Our experience at this restaurant was lackluster to say the least. Food took more than 20 mins to arrive(4 sandwiches), food arrived staggered, and there was a general malaise over the entire crew of employees. Then again we are eating at a Corner Bakery Café, what more could I have expected.

There were a bunch of seating available except it was covered in dirty plates, napkins and the previous customers leftovers. We finally got our food and they were missing a few items and the salad i ordered didn’t live up to the description. I left hungrier then when i walked in. Go somewhere else in the mall if you want to leave satisfied.

I paid $ 8 for this pasta and look how much they gave me! I only took one bite and it looks like I already ate half of the plate. Total RIPOFF!!!

Pesto cavatappi with a caeser salad on the side please! That’s the only that keeps me coming back to Corner Bakery because it’s so good. Conveniently located at South Coast as a cheaper alternative instead of all the steakhouse located in and around this mall. When you’re hungry while shopping, stop by Corner Bakery and grab a pesto cavatappi to eat!

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE. I wish I didn’t have to give a star. I ordered a salad to go about a month ago, and when I opened it up at home, which was about 25 miles away, I found a long black hair entwined in the salad. I had taken 2 bites and then found that. I was shocked an disgusted. I wasn’t too shocked actually because I had seen a bunch of the kitchen staff walking around without hairnets. GROSS. I called the corporate office that was listed on my receipt and left them multiple voicemails and never received a call back. I WILLNEVEREATHEREAGAIN.

I order a Kale Salad to go, got home to discover the kale and the lettuce had black mold and was wilted; the chicken smelled. I took pictures and called Corner Bakery immediately. They told me to come back and they would comp me for a free meal. The following day I ask for my comp meal just to be condescended by some short dude who kept talking over me and made an embarrassing scene basically making it seem I was trying to get free meals. I was never given back my money for the moldy meal. They gave me a replacement meal for the moldy one I paid for the day before and charged me for the«comp meal.» Horrible, RUDE customer service and«old moldy food!» I wouldn’t go back.

I work in the mall so I tend to rotate between Boudin and Corner Bakery. However, Corner Bakery is my go-to. The location is in the bloomingdale’s wing on the first floor next to Gap and across Express. I’ve been here countless of times and I never had to wait in a crazy long line which shows you they are quick with service. I always get the sandwich and soup combo that comes with their chips. I rotate with sandwiches, but I always get their chicken noodle soup which is my favorite. Food comes out quick by friendly servers. The quality of the food is very wholesome and healthy which makes me feel like I’m eating right most of the time haha. Overall, recommended whenever you visit SCP!

(Review based on 3.5 stars) Located at the South Coast Plaza on the 1st floor, next to Bloomingdale’s. My mom and I decided to grab Corner Bakery for lunch a little before 1 pm last Saturday. After browsing the menu board, we ended up getting: Sandwich/Salad Combination with Pesto Turkey & Harvest Salad, $ 8.99 prior to tax– I opted for this lunch combo. My pesto turkey sandwich was served on a ciabatta bread, would have been nice if it was toasted. I liked the flavors of this sandwich and also liked that there were some greens and a few slices of tomato in the sandwich. The salad was also good. I requested the dressing to be placed on the side. I liked the apple slices in this salad, as it added texture, crunch and sweetness. I also liked their in house made croutons. This was a great entrée that is plenty for one person. My entrée also came with a bag of chips, which I did not eat because I was already filled with the sandwich and salad. But I did eventually eat my bag of chips on another day and thought they were pretty standard and little oily(I was expecting something more though since they advertise on their menu that they make their own chips). Sandwich/Salad Combination with Uptown Turkey & Asian Sesame Salad. $ 8.99 prior to tax– My mom ordered this sandwich/salad combo. She liked her turkey sandwich(I did not try any). She also did like her Asian sesame salad, however it did come with sliced jalapenos. But since she doesn’t eat them, she just pushed them off to the side. If she knew they came with it, she would have asked to omit them. She also had a bag of chips served with her entrée and did not eat them either because she was full from the salad and sandwich too. — — — — — — — — – (Total= $ 22.21 after tax) The employee who took our order did not seem like she was really listening. When I made my order for both my mom and I, I just had this feeling that we would not get the items that we wanted exactly. Well I was right because she charged us extra to add a bag of chips to our entrees, which we did not ask for. After I made my order and my mom began to pay for our meals, I looked for a table. There was only one booth towards the back that was left and luckily I was able to get it for us. Although the booth was clear of dirty dishes, it still had crumbs and other food bits on the seat and table. Overall, the food was good(even though I wasn’t too happy that we were charged to have 2 bags of chips, even though we did not order them) and I enjoyed my lunch. I would probably eat here again if I was shopping at the South Coast Plaza. By the way, if you do choose to dine in, there are some outdoor seating(you will find the door for the outdoor seating towards the back of this eatery) in case you are unsuccessful at finding anything inside. Also there is a restroom inside here as well(but I did not use it on this visit). Also after your meal, you leave your dirty dishes and utensils on the table. Eventually an employee will clear it. Surprisingly the employees that were working were pretty good at clearing the tables while we were here.

