I have mixed feelings about this place. I think their pizza is worth the price because it tastes amazing, but everything else seems way over priced. I get the ravioli with butter and Parmesan, you get like 8 raviolis and the pasta is like $ 12, I think that’s a little ridiculous for pasta that tastes mediocre. The service is not that good, the cooks are nice, the owner is cool but everyone else just acts entitled and they think their better than everyone else.

I can’t say that I’ve had the pizza yet, but I was craving spagetti one day so I found Gina’s on Unilocal and stopped in. Definitely a great idea! I ordered the lunch special spagetti with meat sauce and it came with garlic bread which was to die for! Decent price for the serving. Can’t wait to come back and try the other items on the menu

Gina’s was a frequent restaurant for me in college. I’ve been to the location in Irvine near UCI many times for sorority events and fundraisers. Very cool staff, good beers and of course excellent pizza. The location on the peninsula in Newport was where I had a big going away party for myself and we loved their outdoor patio for that. Perfect for a summer night. The location in Costa Mesa is equally as good in terms of food, of course, but location isn’t exceptional. They have a few tables outside on their patio but about 85% of the seating is inside which isn’t that great or exciting. Friendly staff and fast service nonetheless.

Take out with a couple booths and tables. The staff was courteous. Spaghetti with meat sauce looked good, tasted OK, where’s the seasoning, how about some flavor. Raviolis with meat sauce, looked good, tasted OK, where’s that little extra spice, something to set it apart from all the other bland Italian food. Cheese pizza, ditto, how about some basil, oregano, fennel seeds, something to make it worthwhile instead of just dough, cheese and sauce. As an owner, after many years in business don’t you think, how can I make this better, what can I do to add, improve the flavor of my dishes? I guess not. Everything was priced for a restaurant, this is basically a take out joint. Spaghetti, add meatballs $ 14.99 Cheese ravioli’s, add meatballs $ 13.99 Medium cheese pizza 12.99. I might be off by a dollar or so. Anyway, not a cheap meal. Where’s the passion? I wont be back.

This place has really gone downhill. There are way better pizza places in the area and I’ve had better pasta in the cafeteria at Kaiser. The worst part of the experience is how much they charge you. At 3pm which is still lunch, they charged me for dinner pasta. They advertise $ 3 garlic cheese bread for happy hour, they charged us the full $ 5 and when it was brought to their attention, they said it was«a dollar or two difference». This is really bad business practice. The cheese ravioli with Alfredo sauce was disgusting– flavorless pasta in milk. It was thin flavorless white, like they forgot to put the cheese in. I really expected more from them, And if you over charge me and I point it out to you, fix it.

I was a loyal Ginas customer until this weekend when I chomped down on a piece of GLASS. I was eating a pepperoni pizza and as I was chewing there was a loud crunch and I felt something hard. I knew my tooth hadn’t broken because it was harder than that. I spit it out and there was a chunk of GLASSINMYPIZZA! How does that even happen?!? I now have to get a crown on my tooth because it cracked. No pizza is worth a $ 750 crown. Not a huge Unilocaler but this seemed worthy of a share.

Frequent here for lunch at least once a week. Pizza is delicious, especially the bigga slice because its not so bready. Pasta and lasagna are good too. Not bad for a mid afternoon snack. Nice quiet patio with friendly helpful staff.

I have been a long time Gina’s customer. A little over 8 years. And while they are slightly over priced you get what you pay for. The quality of the food is excellent, which is why I continued to go there. However, I just called there to order delivery. It was 9:02 by the time I talked to someone to order. Unfortunately, they told me that I could not have delivery because the delivery cut off time is 9:00 pm. I said you must be joking. It’s 9:02. She still refused. I then asked to talk to the manager hoping that he would realize the importance of customer service. I explained that I am a long time customer and that I could understand if I was calling at say 9:15 or later, but it is 9:02. He said that is why they have a cut off time and that he would not deliver my order. I then told him that we are at an in-pas. Gina’s policy is not to deliver after 9:00 pm. I then explained to him that I would exercise my right as a customer and because of his inflexibility they lost a long time customer and that I would never eat there again in my life. If I am willing to spend my money at an establishment regularly they should do what they can to retain me as a customer. Call me old fashioned, but I still believe that when you run a customer service related business that you do everything you can to provide the best customer service that you can. Unfortunately Gina’s does not have the same philosophy. For Gina’s they will not be able to ever try to provide me with any customer service again. Completely disappointed customer.

