Awesome place! Great food and atmosphere… Stop in of you get a chance. Ribs are amazing and baked beans are excellent as well. They give you big portions at a very reasonable price.

Great pulled pork, ribs, and brisket. Sides are tasty. All portions are plentiful. I especially appreciated the free samples we were offered when we sat down. Wait staff was friendly, efficient and attentive. I will definitely stop by there again.

The Rib Shack is a casual, down-home restaurant in Corinth. You walk in and seat yourself. Our waitress stopped by to take our beverage order. Unfortunately, the Rib Shack doesn’t serve beer, wine or alcoholic beverages. No worries, sweet tea will do. Also unfortunately, our waitress seemed to get side tracked chit-chatting with other customers. It was about 10 minutes before she got back around to taking our dinner order. I ding one star for this. Regardless, it was worth the wait. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and richly permeated with smoke. Although they are served with only a dry rub, mild, hot and sweet sauces are available on every table. A number of side choices are available to complement the ribs. Other menu items include brisket, chicken, sandwiches, hamburgers, etc. You’ll also like the prices, they’re very reasonable. If you’re in Corinth and looking for good ribs, stop at the Rib Shack. Oh yeah, it may be a bit of a challenge to find. Although the address is listed on US-72, it sits way in the back of a parking lot and is easily overlooked. Look for the Pizza Hut and then look in the back of the parking lot just to the east of it.

YUM! Tender fall-off-the-bone tender ribs served dry, that don’t need any sauce at all, but if you want sauce with your smoked piggie parts there are 3 kinds on the table: Hot, Sweet, and Mild. These ribs are perfectly seasoned with a dry run and smoked gently. They are moist and not chewy at all — they compare VERYFAVORABLY to the ribs we had last night at Marlowe’s in Memphis. The barbecued pulled pork is also served without sauce, and also does not need it because the meat is so well seasoned. Pulled pork is also moist and tender — it may be just a tiny bit better than the ribs. Fried pickles are quarter-spears in a dill batter — YUM! EATHERE — the Corinth Rib Shack is BBQPILGRIMAGEWORTHY.

Family owned and operated. BBQ, sandwiches– cheese steak hoagie, in particular, recommended. Very popular lunch specials. Their beans and slaw, standard barbecue sides, are well prepared and very good. Their fries are usually very well done as well. That being said, if you’re not from around here, you have to recognize that barbecue is very much influenced by regional taste variations and personal taste preferences. Consistency can be a rare commodity in barbecue restaurants, even for locals. Differences in cuts of meat, cooking times and from cook to cook can introduce slips in quality as well as inattention to how long the prepared barbecue sits in a holding area or steam tray. I have friends who only come here for lunch because of perceived issues with quality in the evenings. I come here most often for their barbecue sauce even though it appears to me that the owners have followed the modern barbecue mantra to try and please everyone and have three different sauces on the table now. In the old days, you had the house barbecue sauce and a bottle of Louisiana Hot Sauce for those who wanted a little more spice in their life. Now you have to pick between Hot, Sweet and Mild. Its not just here, at Corky’s in Memphis a couple of weeks ago, I noticed 6 different sauces on their table. The mild barbecue sauce on their table is what I’ve become accustomed to over a lifetime. You can tell from the picture of the bottles on the table, the relative popularity by the levels in the bottles. The sauce is the consistency of ketchup with a mild barbecue spice flavor. To disclose a great local food service secret and document some local food history, I will tell you that this mild barbecue sauce has been served in Corinth over 60 years that I am personally aware of. If you want to know more about it and a little more local food history, check my review for Brigg’s Inc. who is the local distributor. This is the same barbecue sauce that has been used at the most popular Corinth drive-ins, diners and dives for the last 50 years or more. Food habits, preferences and tastes tend to be ingrained at birth and determined largely by what we eat as we grow up and become accustomed to. Hog Wild in Corinth has been a major sanctioned barbecue cooking contest since 1991 traditionally held near the railroad depot in downtown Corinth the first weekend in October. Enjoy some really great barbecue by becoming friends with one of the local sponsors of a contest team. For all other times during the year, Rib Shack is a very good place to get a taste of Corinth barbecue.

They aren’t trying to reinvent the mouse trap here. Unsurpassed in smoke flavor of the pulled pork. Smoked half chicken is incredible. Baked beans and slaw are perfectly prepared, neither, too-sweet/too-bland. Hand cut fries are good. An opinion, they need to double dip the fries. When you get them in a to-go box, by the time you get home they are so wet and limp from the condensation, they are not palate pleasing. Take note of
Their desserts are homemade, but are outsourced, through a very nice and talented lady. I worked here for a brief time. I remember on my first day, when the smoker was opened for the first time that morning, all the women ran to the front of the house, to avoid the smoke. I walked forward, inhaling, embracing, admiring, rejoicing, almost worshipping the smell. When the ‘Pit Master’ asked me if I wanted to experience something better than the smell, I said sure! He pulled a hunk of meat off one of the butts, straight off the smoker. My my! There are many descriptive words, adjectives, if you will, to describe food(bitter, bland, spoiled, mellow, crisp, buttery, fishy, tasteless, gingery, burnt, fruity, hearty, peppery, sweet, overripe, vinegary, oily, salty, spicy, sugary), but the only thought running through my head, when I tasted that fresh-smoked meat, was dayyum! Note to tourists, don’t approach locals with«Where is Jimmy’s or Crossroads BBQ?» We only know it as the Rib Shack. Side note: if you are not a child, don’t order the macaroni and cheese, it is straight from a box. No characteristics of homemade or even of a box-macaroni that has been ‘fiddled’ with by adding extra butter and cheese.

Love this family owned place! The ribs are awesome… Pretty much everything I’ve ever tried there I have enjoyed. The Pig Salad is my favorite and I love getting it with honey mustard and some of their bbq sauce to mix up for a unique dressing. If you have room, go for the Hostess Cupcake cake. Devils food chocolate cake in layers with a white cream in between and covered with chocolate icing. Good thing you can buy it by the piece because it’s not one you need to have a whole thing of at home because you will keep going back to it. Alright now I’m ready to get off work … Think I might treat myself to some ribs tonight!
