I hate to say it but the business practice for such a popular place to grab a sub is awful. 2 women working who make sandwiches slower than molasses are the only ones working on a Saturday afternoon. The main sandwich maker looks terrified as though it’s her first shift. The other woman had to abandon sandwich making to ring up the line of customers that formed. Awesome sandwiches… but I’ll just stick to Publix from now on.

I have been buying from this store for 9 years and never had a bad experience. The girls are fabulous and always have a smile on there face. They are polite, efficient and just plain nice. I enjoy going there for my meals. Arie is super!, Elsa is a gem, Wendy is very cordial, Emmy is a doll and all of the rest of the staff are very welcoming. Sammy…you have a fantastic staff. keep up the good work. And praise your employees, they are worth it! Lupe-:)))

The beer selection is really good. However, the ‘deli’ is a logistical nightmare. If you go at lunch, here’s a tip because no one will tell you: take the note pad and write ur order down and then put it infront of their face. There is no order to it and frankly they don’t talk to you. The employees just talk to each other whenever they want in Spanish. They are really rude and basically don’t even make eye contact. I go here a lot because I work near by. I can’t do it anymore. Today there were four employees behind the counter, no one was wearing gloves, the store was empty and basically I just stood there until they finished their conversation. There is a guy that’s there who frequently stocks the shelves and I think he is the owner which is insane because he is looking at them and really doesn’t care. The quality of the food: it’s just ok. It’s a sandwich that takes a long time with a side of rude. I’m not buying food here again.

One of my co-workers recommended this place to me for lunch and I’ll admit that I was pretty skeptical about it at first. Stop-n-Shop has salads and sandwiches? Oh yea they do! They use Boar’s Head too! The large salad is huge and delicious. All of the ingredients are fresh and they have a ton of toppings that you can choose from. Cranberries, almonds, walnuts, apples, roast beef, turkey, various cheeses, croutons, tuna, carrots… you get the picture. And the prices are reasonable as well, especially compared to some of the other lunch options in Coral Gables. And although no one can beat a Publix sub, the subs here are fresh and worth a shot if you’re in the area.

Cheap beer and cheap wine. A good place to get a Boar’s Head sandwich when you are trying to sober up. Not surprisingly, the workers there understand when you stumble in a little tipsy(not saying that I have).

Pretty decent selection of beers and wines. Moderately priced and really close to campus.

Place has a huge selection of micro-brewing companies with as many flavors as you can possibly dream up. Oh yeah, and it also acts as your typical convenience store too lol.

If I had only known about Stop N’ Shop’s beer selection when I was a student at UM, then again my knowledge of beer revolved around Yuengling and an Eclipse(Blue Moon and Guinness combination) when I wanted to get fancy, so to not kid anyone, I was unworthy. Fast forward to a much wiser and much more knowledgeable beer person, I walked in to the best convenience store in Miami. The beer selection is top notch with beers from San Diego’s craft scene such as Ballast Point, Green Flash, and Mission; and a good selection of Cigar City and Belgians to name others. I ended up going with the usual Cigar City Jai Alai, but not before looking long and hard at the Ballast Point Victory at Sea Vanilla Porter. As I was about to get in line, I started a conversation with the employee and found out that he was knowledgeable on his beer. It is always good when the knowledge matches the product they sell at a store. Another positive is this place is open later than any other craft beer stores in the area. Back to my experience, I go to pay and my Jai Alai was sold to me at a premium. $ 13.99 to be exact. I understand why they have the premium and even with the premium, Stop N’ Shop won my heart.

looks like I posted on the wrong business it was an honest mistake. I want to say I’ve never been here, but love reading the reviews. With this said I will b e more careful in my reviews.

This is not a typical convenience store. They carry by far the best selection of craft beers in the city. They have at least two aisles of just craft beers. In addition, the deli is also very good. If you are craving a Cuban sandwich late at night this is a great place to go. My favorite thing that they have there are the guava pastelitos which are amazing. They don’t make that many of them everyday and they are always gone by night time. A few other things I liked are the fact that they carry Chex Mix Muddie Buddies and Chex Mix Cookies and Cream. I have been to CVS’ and I have never been able to find Chex Mix Muddie Buddies. Something else that they carry that I have a hard time finding at bigger convenience stores are the Red Barron single cheese pizzas. Most other convenience stores I have been to carry only the pepperoni. This Stop and Shop is the only place that I have seen carry cheese. They also have a great cherry frozen beverage. One of my biggest disappointments at other convenience stores is when I see a red frozen beverage machine only to learn that the flavor is raspberry or water melon. The Stop and Shop is head and shoulders above other shops of its kind because of the selection. The things they carry that not many other stores do carry.

This place is amazing! Amazing selection of beers, not to mention every other beverage you could think of. Perfect place to pick up any last minute things. On top of the excellent selection of products, the subs and salads available are great! All in all, it is definitely a place to check.

Uh, All of the other reviews were obviously written by the store. The place sucks. It was much better when it was a 7 – 11. The staff are rude and not friendly. Are we all talking about the same store? If you want a great selection of beers go to Milam’s down the road; and get treated like a human.