This Corner Bakery is my go-to for a quick bite when I need to take a break from shopping at South Coast and don’t want to wait to eat at other eateries inside the mall. The food is the same at other Corner Bakeries, which is pretty darn good if you ask me. My go to is the Chicken Pomodori Panini. It’s just everything I want in a sandwich: cheesy goodness with a layer of ripe tomatoes and herby basil, encased in mozzarella and crispy, buttery sourdough bread. Yum.

Truly the worst dining experience I have ever had! Got order wrong, then told me it would be another 15 — 20 minutes to get my food. Was wrong a second time basically they brought me a bowl of spinach with Chicken Other Items requested not on the salad. Customer service was terrible. Also didn’t get any utensils.

This is a small location in the mall with the normal menu. Try a Panini sandwich.

Nothing has changed since my last review. Dining area is still open with numerous tables. Food is still good and consistent. Service is sometimes friendly, sometimes adequate, but never poor. I come here whenever mom and dad want to meet for some shopping and a sandwich. They are fan of CB and so am I, and I’m glad this is here in the mall because I needed an alternative to Boudin since their soups and sandwiches have fallen far, far from grace. Chicken pomodori panini is freshly grilled and never burned, though sometimes the assembly is pretty poor. Uptown turkey is presentable and comes out in one piece, not falling apart like at the Block/Outlets CB. Coffee is good. Lattes are also good. Food comes out quickly but not too quick, which is good. Dang it. Now I want a sandwich.

The manager David was so very nice & attentive. He really went above & beyond to make sure we had everything we needed outside on the patio. We had a lovely lunch with my parents. The food was excellent! Thanks David!

This is a good location for hungry people at the mall. It’s literally at the«corner» as are the other locations. You can find it on the first level of Bloomingdale’s. Although Corner Bakery does not have the best café food, I think this chain offers better taste than does Panera Bread, in my opinion. I love the Anaheim scramble — one of my favorites from their menu! Check out their menu and locations on their website: . I like that they are adapting to the technology advances with their phone app, rewards app/program, and ordering online and delivery. Did you know they cater? They don’t have a great variety of bagels as does Panera Bread though. I’ll be back to try their banana pancakes drizzled in honey!

I had terrible food and a terrible staff experience with the manager«Jeremy» Ugh. Not great when you’re brand new in town and hungry. I ordered the trio of «fresh» salad. Portions were tiny and the edamame i ate first was drenched in oil, so bad that I started to feel ill and couldnt finish the other two. One of the managers named Jeremy was schmoozing people up in a disingenuous way asking«hows your meal– GREAT,» before i could even answer. I pulled him to actually tell how my meal was(answer: pretty bad). He said he’d get me a serving of plain beans and TOOKAWAYMYPLATEWITH2⁄3OFMYMEALUNEATEN and refused to let me get a word in edgewise. I desperately just wanted an actual«fresh salad» and he snarled without looking at my plate that it looked like i «ate most of it»(again, my quinoa and kale portion was in hus hands) and said he’d get me more beans. Thats right, I paid $ 8 to have a handful of oily beans, have the rest of my meal taken away, insulted, and offered more beans. Thank god for Kevin, another manager who noticed I was frustrated and still hungry. He went out of his way to fix the situation and seemed to genuinely care about his job, the quality of food, and people. I’ll give it another shot– if there is one genuine person working here it can’t be all bad.

