Karla is so awesome, she will make you look like Elsa from Frozen, if you want her to. I did, and she did. I am so freaking happy. She really understands, «get this brassy yellow OUT.» She is fantastic with bleach and a great stylist too. I am very happy I found someone who knows what they are doing so close to my new home.

I had a great experience with Karla. She is very talented! Thank you Karla and I will see you next month.

Karla always does a great job! I usually get a color and cut… now I am letting my hair go gray and she’s helping me make the transition.

Was looking for a new salon to go to and I was so happy with the outcome. Joslyn was my stylist and she did an amazing job I left the salon looking and feeling great.

I went in to Moxie with just a picture of what I wanted. I had never been there nor had any friends who had. I decided to give it a shot because it was a spontaneous move! I walked in to a super beautiful, CLEAN salon. It’s so comfortable and cute inside! Joslyn did my hair and she did an absolute amazing job! Just like the picture I had wanted. I had a light brown/​gold hair and I wanted it dark red/​burgundy. She looked at the picture for 30 secs and created the exact replica! She seriously is absolutely amazing. Honestly pretty reasonable for what I got. She dyed it, trimmed it, and styled it. She is amazing! If you’re looking for a new salon, go here and get Joslyn! LOVE LOVE LOVE

After year of reading reviews this is the first one I’ve written.
I had scheduled a appointment at this salon. When I walked inside there were two ladies styling their clients hair. One of them looked over at me, and a second later continued conversing and styling the hair of their client.
When you enter the salon, your first step is into their working area, and there is a small waiting area in right corner of this salon. I walked over there and sat down for a few minutes. I noticed another stylist washing their clients hair about 15 feet away from where I sat.
After four minutes awaiting like a ghost for acknowledgement within the salon, I walked out with the same reception I received when entering.

I have been going here forever and I love the service and the overall experience I get when I do. Joslyn is magic with color and extentions… I get so many compliments!!!

Went here for the first time and loved my haircut! The person who cut my hair is Brandy and she is a nice person and did a great job. The Salon had a relax and chill vibe to it, overall a good experience!

Gone to Brandy twice now for a haircut and she’s done a fantastic job! Salon is cute and quaint in downtown cotati and I’ve never had trouble finding parking right in front. Definitely recommend!

Never ever ever ever again!!! Went in for a touch up on the roots of my color, the person redid it three times, never came out right and here I am a week later at another salon to get it done right!!! Paid moxie over $ 150 just so I could go somewhere else a week later to get it done right!!! I have never written a review before but this one was really above and beyond bad!

Made my first appointment and it won’t be my last! Great atmosphere, staff and product line! I booked an appointment at this place by complete accident, thought it was another place in Cotati. Best mistake I’ve made!
I knew it was gonna be good when I walked in and saw a sea of blue bottles! YEP! they are a Moroccan Oil salon WOO HOO! No longer do I have to drive to Blush in Petaluma for my hair care products.
The prices are a tad bit high, but well worth it. Brandy cut my hair (and I will continue to request her) She did a great quality cut and has a delightful personality to go along with her expertise in hair. I left there very happy and recommend this salon without hesitation!

Makes life so much easier. This was my first time here. The salon is nicely decorated, modern and clean. I got a great cut with highlights and low lights for a great price from Karla. All the women were friendly as were the other clients. I will be back.

I had a very nice experience with Karla yesterday. Based on other reviews on Unilocal,I decided to give Moxie a try. I had been thinking of a style change for some time, and have had many truly awful experiences with stylists who didn’t have a clue about curly hair, and who were just not good at communicating.
Karla was very thorough at asking questions about cuts I’d had in the past, and different types of techniques, and how I felt about them. After some discussion, and after she had evaluated my particular hair, we settled on a chin length bob with the cut slightly longer in the front and shorter at the neck. She also removed some of the bulk of the curl in the back. I feel sorry for hairdressers who have to deal with people like me (phobias about getting haircuts) but Karla did a great job, she’s very respectful of what you want, and I really feel lucky to have found her.
Also, the salon is very pleasant, and the atmosphere was very friendly. Prices are reasonable as well.

Moxie is a great little place to get a haircut. The salon is very cute, the stylists are friendly, and the price is very reasonable. I like the atmosphere, it’s laid back and friendly.
I was able to call and get an appointment for the same day with Peggy, and I was excited because I saw all the reviews mentioning her. Unfortunately when I got there Peggy was a no-​show. However, Karla was very friendly and spent a lot of time making sure my cut was exactly what I wanted. She was super helpful in suggesting products/​techniques for my particular hair type. She charged $ 45 + tip, and I was happy to pay that.
I’ll definitely be returning, as I was so happy with my last experience.

I heart Brandy. she does a fantastic job on coloring and cutting my hair, and she has done it in such a way that although I have a lot of highlights and beautiful color, it’s not so high maintence that I am constantly shelling out money for upkeep. The multi colored highlights look so natural, and my hair is incredibly soft, even after processing.
My cut is incredible too! I can wash it, spray some «its a 10» in it, comb it through and walk out the door. no need to style it, it’s got a great cut that just falls into place. The flip side of that, is that I can blow it out and flat iron it to be super straight ala Jennifer Aniston or I can put a few curls in it and big beautiful waves. It’s all so simple and easy, and the cut lends it self to a million and 1 variations (even a pony tail!)
prices are very reasonable, the ladies in the salon are really fun, and it’s has such an amazing vibe. Not pretentious, just awesome.
I have never had as many compliments about how beautiful my hair is from strangers as I have since Brandy has been doing my hair.

Peggy was very sweet, and her scalp massages are OMG.
She charges $ 45 plus tip for (I’m assuming) any type of haircut. She kept it a little too simple, even though I asked for something drastic. So if you’re just going in for a trim, I’d recommend going to a cheaper place. But $ 45 for a new, complicated style is pretty reasonable – or so I hear. Plus, again, the scalp massages – OMG.

I love Moxie. It has a very inviting atmosphere, the staff is friendly and they are not outrageously priced!
Joslyn is my hairdresser and I love her to death. She does great hair extension, hair cuts and colors. People… look no further book an appointment with her today!

Finally, a hair salon that isn’t gossiping and actually gives you the cut/​style you request. So often I come out with what the stylist likes, instead of what I ask for– but not at Moxie!
I recommend Peggy! She gave an amazing massage at the shampoo bowl, perfect cut and style, and she was friendly. It was comfortable, professional, down to earth, mature, very clean and locally owned. My treatment was $ 45 +tip great deal! Also she didn’t try to «sales pitch» products on me, very easy going. I will definitely return!

Yay! Peggy has found a new salon in the adorable Moxie. Very well designed and simple. The washing station sinks have head rests in the sinks themselves, which is something new for me and oh-​so welcome an innovation.
Looking forward to going back in a couple of weeks for a highlights. And per Heather P’s excellent suggestion I’ll be doing before/​after photos.
