I ordered the three item combination plate with orange chicken, bbq chicken and bbq pork, all for about nine bucks. As many of the Unilocal reviews state, they give you very large portions for the price. But, to be honest, the quality of the food is just ok. The food is pre-made sitting under heat lamps. Starting off they grab a fairly large styrofoam container and give you the chance to order chow mein and/or fried rice. The chow mein is okay with fried noodles and a little fried cabbage. They fill the entire bottom of the container with the rice and chow mein. The orange chicken was pieces of chicken deep fried in batter coated with the sauce. The chicken was overcooked and a bit tough. The sauce was good though. The bbq chicken was the same type of deep fried chicken as the orange chicken but coated with a red chinese bbq sauce. It was not as tough as the orange chicken and just okay. The bbq pork was a large cutlet(not deep fried) of pork soaking in the red bbq sauce which they pulled out of the sauce and chopped up. It was my favorite out of the three dishes. It had good porky flavor and was fairly moist.

Now I gotta be honest, the quality of the food here is average. But when you don’t have that much money, you’re a local, want Chinese, and Alot of it, you come here. The portions here are out this world. They jam so much food in those Styrofoam’s it’s really not even funny, and they are so fast with there service. You could easily feed 2 to 3 people with a 3 combo order from this place, or get some for lunch and save the rest for dinner the same night. Haha I love this place.

Hey, don’t glare at me when I don’t leave a tip at a fast food place. She screws up my order, fills two of my entrees with one item. Then does nothing to remedy it. That’s not tip worthy service. Plus asking for more water is annoying when only one person is serving. And they know it too. It’s like they’re trying to annoy you here. Very odd business practice. Food is okay here. Everything is heavily breaded and really gives you that greasy food, empty fill. Orange chicken is like Panda Express’ but with no vinegar kick. I find it bland. Plus it always globs and sticks together in the sauce here.unappetizing. BBQ chicken is a little better with a sweet kick of Chinese cinnamon. But the flavor wears on my palate quickly. Spicy chicken wings were dry as could be on my one try and didn’t have much flavor. Huge $ 1 egg rolls but they’re the typical slimy veggies inside which I hate. Sure, portions are huge here, but for mediocre food and bad service. Skip it.

Let’s just say I craved some good chicken and decided to find a local Chinese place that may have some delicious chicken in the stead of the usual American fried chicken joint. If I can find a fast food place I won’t have to wait… To my surprise, HK Express had the most amazing bbq chicken here. It’s covered in a sweet red sauce and if you’re not too picky, you have your delicious boneless wings right there. And you can just get that take out if all you’re after is some fried chicken, but I decided to get the two item combo and they fill that take-out box till it pops and breaks on you from the amount of food.

Its your typical greasy Chinese take-out, but its the best typical greasy Chinese take-out. Huge portions, crispy and savory orange chicken and bbq chicken. Their chow mein is particularly thick and greasy, as apposed to the thin, dry excuse of noodles you find at a Panda express. So good I drive roughly an hour round trip from Garden Grove every once in a while for my Chinese take-out fix.

This place is THEBEST takeout in Orange County, hands down. This is the place to go, look no further. The portion sizes are unbelievable. Seriously 4x as much as Panda Express, they fill it up like your family! The employees/owners are so nice, they always ask how we are doing and always have a smile. Their service is a 5 star alone! The food is amazing, always fresh, you have to get the cream cheese wontons. There is a reason we would travel an hour+ in traffic just for this place on a busy afternoon. You will never be disappointed!

You guys let me down on this one… Not sure what all the hype is around this place. Yes, they give you huge portions(plus one star), but the food is sub par at best and the service is lacking. My family and I got several entrees and shared. The orange chicken barely had any meat, mainly breading. The brocolli beef was straight up nasty. The meat was slimy and soft. All the veggies were thrown in as huge pieces– no effort to cut them up. Kung pao chicken was 60% water chestnuts and there were no peanuts(I’ve never had Kung pao prepared without peanuts). The only thing that was decent were the the chow mein noodles. It was around dinner time when we went too but the food didn’t seem fresh at all. The guy serving us gave no eye contact, no hello, nothing just a «watchu want» when we walked up. He left noodles hanging out of the box and dragged it across the table to the register– gross. 3 out of 4 of us felt sick to our stomachs after eating here(maybe heavy msg or using tons of cheap soybean oil). I doubt the food is very sanitary here just by looking at the place and carelessness of the people working. yes everyone, panda express gives smaller portions than this place but their food is at least tasty. And you won’t erupt like a volcano on the toilet like you would after eating Hong Kong Express. Pass on this place and thank me later.

Let me start by saying I love Chinese food so I consider myself a snob when it comes to good Chinese take out. And I have to say this place kills it ! Not only do they stack your plate for under $ 10 but the flavor matches the portions. I’ve been looking for a new go-to take out place like this that does combo plates and I have found it! Very full and very happy :) !

I tried it for the first time and was impressed. The foods tasty and worth the price. The lady was nice and packed the plate. The jalapeño chicken was bomb. not too spicy but with the right amount of kick. I’ll be coming back.

Wow… great food with huge portions! A good value and the food was prepared much better than their competitors. I would highly recommend take out or eat in which extremely casual.

