Ok — I wasn’t expecting Michelin star quality here to begin with but for $ 19 for a mushroom lasagna, I was expecting a little better quality and portion than the stuff I get from the frozen food aisle at the supermarket. I was completely duped! This is the portion that I received via takeout(minus one potatoe wedge… it came with two). The lasagna was half an inch thick with mostly cheese and pasta. Where’s the mushroom, pesto, ricotta and all the other ingredients? I can’t believe they try to pass this off as a dish in a restaurant! Never again!

A sweet restaurant which used to be an old school. We sat outside while enjoying a hot summer evening. The food is wonderful, we had the cod and salmon, both of them are delicious and feels like they are using the best ingredient. All the staff there are so friendly, attentive and humble. We came here after a day in Bear Mountain, and would really recommend anybody who visits Bear Mountain and need somewhere to recharge on they way back.

Awesome place! Staff is amazing and attentive, the food service is fast, and the ambience is a comfy old library/school vibe. Overall, I definitely recommend coming here. The price you pay for the quality of food is great.

This time around was much better, I wasn’t trying to be an ahole with my 1st review, it’s just that, how are they gonna know if something’s no good if everyone’s nice about it? I was just being honest like I am right now. This time around everything was on point. Must’ve just been a «bad night» the other time… I can understand that, no one’s perfect! Thanks!

Went on Saturday around 730. Walked in to be seated and they said do you have a reservation, if not it will be about 45 mins, really? Okay so that was a good sign. So we are not high maintenance so we sat at the bar. Our most favorite happened to be behind the bar, Felicia! We each got a drink and then proceeded to order a few apps to share and dinner. Short rib ravioli was cooked perfectly. Add a touch of salt tt-that means to taste. But that’s my personal preference. Also had the spicy calamari and that didn’t disappoint either-well cooked and tasty w a kick. For dinner I had a Hangar steak w fries and creamed spinach. Steak was cooked perfectly rare-which is how I ordered it and had good taste. Fries are fries, and the creamed spinach was ok. She had some boneless pork chops w spinach and mash and it was all very tasty. No dessert, really Felicia how could we fit a dessert in? Lol. We were very happy with everything and our service. Stay consistent with the food! Well done!

This place is amazing, definitely the best food we’ve had in the area. The french onion soup is to die for. The short ribs are also a must have — super tender and flavorful. This is where we bring friends when they visit. My only complaint is that the desserts could be better. Maybe they should outsource those.

I have always had great meals here. The staff here are very friendly and proffessional. This place has a homey feel to it. It’s appearance may resemble a house from the exterior, however you are greeted with a full bar once you walk inside and the dining room is very inviting with country like décor. The ambiance is very relaxed. The menu varies by season(my personal peference). My favorite is the Thai calamari. Their salads are great too. The portions are just right and the prices are reasonable. This place is definately a diamond in the rough.

My husband and I went there last night because of all the great reviews. How can so many people be so wrong. This place was awful. First think we noticed when we walked in super small bar with game playing. 7:00 we were the only ones there a few more tables came later. The bread was actually wet like maybe it had been frozen and thawed put. My fish dish was over cooked on the outside and undercooked on the inside the rice was over cook. My husbands food the carrots were under cooked. I asked about dessert they said they had plum pudding and ice cream. I said no to both. Never going back. Over rated.

Hidden gem in Cortlandt Manor that the local residents enjoy. Great food, the Thai calamari is a MUST. I also recommend the triple decker chicken sandwich — very tasty. The place is a little hard to find but worth it for reasonably priced comfort food. Great staff, good food

So, we pass this place all of the time and always thought we should check it out. We have a 14-month-old, so decided to check it out for the«early bird dinner»(between 5 – 6:30pm). The early bird menu is a great value at $ 29 for a 3 course menu. The options on the early bird menu are a bit limited, so we ended up going off of the normal menu and using a Groupon we bought. The food was exactly as described — very good, but not out-of-this-world. It takes some time for food to get out, but, again, it’s cooked to order so worth the wait. We sat on the deck, which was lovely(it was summer) and I would highly recommend it in the future.(Good news parents– they have high chairs!) The service was amazing, everyone from the bus person to the hostess, to the server was very attentive and very helpful. The on-duty manager also came and checked up on us which I always appreciate. We’ll definitely go back!

My first time eating here and all I can say is two thumbs up! Service A+, Food A++ and Ambiance A+. The seating outside looked like fun but it was a little muggy out so we ate inside. We got there close to closing time and everyone still had huge smiles on their faces and didn’t seem turned off like some other establishments I’ve been to. Our waitress was outstanding and the food came out relatively fast. We ordered Cesar Salads, Fresh Mozzarella and Pineapple drizzled with a balsamic type of sauce, both delicious. We were in the mood to bite into hearty sandwiches so we got the Schoolhouse Burger and Grilled Chicken Triple Decker both coming with sides. All I can say is I can’t wait to go back and try everything. The prices were great and we didn’t break the bank. Send me a message after you try Julianna’s. I would love to hear about your experience.

