We had eaten at a nearby restaurant, and on our way back to the car the kids talked us in to getting ice cream. So we walk in and the idiot behind the counter is on hold with his medical insurance comp, he actually tells me this, and says he can multi task. So I give him the order, then of course the agent he was holding for answers the phone. He did get 3 of the 4 orders correct, but I felt taken advantage of, with the phone sandwiched between his stupid head and shoulder as my debit card is being swiped. Make calls on your lunch break dufus

We ordered the 2 dollar shaved ice and the boy working there gave us the 6 dollar one… I would never spend six dollars on shaved ice. There were some other boys there talking to him so I didn’t want to say anything and interrupt their conversation. Kind of annoying. He didn’t even fill it up very well. The ice barely went past the cup base. Won’t return :(their ice cream looked good but I’m not taking any more chances… My money is precious! Lol

Great place for vegans! Why didn’t anybody tell me about this place? I LOVE the vegan mozzarella sandwich! Way more decadent than it sounds. Toasted like a panini, and with fresh tomato and basil. And a side of really good potato chips. I also love the vegan vanilla ice cream. Next time I want to try the veggie dog. A really sweet woman works here, and the place has a nice feel to it.

Wonderful homegrown atmosphere! Really nice location and a very decent menu, the tuna melt is delicious and tastes very fresh, as with the BLT. The milkshakes were delicious, I can’t wait to come back and try more flavors of ice cream. The woman there, who I presume was the owner, even asked for improvements, all I can say is keep it up! Maybe french fries instead of chips though, in a perfect world. Very reasonably priced as well.

The service was great, gentlemen was very nice and talked about his Dachshunds. The ice crème was not very good, it tasted like the cheap ice milk kind you get«free» at a buffet style restaurant. I had pralines and crème I think I found one small praline sliver. My wife had the cookie dough which was promised to have TONS of cookie dough pieces. It was a single scoop and I guess it is possible to miss EVERYSINGLE cookie dough piece when scooping. I cannot speak for the food but with the quality of the ice crème am afraid I will not be back to try anything else.

I absolutely love IScream. I do not go to Cotati regularly, but we do make the trip down just to go to this ice cream shop. It’s a great place for the entire family and they have a lot of different flavors to choose from. Everything is local, which we love! Their ice cream is really good and they have a few different cones to choose from as well. We will be going there soon since summer is just starting up again.

I was excited to finally have a place to get something sweet in Cotati after a great sushi dinner. Sadly, this shop is a missed opportunity. This little strip of Cotati offers zero competition to a place like this. This spot should be a warm, welcoming, locally-sourced, high quality ice cream parlor with a line out the door and no empty tables on a Friday night.(all the tables were empty on the warm Friday night we were there). Instead, it’s a mishmash of decent but not mind-blowing ice cream, poor quality baked goods, candy, sodas, coffee beans, ceramic Dalmatians, flavored popcorn and glass seahorse necklaces. Really? The logo colors are neon green and orange which is vaguely Halloween to me. Inside, the walls are painted a baby-poop green with safety orange trim. What about that color combo says«Ice Cream Parlor». Bizarre-o. The staff personality was«strong» and did not appeal to any member of my party. Again, not the warm, welcoming vibe i was hoping for. The whole place has an awkward feel and i couldn’t wait to get out of there. I think businesses like these do better when they focus on being good at ONE thing like Lala’s Creamery in Petaluma. Please: –focus on your product… ice cream –paint the walls something pleasing –play some catchy but, again, non-offensive, music(ever throw a party?) –get rid of all the tchotchkes and crap food items –hire someone appealing and knowledgeable about your product …and enjoy a monopoly on ice cream in Cotati!

I would love to give this place more stars. Conveniently located walking distance from my house. Was so excited to go for first time today. It’s a great corner/downtown Cotati location. It was very clean and neat inside. The menu is nice and they have a variety of items. The service was horrible. A younger guy was working counter. He sighed when my daughter and I walked in and then turned to his friend or(girlfriend) who was clearly waiting to hang or chat. He said it wasn’t this busy earlier. When I asked Simple questions about menu he got upset and answered in a smart tone. He appeared to be very annoyed I was there to buy things. After he rung my order up he hand me a half $ 5 bill and when I asked to have it changed he made a comment like«whatever» and did it. Sat outside. More tables would be nice if city allows it and owners bought more. Overall cute shop I will go back and hopefully the service will be better next time.

Awesome staff and killer food. I live about twenty minutes away, but I still manage to get out here on a regular basis. Totally recommend.

WELOVE the ice cream and food at IScream! Their yummy source for the Ice Cream is Mariposa Creamery which Thomas Keller(*FOODIE) recognizes as THEBESTSTUFFAROUND! As a mother of 6 year old twins, I can also appreciate the variety of menu bc sometimes all the kids was are sweets, when momma is HUNGRY. Eating a yummy Panini with a bowl of soup or a hot dog hits the spot before a tasty treat. The prices are budget friendly and I walk away knowing that I fed my kids healthy food. Chris, one of the owners is welcoming and very helpful. *I read two other reviews, but have never observed the other«woman» being rude to customers. I have seen a few«customers» be RUDE to her, so if you are grumpy, don’t go to a family place that makes my kids smile. My kids always want to go to IScream and I love their location!

