Picked up a veggie pizza last night from Sal’s. It was my first time. I’ve been looking for really good pizza since moving from Berkeley(really miss Zachary’s inimitable deep dish). Sal’s was great. It smelled just like the pizzeria in Boston we loved when I was growing up. Not sure what that particular smell is exactly(authenticity, care, ???) but you definitely don’t get it everywhere. We loved the pizza, which seemed just right in every way… crisp edge, chewy bottom, nice fresh ingredients. Will definitely be back for more.

This is the best pizza I have had in NorCal. The salads are also incredible! The staff is always friendly and I return over and over again. Love this place !

My son and I came to town to tour Sonoma State and we stopped here for lunch afterwards. It is a small place but the pizza was like it is in NY. Nice and thin and tasty and plenty to go around. I only wish my husband(who’s from NY) had been with us!

When I moved close to this place in 2014 I thought it was the best pizza I had ever had. For a few months it wasn’t consistent in quality and was lacking. Today they totally redeemed themselves to the greatest pizza I have ever had again. My wife says its on the spicy side. I think I cried a little while I ate it because it is so good. I order from here 1 to 4 times a month. Awesome pizzas, calzones and garlic twists.

Good neighborhood pizza shop, with beer and wine available, too. If they close in the evenings before you get here, their pizza is sometimes still available at S nearby bar; look for the sandwich sign on the sidewalk in town.

The pizza here is really delicious. You can tell the difference between this pizza and chain pizzerias undoubtedly! A little pricey but I’m guessing that’s cause they are local and are making things from scratch! Definitely will be a repeat customer. Also staff was friendly

Love their pizza and crust. My friend and I arrived at almost closing time. They still took our order but we need to do a take out. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean restaurant.

Great service, great pizza. My bf and I stopped by on our way back from the casino. I eat gluten free and their gluten free pizza was fantastic! Only comes in a mini size, but a great portion for a meal. We split a salad. Their ranch is delicious– it’s homemade. A little punchy with some garlic flavor, I think it was. You can tell they use quality ingredients! Would definitely recommend. It’s on the pricer side, and they charge $ 3 extra for the gluten free crust. Easy to find and we were able to get street parking.

Went to pick up my sister from SSU and stopped by Sal’s for a quick dinner. We ordered a small combo pizza and a canoli for dessert. Nothing super special but definitely nothing to complain about. Staff was friendly and atmosphere was laid back. Will come again!

I had a Groupon for Sal’s so next time I was in the area I dropped in. It was a clean and cute roadside storefront with eight inside and two outside tables. Service was fast and friendly but it was the pizza that was the real star. We ordered 2 fourteens, one with mushroom/half pepperoni and half anchovy and the other with spinach and ricotta. Crust was crisp with just the right amount of chew, sauce was homemade and not too sweet and the toppings were fresh and plentiful. Overall not fancy or experimental, just high quality fresh ingredients perfectly prepared. This could be our new local hangout.

The pizza is really good! if you have never been here you should definitely go! there pizza is hand crafted and you just by the taste you can tell that it is made passionately. My main judgment on pizza is the greasiness and Sal’s pizzas are not greasy at all. The individuals that work here are like a family and share their love with their customers! the employees interact with the customers making you feel at home, as well as helping you decide on an amazing pizza. Alex was really nice and reached out to me after my bad experience. She offered some free grub due to the less-than-stellar experience. So I am giving them another star for actually caring about their customers. I haven’t had a chance to cash in on the offer, since I live far from their establishment. But I will go again if I can.

Really amazing place! Had the pesto twists which were perfectly seasoned and yummy. The pepperoni pizza with garlic was also very good. My only criticism is I asked for extra sauce and I definately did not get it, and if that was extra sauce then they should change that real quick because it was lighter then every regular sauced pizza I have had. The ranch is killer. A perfect consistency with a nice spice from the garlic. Definitely will be back!

Simply awesome! Really good pizza, nearly New York style, but a bit thicker crust. Nice group of people working there too. Homemade sauces and dressing, wow! I had never tried dipping pizza into ranch dressing before. The waitress gave me a little taste of the dressing and I dipped my pizza into it — OHMY, that was awesome, not only the combo, but the dressing — good and garlicky, YES! We will be back.

Sal’s Pizzeria has some great pizza. I ordered the pepperoni which was a little greasy but that’s just how I like it! The sauce and cheese were tasty with a good ratio. As a college student I got a discount and was really excited about the deal I got. I’ll definitely come back several more times while attending university.