Had dinner for the first time at Julianna’s and it was great! The manager, Ian, was friendly and helpful, as was the entire staff. My husband had the calamari appetizer which was delicious(and I normally don’t like calamari) and I had the Cesar salad which was fresh and tasty. My husband had the cod and I had the stuffed pork chop which both were recommended and quite good. Check on Groupon as they have a coupon. If it’s nice out make a reservation for the patio… just lovely. Will definitely be back!

Ate there twice in a week. Beautiful surroundings, awesome astute service, delicious food, good prices and great local history. I have thoroughly enjoyed my visits there. It felt more like a vacation than a dining experience. Just right all around.

Just went to Julianna’s recently after a few year gap. We enjoyed it the first time and thought we’d give it another try. They really kicked it up a notch since our last visit and I expect we will be regulars now. I started with an iceberg wedge salad which was very well presented and balanced between bacon, blue cheese and lettuce. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite and was able to either blend the flavors or separate them, so for you OCDers, you can easily take in the blue cheese, bacon and lettuce in order. I had the hanger steak as my main and asked for it rare. They did a great job on this entrée as far as preparation and presentation. Normally, my rare steaks come out medium or medium-rare; Julianna’s got it right and it was exactly as I ordered it. I also had a great cocktail — I forget the name, but it was Ginger beer and whiskey and was pretty tasty, and effective. Good thing I wasn’t driving. Noise level is a bit tough and on the high end, but it’s a great place to eat. Service was excellent and timely — not too fast, not too slow. You probably want to make reservations if you are more than two. Even as two, you may have to wait on a Friday or Saturday night. One big issue that may be a concern for some with kids — no cell service(Verizon) or available free wifi. If you go, you will be incommunicado for the duration of your stay. Definitely going back.

I love this place! Any place that remembers you when you walk in makes you feel at home. Updated menu, stuffed pork chop with creamy polenta and squash was incredible. Hangar steak with root veg was perfect. Home made ricotta with pesto will have you wanting more. Banana split with hazelnut gelato Nothing was wrong Clean, warm, cozy. Super friendly Staff. Need I say more? Appetizer, soup, 2 entrees, 2 cold bev, 2 hot bev. And dessert with tax for 80.00 Put this on your go to places.

(Totally forgot to write this back when I ate here a few moths ago) We had a Groupon deal — 2 salads and 2 entrees(I forget the price.) It was a nice summer night so we decided I sit outside on their patio. Our waitress let us have soup also besides salad — I had the Sweet Corn Soup, hubby the Kale and Spinach Salad. We both really liked our apps. For our entrée we had the Hanger Steak Fritte. The steaks were a bit bland and mine was a little tough to chew. I would def come back for the Sweet Corn Soup and try a different entrée!

This place has been totally redone and it’s SO much better. I came here about 7 years ago and wasn’t impressed with the food or décor, but they’ve done a complete 180. They renamed it Julianna’s Schoolhouse and it has an old schoolhouse vibe on the inside — old books, desks, and chalkboards. The food is more modern and surprisingly good for a place tucked into the woods. I initially returned because I had a Groupon but i’ve been back twice since — once for a private party with hors d’oeuvres. The Spinach & kale salad appetizer w/quinoa, Goat cheese, dried cranberries, butternut squash and pear) is SO good. I’ve also ordered the miso cod(fantastic) and once had scallops as a special that were cooked perfectly. Besides the frequent Groupons, they also have an early bird menu every day that gets you 3 courses for $ 29. You really can’t beat it. If you haven’t been here in years, give it a 2nd try. It is so great!

Came here with the sister on a Thursday evening around 6pm. Saw a deceent amount of cars in the parking lot and we asked to sit outside on the patio. They have three tables out front facing the road and it was a gorgeous evening so why not? We were asked if we wanted tap water or bottled pellegrino and opted for tap – it still came out in a nice glass bottle that we were to keep at the table and had a cute J frosted on the front. Nice touch! It was half-price bottles of wine so i choose a sauv blanc. Appetizer we had the truffle fries and for entrees, the short ribs and seafood mac & cheese. Truffle fries came out fast and were delicious! Hot and with perfect flavor! Our food came within 10 – 15 mins after the fries and was also beyond great and tasty! We were so full we took home half our dinners, and they made for great leftover lunches the next day. Bill came to 90 $ for the two of us BUT i had a coupon thing for $ 30 off.(Wine wasn’t discounted bc I had this other coupon deal but that was fine with me.) So therefore it was 60 $ for two to eat and was well worth the money! Overall this cute spot made for a great night. I was happy and surprised to see how much business they were getting. Every ten minutes another group or couple would arrive to eat. I do hope Julianna’s keeps the customers coming in and they are able to flourish and stick around. It may be in a secluded location that many ppl do not know about but the food is excellent and so was the service – fast and attentive. I look forward to coming again and trying some more things on the menu. I literally could not find anything negative about the place. Bravo!
