Animal Hospital of Eagle Glen- Mark Farrar, DVM

Wish I could have given less than a star but that wasn’t an option. The doctor we saw was condescending and didn’t answer any of our questions. I let him know that my dog has been sick for 3 days and let him know that our dog might have eaten grapes. When I asked him if they were poisonous to dogs the vet said «I don’t like to make a living off of neglect!» I couldn’t believe the response. I was just looking for some education and left feeling like a horrible person. My dog is my child, I call him my fur-​baby and this complete and absolute berating crushed me. Will never go back!!!

My daughter’s guinea pig was ill. Took it to the vet, who gave it an injection and several medications. The vet said the guinea pig had a cold. $ 173.00 for the visit and medication. The guinea pig died the next morning. So we called the vet said we had all these medications that had not been opened and could not use, because obviously the guinea pig had more than just a cold, and had died. The receptionist put us on hold and then came back to the phone to say that the doc said the guinea pig had pneumonia. Not once during our visit was pneumonia mentioned. We told them we wanted a refund for the medication. They would only refund us for the medication that was not pre-​mixed, which was a little over $ 50.00. I am more upset about the fact that the doc could not tell that this little guinea pig had pneumonia and this poor little thing probably suffered all night. Will never take another animal here again!

My partner’s family dog (13 yr old chihuahua) was taken to this vet (without owner’s consent) after 2 German shepherds viciously attacked her. The owner of the attack dogs was the person to bring our chihuahua here. She suffered many lacerations on both her legs, mouth, cheek, ear and neck. The vet checked her temp and pulse (150) and performed only 2 x-​rays (not even full body) & administered a pain med. She was stapled and sent home (bloody and partially shaved) with only a vial of antibiotics and verbal instructions (per German shepherds owner) to keep her inside (for warmth) and to give her only soft food. She was to return to vet in 14 days for staple removal. No written care instructions were given to us from the German shepherds owner nor did we receive a copy of her medical report for her prognosis. She was released to our care around 3:30pm on Tuesday. Upon receiving her from the man who took her to the vet, she was heavily uncoordinated (likely due to pain med given) and unable to use her hind legs. She had great difficulty even drinking water (likely due to mouth laceration). As the hours passed she continued to get worse, she stopped drinking water & she never ate, urinated or had a bowel movement. She could barely prop herself up on her two front legs (which she wasn’t able to do at all by midnight). She didn’t sleep through the night, shook uncontrollably and whimpered in pain. I tried to comfort her as best I could. In the morning, I knew she needed to be seen right away as she was almost completely withdrawn & could only lay in one position. I wrapped her in a blanket and took her to this clinic. The office was empty except for a front desk woman (thin, uses cane & has reddish brown hair). I told her my dog was brought here yesterday to be treated for a dog attack and that she was doing really bad and we were worried for her. She knew who we were right away & new the German Shepherd owners by first and last name. I told her all our dog’s symptoms and how difficult the night was for our dog. She seem completely calm & not concerned in the least bit for our little dog. She states callously, «the Dr is really busy today and I don’t know that he has time to see her» — office is still empty at this point and they have had their doors open for over a hour.. The woman walks to the back and I can audibly hear her say to Dr FARRAR «these people are here with the dog from yesterday that got attacked & they say she’s not doing well.» The dr’s response was «I don’t have time for that, I’m busy today.» She replied «OK», and then he asked «are they one of our regular patients» and her reply was «No» & to that he said «no, I don’t have time for that today, I’m too busy.» The woman walks back to the front desk and tells us «sorry, he’s just too busy today.» She proceeds to hand us a paper and tells us we can go to either one of these 2 animal hospitals that can help us — one in murrieta and the other in Ontario, both of these locations are at least 30 mins away… I scoffed at this and asked her if the Dr would be reporting this dog attack and her response was «report to what?» I said «To animal services,» She said the Dr hasn’t made a report and doesn’t intend to. I told her that «I will be making a report & if you don’t report it then I’ll be reporting you.» My partner asked for our dogs medical records and the front end woman told us she would remind the Dr to file a report (yeah right?!?) We took our papers and left to try to find another vet to see our dog, fearful that she was slipping away by the minute. We took her to Centennial Animal Hospital and she was seen right away. The vet performed an exam after obtaining vitals and the she informed us she was most likely septic and short of surgery, hospitalization and intense rehabilitation that there was nothing they could do for her at this point. By 10am, our little dog was non-​responsive and barely moving. We knew she didn’t have a lot left to give, so we decided to put her to sleep to end her suffering and to avoid surgery (she was 13 already). We watched our dog take her last breath at 9:55am, just 18 hours after she was released from Dr Mark Farrar’s care and just 1 hour after he REFUSED to see her. This clinic and this DVM is the SCUM OF THE EARTH and justice for our dog would only be seen if this asshole’s license was stripped and this clinic was shut down forever.

