Ready very quick and good pizza. Just what we needed after a busy morning on the beach!

So, you want pizza? Then let’s thrown in a few qualifiers: You are in the outer banks in winter. Your hotel tells you that this is the only game in town for pizza in terms of what’s currently open. Your hotel tells you that this places delivers. The problem with all of this is that when I called I found out that they indeed are currently the only game in town but… no, they are not currently delivering(at least not when I called them on the night of the 27th last month) which was fine as they were less than ten minutes away from my hotel except it took almost fifty minutes for the pizza to be done which for a pick up order is ridiculous. The menu itself is very small. A few different pizza types, a few different subs, three different salads and some mozz sticks. For two medium pizzas with one topping it was thirty dollars and some change which is a total hose job but the alternative was… I don’t know what except that it would have involved a long drive. When I got to the store it was just one guy doing everything and he looked fairly stressed. The pizza itself was standard. I’ve had better and I’ve also had worse but noteworthy is that this pizza is very, very oily/greasy as in the bottom of the boxes had a huge dark spots on them by the time I got everything back to the hotel. One other tip worth noting is that there is conflicting information as to which Pizzazz Pizza locations are open year round. According to the local visitor center the Kitty Hawk and Nags Head locations are open year round but I drove by the Kitty Hawk location several times and it is currently very much closed just like the Corolla location is supposedly closed right now according to one source then according to another it’s closed January-March yet the guy at the store said they’re open at the Corolla location year round. The pizza was acceptable and I guess it filled the void but the reality is that Andy D’s review is laughable as this is NOT classic American anything. The pizza is overly greasy, the slices were not pre-cut which caused a huge mess later, they advertise free delivery and then tell me that during the offseason it’s not always available which equals shady and the price is a gouge in the worst way. Come here if you’re close or if you«need to» but if you’ve got other options elsewhere, go for it.

This review is based on service and not the food. I didn’t get to try the food due to walking out after being treated more rudely than I ever have in my life. Subs are on the menu here, but I wouldn’t recommend ordering subs because this apparently makes the cook/manager(?) VERY angry! I called to place an order and said can I please get 4 cheese steak subs and was told«no, you can’t. Go down the street to Philly steak subs, we aren’t doing those.» I said, OK, thank you I just saw them on your menu. «They are on the menu but we’re not doing them tonight.» So, I go to Philly steak subs down the street but they are closed so I return to Pizzaz Pizza thinking I’ll just order a different kind of sub. The two people up front seemed confused when I said I was told they weren’t doing cheesesteaks but could we get 4 meatball parmesan subs. One guy goes back to ask the cook who comes up front and angrily says to me «are you the one who called? Well, I can do 4 cheesesteak subs but we’re not a sub shop, it’s twice the work and half the money so I can’t make like 10 subs». I say OK, I understand, we just want 4 subs but if it’s easier we can do meatball or whatever. The guy is pretty angry and says I can do four, just tell her what you want. Then my mom makes the mistake of asking if the onions they put on the sub are grilled. When the guy up front goes back to ask, the cook throws his hands up in the air and yells«We don’t have grilled onions because we don’t have a grill. we’re NOT a sub shop!». At this point I walked out. I don’t really want someone this angry cooking food for me. If you don’t want to make subs take them off your menu. Don’t take it out on me for just ordering off the menu. On the other hand, if he was just too busy to accommodate a sub order that night all he had to say was«I’m sorry, we’re really slammed tonight and just can’t handle any sub orders. I’d be happy to make you a pizza or we’d love if you came back on a night when we’re not so busy.» Apparently I’m not the only person who was yelled at here for ordering subs off the menu. They really need to just take them off the menu or fire the angry cook.

STOPTHEHATE! Is the pizza gourmet? No. Is this classic American pizza? YES. Obviously this is not a state of the art pizza joint. You guys are getting the wrong stuff! Next time try a pizza with pepperoni, bacon, green peppers, and onions. Comes out perfect every time. Don’t get the white. Don’t get anything fancy. Stick to the basics and you’ll be happy. Stop hating on this classic OBX pizza chain!

Don’t bother with pizzazz pizza… Over-rated, over-priced pizza not worth the wait. Be prepared to add 30 minutes on to your expected pick up!

Went here today before we left the outer banks, we had the cheesesteaks, 2 plain slices, and 2 hurricane white with chicken. The food was decent as was the service. 30 bucks seemed high but I was on vacation.

We ordered 4 pizzas. Two plain, one with the works and one white. This was not pizza. Boring middle American carbs on a flat bread at best. My kids said the cafeteria pizza in school was better. There are places in the OBX that actually make, cook, sell and deliver tasty pizza. Not this chain.

Awful! Spent $ 57 for pizza, wings and french fries from a conveyer belt. Yuk! Would NEVER go here again. Look elsewhere for pizza, what a waste.

Little Caesars hot and ready quality at about 3x the price. We were in Corolla offseason and all the recommended pizza places weren’t open. It’s edible and the kids actually really liked it but if you consider yourself a pizza snob you might want to look elsewhere.

