Ruthy’s Real Meals

This is as good as it gets. Meals were delivered as expected. They were clearly marked and easy to reheat. (A little more reheat instruction, would be welcome) Everything I ordered was delicious! I can’t afford to use this service every week, but will plan to order the weeks my husband is «on call» and we are too busy to cook or eat out. #Quality

I like the idea of this place, and I cannot attest to the cooked and delivered meals, but I didn’t have a great experience the one time I went. I came here on my lunch break to get a quick sandwich. I was the only one in the place, no line which was nice. Wanted the egg salad sandwich, but was notified they were out. Tried ordering a different meal but they were out of another ingredient to make it. Settled on a veggie sandwich and sat down while I waited. There were like 5 people working there, including the owner, but my sandwich took FOREVER?! At least 15 minutes. Really for a veggie sandwich? Everyone working seemed totally unconcerned that I was increasingly becoming impatient. Yes, I get that this is primarily a take out place, so maybe most of their attention is to cook the to-​go meals, and dine in customers are not as important? The lady (owner I’m assuming) was friendly and all but once I got my food, I barely had time to eat as I had to get back to work! Sandwich was good, nothing great though. If you are dining in, I wouldn’t bother.

Ruthy’s Real Meals is a perfect way to have healthy, home-​cooked meals to take out, warm at home and enjoy! The meals are made with local, fresh ingredients and are delicious. Ruth has a storefront in Cotati for takeout and a weekly order/​delivery service.
The takeout meals are packaged and ready to go, no waiting. It is so nice to be able to stop in and pick up several entrees for the week. Her servings are generous; I get two meals out of each. I am vegetarian and it is unusual to find so many choices. There are a few entrees each week, which vary from week to week so you don’t get tired of anything
Many restaurants, even upscale, think they are doing a vegetarian a favor to have one entrée on the menu; and the one entrée is usually a pasta (or risotto). Where is their imagination? How would you (restaurant chefs) like to go to a restaurant knowing every time you go there, you have one option, if that? You could get some ideas from Ruthy’s.
Ruthy’s also has meat/​chicken/​fish meals.
The desserts are scrumptious, don’t miss those!

I’ve lived in Penngrove for two and a half years and never knew about this little place. Thank goodness I found it because the food is fabulous and very generously portioned. Don’t even think about trying the desserts unless you want to be hooked for life!

I have eaten at Ruthy’s a number of times and the food is wonderful. The meals I had were very well made, tasty and nutritious. I especially like that fact that everything is home made and fresh. I can easily recommend this place to all my friends and family. Ruthy is a great person to work with.

Had lunch at Ruthy’s while attending a conference in Rohnert Park. It was wonderful. I had a mushroom pecan veggie burger and my companions had chicken salad and meatloaf sandwiches. Everything was fresh and delicious and the atmosphere welcoming and accommodating, Cool place and near everything in the Rohnert Park/​Cotati area. Perfect for lunch and you can also take out if you’re headed for a picnic or the airport. Excellent value. Loved it.

We just had our second delivery of Ruthie’s Real Meals. My husband had knee replacement surgery and our friends at church gave us Ruthie’s Meals as a gift. What a treat. Everything is fresh, nutritious and delicious. We are thrilled with the quality, and the interesting choices. Everything is delivered on time, beautifully packaged and presented. I am a fan for life. Thank you!

We have become a big fan of Ruthy’s Real Meals. Everything is tasty and there is a nice variety of items to choose from each time you order. We especially enjoy that she uses fresh, local and organic ingredients, whenever possible, and the items come with a list of ingredient so you know what is in everything. We also like that she is accommodating to special needs. Ruth is a gem and we feel lucky we found her!

Ruthy’s customer care was excellent. She is a warm, friendly person who exudes the health of her meals. Her customer service couldn’t be better.
The bag was well organized, with explanations carefully presented. I can’t get over the research, kitchen and computer time as well as the delivery time she puts into her meals. My mother, age 87, remarked, «Does she do this for everybody?!»
The meal we tried was wonderful: we loved the split peas soup and the spinach salad We commented that we liked the way she didn’t over-​spice or salt her food, letting the flavors of the natural food come through.
When we got to the main course of apple cider chicken with roasted barley and braised red cabbage, no one said a word. I think we were all lost in the epicurean excellence.
The blast was the beet chocolate cake, which we presented with two candles and a sparkler for the birthday girl. I loved the fact that the cake was moist and didn’t feel heavy with sugar. It was very unusual — and a delicious combination.
From the other reviews I think we will have to have Ruthy make our Thanksgiving dinner next year. I have my hands full with an elderly mother, disabled brother and caregivers — so Ruthy will be my secret weapon!
Ruthy, we had a wonderful, memorable evening because of you! Thank you for the warmth and intelligence you put in your food; each one of us were enriched by the care you take!

Ruthy’s food is made with care, using fresh, local ingredients that live up to the highest standards — organic, free range, sustainable. Her meals are exceptional and her desserts are even better! Portions are generous and leftovers are delicious the second time around. The best part is that she offers a full Thanksgiving Dinner that is even better than her usual weekly meals! I’m definitely going for it again this year & can’t wait for the tender turkey, mmmmm chestnut stuffing, mashed root veggies, spiced orange cranberry sauce… mmm
If you’ve never tried her food, you re definitely missing out!

When I saw the big blue cooler at my front door announcing the arrival of my dinners for the week, I felt like it was Christmas.
Ruthy’s Real Meals brings honest-​to-​goodness real home-​cooked quality meals right to your door at a very affordable price. At the very least, try it for one week or give a week’s worth (or more) of good cookin’ to a friend or loved one. Give it a try. You’ll be delighted.