Wow! That’s right, wow! I have never seen so much craft beer in one place as in this Stop N’ Shop convenience store. The most complete collection of Cigar City Brewery, Shipyard Brewery, Anchor Brewery and a bunch more that I can’t even recall. Also, a huge collection of Belgian Abbey style beer, and I mean huge. Next to these beers you can find all types of craft beers, from the tiny breweries you’ve never heard of to the big boys in the industry. Add to this 6 or 7 fridges full of cold American, Mexican and European beer and you have a tiny place with an impressive assortment of beer. I would like to give a word of caution though. If you are new to craft beer, find out what you want before you walk in and ask for help, for the following reasons. First, there is no pattern to the madness when it comes to the organization, and this is a trend when it comes to craft beer, no matter what store you go to. You will be overwhelmed. Second, there is not a lot of space at this convenience store and there are always boxes around since they incessantly keep filling the shelves. That said, coming to Stop N’ Shop beats having to order your beer on-line, and you have the added bonus of picking up a new brew on-site. If you are a beer lover, you probably don’t mind looking at shelves and shelves full of beer. Cheers!

Dear Stop N’ Shop, I have searched this entire city for Orange Blossom Pilsner, the ENTIRE. CITY. I have found it at a handful of restaurants(Gigi, Smoke’t, DRB), but nowhere, and I mean, nowhere, sells it in 6-packs. EXCEPT for you, you hidden palace of craft beer. Your selection is varied and vast and Friday nights have forever been improved by the tradition of browsing your aisles picking out something new. Thank you for serving Boar’s Head sandwiches from such an unassuming space. You even carry sushi. Let’s just say«Good things come in small packages» should be emblazoned on your store front in bright obnoxious neon lights. Thank you, Caro d.

I’ve been frequenting this place since way before the current owership ran the show. Many of of cashiers were kept when the current owner bought the place in 2006 so there’s always a friendly face to ring you up. As the other reviewers have noted, this is one of the best places to buy beer in all of Miami. Yes, you’re gonna pay a dollar more a bottle for the big bottles and and a dollar more for a 6-pack than you would at a liquor store. But how many liquor stores are open to midnight and open on Sundays? NONE, that’s how many. I’m not gonna recite the same list that everyone else has of all the outstanding brews they sell here. Chances are, they’ll have what you’re looking for, and they’ll probably be able to get it if it not currently on their shelf or in their cooler. They’ll also order kegs for you. They usually have a small variety of domestic kegs on-hand, but ask, and they’ll be able to get their hands on just about anything, which then puts it in your hands. If you’re in the neighborhood and like beer, you’re a fool to not stop in here and pick up a tasty libation. Even if you’re not in the neighborhood, it’s worth the trip.

Stop N’ Shop is a beer store masquerading as a convenience store. A full quarter of this store, instead of genuflecting to Little Debbie, Hostess, fake beef jerky, Alka-Seltzer and the like, houses some true top-shelf beer. Sunset Corners may have more beer in the quantitative sense, but this unassuming convenience store gets some stellar new releases from American craft brewers, mostly — Terrapin, Stone, Dogfish Head, Rogue, Great Divide, Oskar Blues, Brooklyn, Sierra Nevada, Flying Dog, The Bruery, Left Hand, Victory, Weyerbacher, among others. You also find drool-worthy imports that never made it to South Florida until recently — Kriek and Rose de Gambrinus from the authentic Belgian lambic brewer Cantillon, Dieu de Ciel’s Scotch ale brewed with maple Equinox du Printemps, De Dolle’s Stille Nacht, and a few other choice bottles… even Craigmill’s 20th Anniversary Fraoch Heather Ale aged in single malt whiskey casks. Suffice it to say there are some very interesting bottles here. It would be easy to spend way too much money, so you’re going to have to exercise some self-control, should you choose to go here on a beer run.

HOLYBEERHEAVEN!!! This place is AWESOME!!! Goes to show that you can’t judge a book by its cover… Since the place looks a lil’ suspect, I would’ve NEVER thought to stop here for beer had it not been for Paula’s review —so THANKYOU, Paula!!! Don’t even ask me the beers that I had last night, because right now, I think there’s a chance that I’m still drunk and I can’t recall the names… bust seriously… I think maybe they had crack or something in them because they were THAT strong and delicious and I already want to go back for more. Luckily its close to my place so I’ll DEFINITELY be going to get my fix again soon!!!

If you are in the market for a wide variety of small craft beers and are in the Coral Gables/South Miami area then you have to bookmark Stop N’ Shop. On the way home last night I stopped in to grab some Bell’s Oberon and, thanks to the South Florida Beer Blog, some Flying Dog Raging Bitch IPA. Who would know that this little convenience store would boast such an insane variety of incredible hard to find beers! Fantastic…

I was just reminded to review this place because of the«Hidden Gems» thread, I had been meaning to do it since finals but with all the hassle it slipped my mind. Stop N’ Shop is probably my favorite convenience store in south FL, I never thought I’d have a favorite convenience store but when something is good, it is good. Its already a plus that it’s located right next the Coral Gables UM campus. During the stressful weeks you are very likely to find me purchasing my vices here(coffee, red bull, and n°9s) but on a more regular basis you are very likely to find me or one of my colleagues grabbing lunch in the deli located at the back of the store. Surprisingly enough, they do have a fine selection of Boar’s Head sandwiches and salads that always hit the spot during lunch rush hour. As if this weren’t enough, they have one of the most RIDICULOUS selection of craft beers I’ve seen in a while… what?! at a convenience store… true story, I’ve had the pleasure of purchasing some Arrogant Bastard, Dogfish Head Pangea, Gonzo Imperial Porter, and a good number of strange but very well prized and delicious IPAs. Thinking about it, it could potentially put DRB and Zekes to shame, and you know why? yes you do, if you know me you know the answer… THEYCARRYABITA!!! and not just the Purple Haze and Turbodog(the only two that the bars mentioned above offer), but their seasonals as well as my all time comfort and favorite Abita Amber. The other day they were having a sale on all Abita 6 packs for $ 6.99, I got me some of the seasonal Satsuma… hhhmmm okay I’m going to stop beergasming before this review gets any more out of hand.