The pizza is good. The service has always made me feel awkward. Maybe I’m just awkward but I feel like they want me to tip them(take out or delivery) so bad that it’s an imposition on them if I don’t. The last straw was when I went in there for take out. They didn’t make my pizza right and instead of offering to make it right they offered to give me a topping on the side and a free pizza on them the next time I ordered because it was close to closing time. A generous offer, however I am done with feeling like I am imposing on employees who express an attitude of entitlement. Call me old fashion, but I prefer more traditional customer service. The good pizza is not worth being made to feel awkward and like I’m imposing.

Being a relatively new customer to Gina’s, I haven’t yet tried enough of the food to provide a full rating. Here are some impressions… It’s located in a strip mall facing Harbor Blvd. The parking can be a bit hit and miss because there are several other restaurants in the same building. If it’s full, you can usually find parking in the lot between Vons and Harbor Blvd. The interior is nicely decorated and very clean. What stands out. .. The Eggplant Parmesan and the Minestrone Soup(with chicken) are the BEST I’ve ever had. Yum! My son(and the neighbors) recommended the Rasta Salad. I had it with Italian(which was great!) but I may try it with some of the other options as well. The pizzas are good, too. With so many sauce and topping options, you could entirely customize a pie to your liking.

Excellent!!! On a whim we decided to give this place a try!!! It was pretty damn good! The garlic cheese bread, the lasagna and the spaghetti were all so good and very tasty! The staff was extremely helpful giving suggestions on what to try and of course the TV’s had the game on! Give it a try… you’ll like it!

This place ALWAYS serves consistent high quality pizza. The owner Majid always has a BIG smile on his face and puts in just as much work as any employee. Additionally, the main chef /pie maker has been working for Gina’s for as far back as I can remember. He used to be at the Corona del Mar location over 20 years ago, then switched to THIS location. Even HE… is extremely friendly with everyone that comes in. This particular establishment is ALWAYS clean, professional, and consistent and exquisite quality! Its SO good… that I’ll drive 45 minutes just for a couple of slices. My personal favorite slice is: Pepperoni, Sausage, and Bacon! If you like meat… I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!

So this is my usual pizza spot. Well the Newport location. The Costa Mesa location not so much. I got two separate to go orders. One was mine one was my friends. I asked the cashier how many ranches/condiments come with each order, he said a choice of two. So then naturally I said 2 ranches for my order and 1 blue cheese and 1 vinaigrette for the other order. Then he said that will be $ 2.14… I was like didn’t you say it was two sauces free with each order. He said no you guys are together and I said no it’s two separate transactions. So then he charged me $.53 for god knows what reason. He had a little attitude too! Annoying, Newport location wins with the best customer service. Oh and btw they didn’t give me blue cheese they gave me Cesar.

I love the rasta salads and pasta dishes, from Ginas! This one In particular, always has the friendliest staff; the owner is almost always here, and makes everyone feel welcome. Also, try the cheesy bread! It’s fantastic!

I could eat their 2 day old leftover thin crust pepperoni pizza everyday… for the rest of my life! What’s better… is that their pizza is great when it’s fresh as well! Lastly, they are quick, and they hook up the Parmesan, and red pepper flakes without having to beg for it. I highly recommend that you try this place.

Just had to write this review to warn others. I ordered the«baked» ziti with spinach. After waiting about 20 minutes, my dish comes out“hot” and the employee tells me to be careful not to burn myself. I cut a piece with my fork and to my surprise, the pasta was cold as ice. I mean, I can taste the freezer burn and everything. It was such a disgusting experience I couldn’t even get the courage to eat it even if they offered to re heat it. Something«baked» should be that. Makes me feel like I waited for nothing and I will never come back for frozen anything.
