Wow… Not sure what to say. Both the food and service were superb. I find that this place has similar prices to Gyu-Kaku but their meat quality is much higher! The restaurant is tinier but there are a lot of servers just for this small of a space. Everyone was so attentive at getting our orders in, refilling our drinks, clearing empty plates, and making sure we have everything we need. I would come back just for the service. However… The real star was the food. Wow. Everything was just delicious. We ordered basically all the recommendations, which was the Prime Boneless Short Rib, Marbled Rib Eye, Salted Tongue, Prime Outside Skirt, and of course the Kobe Style Beef! We also got a side of the kimchi, which was actually a pretty huge side just for something like kimchi. It had cucumber, radish, and lettuce kimchi. We also got the cold sake, with the ice cubs in a small hole at the bottom of the bottle. It was fairly tasty, despite my really bad experiences with bad tasting sake in the past. We wanted to splurge a bit because it was our anniversary. We also got the mint rice, which was a generous portion as well. I usually find that most Asian BBQ places don’t really give you that much rice, probably because they want you to order more meat. But this place gave a nice helping! Also, the mint is a bit overwhelming if you don’t mix your rice very well, so remember to mix it all together. Will definitely be back again!

Anjin is open 7 days a week, but only for dinner and they don’t take reservations because they don’t need to. There’s always a line because people are willing to wait to eat here. There aren’t many restaurants I would wait 30+ minutes for, but I have several times for Anjin. Unlike Korean barbecue, it isn’t all you can eat. You order by dish, and there are several different cuts and varieties of meats with more marbling, more fat, etc. There is a grill on the table for you to cook the meat yourself. I have tried many of the dishes, and all of them were amazing and go well with the dipping sauces they give you. It is pretty pricey here because the quality of the meat is so good. Expect to spend around $ 80-$ 100 for 2 people. It’s well worth it in my opinion.

I came here after a friends recommendation and I have to say this place was way better than I imagined. I usually don’t write reviews but after eating this meal, I feel like I have to let others know just how good this place is. First I arrived right as this place opened(5pm) on a Tuesday night. Around 30 minutes in, the place was nearly full. Anyways my friend recommended meat #4(don’t remember what it’s called) and since I really like seafood, I started out with meat #4, squid and scallop. The meat was really tender and sauce matched up really well with the meat. The seafood was fresh but not as good as the meat. I later also added an order of white rice and salad. The rice was well cooked and came in a huge portion. I felt the salad was well dressed and came in a pretty big portion as well.

Anjin always hits the spot when you’re craving some legit, high-quality Japanese BBQ. This spot is similar to Tsuruhashi, with slight menu differences. * Note: They do not take Reservations, so either come for a early or late dinner if you want to avoid the 1+ hour wait. * Don’t be basic and order white rice… order the RICE with JAPANESEMINTLEAF! The rice is seasoned with thinly sliced mint leaves and dried seaweed(tasted like some furikake in there too). This definitely was a game-changer. You need to order the HOMEMADEKIMCHI as a side to eat with your meats. The radish and cucumber kimchi are my faves. The BEEFCARPACCIO is popular among my friends who love raw beef. I’m picky when it comes to raw beef, but this one was pretty good. It’s super thin, and served with a nice mayo-based sauce.(Still not one of my faves, but you may like it!) As for the MEAT, here are my top picks: + MARBLEDPRIMEBONELESSSHORTRIB — Melts in your mouth, don’t over cook! + MARBLEDPRIMERIBEYE — Same as above, super marbled. + PORKCHEEK — Tender and juicy AF. + SALTEDTONGUE — Don’t over cook, and delicious with a squeeze of lemon + SAUSAGE — Love this Japanese sausage. Juicy and the skin gets so crispy!
