My wife and I visited this music store last Saturday with our granddaughter when it was very busy and Daniel patiently helped us pick out a present for her that she just loves. We really appreciated the helpful and friendly service we received.

Best music shop in the known universe! My man Jay is always hooking it up big-​time, and they have an insane amount of gear for a smaller town. The store seems to have a really close relationship with their company reps, as I’ve had stuff repaired and replaced after my warranty has expired multiple times. If you’re into synths or guitars, this is the SPOT! Large selection of effects pedals too!

I just had a great guitar-​buying experience with Gracewinds Music and their fantastic sales consultant Chris (sorry I missed his last name!) To start with, these guys have the best Taylor selection south of Portland (and there’s really only one in Portland… and it ain’t GC). In fact, I ended up taking home a beautiful blonde 618e that you just don’t find hanging on a hook in most musical instrument stores.
But the real bright spot of Gracewinds Music, for me, was Chris. I’d been in several other stores and it just seemed like pulling teeth to get a lot of quality help with mid– and upper-​end acoustics. I did a lot of research but I still want a sales professional to point out interesting things and make recommendations. Chris was on point. My favorite part was when he offered to play the same instruments I was sampling (7 different ones in all) so I could get a different sound perspective. He even mimicked my playing styles — but better — so I could really make the most informed decision.
Reading other reviews online, I got the impression that this place was a «smaller, local» store. It wasn’t as big as some large metro stores but it was every bit as big as any stores I’d seen in Salem, Eugene and such. Their selection was impressive and they had some great specials and limited editions.
Gracewinds and Chris: 5-​stars for inventory, knowledge, price, attention to detail and, most of all, customer service.

This review is for Gracewinds’ Internet sales arm, Musical Supply Direct. I assume they share a staff, in which case I would like to warn customers about unethical behavior on the part of at least one staff member. I ordered 2 Yamaha FC-​5 pedals from Musical Supply Direct via Amazon for a professional keyboard player. The pedals that arrived were not FC-​5s: they were made of plastic, not metal, and they didn’t match the weight or the photo in the product description. They also didn’t match the photo on Yamaha’s website.
I notified the company of the problem via email, and the person who responded insisted they were FC-​5s and that Yamaha was now making them from plastic and agreed to provide a refund but would not pay return shipping. Then he/​she admitted they had been removed from a Yamaha P45B piano bundle and sold separately. That bundle does NOT include FC-​5 pedals. The pro keyboard player verified with a Yamaha representative that the design of the FC-​5 pedal has not changed and that the pedals sent by Musical Supply Direct were not FC-​5s.
While still insisting the pedals were FC-​5s, the Musical Supply Direct staffer finally agreed to pay return shipping and refunded the purchase price. Regardless, the company is engaging in fraudulent behavior by knowingly advertising one product and providing a different one in the case of both the fake FC-​5 pedals and the P45B piano bundle that has had its pedals removed.

Gracewinds an exelent local music store. Best customer service. You never know how good a company is until you have an issue with the product or service from them. I purchased a product through this music store that i was not satisfied with. I contacted Jay (the keyboard department person) he replaced the uinit right away. No hassles.I am very pleased with Gracewinds.

I’ve lived many places and visited many music stores, both local businesses and big chains. Gracewinds is one of my favorites. It starts with the staff who are very personable and knowledgeable regarding a wide variety of instruments and equipment. It’s not a huge store, but the stock they keep on hand is well selected. If they don’t have something on hand, they will get it ordered for you and can likely even undercut the big chain stores’ prices by a fair amount. I ordered a boutique level guitar from them and they undercut musiciansfriend and guitar center by about $ 200. When it arrived, they set it up perfectly. I have purchased a number of items from them since and will do so again. For a privately-​owned small town music store, they’re tough to beat.

Gracewinds music is a great local resource for musical instruments of most any kind. They have a huge inventory of instruments for any budget. They are a great resource for instrument rentals and lessons as well AND they have an excellent repair staff for your instrument repair needs.

Great local music store. Tons of guitars, drums, music books, etc. Great place to browse around. They offer lessons as well.

It’s kind of like a locally owned smaller Guitar Center in both good and bad ways. You can go here for wind and orchestra instruments, or guitars, keyboards, drum sets, etc. The staff is very friendly and informative, though it’s sometimes hard to get anyone’s attention. Honestly, they’ve missed out on some of my purchases simply because I got bored of waiting. that said, I’m a fan of this store and it’s staff. I’ve only had one repair done there, an amp, and had good experience with that service. Prices are a little above what they should be, but not insanely so, and i have a feeling they will work with you on prices and packages. With the variety of instruments, and the lessons etc, I think this store is integral to Corvallis’ music scene.

I love going in this place! There is such a wide selection and they always have very friendly and experienced staff!
