Love the Greek Salad with Hummus & Pita and the accommodating staff. A perfect treat.

I was working in the area and Mythos through Unilocal. As first impressions go, food look good and it was very busy for lunch time. The day was beautiful and I chose to sit outside. There wasn’t a hostess to really guide anyone so it was just basically sit and wait to be waited on. I only saw two young waiters and a busboy. Even though the waiter was very nice, I got more attention from the busboy that brought me silver wear, water and the free humus and pita bread. I ordered the small portion greek salad with chicken. No one ever approached me to refill my water or asked if everything was ok. When dining alone, Its much easier to eat and leave. This felt like It took forever. And while I waited for the waiter to bring me my bill… the table next to me had been left unattended for about a little more than 15 minutes and a hungry black crow devoured the leftover chicken and I watched the whole thing go down on top of the table… yea. the bird finished the whole meal, no one cleaned up that mess. AND even after waiting forever and a day for my bill because no one gave me eye contact, the waiter shortchanged me … well the change i didn’t get back was part of his tip. To be completely honest the salad was not bad, good price, but having horrible customer service and attention to detail ruined my dining experience.

Great drinks, great food, fun music and the owner seems to always be on site. What else can you ask for? They run deals on Unilocal and other social media sites so there’s always SOME sort of discount available. You can be somewhat healthy here. There are several lower fat choices on the menu. I’ve been here several times and even my kids like the food, so we know it’s got to be good!

The food was good. Dinner came with a show of belly dancing and spanish guitar playing. Both performances were great however, how is that Greek related? i purchased the Unilocal coupon 10 for 20 worth only to find out that it was not redeemable on the day I was there –and considering that I was vacationing in the area this will not be used ever… wasted money– My martini came along with a piece of glass inside of it. When I alerted the manager about this he said that he will find out about it took my drink and never came back to our table to even apologize about the incident. The waiter came back to the table and was very apologetic about the incident and offered another drink to compensate. I am glad I did not cut my tongue as the glass looked like ice in a martini.

Atmosphere is great and the service was pretty good. I’m not too particularly picky about food so what they served was satisfying. Nice to wash down after with the near by smoothie place

I first came here about 5 years ago, in anticipation of an upcoming trip to Greece. I have continued coming here over the years when I’m in town. I’m really surprised by some of the disappointed reviews, I’ve never had a bad meal or experience here. I love the outside seating area. As lame as The Walk is, this is probably the most special place along it. To start, you get a basket of warm pita bread and a hummus-like dip. They have great lamb dishes, as should be expected of a Greek place. I also like getting the Mythos salad and adding grilled chicken for an entrée. Portions are large and prices are reasonable. The belly dancers and live music are a tad annoying, but most patrons seem to enjoy both.

I came here for dinner with a few friends not too long ago, and I wasn’t impressed. From what I’ve heard, the food quality has decreased over the last few years. But I thought I’d give it a shot and see for myself. The hummus and pita bread was good. But other than that, not worth going to again. The service was forgetful, and from what I saw, lazy. They brought the wrong wine to the table and had one of us waiting well after the other three people at the table were halfway done with their meal. The only thing that’s somewhat enjoyable about Mytho’s, is the little shows they put on outside. I frequent the little plaza it’s in frequently, and they often have live bands playing, that are very good. When I was there, they had a belly dancer. So the ambiance was very enjoyable. If only the food and service were as enjoyable as the band…

I have been going to Mythos since they opened. I used to love it… however…it had gone down hill… and last time I was there the gyro was like a steak um and the feta was just gross… service has never been good, but if the food’s good you over look that… but like I mentioned food has gone down hill

I used to go there a few times a year, but hadn’t visited in a couple of years. Food has definitely declined. We ordered Shrimp Saganaki as an appetizer and it was terrible… shrimp were dry and there was little flavor to the diced tomato/cheese portion. Like they just opened a can of diced tomatoes and dumped it around some overcooked shrimp. Dry and overcooked was the theme for the rest of our food. My son and I split the grill platter($ 48)…the steak tips were ok and the only thing with any seasoning, the lamb wasn’t overcooked but tasteless, the chicken and pork were dry and tasteless. The lemon potatoes there used to have a crispiness and a golden brown color like they were finished under a broiler, but these were soft and bland like they were boiled… terrible The service wasn’t terrible but a bit disorganized… seems like one guy in the dining room that knew what was going on and a few others that were new or clueless. Unless I read something in Unilocal about dramatic positive changes I won’t be back.