I’ve been taking my animals to Dr. Farrar for many years. He’s always been compassionate and professional. The staff is so kind and professional. I couldn’t ask for a better vet for my animals. Had to recently put one of my dogs down and the staff couldn’t have been more compassionate. I love this place.

Dr. Farrar is the best. We have 3 dogs. This is the 3^rd time we have seen him for our dogs. The last surgery on our Maltipoo to remove cysts under her belly, scar has healed so clean you wouldnt know she had surgery there. We have a Mastiff as well. Dr. Farrar & his staff took real good care of him considering how large our Mastiff is. I highly recommend this animal hospital.

Everytime I move I try and find a really good vet well I was very blessed to find mark Farrar he took phenomenal care of our dogs everyone there the staff very kind understanding so I give him 5 stars one of the best veterinarians I have had. Thank-​you!

I am a mother. I was raised with cats. Cats were «pets» and my family treated them as replaceable.
I met my boyfriend, a combat veteran, about 7 years ago and he had boxers. Huge boxers. Naturally, I was terrified of them. Fast forward 7 years and these boxers are my children. I have three children.
Today, my black boxer almost died. I was that woman who almost called 911 for my dog because that’s how much of a human my dog is to me.
I flagged down people from the street. My dog collapsed. He was outside for 90 seconds. It’s hot. I don’t walk them in the heat. I’m not an idiot. But they acted like they needed to poop. So I took them outside. Again, 90 seconds.
My black boxer suddenly dives head first into bushes, moans like an animal dying, and freezes up. If you’re a parent, I do not need to explain what it feels like to witness something like that.
I called Dr. Farrar and he left an office full of appointments, picked me up, and took care of my boxer. It was not heat at all. My boxer may possibly have beginning stages of a heart issue and we are set to see a cardiologist tomorrow.
Not only did Dr. Farrar go above and beyond, but his staff also did as well. My other boxer was crying for my black boxer so they let me sit in the room with both dogs while the EKG was being administered.
I am absolutely speechless as to the level of professionalism, care, and knowledge that my boys received today. It’s places and people like these that remind me that the world is not so messed up.

Mark Farrar, DVM has been my dog Companion’s vet for 12 years, not counting the three years that I lost track of him when he opened his Animal Hosptial of Eagle Glen practice. Since I was unaware that he had opened Eagle Glen I spent those three years very unhappily going from one Corona Vet to another. I was so glad to have found him again.
Mark Farrar, DVM is concientious, knowledgeable and caring. He has worked with me on affordable treatments to keep my dog comfortable and pain free into Companion’s 16^th year. Several of his loyal patients are my freinds who had wasted money and time looking for a Vet like him. They had a few horror stories to tell and were grateful for the receommendation.
The office is always clean and the staff are the best. The most obvious indication of a good Vet are how much everyone in the office loves and cares about pets. The Animal Hospital of Eagle Glen has been a safe place for my dog to receive gentle, educated care.
On a side note, Dr Farrar is not as outgoing as he once was, but I take my dog to him because I do not need a new friend, I do need expert medical advise for my sweet Sheltie, and that is what I always get here.

Great vet! I was driving all the way to another vet in Irvine until they almost killed my dog. My mini schnauzer has horrible allergies and allergic reactions to vaccinations. Dr Farrar always makes sure to pre treat her so she doesn’t swell up. His staff is also amazing!

Unfortunately I have had to take both cats here for minor cat fight injuries. We always get treated with respect and they are quick and fair priced.