Great ice cream! Super selection of ice cream flavors. Gets busy. I think may be another person working would be great. But i enjoyed the ice cream so much I will be back. They have other interesting things on the menu like a doughnut melt which is a doughnut grilled cheese. They have hot dogs, sandwiches, coffee & more. Super nice lady working, cute atmosphere, overall a real nice spot!

This was an okay place. Needs an air conditioner though. I had the blueberry cheesecake and my boyfriend had pistachio. Mine was good but his was very strong. Kind of like an almond extract flavor instead of pistachio.

I am so happy that this ice cream store opened in my little town of cotati!!! it is so good I have gone against my two dessert rule a week to eat there. when I first went I loved how well they redecorated the place after Tama Rama’s shut and what a big selection of food you can choose from. I’ve only had the ice cream, chocolate And spicy chocolate, which were both beyond amazing!!! I always add fairy poop(which is sprinkles of course) to amp it up as well. my boyfriend goes there way too much for his own good and loves the malt milkshakes and there hot dogs. The owners are also very sweet and remember our orders when we come in! they have a sense of humor and work really hard at making there first business endeavor a success!!! nothing bad to say about this place, except I’m sad it didn’t open up sooner! oh and P’s to all the ssu students — they stayed opened until 2am on there first 3 nights for bar goers! so get ready to have a place besides t-bell and in-and-out for late night munchies and milkshakes !!

We’re already regulars! The ice cream is great, and we’re so happy to have these guys in Cotati! Love that the ice cream is locally produced. I love the spicy chocolate and the salted caramel. My wife is a huge fan of the lemon sorbet. I tried a Mojo dog one day, and it was delish. Hoping for more outdoor seating someday– the atmosphere is a bit sparse but they are brand new. I bet it will pick up when SSU is back in session. The owners are getting the hang of things and we have had some lovely conversations with them. A perfect addition to our little town!

Popped in here for dessert on a date night with the hubs(I’ve been waiting patiently for it to open) and was super excited. It was crazy warm outside so ice cream was exactly what was needed. After sampling the peach sorbet, spicy chocolate, lemon sorbet, maple bacon and a couple of others we decided on the sorbet. Keep in mind if I could have managed to stuff scoops of all of them in my face I would have done so. The spicy chocolate was awesome! I went with the lemon sorbet, the hubs got the peach. Another poster commented that the lemon tasted like a frozen lemonade. Yep, EXACTLY like a frozen lemonade. So refreshing! The peach sorbet was creamy and not too sweet. Perfect for a warm summer evening. The folks behind the counter(I’m assuming owners) were very engaging and funny, answering our endless questions patiently. I’m so glad there’s finally another option for ice cream that doesn’t involve a chain.

This little café is adorable, and the owners are very friendly! I love that the ice-cream is sourced locally– so glad to have someone near us! Great customer service, very knowledgeable– lots of fun flavors on the menu, I went with the classic strawberry– but I am pretty sure I will check out the edible cookie dough next time!

Love it. For the record I myself am a veteran of the Ice cream shop trade. I spent my high school summers slangin scoops n shakes back in my hometown of Boonville, CA(for real! Google it.) so I take my ‘Cream seriously. I hold ice cream joints, and their staff to a high standard. As a resident of Penngrove, which is officially devoid of Ice Cream shops, I was so happy to see this new shop go up. Located in the heart of Cotati, I Scream Café is a breath of fresh air for the downtown Cotati strip. Ambiance: The café is large, open and airy, offering plenty of seating, both at tables and along a counter facing the window. Clean and fresh, with fun ice creamy décor. A nice bench offers a good spot to chill, however my only suggestion would be to add some tables with shade out front. Staff: I blanked on their names, but the the two folks who were working(owners I’m assuming) were awesome. Local, Friendly, informative, excited about their new business, and willing to entertain my wife’s very specific taste. They were busy when we went in, and still made time to chat about the store and the ice cream and their plans for the future. The Goods: Now to the good part… Ice cream is made locally by Mariposa ice creamery out of Napa. Small batch, unique and delicious flavors, hand made. Out of this world. Upon our visit they had 20 or so flavors, ranging from Mariposa’s signature Spicy Chocolate to PBnJ, and even a Stout cream. My wife and I shared a PBnJ shake, being total peanut butter heads, and were absolutely amazed. So good. Want more. Must go back for more… Their menu is extensive, featuring baked goodies, ice cream sandwiches where you choose the cookie, and the ice cream! They also have a full lineup of lunch items, salads, Panini style grilled sandos, choice hot dogs, and full coffee bar. Overall: 5 stars. No question. The quality of the ‘Cream is just outstanding. Everything else is just icing on the cake. Finally a place that rivals Screamin’ Mimi’s, and it’s just down the road from me! Woohoo!

The owners are so friendly. We tried the strawberry, lemon, chocolate, spicy chocolate, and salted caramel. All excellent… Really hard to choose a favorite. The lemon is so bright and fresh, and the strawberry is like eating fresh berries. They also have hot dogs and patty melts — we’ll have to make another trip to try those.
