Wow!!! What a great experience! This was our first time here and we were not disappointed! First I want to give a shout out to Robbie, our server… thank you for the amazing care! You are truly a master of your craft! The never ending bread was warm, crispy outside, very soft inside. Next, we had the appetizer sampler… stuffed mushrooms(my favorite!), breaded shrimp, and a southwestern chicken roll which came with an avocado-lime dip, SOGOOD! Our entrees came with a salad, I ordered the greens, hubby ordered Caesar… the nice touch was Robbie asking if I wanted all the fixings that came with my salad… I did, but hardly anyone asks! I got the 11 oz sirloin, medium. It was perfect! The right amount of pink and SO juicy! They use a really tasty spice blend on their steaks. Hubby got the 18 oz ribeye. His first bite, he gave me the«heaven» look… haven’t seen that in a long time!!! It had perfect grill marks and I may have wished I had gotten that for a small second! ;) Beer was ice cold, my drink, «The Perfect» was awesome! Brought the shaker to the table so I could have the rest, who doesn’t wish that ALWAYS happened! Truly one of our best dining experiences to date! We went on a Sunday afternoon around 3 pm, so was less busy, which we like. Another cool thing is they list all the cuts of beef in the menu with a detailed description.

I I’ve eaten here more than five times. Staff is friendly and atmosphere tastefully decorated, and since a new place my dust allergies don’t go batshit crazy like some older restaurants decorated with kitch. Food is good but nothing to write home to Mon about. I return for their steak salad and onion rings.

Service was great, and they accommodated to a group of 14 people. The main course included a salad and a side, as well as bread, and we were too stuffed for dessert.

We did the call ahead seating and was told that there wasn’t a wait. Didn’t think so, since it was raining, but still put my name on a «wait list». When we arrived, we were told there would be a 10 – 15 min wait. There was NOONE waiting, except the dumb ass(me), who did the call ahead seating! After 10 mins of waiting we were served. Not a big deal, except for the fact that it wasn’t THAT busy.(Actually it wasn’t busy at all). Lots of open tables. The waiter was great up until the fact when we got our food, and then he was no where to be found. My filet and my mom’s was undercooked(We like a medium rare, but this one came out rare… and yes, I know the difference), but the flavor was good, and I sure wasn’t about to wait to send it back. Good thing too, because we weren’t able to flag him down for quite some time, for a different matter. My Mom would never complain about a meal. And didn’t. According to my Dad and my girls, their dinner was great and loved their meal. Overall the food was good and hot(maybe not the temp that a STEAKHOUSE should know!) and the service was ok…

They DONOT take reservations as noted on Unilocal site. but told by a manager they do take«wait list» by phone and will put you on the«list» so that your drive time counts as part of the wait time…

I had no expectations of a corporate chain like this being good. Landry’s certainly sets the bar low. however Darden proved me wrong. This place was priced pretty reasonable and for under ten bucks i had a burger and soup(of course add the over priced beer and it’s not under ten bucks) Burger was great, but the soup was up there with the best i have had

Great service! If it were simply about the food, I’d give them one star. But the service was amazing from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. Every person who worked there was friendly and appeared to really enjoy their work. And if I were being honest, I would say that this is not a place I would ever choose myself. I’ve eaten at this chain in other places and I have never been impressed with the food. Tonight, I had broiled shrimp that was overly salted atop a bed of flavorless rice served with a side of green beans that were rubbery. My salad was a bowl of chopped iceberg lettuce with a few cheese shreds on top. Was it edible? Eh, mostly. Was it worth it? Nope. Not on your life.

Waiting 10 minutes to even get greeted, service was not very good… but he was friendly at least. We had to ask at least 2 – 3 other servers to do stuff for us, not good! Food was warm, but not hot, so kind of disappointed. it was my birthday and he didn’t even make it feel like a special occasion or offer us dessert or anything at all… :\

Stopped by for lunch on the fourth of July. Took advantage of the bone on signature steak. Had it medium with a little pink and a whole lot of delicious j taste. This steak was most and full of flavour. The rub was a nice blend of spices and salt that added to the flavour. The house salad was great. The vegetables were fresh. Same thing goes for the loaded potato. Cooked to perfection. I wouldn’t recommend the grilled corn. It wasn’t iowa corn. It also pretty dry and fairly chewy. The sweet tea was a nice blend of herbs with the perfect amount of sweetness. Prices went cheap but you get what you pay for. I’ll be back. So I came back five days later. Stopped by for lunch. Order the fried green tomorrow m tomatoes as an appetizer and an eleven ounce steak with loaded baked potato. Five minutes later the massager stopped by and said three tomatoes hadn’t been prepare yet so I got them for free a little bit later. Those tomatOes were great. Rock and hot. Three steak came and it was fine Rio perfection. I still prefer three bone in ribeye but this was about as good. Service is outstanding.

Good food. Great drinks. I ordered a strawberry drink and it came with an old fashioned candy sucker in it. Yum. Rolls are good! And it’s quite a bit nicer than the Texas Roadhouse.

