So I «won» a free facial in a drawing for spending x amount of money here… I showed up at the scheduled time… only 1 clerk working… she was helping a lady buying almost $ 400 worth of crap… so I waited around she said she’d be with me shortly everything is ok… then another lady comes in, and then another one after her… so I’m thinking how is this chick going to do my facial and help the 2 that came in after me… well here’s how it went down… she helped the 2nd lady first, without even asking me what I want even though she clearly knew I had been waiting longest … Then like magic, another clerk appeared from the back room… she asked me what I wanted, and I said I have a 1pm appt for facial… It was about 1:15 at this time… she goes behind the counter to check if I’m scheduled I guess, but the phone rings… so now she’s on the phone… when she’s done with the phone call she starts walking towards me, but was intercepted by lady #2…she looks at me and says she’ll be right with me… I thought… this is poor customer service for me… not the other 2 lady’s they helped before me… so I’ll let them write the positive review for this place… and I’ll shop else where…

Okay, so you don’t have the time(or money) for a full spa day. Then stop by Aveda for a little pampering. The employees here are quick to offer you a cup of tea and a hand massage. Once I even got my hair fishtail braided. They’re very knowledgeable about their products and seem to have tried everything in the store. It’s tempting not to buy a bunch of different items when you can exchange reward points for facials and massages at their other salons. I’ve tried a few of their different hair care lines and have been happy overall. I was drawn to Aveda because their products are made from naturally derived ingredients, but be warned that some of their shampoos and conditioners have quite a strong smell. I’d recommend the smooth infusion style-prep smoother, which works magic on keeping your hair frizz-free.

I love the products but will just buy them online from now on. I am SOSICK of going into this store to buy the product I need and the staff is ALWAYS trying to up sell or sell something new. I mean really how many products does my hair really need? I refuse the tea because I am sure they will sell me that also. If the company requires that the staff do this then I feel sorry for the staff — it is so annoying that I can’t wait to get out of there!!! And now they have stopped taking back items for recycle — yes the plastic pumps and lids that they sell you — they will no longer recycle so if you get a «natural eco feeling» in there — you are fooled. I just cannot express how much I hate shopping this store!

I absolutely LOVE Aveda products and everything I buy there is always wonderful, BUT the salesperson at the store when I went in last Saturday was so incredibly rude, I seriously thought about not buying anything. She probably rolled her eyes at me 10 times during a 5 minute span, sarcastically answered all my questions and seemed like she would rather be doing anything but helping me. If I didn’t need the product I came in for, I would have just walked out on the spot. It was horrible customer service and to be spending so much money on their products, I would expect much better employees, but I will always LOVE their products, I will probably just order online now.

This Aveda store(like all Aveda stores) smells wonderful. A family member uses their hair products, so I’m in the store at least twice a year buying products or gift cards. The service is friendly and perfectly nice. Many commenters note the botanical-based product ingredients. Weellll, yes and no. Aveda does use a lot of water-based plant extracts, but they use plenty of other ingredients as well. Here is a list of ingredients for the color conserve shampoo(below). I have to call b.s. on the no-chemicals/all-natural schtick(and, by the way, «all natural» does not mean good for you, e.g. tobacco, asbestos, poison oak, etc.) I like the products OK, I think the store is nice(thus the 4 star rating), but their marketing annoys me. AQUEOUS(PURIFIEDWATER) EXTRACTS: CAMELLIASINENSISEXTRACT, CITRUSAURANTIUMAMARAPEELEXTRACT(BITTERORANGE), ASTRAGALUSMEMBRANACEUSROOTEXTRACT(MILKVETCH), SCHIZANDRACHINENSISFRUITEXTRACT, PINUSTABULAEFORMISBARKEXTRACT(PINE), VITISVINIFERASEEDEXTRACT(GRAPE), SEDUMROSEAROOTEXTRACT, REHMANNIACHINENSISROOTEXTRACT;, AMMONIUMLAURYLSULFATE, DISODIUMLAURETHSULFOSUCCINATE, LAURAMIDOPROPYLBETAINE, CINNAMIDOPROPYLTRIMONIUMCHLORIDE, QUATERNIUM-80, PEG-7DIMETHICONEC8-C18ESTER, BABASSUAMIDOPROPYLBETAINE, GUARHYDROXYPROPYLTRIMONIUMCHLORIDE, AMYLSALICYLATE, AMYLCINNAMATE, LYCOPENE, LECITHIN, TETRAHEXYDECYLASCORBATE, TOCOPHEROL, SUCROSEPALMITATE, STEARAMIDOPROPYLDIMETHYLAMINE, GLYCOLSTEARATE, GLYCOLDISTEARATE, POLYGLYCERYL-10OLEATE, POLYQUATERNIUM-7, FRAGRANCE, CISTUSLABDANIFERUSOIL, GLYCERIN, CITRICACID, DISODIUMEDTA, PROPYLPARABEN, METHYLPARABEN, METHYLISOTHIAZOLINONE, METHYLCHLOROISOTHIAZOLINONE

I love the store and their products, but I cannot stand how all the employees are constantly trying to upsale. I went in to buy the rosemary mint shampoo, and she tried to get me to get the bigger size, and when I declined she tried to get me to buy the conditioner also. I did not even want to deal with the free styling and massage because I new it meant more pressure. Then I went in yesterday to get the comforting tea which I LOVE, and she tried to get me to buy the more expensive loose-leaf version and claim that it was better(they taste the same). I also agreed to sign up for the frequent purchaser program, but she absolutely did not mention that it cost 10 $ to sign up. Isn’t that kind of relevant? I love the products, but I hate going in there. If the products are good, they should speak for themselves.

