I just left the salon beaming from ear to ear! Jill was an absolute doll and really listened to me. She was so communicative and professional and it made the whole experience a great one. I got an even better haircut than I had expected and found a lasting stylist who I will absolutely be returning to! I can’t say enough how welcoming and friendly Jill and everyone else was, and that’s a rare find at a salon. Thank you Jill!

I have been going to Plum for about a year now but I think it takes time to really feel out a salon. I had been looking a place for about 8 months after my previous stylist — well, let’s just say it was too much trouble. I had tried a few different places with varied results until I really got my hair screwed up by another salon in El Cerrito.
Lynsie helped my baby fine hair get back to normal (it took a few appointments so my hair could grow out) with a beautiful color. I am growing it out after years of really short hair and she is able to make it look really great every time with the changes in length.
Lynsie and the rest of her crew are relaxed and all are friendly. I love coming here and my hair feels and looks so great. On a nice day, ask to sit on the patio in the back.

I’m new to the area and I made an appointment at this salon based on the reviews and the fact that it is an Aveda salon. Also, the price was right. I came in for a trim and mentioned to the stylist that I did NOT want any major changes because my wedding is in a month. I wanted the split ends trimmed off only. The stylist apparently does not understand curly hair and proceeded to cut in layers that make my hair appear 2 – 3 inches shorter than what it is. It’s challenging to manage now because of all the volume that I didn’t need.
The salon is beautiful and has a serene and unique back patio/​waiting area. The stylist was quite friendly and she performed a relaxing scalp massage that was awesome. I wish that I could chance it and give the salon another try, but the cut was too disappointing.

Lynsie is a true artist with scissors. She gave me exactly what I asked for, and she was professional yet warm and sweet. Fantastic experience, and I highly recommend her!

I actually found Plum Salon via Unilocal about a year ago and because of it’s convenient location and good reviews I decided to give it a try and was given an appointment with Cindy. Because I had just had horrible highlights done previously by someone else, I wasn’t sure how much help she could be but was more than excited about the results as she really worked with me and my hair to get it back to looking normal and healthy and now we are even able to experiment with more color which is awesome!
Cindy’s great and easy to work with, always makes good recommendations if I’m feeling indecisive, and I end up leaving feeling very happy with my hair. Other aspects of this salon I find positive are the atmosphere, which is very relaxed and friendly, the prices are reasonable, and the Aveda products are great, without them pushing them on you to buy them though!
This is definitely a salon I enjoy visiting and would actually recommend to others.

I’ve been getting my hair done by Lynsie for years now and am so happy I came across her! I highly recommend her and the crew at Plum Salon. It’s a fun, sweet place to spend time and be pampered. The parking is a breeze and the neighborhood is beautiful. If you’re wanting to enjoy yourself and have folks compliment you on your hair, this is the place to be.

Love Lynsie — great cuts and color than doesn’t disappoint. I moved to Aveda several years ago after developing an allergy to traditional hair dyes. Lynsie is careful to make sure I don’t get much dye on my scalp when highlighting my hair to minimize any reaction. It’s great to support a small business owner who has really dedicated herself to giving her clients a fabulous experience. Highly recommend.

Lynsie and the Plum Salon crew are über professional yet relaxed and down to earth. No attitude here! I feel like I’m hanging out with my best girlfriends when I go to Plum… I love the yummy Aveda products and tea. Great music. I love the cozy, canopied outdoor «room» where you can get some fresh air (without being seen in foils publicly).
Always easy to park. Never been kept waiting. Really awesome cushiony neck support and lux chairs for shampooing. Absolutely worth every penny. No matter what, I always walk out of Plum looking — and feeling — my best!

I have been wanting to write this review since Lynsie opened up Plum Salon but just haven’t had a chance. I have been going to Lynsie for three years now and have followed her from other salons here. She is AMAZING! After getting my hair highlighted in London and NYC, I didn’t know that the best colorist for my blonde hair would be here in Marin.
Lynsie is supremely talented whether you want to go more natural or even a more drastic change in color. She will listen to what you want and make you look fabulous every time.
When I first started going to Lynsie, my hair was so damaged after a stylist in NY did a keratin treatment on it and fried my ends. With Lynsie’s help and guidance, my hair is now healthy looking again. She knew which products would help restore my hair’s strength and shine and gave me great advice.
Not only is Lynsie gifted in the art of hair color, she is also the sweetest person and just a joy to spend time with. She is very professional as well and manages her salon extremely well. The salon is very light, airy and relaxing. It’s a great place to unwind with some pampering and a cup of Aveda tea.
I get compliments on my hair all the time and people always think my color is natural, which is the biggest praise someone could give.
I highly recommend Plum Salon. I would give it six stars if I could.
