*Event Services* We decided to have our wedding reception here. Working with Greta was like pulling teeth, but they had everything we needed to get access for our non DOD guests and even had a booklet with recommended vendors for our cake, dj, photographer and videographer. The reason I am giving them a 3 star review is the food quality. We chose to have a seated 3 course dinner for about $ 55/person instead of a buffet. The prime rib was not quality cuts, I spent more time trimming the fat off of it than I did eating it. The Rigatoni pasta vegetarian option looked and tasted like a microwave pasta meal. I was told by several guests that the chicken was very good. The vegetables were not well seasoned. In addition, you must pay for at least 75 adult meals, which for us meant that our party of less than 100 had children as young as 3 eating an adult meal. They have an optional childrens dish which consists of only chicken tenders and some fruit(no second option) but you can only offer the childrens dish to guests once you’ve paid for the 75 adult meals. They have soda machines, but the only non alcoholic beverages were water and punch. There is the option to pay for your guests drinks or provide them a pony keg or full keg of beer. Another issue we had was scheduling conflicts. The base church had to have us out by 4pm for catholic baptisms but because this restaurant is a part of the golf course we couldnt access the dining area to start setting up until 5:30pm, leaving our guests a 2 hour lull between the ceremony and reception. The standard event time frame is 4 hours not including setup, but when you can start setting up is at the establishments convenience, not yours. There was the option to pay for an additional hour of party time. If we ever decide to hold a function again it will not be here. They may have beaten the price points of similar venues we looked at(Bonita golf course, several hotel facilities) but what they offered should have been better customer service and better food for 55/plate for 90 people. Do the math.

We held our wedding reception for about 100 guests at the 19th Hole on 9÷5÷15. Our guests raved about the appetizers and buffet dinner, especially the prime rib. The catering manager was a pleasure to work with, the staff was very friendly, and the venue was perfect for accommodating a dance floor and live band. Overall, it was a lovely setting, delicious food, plenty of parking, and a wonderful evening for family and friends.

Best breakfast on base! I cannot speak on for lunch or dinner but the guys and I always come here for breakfast. Pancakes are always cooked well, bacon always thick, eggs never runny! The juice is always fresh. Also the establishment is always clean and never crowded when we come. Even for just one host working our food comes pretty quick.

Ate here a couple of times for lunch while staying at the base. It was close and convenient and has a great view of the greens(since it is on the golf course) if you sit outside. Prices range from $ 2.50 for a hotdog to $ 8.95 for the chicken avocado club. There is also a weekday lunch buffet for $ 10.75 or $ 11.75 depending on the day. Its a very casual place and you just order al the bar during lunch. I don’t know if it is any different at dinner. I had the chicken avocado club. It comes with cheese and bacon too. It was a real chicken breast and not sliced processed chicken so that was great. Fries were nice and crispy. You have a choice of fries, potato salad, cole slaw or sweet potato fries. I also had the ruben. It comes with sauerkraut and thousand on the side. The corn beef was good but there was way too much sauerkraut so it made the sandwich too sour. I had to pull some of it out. I had it with sweet potato fries. The fries were nothing to write home about… soft and soggy. I will stick to the regular fries next time. Good food for decent prices and I will be back if I stay on the base again.

Pros: I’ll get back to you on that… Cons: they wouldn’t allow us to combine two tables together to accommodate our group of 17 people. It was not like the place was crowded – not even anywhere near halfway packed. Cons: we went on Seafood Friday for their buffet, and the only seafood they had were fried catfish, thawed shrimp, and a pasta salad that had canned tuna(not enough to call it a tuna pasta salad). Where’s the crab legs? mussels? oysters? other fish? I’ve been to cheaper buffets that had much more variety. Cons: my roasted chicken was cold. It’s been sitting in a food warmer for a long time before I even got to it, so why would it be cold? Cons: shortly after our group paid, they turned off the lights on the register and the cashiers, chefs, and bussers all went to lunch… they decided to eat whatever was on the buffet tables and sat all in a big table. Cons: as a result of them going to lunch, we were running out of food to pick from. Only 2 pieces of chicken left, no more catfish, no more tartar sauce, no more clam chowder(already low to begin with) and very few shrimp(it looked like a fish market where they poured the ice over the shrimp to keep it cool overnight)…you couldn’t pick up a few shrimp without picking up ice! Cons: a random customer was getting ice cream from the soft serve, but ran out, and had to ask the bartender if they can make more. The bartender looked at the staff that were eating, and basically said no. Cons: so the website said they were open til 3pm(sign outside said they’re open til 3pm)…the cashiers said they were open til 2pm, but the chefs and bartender said they’re open til 1pm. It was not even 1pm, and they ran out of food. Cons: while the staff was eating, there were customers in line at the register waiting to pay for a plate to eat. It was sad. Cons: I noticed a customer walking out of the restaurant with an empty to-go box, as there were no food to grab. Cons: it was just passed 1pm(maybe 1:05ish) and already 4 random customers were asking for more food. At other buffets I’ve been to, they stopped sitting people after a certain time, but the chefs continued bringing out food for the customers that were still eating. I barely had two plates, not because I was getting full, but because they ran out of food and didn’t bring more out. Ok, fine– they did bring out a half-filled half tray of catfish, and a less than half-full bowl of thawed shrimp, and a full bowl of tartar sauce… what a waste of sauce… Pros: they didn’t run out of fountain drinks. I was able to get myself a second cup of soda. Cons: I put my second cup of soda down, went to another table to talk, and came back with the soda gone, because one of the bussers came and cleaned up the table. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. I was very excited to try it out as I’ve seen banners for it leaving the base every day, and now that I’ve finally tried it – I’ve never been so disappointed in my life. This place doesn’t even deserve a full star.

Before Magic Mountain, the bf and I decided to eat before we get to the park and gas up on base so it’s cheaper. My bf said he used to come here before it was called 19th Hole. We entered and were greeted by a nice lady. She asked us if we were here for breakfast and if we wanted Bloody Marys. We were like«sure.»
I ordered chicken fried steak and it came with bread(I chose wheat), eggs(sunny side up), and hash browns. It did fill me up but it wasn’t like the best I ever had. It did the job. The bf ordered steak and eggs. He killed that one… as in he finished it.
Overall, the waitress was very friendly and helpful, but breakfast was about average. If you have access into base and into playing some golf, why not putt on down to the 19th Hole.

Quit dedicating a whole buffet theme each week to Philipino food! Nothing against philipino food in general but it is never crowded on those days… it is obvious you are doing less business on those days and I hate it… I groan just reading the word«lumpia» I realize I am just yelling in a void, but I sure do feel a lot better now.