Service is the worst. We ordered subs, and after 30 minutes we saw customers who had ordered after us getting their food. We complained and the manager told us «If you wanted subs you should have gone to Subway.» After 45 minutes they finally made our subs but only made 3 of the 4 we ordered and claimed we only asked for 3.

My first visit to Pizzazz Pizza went very well. We were driving back from the beach and I was starving, and this was the first place we saw. It is very clean inside and has comfy booths to sit in. We didn’t have to wait in line and were served in about 10 minutes. We got a half pepperoni half spinach pizza, and I really enjoyed my half(spinach). The crust is AMAZING! It wasn’t scorching hot so we could eat it in about 2 minutes, which is usually a problem – there is nothing I hate more than waiting forever for my pizza to cool so I don’t burn my mouth off! I would definitely return. The staff was very hospitable and even a fellow customer checked to see if we were enjoying our experience. Pizzazz may not be what some are looking for, but when you’re dying for something to eat while here in the Outer Banks, I would point you in their direction.

When you have driven in the car for 12 hours to get to OBX, this pizza hits the spot. It was average pizza but it tasted good!

Our family ordered a few pizzas while we were in town at the beach. The delivery was going to take over two hours, so we just picked it up. It was ready in ten minutes. The pizza was meh. We ordered a pepperoni & sausage as well as a plain cheese for the picky kids. Nothing great. I didn’t understand why this place had such great reviews unless they really have no options in this area. I’m used to living in cities that have excellent pizza, so I have to say this was not good. I would never come back here again.

I LOVE this pizza — specifically the«Hurricane White» Pizza. It is one of the most delicious pizza concoctions I have ever tasted. When we go for our beach vacation to OBX every year, we always order pizza from here the first night(and usually another night of our trip too!) — They deliver, which is super convenient. Now, I just wish they would open a Pizzazz Pizza in Charlotte, NC! I would be their #1 Fan!

Our family ordered a pizza and were told an hour and fifteen minutes. Three hours later the pizza arrives without a discount or apology. The place was a 90 second drive from our house. In hindsight, carry out would have been better.

Pure and utter filth. This place was our dinner night 1 for our outerbanks fun and boy was this a major mistake. Should have checked Unilocal but the person running it did not. They quoted us 45 mins for delivery, 3 hours later it arrived. The pizza was downright terrible and disgusting. I mean that on all levels. The toppings were stringy. Do yourself a favor for the love of god check out Unilocal. This place was terrible. Better options include: Dominos Ellios Red Barron Totino’s pizza rolls

3 hours for delivery, Get the F out of here! Next time I will make sure I use Unilocal before ordering Pizza in the OBX. Tons of pizza places in a close proximity with better reviews.

Horrible… Delivery time, texture… More to come on this This is not going to be pretty if you are a fan of this abomination of a pizza location. Let me ask you this, how can somebody defile pizza the way this place does, generic frozen pizza, or ellio’s would be a better option than this place. I am upset I have to give this place a «Single star» it is not even star worthy, but for me to express my opinion I had to give them a notch. Everything was going great, no accidents, beers/liqour/wine/water were getting their chill on in the fridge; the hot tub was the spot to be. We finally got down here on vacation from the 6.5 hour drive from the Philly area we decided to hit up some pizza. Tired, drained from our drive this was supposed to be the simplest solution to feed our hunger… Pizza, all votes for this was a unanimous yes. Strike 1– We ordered 7 large pies, 3 of which were cheese the other 4 were simple Pepperoni, sausage, white, and a peppers with something I can’t remember. How can you take almost 3 hrs for delivery, when we were told 45 min after we asked and for a confirmation on that 45 min. Strike 2– At first i couldn’t taste anything because of my somewhat drunken pallet, but after my first 2 slices the taste buds sobered up real quick. There was no taste, bland, no sense of care when making these pies. The sauce was horrible,(Domino’s’ has a better sauce), the dough tasted like flavored cardboard(again Domino’s’ would have been better) There was no crust, just a stale and chewy version of what looked like a crust. If you do not understand what I mean by this grab a hand full of tissues, or paper ball it up, and start eating it. Strike 3– Calling yourself a pizza place! You have taken something away from the people who enjoy pizza, who are enthusiast of a great pie. I have never had this much agita in my life from 1 slice of pizza. The amount of money you charge for this horrible version of what you call pizza, you should be ashamed. You didn’t comp us for the hours of delay. You think«hey we’ll knock off the price, instead of 7, we’ll charge you for 5» In baseball terms 3 strikes your out. no balls. flat out strikes. They need to walk up to every person and apologize for putting out this kind of service. Side note: They will never be considered again, I would rather have had Domino’s’, or Ellios, or any generic store version of frozen pizza… Christ even bagel pizza bites would have been a better option than these guys. Abomination!

That’s a spicy meatball… is not what you’ll hear anyone say after eating a meatball sub from here. That’s what I had. It was okay, the sauce was fine and the bread was fresh but would not make it my life’s ambition to return. Counter guy was nice once he got off the phone… it was kind of awkward standing there for 45 seconds while he was chatting on the phone with someone. At first I thought he might be taking a call in order but he wasn’t. Odd. Overall, meh.