Went back for takeout on an expiring Groupon and brought it home. Will skip the obvious and just comment on what I ordered. The chicken soup was creamy — milk based I think although I vaguely remember it being clear before. It was good, although MH said quite salty. Ditto Tarmosalata — good but salty. The hummus was a bit thinner and more watery than any I’ve seen before but that could just be today — I don’t know. The eggplant spread appetizer was ok, but not that appetizing overall. My main point that I wanted to get across is that in the hours following eating the food I began to get extremely bloated. My stomach wasted no time in telling me(vocally and loudly — between the line reading please!) how it felt about the food … to a point of discomfort but short of actual pain. So if you have a delicate stomach you may want to know this before going here. If it were possible I would like a refund. Obviously it’s not — my thing is — I don’t mind paying for gas, but not this kind … sorry for any undue graphic-ness … just FYI. In the same situation I would certainly want to know …

Service was a little challenged. We scheduled a birthday with a specific seat amount and they were totally unprepared. Service staff consisted mainly of high school students. Drinks were completely overpriced for the quality and content of alcohol offered per drink. Mojito was a complete disappointment! There were no mint leaves in the Mojito?! In all fairness they tried their best to be hospitable and welcoming. Food was decent. They did charge a 20% service! I was quite sure the group service charge was normally 18%. All in all, there are better Greek restaurants for far less money.

Julian is the best. Customer friendly — extremely knowledgeable and makes the entire meal feel like an afternoon/evening vacation. I have been to other Greek restaurants in the area but none as consistently good as this one. Julian has trained his staff well. Update on 4÷27÷2013: I have celebrated every birthday here since 2004 — and now, Mythos is closing one day after my birthday this year. Such a loss for the neighborhood — so undeserved by the employees who have given their all. Everytime I think I have seen corporate greed at its best, it once again reasr its ugly head.

Second time here the first time was about a year ago and the food and service were both poor, which is why we hadn’t returned. So for lunch we wanted gyros, haven’t had them in a long time so we checked around our work for a spot to go and it seemed Mythos was it. We figured we would try it again and a gyro should be a basic that any Greek place should get right. lets look at Gyros, Some places buy the premade seasoned loaf that they then grill in a vertical roaster and shave off the outside for their gyros. The best places make their own by putting layers of marinaded thin flat cuts of meat on a big skewer, and then grill in a vertical style roaster. Mythos does neither, instead they buy precut frozen slices of gyro type meat that they only have to thaw, heat up and stick on a pita. I would expect that in a diner or bar but not at a traditional Greek restaurant. The meat was very dry, tasted like frozen meat and it just wasn’t worthy of Gyro, I couldn’t even eat half of mine because the meat just got gross. In a Greek restaurant that is trying to sell itself as a higher priced traditional place, this is an embarrassment. I don’t understand using frozen processed meats in a restaurant and then charging good money to simply thaw and warm. There is no pride in the food or tradition at this traditional Greek restaurant. I don’t use frozen meat at home and I don’t expect when paying higher prices for it at a place like this. One other thing is that several workers or managers of the restaurant were sitting at tables in the dinning room with laptops and papers. Then a salesman came in with demo products of toilet tissue and soap dispensers and started selling to the managers at another table right in the dinning room with the customers. You don’t do the stuff in front of customers during peak lunch hours. Workers shouldn’t hang in the dinning room and sales demo shouldn’t be going on while customers are eating.

The service was pretty bad. It took over 20 minutes for the waiter to ask for my beverage order… and then got it wrong after 10 minutes. i liked the hummus and pita.

We were visiting Fort Lauderdale area on a vacation. Wanted some Greek food. Yes I am part Greek. Anyhow we picked this out for New Year’s eve. I’m not sure to what extent this evening was typical or not but there were some pleasant dishes but also some problems. Pluses: Lamb chops were fantastic. Really all the food was good. There were some typical dishes and some more nouveau cuisine choices; which was a nice mix on the menu overall. The mezethes were top notch. No complaints on the quality of the food and the creativity matched the price level or exceeded it. Two problems. First off the service. Disorganized and the food prep took way too long. They also missed something we ordered and we informed them and they too another too long of a time to prep that in turn as well. Really nice waiters and hostesses though, in spite of their disorganization. I was wondering if this wasn’t a management problem of some kind. Finally I observed some Christmas decorations which did not include any crosses but had a couple snowmen and menorahs. I am not sure what to make of that considering that Greece is a country that is almost 98% Greek Orthodox Christian and has very little snow(as does Florida) so that was a strange omission. It was also strange to have the menorah there considering that it reminds us historically of the Maccabean revolt that called the statute of Zeus Olympias an «abomination» and recalls a military rebellion that ended with dead Greeks. I do not know what kind of level of cultural ignorance these people have or what; or how much they want to pander to local tastes, but, there is a certainly level of literacy and loyalty that would have made something like that unthinkable in Chicago. I mention this since we have lived in Chicago for a few years and it has the largest population of Greeks in the USA and I would never expect this sort of incongruous decoration there. I am giving a three because the food was very good and thats the main thing you expect from a restaurant anyways. With service improvement it could be an easy four and with a more appropriate enculturation it might be a four plus,

