. Though the deal is what they offer, quality should not be diminished because of the promotion. The service wasn’t the best the last time I dined here. The server wasn’t the best, but did the best she could. She forgot the wine we ordered two times when we reminded her. She barely came by to check up on our table, and see how we were doing. I sometimes play a game to «test» how good service is: if my water glass is empty and never gets refilled, service is poor. Service was poor. The chef did well. My filet was cooked perfectly. The corn side dish was good, accompanied with pancetta. The lyonnaise was nothing memorable and the home made fried onions felt like an after thought. Crème brûlée was okay. Overall, I am not so impressed, but would say for the price you pay and a local steak restaurant, it’s A-OK.

More like 3.5 stars. I have been to this location several times usually for christmas parties but the last time I went was for my birthday and I had such a great experience that I decided to finally wrote a review. I came on a Friday during lunch time and the restaurant was full but we did not have to wait to be seated which was great. We were seated at a booth which was much more comfortable compared to the tables. I ordered from the 3 course lunch menu which was great for $ 30. Any other time I think it’s a bit over priced. I ordered the lobster bisque as my appetizer which to my surprise had large chunks of lobster in it so yummy! As for my entrée I had the jumbo crab stuffed shrimp and pasta which was to die for and yes, I know what you are thinking no steak at a steak house but I always order steak so I figured another year older another dish checked off my to try list. As for dessert I ordered the cheesecake which was okay but they brought me out another cheese cake with a caramel crust and fresh berries on the side which was amazing. Service was excellent as usual. Morton’s isn’t my first go to spot in the Gables but I will say every time i’ve gone it has been a great experience.

I came here for a girls night out with my coworkers to enjoy Miami Spice. I have to say the Miami Spice menu is a really good deal v. the regular menu — they include the 6oz filet, and for $ 2 less than the regular price of $ 41 you get an additional small side, an appetizer soup or salad, and a dessert. The good: + The Lemon Drop Martini — to die for. + The wine list — while I had something the waiter recommended that was delicious, even the house wine here is good. + The service — impeccable. Our server, Frank, was incredibly attentive, informative, and fun. If you give this place a shot, I would definitely ask for him. + The bread — delicious onion bread with the lightest butter in the world. I could’ve had the whole loaf. Usually if the free stuff is tasty, it’s a good sign of what’s to come. The meh: + My filet — while it was cooked perfectly, and the meat was high quality, it was clear they hadn’t seasoned it at all. I had to throw quite a bit of salt on it to give it what was missing. For a steak that usually costs $ 41, that shouldn’t be the case. + The Lyonnaise Potatoes — these are like breakfast home fries. I don’t understand the inclusion of this item on this type of menu. Doesn’t really go with a nice steak. + The Chopped Salad — good, but nothing special. + Escargot — well cooked, but needed more flavor as well. A little bit of garlic could’ve gone a long way here. The meal overall was good, but I wouldn’t say that I was really impressed by anything. I would come back, but probably only for their bar/lounge happy hour. I’ve done that in the past and the drinks are solid, and the happy hour bites, from what I can remember, are really good.

Went to Morton’s to try their Miami Spice menu. Although their options are not that remarkable I must say my options weren’t bad at all. The crab stuffed shrimp were very good and the crème brûlée was excellent! Although the food was good, it’s not a place I’m a fan of.