I work at Nordstrom, and got a free lunch voucher for a few restaurants around and chose Corner Bakery. It was very generous of them to give us a free meal! Thanks guys! I had a few options to choose from, but went with half a sandwich, side salad and drink. I got the Uptown Turkey with Cesar Salad. The sandwich was fantastic! Turkey, bacon, avocado, tomato and lettuce on whole wheat bread. My favorite kind of sandwich. The salad was good, fresh lettuce, crunchy croutons and a great dressing. The staff was very friendly, and I could tell the manager in charge took his job very seriously. He was making sure everyone took their proper breaks and the food was coming out right. I’ve never eaten at this location, but will definitely be back because I’m burning myself out on my other options around here.

Four stars for saving my hunger. There was about an two hour wait at Din Tai Fung. So we thought why not shop n just come back. However the wait was longer than that so starving we went here for a snack. We ordered soup and sandwich. I like that it’s not fast food but the food does come out fast. Simple sandwich and soup. Hold us over, thanks for being there.

Just not impressed. The picture that advertised the new Cuban panini-style sandwich made it look 100% better than what arrived at my table. A long skinny and rather lackluster sandwich was what I received. It was not worth $ 8.45. Overall, this chain cannot deliver, and I hate to say it, but Panera Bread won’t loose any sleep or customers.

The Food is two stars, the overall experience is three stars. I went there during the evening rush. around 6pm on a Saturday. The line was long, but I was impressed how quickly it moved. The registers were all staffed, so things moved along simmingly. It was pretty loud in there, and we had to yell across the register, which seems to be 4 – 6 feet away. Anyway, I had to repeat my order several times before it was right. The cashier might have been new. She asked the manager about almost everything we ordered, and our order was right off the menu. No substitutions to confuse things. She was pleasant enough though. I went over to fill my drink. I wanted tea. One of the dispensers of tea was empty and the other was almost empty. The tea was really bad. Had a stale taste to it. There are lots of places to sit, which is a big bonus. Like I said, it was really busy, but finding a place to sit wasn’t a problem at all. It didn’t take long to get our food. Here’s the bad part. The«dinner salads» are actually side salad size. To top that off, the greens on my salad were limp… some were even yellowing. I ordered the Harvest Chicken Salad, $ 8.99. Not worth it. The chicken was sparse and tasteless. Also, I could have used a knife to cut the chicken, but they only bring a fork. The people who bring the food and clean the tables are the best part about this place. One young man in particular, Adrian, was very personable and professional. He even brought us a slice of coffee cake on the house, since it was our first visit. Very cool. On top of that, towards closing, another young man dropped by our table offering a muffin or bagel, since they wouldn’t be using them the next day. I had a pumpkin muffin, which was excellent… and free! Almost made up for that tiny, wilty salad. I was there quite a while talking with a friend. It’s pretty loud in there, but it’s pretty comfortable. Good place to meet someone. I wouldn’t recommend it for dinner, or at least I don’t recommend the salads. Too small for the price. I haven’t been to a Corner Bakery in several years. I don’t remember the salad portions being so small, and the quality of the food was much better. I’m sure they are trying to keep costs down, but I’d rather pay a little more and get a better salad.

I was starving while wandering through South Coast Plaza so stopped by here for food. I ordered café(smaller) portion of Cavatappi with marinara. Taste was mediocre at best. Flavors were rather bland and it wasn’t saucy enough. What was especially disappointing was the portion size. You can buy a bag of pasta and a jar of spaghetti sauce for $ 2 and make many meals worth of pasta. I paid $ 7 for a measly portion of average pasta… I understand that eating out is usually more expensive, but this was rather extreme. I’ll probably go elsewhere to appease any future hunger pangs.
