Brand new and the friendliest staff! This is like a mini jewel in Cortland. Traveling through on way to philly with best friend and so glad we stopped. Immaculate and the beds are supremely comfortable. Very spacious rooms too. Fantastic experience! I wish every hotel stop lived up to these standards!

As I am writing this review, I am listening to what sounds like a stampede of elephants above my head. From the moment we arrived here, we can hear everything from the room above us. If this doesn’t bother you, it won’t be a problem. But it drives me nuts. I don’t know if there is a gymnastics team up there, or just normal people walking across their room. But there are soundproofing technologies that have been used for years in higher class hotels that eliminate this type of impact noise. Not here. The sound is transferred down to our room and it is LOUD and ANNOYING. Also, can someone please design and door latching system that doesn’t cause all the doors in the hall to slam shut when they close? This hotel is obviously built so cheaply that there is no soundproofing between rooms whatsoever. I personally would never stay here again under any circumstances. And if sleeping is important to you, I would not recommend it either. If you have to stay here, get a room on the top floor to avoid the elephant stampede.

I’ve mixed feelings about the place, coupled some with minor amenity issues, but complicated with incredibly friendly staff and decent complementary breakfasts. We stayed here for our friend’s wedding, and the staff allowed us to throw a party at the lounge, use their amenities and were incredibly courteous. The breakfast was complimentary, with cereal, yogurt, eggs, toast, and 24⁄7 free coffee, some of the most decent I’ve had. I do wish that our room had decent amenities as well. The tub was clogged after a few hours and I wished I had talked to the staff before we left. The TV had ample channels and the wifi very useful throughout the entire stay. The gym is… tiny, to be sure, but open 24⁄7. There’s also a decent sized swimming pool, although it does close at 10pm. Overall, even though the cost may have been a bit pricey and our bathroom had minor plumbing issues, I still had a good time and would recommend coming here again, if you’re around the area, of course. There’s a very long NY-13 highway and has very well-paved on the sides; I recommend running along it if you’re bored.

My family was in town for a wedding — we just stayed overnight. Arrived before check in time and Jim at the front desk was very accommodating and had our rooms ready very quickly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Pleasant experience. Would stay here again.

So my mom and I chose this hotel when visiting family in Cortland for a week in mid August. She wanted a room in Cortland… while I would’ve preferred a place somewhere on one of the bigger lakes. We booked here because the rooms looked a tad bit bigger and the hotel appeared newer. I also had a good experience with this chain in mammoth the year prior. We arrived super late… the airlines lost our luggage… our flight into Syracuse was cancelled so we didn’t arrive till 330 a.m. and had to drive from rochester… we had nothing. The guy checking in(who liked like a college kid) was very sweet and empathetic to our misfortune. He gave us toothbrushes and toothpaste and said he would be on the lookout for our luggage. The people that work here are nice. Now about our room and stay: The good: nice friendly staff, nice new room with comfortable beds plus a spacious sitting area, good location if your looking to be in the cortland area. just far enough out of town to be quiet(maybe except for the minature golf course next door where you could hear music from the parking lot) also convenient for Ithaca. The bad: the deal breaker for me was a complete lack of decent coffee in the morning. Upon waking the first day… I went down at 11am looking for my cup of joe. I had seen a machine that said they served dewie Egberts… however the coffee came out like water and the kid had to change it. I saw what they put in their machine and it is folders liquid in a box that they nuke in the microwave to defrost. It tasted like complete shit and I love my coffee. The in room coffee maker spit out something worse and I was forced to choke down a crappy cup every a.m. till I could get a decent cup elsewhere. FYI coffemania is the place to go. This was a huge disappointment for me and I would look elsewhere next time I’m in Cortland just on this point alone. So minus one star for lack of decent coffee. They also offer a free breakfast that consists of bananas, apples, cereal, powdered eggs, sausage and waffles. Can’t complain cause it was free but I could only eat the bananas… really the rest wasn’t very good. We took off another star for the horrible way our room was cleaned. If you stay at a hotel and You let them clean your room they ought to do a good job. Our floors weren’t cleaned, nor was the hair in the sink even wiped out… our beds were thrown together and some of the pillows were left in the floor. Overall this was my mom’s chief complaint. One day we actually left the empty toilet paper roll out along with the empty tissue box and it wasn’t replaced… I had to call down. Pathetic really. Overall 3 stars is a fair rating. This place is new and the rooms are nice but there is room for improvement. Coffee is cheap and a clean room makes for a happy mom.