I love when a chain steak restaurant exceeds my expectations. Not too many options for good eats in Iowa City and when my co-workers and I went on the hunt for dinner we happened along this place. First of all, it was packed. Good sign. The server came over and immediately got our drinks and recommended an appetizer. Huge menu selection. The chef had some specials that sounded delicious. I really wasn’t in the mood for a steak so I ordered the pork chops. I like my pork chops well done(none of that medium nonsense). The chop was still tender and juicy. Yum! I also had a plain baked sweet potato. It was cooked just right. Kind of burnt on the outside but tender inside with all the flavor still in tact. This place really exceeded my expectations. Trust me, we’ll be back.

One of the worst restaurant we have been to! My wife ordered a rib eye steak cooked medium rare and a baked potato, with no sour cream, double butter, it came out with double sour cream, no butter. I ordered a chicken breast, with a side of rice, it made no mention on the menu, that it was spicy. Even though it was lunch, the place was pretty empty. The waiter was terrible, he came to the table 3x, once to order, once to bring the food and drinks at the same time, and finally to give us the check. We normally tip 25%, we rounded up the charge & left him with the rest, a dollar & some change. We definitely will not be going back.

OK-queit…even though there is a train running out side the restaraunt.
Nice… warm…the only TV’s are at the bar area… so it was great for my date… out for conversation. Ordered the 23oz bone in rib eye. medium rare… showed up at the table almost cold. I asked for some Heinz 57-the cute server said I should not need it… but I did. Too much peper… salt was ALMOST over the top… but good… I liked that! Restaraunts are able to get a better cut of beef than us-the great unwashed… we can’t even ask for it! I told my date next time I would have to bring my own knife… theirs was NOT sharp enough… I should not have to wrestle a 23 $ steak! A tip-I think they should use the HOT metal plates some of the other places use to serve a steak. mine cooled off so fast on the beautiful ceramic plate. My date had a fillet… and she said it was very tender… but nothing else… no compliments. The green beans… a little too crunchy… we both like CRISP… not chewing for 30 min. The 8 $ mushrrom caps stuffed in cheese cause… were warm. The 1st bite was good… loved it… after that… it did not taste good cold. Ask the cook(I can’t say Chef for this food) to taste the mushroom cheese cap… right off the grill-I think it would ROCK! Served lukewarm on a ceramic dish… MEH. For this I paid 86 $ with tip-(you can’t fault the server for crappy food!!!) For 63 $ tab?!?45 min there… kick the owners… LOL As somebody who cooked for crews of 30 – 300ALL over the world… I do this because I know what I am talking about! The problem is management… training or not caring! And I wish more people would rate food here… or wherever… but be honest and let the owners know what needs to be changed!!! Please :-)

I went to the LongHorn a couple of nights ago with a friend. We ordered some of the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer, salads and each ordered a filet. I’ll go through each course. Appetizer — Mushrooms arrived in a long skinny serving dish. On one of the plate, the mushrooms with their cheese stuffing had some slight browning. On the other end, the cheese was barely room temperature and had not melted at all. We ate them, with kind of an «oh well» attitude. We aren’t ones to complain. But it any colder and it would have gone back. If I knew what we were in store for, they would have definitely gone back and we would have left. Garden Salad — The highlight of the meal. Fresh, crisp and tasty, we should have stopped here. Dinner — My dining companion had only one complaint, from the steak to the baked potato, and that was that«nothing here is hot. The food is all just like room temperature.» I agreed, as mine was the same. I ordered the specially featured Blue Crab and Meyer Lemon Hollandaise Filet. The meat was cooked fine, but was room temperature. The Hollandaise tasted like it was out of a can. It was room temperature and gross. Even worse was the«Blue Crab» on top. It was blue crab, but from a can. And it seemed un-drained. It was wet and extremely fishy tasting. It was terrible, and also barely room temperature. I scraped 90 percent of it off. I didn’t complain to the management as I was there with a guest and didn’t want to create an issue. It was only when we got to the car and began discussing it did we realize we were both so disappointed. To top it off, the next day I spent much of the morning in the bathroom. I blame the crab and hollandaise. I will not go back to this place until they learn how to serve HOT food. I think the food is actually hazardous as it seems they just cook things and let them sit out in the«danger zone» temperature wise until people are done with their salads, etc. I will tell people to avoid this place, due to my experience. I have eaten at this place about 4 times, and while the other three were just«okay» or maybe a notch above, this last visit turned me off forever. The food was cold and gross. Avoid.

Had a pleasant experience here on my last night in town. Filet was cooked perfectly and the service was timely(and friendly). If I’m back here for business you will definitely see me here again, especially since it’s across the parking lot of the hotel I stay at.

Good food. Great service. Prices are right. Only thing I had a very small issue with is that they brought out our appetizer with our meal but not a huge problem. I just downloaded Unilocal so my visit was when they first opened up so it been a few months ago so I bet that is all ironed out

Prices are reasonable for what you get and the amount you get. The onion petal appetizer is fantastic, the caesar comes with the lovely shaved parmesan versus shredded(I very much like the former), and the ribs are GOOD. I find this place relatively comfortable in terms of seating and service has been extremely attentive the two or thee times I’ve been there. Given that there’s not that many restaurants in the IC/Coralville area(seriously. Compared to Madison or even Des Moines I’m pretty sure the restaurants per capita is pretty low), I think this is a pretty safe bet for those looking for relatively standard low-end steakhouse fare.