Hopefully this review will actually show up under this vet. I really don’t understand why you can’t read one review. Took my Yorkie in because he had a eye infection. The receptionist said no appointments open but fit me in the schedule. The doctor is really chill. He looked at the eye and recommended eye drops. The eye infection cleared up in a week. The office is very clean. They had a blanket on the exam table to make my dog more at ease. Overall the office visit was great.

I’ve been using Dr. Farrar for a few years now and he has helped me maintain my dog’s health when finances were next to nothing — I trust him more than any other local vet and I am happy to use them in the event of an emergency like a broken bone to my dog’s regular medical checkups. Thank you!

Took my cat here because he wasn’t using the bathroom or eating as usual so the dr here at this office said that my cat was most likely using the bathroom on my towels and other things because he feels inferior to the other two cats in the house. I told him he has been raised with those two cats ever since they were all kittens and I know in my gut that this is not the case. So I told him to take X-​rays. He recommended not to. He said just change his diet as add another litter box. I said take X-​rays and so they did. Turns out my cat had a bowel blockage and was severely dehydrated. I was so freaking pissed off that I told the dr to give him Bolus of fluids and I was going to take him with me in a few hours. So I come back, ask the receptionist for a copy of ALL X-​rays that had been taken and all lab results and she kindly gave them to me. I have nothing against the staff. Just the doctor. He misdiagnosed my cat and when I brought my cat to a better and nicer vet office, they were blown away that the other office DIDNT want to take X-​rays at first without me telling them.
Another incident was when my cat was peeing blood. Dr Farrar said it could be from his stool or it could be the cat litter. So he gave me a bag of this wheat cat litter which smells like piss to me. Well turns out, my cat was still peeing blood and I took him to another vet in Yorba Linda and they said he had a crap load f crystals in his bladder and needed to keep him over night to flush it out. He hasn’t had anything since. I will NEVER step foot into this vet office again and I highly recommend you find somewhere else to go. Again this is about the doctor, not the assistants.

Definitely one of the best vets I’ve ever used! About a month after I moved to California from Virginia, my poor dog dislocated her hip. I took her in and left her there to get some x-​rays to confirm the dislocated hip. About 20 minutes later, I got home, pulled in the driveway and Dr. Farrar called me to let me know that while her hip was dislocated and he could pop it back in, he found that she had severe arthritis in her hips and that it would only be a temporary fix because with the arthritis, the hip could easily pop back out again. Instead of suggesting an absurdly expensive surgery (like a hip replacement) he offered a much less expensive surgery that would fix her hip and be just as effective. We opted to for the less expensive treatment option and after a few months, she was like a brand new dog! We were so grateful to have a veterinarian that was upfront and honest with us about what to expect with the surgery and was willing to give us all of our options. Now we live all the way in San Bernardino and I’m still willing to make the drive to Corona for any vet visits.

So~ I used to live in San Francisco and when I moved back south I had to find a vet that didn’t charge an arm and a leg.
My cat is very precious to me, as is any other pet to their owner I imagine. Every time I go the staff is very friendly and they actually take interest in my pets. I brought my cat Ventus to them to get neutered. His previous vet didn’t want to touch him, putting me through an emotional roller coaster by telling me he had a number of heart issues. I was assured however, but Doctor Farrar that nothing was wrong with him and it was safe. Ven got his neutering and is perfectly healthy. He’s treated Ven for other things and always takes his time and is very, very kind and welcoming. Other vets I’ve met were rather cold and clinical and had little care for the animal other than to do the job and get out.
Today I brought them 2 other pets of mine and he treated them both at the same time, giving equal attention to both. As always the staff was kind and friendly and my experience was relaxed for both me and my pets.
As far as cleanliness goes, it’s always absolutely spotless. If any animal has an accident it’s cleaned up quickly and with assurances that it’s alright it happens all the time don’t be embarrassed. It smells pleasant too, no ‘kennel’ smell.
Over all I would highly recommend Doctor Farrar to anyone who needs an excellent Vet. They’re professional, very fair priced, genuinely caring and just good people. I live in murrieta but happily drive to Corona just to see them and I can’t imagine going with any other Vet.
