Terrible!!! – The owners see fit to have ONE waiter on duty for the ENTIRE restaurant most nights. Accordingly, the service SUCKS!!! It is not uncommon to come in there and wait 30 minutes at a table before even being acknowledged – Not the waiter’s fault, they are overworked. This is not a private establishment, it is run by the city, and totally mismanaged. Imagine the DMV being in charge of a restaurant. That’s what this place is. Another issue is that the building was constructed by the lowest bidder I guess, and often when one walks in, there is a smell of sewage which apparently backs up into the kitchen, and where they prepare food, they are sloshing around in it. They try to cover up the smell but it doesn’t work. They must be paying off people to pass them on the sanitation inspections. This could be a great establishment, it has a great location, but unfortunately it’s ruined by incompetence and likely contaminated food. If you smell sewage when you walk in, they’re having a backup and you should probably go somewhere else. Plus, unless you like being ignored by the one waiter on duty for the entire freaking place, you’ll be disappointed in the service.

The view is 5 star the food is delicious and 4 star worthy for sure. The service is always great. We come for brunch and always leave very happy. My favorite is their bacon is always cooked perfect!

Coronado Bayside Grill is worth a visit. The atmosphere is high energy and the food is delicious. The bar scene is what you would expect considering the location. In the end, the food stands on its own. The pork belly is out of this world…

This is an interesting little grill that’s tucked inside the relatively swank Coronado Golf Club. During normal hours, oxygen tanks and tennis ball-equipped walkers abound here, as does the smell of old money and people who tend to talk through their clenched teeth, peering at you over their slightly raised nose. You kind of get the Caddyshack image of Judge Smails telling Dangerfield«YOU! YOUUUUU! You’ll NEVER be a member at Bushwood!»(as he shakes his putter at him). Yeah, kind of like that. BUT… Decent place for a banquet, as they helped us host our Mar Vista Football Mariners(made it 2 games into CIF!) for their year-end get-together. The décor was good as always, but having the buffet outside, on the cold patio, was a major point deduction. Service was a bit disjointed, and several of us were a bit unhappy with the staff talking loudly in the back of the room while coaches gave their heartfelt send-offs to their outgoing Senior players. If you’ve ever played High School football, or had a kid in it, you know that these introductions can get very emotional; tears and hugs can flow freely on both sides. It didn’t help to have water and plate staff congregated in the back of the room snickering away at some Facebook post they were all looking at. The food was universally well-prepared, with excellent Chicken Parm(you taste so good… lol), Baked Ziti and a solid Caesar Salad with quality giant croutons. Some other pasta and vegetable options were tasty as well, but the warmers having been placed outside was a downer– A lot of the food just wasn’t hot enough in the chilly weather. Good spot overall. Bring your argyle knickers and monocle.

Stopped in for a quick breakfast before running some Sunday errands. It was pretty busy but definitely not understaffed. The food was OK definitely nothing to write home about. The prices were average for Coronado. The staff was nice but our waitress in particular was SO slow and busy chatting up her other tables that I think we saw her twice. Another waitress(she said she’s been working there about 2 months) refilled our waters and checked on us more than once and was greatly appreciated! I had to up and grab our waitress for our bill and now I’m actually writing this as I’ve been waiting 15 minutes for our waitress to take our credit card. I ended up handing it to another waitress to give to her. Don’t mean to be a nag but it was ridiculous. The view definitely can’t be beat. Wouldn’t come back for breakfast but would give their happy hour a try for half price appetizers, $ 3 wells and domestics.

This is a «locals secret» for breakfast or lunch. The food is good– especially the prime rib machaca platter — and the view is lovely. Because it is a few blocks off the beaten path, most of the tourists don’t know about it which means there usually isn’t a wait. You can sit inside or outside, and the prices are really fair, $ 9−12/pp for breakfast.

Breakfast with a View. We came across the golf course at the end of our bike ride and stopped for a late breakfast. We had Eggs Benedict and the Machaca Platter. Both were fantastic. We especially enjoyed the rosemary potatoes. Delicious.

I was reluctant to try this restaurant because of some of the reviews I read. Based on the reviews, I figured I could deal with the mediocre service if the food was good. I’m glad I gave it a try despite some of the negative reviews on service. My husband and I went on a Thursday for the prime rib special. We had great, great service and the prime rib was delicious! You can’t beat the price for a good prime rib dinner!

The view is fantastic! This is the perfect place to grab a sandwich and enjoy the Coronado weather. I had a Reuben sandwich which was very good. My daughter had a chicken Caesar wrap that was also very wood. The waiter was very friendly. I recommend this place.

Dinner review(Not on Prime Rib night) It’s a golf course grill so expectation are tempered quite a bit. However, there were too many issues to justify the high price. The Fish — Disgusting(frozen hopefully), when you factor in the price of 20+ bucks hopefully it’s only your pocket book that ends up sick. The French Dip — Recommended. Good balance of meat /cheese /bread and a nice side car of horseradish. Kids meals are okay for the price(about 4 bucks) but keep in mind that portions are on the small side. The Burger is a slider which is great for 3 – 5 year olds, but may not be enough for 6+. Service and preparation Service — There were a lot of little mess ups. For example, happy hour drinks came were posted at full price on the bill. Two exact sandwiches were ordered but one was missing a pickle spear. Caesar salad was completely flooded with dressing. Little things like these add up fast. — Like others have mentioned, service is a bit slow. — If you’re not coming on Thursday or Sunday(Prime Rib Nights) than you really don’t need a reservation. In Summation My sandwich was pretty good, and the views are pretty nice. Locals flock here for the Prime Rib night twice a week, so perhaps come here then.

What a pleasant surprise! Great views and delicious food, at a reasonable price. Servers Sebastian and Jacob were awesome! I took off a star for minor service issues… when we were asked if we had a reservation, and said no, the hostess seemed a little put out – though she did warm up later. A busboy came by to bring us water, and I was surprised that he didn’t ask first(given our severe drought). When my friend mentioned that she would like water without ice, he rolled his eyes as he walked away to get her a new glass. I would go back in a heartbeat… very enjoyable meal!

We’ve been coming here each summer for 4 – 5 years but we’re disappointed this time. Service was poor. We had a 6PM reservation and they were already out of my favorite tap beer which was the Happy Hour special. So I ordered a bottle of beer and waiter brought w/o glass. I asked for glass and it took him 5 minutes to bring it. We ordered dinner but they were out of soup special they had posted at hostess station. Waiter asked if we wanted bread but then it never came. Waiter disappeared so I needed to ask another worker for a second drink and bread. Prime rib was OK but my wife’s shrimp scampi was not. Shrimp were rubbery, sauce was soupy and tasteless. Bread arrived after dinner! Very disappointing.