I stopped in this store today on my way home from work. I was sent home for having the bubons, but was completely out of shampoo and had to stop in an act of desperation. I had never been to this particular store, so I did not know what to expect. Even though I went in disheveled and looking like I was on death’s door, the sales women were INCREDIBLY nice to me. It also felt like they were genuinely nice, not just sales people wanting to sell to you. One asked if I’d like for her to style my hair and I said«Honestly, yes, but I am so sick I really need to just get my shampoo and go home. I am totally out and HAD to stop.» So she offered me tea instead, and gave me a card with a couple products circled that I hadn’t tried before, but would work well on my hair. She said just take the card and when I’m feeling better come back and try the new stuff. She rang me up quickly and I was on my way. The other sales woman had heard me mention I wasn’t feeling well, so on the way out they both wished me a speedy recovery. I highly recommend this store! I will come here for all my Aveda shopping.

I really enjoy walking into this store! Smells wonderful and the customer service has always been excellent! I am a fan of Aveda products, but this store stands out for me because of the women working there. They really know(and seem to love) the products so have been so very helpful whenever I have any kind of question. I can just tell them about what look I am wanting with my hair or what issue I am having and they sit me down and pamper me with products until I find one that works for me. I also appreciate that they never make me feel bad when I walk out without buying anything! I hope these women are getting paid their worth!

My review is as much about the products as it is about the store. First the store — nice design, well stocked and friendly staff that don’t try to shove things down your throat. They are helpful, knowledgeable about the products & immediately make you feel welcome. Now, the products — Everything I have ever purchased from Aveda has worked perfectly. Their hand and foot creams keep my appendages feeling smooth as butter during the cold dry winters and hot dry summers. Their hair products, of which I have tried many — Brilliant, Be Curly, Smooth Infusion… all leave my hair perfectly manageable, soft, shiny, gorgeous. I get amazing compliments from people I know and complete strangers :) All products are botanical, no chemicals so use knowing you are doing the right thing for your body and the environment. Yes, pricey but Aveda is a good example of, you get what you pay for. I will never shy away from spending my hard-earned money for excellent products that do what they say they will do.

Fantastic customer service and no hard-sell means I walk out with a LOT of product. I was offered both tea AND a hand massage even before it was clear I was going to spend $ there. I love Aveda’s commitment to social responsibility and the environment and that seems to carry through to their stores on the street, not just up at the corporate level. Their smooth infusion shampoo/conditioner/glossing straightener is incredible — now i just blow dry and don’t have to use a flat iron at all — which is exactly what the salesperson told me.

This is my new and probably going to be the only go-to place for make-up and body and skin care. I love their products! It’s quite on the expensive side but I think it’s oh so worth it. Aveda produces only botanically based products. All of their products are naturally derived so you won’t find any harmful chemicals here. Like just this Sunday I was there to replenish my make-up essentials. I wanted to get a moisturizer as well but asked for one with SPF30 or higher. They said they only have SPF15s. They won’t go higher than that because that meant they would have to use chemicals. Not only does this place help me look good they teach me something too. Fabulous! Oh, and if you can you must try their tea! It smells divine and tastes like heaven. I can sit on my couch and plop the bottle(I buy the loose leaf but they also sell it in tea bags) under my nose and sniff it all night. Their products are just delicious for my face and body. Plus I feel like I’m not contributing as much in the pollution of our planet(I’m trying to be pro-active in going green). They are environmentally mindful of their packaging; which means they minimize their packaging, maximize the use of post-consumer recycled materials, they use materials that can be and are recyclable and they design their packaging so that the individual parts can be separated for recycling. They also work with suppliers who manufacture their packaging materials using renewable energy. How awesome is that? Like I said, their products lean more on pricey. I wouldn’t mind the price tags being lower but then again I don’t use make-up everyday so my stash lasts me quite awhile. I get my stuff here because of the quality of the products and because they help me lower my environmental footprint. Yummy and green. Can’t beat that.

A beautiful Aveda location with an excellent selection/stock in store. Much nicer than my regular haunt at Stonestown. I’m a sucker for their hair product. I don’t use Aveda shampoos(honestly, just don’t notice enough of a difference to warrant the premium), but I feel a need for their product. Hang Straight(hair straightener) is a must, also love their gel texturizer and light serum. Anyway — a good place to stock up. My reward points BETTER get me something good… :)