When we arrived during dinner time on a Sunday night, there was a line out the door! Don’t fret though — it moves rather quickly and if you’re already there, it’s worth the wait! The portions are ginormous! The box was barely able to close all the way because it was stuffed with so much food. You definitely get your money’s worth and then some! Plan to share or just have tons of leftovers for the next day(which isn’t a bad thing)! Everyone tasted pretty good, typical take out chinese food. All the veggies were cut kinda huge though — made it a bit difficult to eat. I prefer panda express’s orange chicken but that might be just a matter of preference. I mean, I still ate it all, lol! The service was really friendly and its always great to support your local restaurants. I would come again if I was in the area and craving Chinese take out.

You get a crap ton of food here. It’s a run-of-the-mill Panda Express style Chinese place, but they have things on the menu that aren’t out on display like the soup. It’s nothing fancy and a great place to go if you are craving unhealthy Chinese takeout or something very casual. I definitely would NOT recommend taking a date here. Unless the date is me, then of course, if would oblige with a 3-item combo with an egg roll on the side. I tried the orange chicken which is very similar to Panda’s(that’s a good thing IMO) and also the chicken teryaki(I ask for no sauce so I’m just getting pure grilled chicken) which is also a great post workout if you mix it with the carbs like rice and chow mein(my dirty bulking tip of the day).

Been driving by this place for ages and now I have finally tried it. Man I am very glad I did because now I know what I have been missing out on … cheap, greasy, fast, Chinese food. For a two item combo, which comes with your choice of one or both chow mein and rice and two entrees. I decided on chow mein, hose special chicken and orange chicken. The house special was supposed to be a spicier dish as it had sliced jalapenos in it but for my taste buds, it wasn’t spicy at all. just sweet. The breading over the chicken was a bit soft, as in it may have been sitting for a while. Still edible and good though. The orange chicken had a thicker breading on it, which does remind me of panda express, just a bit more authentic tasting. The other reviewers weren’t kidding when they say the portion sizes are huge… they are very generous. The meal is three meals worth of food for me. Overall, a great find and budget friendly($ 7 incl tax) since it would last me three meals. Combo would have been easily shareable with another person or two.

4 Stars for the amount of food and pricing –1 star for the orange chicken not being superb. As soon as I paid for my order, the lady puts out a fresh batch of orange chicken. *wahh* –1 star may change if a fresh batch will make a difference. Do come if you’re a family of 10 and don’t wanna spend XXXXX amount of money on dinner. Don’t come if you are looking to lose weight.

HOLYHUGEFOODPORTIONS I definitely love a good food portion for the amount of money I pay for the food. I ordered a 2 item entrée and the lady that served me had to try three times to shut the box she put my food in! I’m in love! The food is really good too, it wouldn’t mean as much to me if the food didn’t taste good but I even got the last of the orange chicken in the pan and it still tastes fresh. The place is clean as well, I wouldn’t mind staying there and eating it as well.

When you’re craving Chinese fast food, it’s here. This place is very generous when it comes to food. Seriously. My cousin & I were craving some Chinese fast food & luckily we found this small but heavenly fast food place! The place is small, so that means, get your food and go! We shared the 2 item combo. It came with rice, chow mein, orange chicken(it’s a must!) and kung pao chicken. OMG! This is Chinese fast food at it’s best. The serving sizes are so big! We had enough left overs for lunch the following day! What!!! OH and you know it’s a lot of food when the container can’t close all the way. The orange chicken is amazing. It had the right amount of crispiness and sweetness to it. The noodles where soft, stringy & tasty! The kung pao chicken was spicy! The staff is really friendly and provide good customer service. Everything looked so good!

Glad to have discovered this gem last year. I’m a regular here. No really, like I’m here at least once or every other week… and I don’t care! AMBIANCE: As you walk in, there are about 3 – 4 tables available for seating. You immediately hit the heat-lamp area, where you pick and choose your side and main items. I suggest go during busy lunch or dinner hour so you get more fresh hot food. FOOD: I normally get the Beef Broccoli and crispy bone-in Chicken Wings for the two-item, about $ 8 with tax. For their Beef Broccoli, they use the Chinese-style broccoli, where the florets and stems are huge and quite crunchy. They do not douse it with sauce, major plus for me. The crispy chicken wing has nice kick to it. Again, I suggest go on a busier time so it’s more fresh. My backup selection would be the BBQ Pork and Kung Pao Chicken. The Kung Pao Chicken has a lot of the sauce but you still get the nice snap crunch of the veggies! SERVICE: I think this is family owned and everyone that works here are super friendly from the counter to the cooks in the back. When I come in, they automatically ask«rice only?» because I always either get steamed rice or half rice half chow mein with my two item(haha). Like other reviewers, they packed your plate with so much that you start to feel conscious and don’t want the next person in line you are ordering a family meal for yourself. With that said, I always have something for lunch the next day. Thanks for providing me great food when I am lazy to cook, Hong Kong Express! Xoxo.

What the F… my son and GF ordered a two entrée and will at least have two more meals. This is basically The Panda only better and 2 ½ times for less. Like everyone says. How do they do it? I don’t know. I had the three entrée and fried rice and the box didn’t close. My third entrée didn’t fit so I got a to go box for it. holy shitters. This is fast food so it is what it is. Not haute cuisine but the value gives it 5 stars. Now when I want my Chinese fix, how do I drive from San Diego to get it? Damn!
