Super delicious. Like garlic? Add it to your chicken. My favorite choice is the Super Quesadilla. Yummy.

«three strikes and you’re out!» So, after hearing some good stuff about this place, I went here for my first time to give it a try. Strike one!– I wanted to order one carne Asada taco and one fish taco. But they were out of fish. Strike two!– I asked to order a side of guacamole, but she said they did not have guacamole either. Strike three!– I said fine then, just that one taco… As I started to pay with credit card she told me there was a five dollar minimum to use credit card. As we all know, that breaks the rules of their agreement with the credit card companies. Well folks, those are the hard facts. This is a tiny little place, and it was filled completely with tattooed gringos, also.

Amazing chicken. Quarter chicken combo is enough food and make sure to get it with the lemon garlic … So bomb

I’ve only ever had the chicken quesadilla here because it’s so good! Its a massive quesadilla with the perfect amount of chicken and guacamole. I like that they put jalapeños in it too(though I ask for extra jalapeños in it because I love my food extra spicy). This is a solid go-to place when I want something easy. I suggest calling ahead to place your order because this is a small place and it can get crowded and take forever to get your food.

Super Pollo is the epitome of an authentic Mexican hole in the wall! It’s located on a side street right near Newport Blvd. and 17th Street and can be easily spotted from the main drag. The place has a decent sized menu with tacos, nachos, burritos and breakfast but most of the time I just opt for the chicken(there’s four seasonings to choose from). More often than not the chicken is moist and flavorful but there are times it’s a tad dry. The chicken comes with corn or flour tortillas and salsas, the pico de gallo being spicy and delicious! To me this place is essentially a local and much better version of an El Pollo Loco or Pollo Tropical. Limited seating inside and out. Fast and friendly service. Great place to get take-out!

Hands down the best chicken! The best hole in the wall I’ve ever found. Moist and delicious. The beans and rice are also delicious. I’m Mexican and picky about it. Try the garlic butter chicken. You will not be disappointed trust me everything is good here.

I would say this was pretty dang good! My boyfriend loves this place because he lives in the area. We went for burritos and they were tasty. Not a ton of seating but was good enough.

Wow the chicken is great and the tortillas are so fresh and good — that they must be home made. Call ahead as they seem to cook everything to order and it might take a while.

A true hole in the wall place. Only 3 tables inside and 4 outside. But the place is packed because they have some of the grilled chicken around. Order it with lemon garlic seasoning and you will be hooked. They have whole and ½ chicken dinners, quesadillas, tacos, and do carry carne asada. This place gets 5 stars for the food and being a true dive.

This place is a Hidden Gem hole in the wall in Newport. The chicken comes out slathered in garlick & paprika on that crispy skin which makes it so delicious. It is way better than El Pollo Loco. The place is small with limited seating so come early or after the lunch rush.

Showed up and there was no line! 45 minutes later, still was waiting for my order. Not sure what was going on, but this is fairly ridiculous for a order at the counter place. The food is pretty good, but not worth the wait.

I cannot even begin to relay how much I love Super Pollo. This place holds a very sacred place in my heart. While the interior isn’t five star, the food is INCREDIBLE. And for the price??? MIND. BLOWN. I get take out here at least once a week and I am never disappointed. If I were on death row it’s entirely possible Super Pollo could be my last meal. Enough said.

Seriously the best flame broiled chicken I’ve ever had. If you don’t suck on the bones to get every last bit of meat then you’re not doing it right. The seasoning is amazing. The fresh pico is so tasty. My bf and I shared the half chicken combo and a carne asada soft taco. The taco was large, the meat was juicy, and the guac in the taco was super tasty, too. Que rico. Get extra pico. You can call ahead and pick up your order to go.

Legit Mexican-style chicken in Costa Mesa/Newport Beach?! I couldn’t believe it either. I ordered a half chicken plate and devoured the thing. Not just because I was hungry but it the chicken is delicious. To say that this is a nicer version of El Pollo Loco would be insulting to Super Pollo. First, El Pollo Loco is much more«fancy» and second, El Pollo Loco’s quality pales in comparison. Super Pollo serves up delicious chicken in a no frills, no judging atmosphere. Seriously, the sides are just rice and beans and really, that’s all you need. Oh and maybe some tortillas and salsa =)

I used to drop by this place all the time before my morning Trader Joe’s shopping adventures. They have a great value, pretty dang good prices for what you get in my opinion. It’s a small hole in the wall place. If you come during a busy time, you might have to sit outside or you might not get a seat at all. The staff is very friendly, but the food does take a while to make, so you might be waiting for about 10 – 15 minutes when they’re busy. For breakfast, I’ve tried the chicken breakfast burrito, the chorizo breakfast burrito, and bacon quesadilla, and the chicken quesadilla. I think my all time favorite is the bacon quesadilla, but all of them are tasty. For lunch I’ve only had the chicken burrito, which was awesome. Again, a great deal for what you’re getting. This burrito blows any chains out of the water. The guacamole really tops it off. Don’t forget to try their home made salsa. It has a unique taste and it’s somewhat addicting. I love coating the breakfast and lunch burritos in it.

Love their chicken skin and their lemon butter flavor. Definitely a unique taste for rotisserie chicken. The chicken is nice and tender and not dry at all, and the flavoring is soaked in the meat and skin. Their beans are probably my favorite, they are like the typical Mexican restaurant refried beans and taste amazing. I got the whole chicken combo for 19.99 and came with tortillas, salsa, rice, and beans. It was ready within 5 minutes, and tasted awesome. Only con is that the store itself is really small, so recommend taking the food to go if you have a lot of people with you. Other than that, good food spot.

My boyfriend introduced me to this place, he’s been going here for years. Everyone working there is pretty much family. I always get the super chicken nachos w/guacamole + garlic on the side. It really is more than enough for 2 – 3 people. The food is made as you order and the chickens that are grilling are out on display, visible for customers to see. The place isn’t big and parking can be a challenge but there’s parking on the street too. The prices are too good to resist especially if you consider the portions that are given. Service is friendly and it’s a busy place, lots of traffic coming in and out of this little family restaurant.

I order the Regular Half Chicken with Garlic Lemon Butter sauce. This comes with salsa and your choice of flour or corn tortillas. If you want rice and refried beans, get the combo meal. The flavor was all there but I just couldn’t get past the dryness of the meat. I could tell it was overcooked. I also got corn tortillas instead of flour. The Super Chicken Quesadilla was loaded with chicken and stuffed with cheddar cheese, guac, salsa and lettuce. The meat was a little dry in this as well but with the other wet ingredients, it wasn’t too bad. There is limited parking in this area. The seating area is very small inside but there are more tables out in the patio.