A visit to Mythos is a visit to a lovely Greek island in the middle of a strip mall in Coral Springs. We came here for lunch one Saturday and were pleasantly surprised by the authentic and tasty Greek food here. We started off with the grilled Octopus and I have to say this was spectacular. For $ 13 you get a large plate just brimming with charbroiled Octopus. It was absolutely delicious with a generous serving. The owner explained that he has a limited supply of octopus since he has found only one purveyor with quality meat. He would not sell it than go with someone else — great to know! For my entrée I had the Lamb Chops with a side of tsatsiki. The chops were nice sized juicy New Zealand lamb and were delicious — well worth the $ 29. The tsatsiki had just the right amount of tart to it and went great on the chops. A certain nameless fancy Greek restaurant in Miami could certainly learn a thing about pricing and portions from Mythos! We also had the whole red snapper and Greek Salad, both of which I would also highly recommend. Service was a little slow, but it was a gorgeous South Florida day and we were relaxing with a bottle of wine sitting outside so it did not bother us too much. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!

This was our 2nd visit to Mythos, but the first time sitting inside. Ambiance inside is not nearly the same as out. There is live music on patio and belly dancing too. Served complimentary pita and hummus-like dip which was tasty. Ordered whole snapper entrée($ 29) to share with my wife, which we asked to be filleted, but waiter misunderstood and didn’t have kitchen do it. However, that’s not what bothered me. The fact that my $ 29 entrée was accompanied by frozen vegetables was just wrong. It was a delicious fish and it was cheapened by that. We almost and should have complained, but we didn’t want to ruin our quiet evening out without the kids. May go back when weather is cooler so we could sit outside, but would order a bunch of appetizers to munch on instead.

3 stars because service is not their specialty. I will get into that later. For now, I’d like to focus on the good– the food and ambiance. Mythos offers the most traditional Greek dishes with refined preparations. They are simple by sight, but radiate in each bite. They have a wide selection of Mezéthes(small plates) on the menu and the reasonable prices allow for you to «splurge» and try a few different items. A couple of my go to Mezés are the Spanakopita and Grilled Octopus, both of which Mythos does a nice job on. Another Greek favorite of mine is the Gyro and Mythos earns high marks on this combination of well cooked lamb, a nicely prepared tzatziki sauce, and fresh pita(p.s. In case you’re ever in a «how do you say it» debate, Gyro is pronounced YEAR-OH). The setting is decent with a clean Mediterranean look including white linen covered tables, which fill the dining room and a large outdoor patio area. There is a full bar with a decent amount of stools if you’re interested in grab a bite and a drink(perhaps a Mythos, a Greek beer offered). And depending on the day/time you dine, this basic restaurant atmosphere turns real festive with the addition of belly dancing and live music. The dishes and the value are certainly there, however I am a stickler for good service, The issue at Mythos is a lack of experience/passion amongst the wait staff. It is a younger group(late teens/early twenties) that is in charge of seating and serving, which could work with the proper management skills, however an average job of accommodating the guests’ needs is not going to cut it. It does not seem to matter whether Mythos is half empty or slammed, the service leaves room for improvement. Even enjoying the delicious fresh pita and hummus spread doesn’t negate having to wait and even hunt down your server to order your meal. Asking multiple times for water refills is also unacceptable. I wouldn’t go as far as saying the servers are rude, but I think that additional training is necessary so that the service can stand up to the same level as their food. If you’re looking for authentic Greek food and can forego great service, I present you with Mythos. Kali orexi!

Here is why this restaurant does not get a 4 or a 5. The wine list is good and priced reasonably. The menu is excellent, good selections for all tastes. You can assemble tapas or you can eat a full dinner with generous portions. The outside plaza often offers live music. So, that is a 5-star restaurant. But the«plaza» looks out over a parking lot and the so-called Walk of Coral Spring is a more or less a teen age promenade with attendant noise. Minus one star. And the servers have no notion of service. The last time I was there our waiter came by six or seven times to ask if «we were still working on that.» It made me feel rushed — like they needed the table turned over and we needed to get out of there. And the phrase is dumb. If they are proud of their food why would eating it be «work.» I will go back, but it just falls short of being a destination.
