Im satisfied with Grumpy Dan’s name change and all. Now Bayside grill. A few changes have been made not to my whole liking sadly. I am still a fan, It is just that edamame night and got rid of some of the sliders and got rid of a lot of my old favorites I also enjoy the similar golfing crowd. I miss the old. Still has an amazing happy our 3.00 wells from 3pm through pm. I mainly play golf early morning sometimes and hit up the foods after the day is over. Thanks for the fun times!

Went here for their prime rib Thursday. It was good, but the rib eye steak was better. Wonderful view! We didn’t rate a table with a tablecloth or anywhere close to the windows, maybe because we aren’t locals??? Décor needs update. Keep the chairs with wheels. So comfy.

I’m a regular, and I like the service, the prices, and the staff that work at Grumpy Dan’s. Dorene and Robby are great!!! I can’t believe more people don’t come to Grumpy Dan’s!!!

I’m still in awe that five beers + three appetizers split three ways came out $ 7 per person. Wow! We will definitely return for happy hour. Ample parking, great view, great prices.

Amazing Happy Hour! $ 3 wells and appetizers and a gorgeous view of the golf course greens, bayfront and Coronado Bridge to boot! They have an awesome Prime Rib night on Thursdays where I think it’s $ 20 for a salad and Prime Rib dinner. Overall a good, solid spot to hang.

Excellent location, beautiful panorama out to the Golf course and bay. Staff & service excellent, especially the waiter Sebastian what looks like he has everything under control. Bar service quick and very knowledgeable(Excellent). Food served quick and is perfect don’t matter what I order I never never don’t like it. The place has an «Family» atmosphere and you fell right away welcome, the landscape is beautiful, and after a perfect Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner close enough to go for a walk at the Coronado Beach. To the Guys and girls at Grumpy Dan’s Grill keep up the exceptionally good work!!!

My friend took me here for happy hour. Awesome prices and good selection of food and drinks(well, except for the beer maybe). Their app menu is $ 3 during happy hour. I tred the crab cakes and street tacos. The crab cakes are a good size and you get two of them. The tacos are tasty and there’s three small ones. My friend and I ordered two plates of tacos. There was a mixup or something and had to wait a bit for the second plate. Later, bartender came up and said there was a mixup in the lichen and asked us if we’d like the plate of nachos she was holding. Free nachos? How could we possibly say no? Overall a great experience. Cheap beer and cheap food makes for a good happy hour.

Came across this place thru BuyWithMe and since I was gonna be in the San Diego area I’ll give it a try. Glad I did! Came on July 4th and though their were parking all were taken due to people setting up base for the nearby fireworks. Took husband 30 minutes to find a spot down a neighborhood street. Food was great. I had the fresh Mahi salad and so cheap! Husband and kids had the angus burgers and said they were good also. The waiter was great. We took the patio sitting and oh what amazing views! Only reason why I didn’t give this place a 5* is because while we were seated, a waiter carrying a big tray dropped it and started using the f*** word repeatedly! So unprofessional and around kids!

The view in this place is amazing! A friend of mine recommended it to me mainly for their happy hour so I decided to make the trip over the bridge and check it out. What a great place to chill out, the service was very friendly and the happy hour menu was an awesome deal… everything just 3 dollar woo hoo! Saying that I actually ended up ordering off the regular menu and decided on the healthy choice, a ceasar wrap with tilapia and a pint of Guinness… and yes Guinness is good for you!!! And it was poured properly(well the bartender was Irish so what do you expect) Anyway all in all I was very happy and would come again!

Long time San Diego Native here and I had never gone to the Coronado golf course until last sunday, but man am I going back soon. Not only does the course make me feel good about my golf skills but the Clubhouse or Grumpy Dans grill or whatever its called makes my taste buds feel even better. I was lucky enough to finish my round in time for their 3 – 6 Happy hour and thats when the tastiness… oh and the drinking began. This place has one of the best happy hours I have ever been to, how can you beat huge nachos for 3 bucks and pints at two dollars? But not only is the food great, this place has a really nice feel. Its a great place to watch sports(they have a bunch of tv’s) but its also big enough so you can sit away from the bar and enjoy a GREAT view of San Diego bay in peace(glad I brought my girlfriend). I am definitely going back and will have to try some things off of their real menu next time.

Before I even get into the details of some of the worst service I’ve EVER had, I have to mention that this place is beyond difficult to find. It’s located inside a golf club, on a golf course, that is just an empty banquet room stated as «The Clubhouse: Bar & Grill» …not even«Grumpy Dan’s». CONFUSING. My boyfriend bought a Buy With Me coupon where it specifically stated in the description«Don’t let the name fool you, Grumpy Dan’s is all about customer service and providing guests with a fun, laid back dining experience.» — HA! ANYTHINGBUT! We walked into the banquet room where seemingly no one was around to greet us and took a seat. Our waitress came over a few minutes later and asked us if we needed menus. Once we decided on what we were going to order, I asked T for a Veggie Burger with no lettuce. After taking the rest of my order(what type of bread, cheese, side dish, etc.) I reiterated that I wanted to make sure she got NOLETTUCE. She confirmed that she had«got it». The burgers came out and once she walked away, I noticed… LETTUCE! And she had forgotten the dill sauce that came with both our burgers. After trying to make eye contact with her while she flirted with the bartender for what seemed like forever, my boyfriend got up to ask her if we could get the dill sauce that was supposed to come with our burgers. As he approached her at the bar I WATCHED her walk away from him and continue asking another table if they needed anything else. After he asked her for the sauce she continued cleaning up and folding napkins before returning with the bland/tasteless sauce minutes later. Back to the food for a second. The ciabatta bread was hard as a rock, the veggie patty was a sorry excuse passing as «food», the gouda cheese wasn’t even melted(or warm?) and the lettuce was everywhere! And my side salad? Forget about it, soggy and pathetic. So when T finally brought the dill sauce back to our table she looked directly at my boyfriends empty pepsi glass and never came back with a refill. NOTONCE did she come back and ask us how our dinner was. When she came back to take our plates, she still didn’t ask us if we needed our drinks refilled, nor realized the lettuce that was strewn all over my plate and was completely oblivious of the look of anger on my face and had total disregard for us. I work in the service industry as well and I know firsthand what it takes to make tips and leave your customers feeling good/wanting to come back; you must be nice, listen and check up on people. It really isn’t that hard.

Grumpy Dans is a class act located at the Coronado golf course. Their prime rib is one of the best I have ever had. Beautiful grounds, spotless interior with full bar. I go there for the happy hour where at $ 2 a beer you would be hard pressed to find anything comparable in Coronado. No congestion, traffic or parking problems. It’s hard to beat the location, views, accessibility, quality and broad scope of food items or the prices, especially for such a nice place«on the Island».