Their pizza is really, really good. Not quite as thin as a true New York pizza, but they do say it’s Sicilian influenced. Their wings are yummy & meaty, the salads and sandwiches are also really generous and very good. The only thing that I wish is for them to expand to offer pasta to accompany their options of «side» meatball, eggplant, or chicken Parmesan and be able to create more meals! Aaah well, guess I don’t really need the carbs…

Great pizza: personalized pizza with ricotta, meatballs, black olives, and artichoke hearts. Finished with perfect cannoli. We ordered delivery on a Saturday and were told that it would likely be an hour – to be expected. I know they’re busy, and we weren’t in a big hurry, so that was okay. Made a salad while we waited. After an hour and a half, I called to check on the status; Alex apologized and assured us that the pizza had recently gone out for delivery, and offered to discount the price(I’d paid in advance by credit card). She charged back a bit more than half to my card, which I really appreciated, and was very professional while being sincerely apologetic. Two hours after first ordering the delivery man called and said he was having trouble finding our specific condo unit(it’s dark in our complex). Once he got here, he apologized profusely, and assured us there would be no charge at all. We didn’t bother mentioning that we paid by card over the phone. Got a call shortly afterwards from Alex. She left a message letting me know that she would be voiding the card purchase. In spite of the late delivery, got great customer service, and we’ll order again. REALLY appreciated that Alex went above and beyond to accommodate us(without any complaint from us, just an inquiry). Thank you for making me feel like a valued customer. That’s 5-star service.

I have to say firstly, that the owner Alyx went above and beyond all expectation to make my next experience from my first super stellar. I explained all the complaints we had and she addressed them all. I have to state how happy we were to get home and open our large pizza to see just how large the large pizza is! I would happily pay the fullest price for it! It’s an awesome deal and fed a whole bunch of hungry peeps! The thing I really appreciated though was the how the girl handing the pizza to me pointed out that because the pizza contained a lot of veggies it would get soggy if we left it in the box. I rushed it home(had it there within minutes, we live down the street) and we promptly slid a metal pizza pan under it. Our largest pizza pan barely fit it! This was the total saving grace though. It did seep through the light paper it was on, but the metal pan kept it from getting soggy and from getting the box soggy as well. The flavor of the combo was awesome! A little salty with all the meats, but that was our choice. The toppings were all premium and the garlic was heavy and spot on! We LOVE garlic and were thoroughly impressed. What I really loved about our last to go order was the upgrade in the salad. Alyx told me she was getting new containers and I could tell they changed a bit of the formula of the salads from feedback. OMG! What a difference! We got the side salad and it was a wonderful size to compliment a large pizza. The other thing I really loved about the service when I called in was the detailed explanation of the dressings. The dressings are all homemade and apparently there was a mixup in the formulation of the blue cheese dressing. She said based on the way they had to make it the combined the ranch with literally blue cheese. Maybe it wasn’t a mix up, but a lack of ingredients and timing, but either way the girl told me people either love it or hate it. I love blue cheese, but I really don’t like ranch so I knew I wouldn’t like. Even homemade buttermilk ranch. I’ve never been a fan really. But I know homemade buttermilk ranch is to die for in some instances. However, we did order the Caesar dressing which sooooo bomb! It was really awesome. It kind of reminded me of a classic Caesar that contained a bit of a twist, like a Champagne vinaigrette. I think someone added a bit more acid(ie lemon juice likely) and that rocked in my book. Perfectly balanced still though. I love my vinegar but this wasn’t too much for everyone else trying it, they loved it too. Our honest to God assessment of the food from our first time to our second was night and day. The owner is obviously taking all input and cares very deeply. If you’ve had a negative experience, give this place another try, but do express your concerns. If it was over or under cooked to your liking, let them know that. It’s also obvious they use incredibly high quality ingredients. So take my advice, the larger the pizza you buy … the better the value and bang for your buck. It may seem a little expensive at first, but when you get that pizza in your hand. You won’t want to stop eating it. And the larger it is, the more you share. But seriously, it really is the best bang for your buck. We were super impressed about how much you get for the price of a large. You could seriously feed 4 or 5 hungry guys easily. Where else can you do that for about 30 dollars? And it goes awesome with beer on a Friday night. Need I really say more? I really do appreciate Alyx reaching out about our concerns and addressing them so kindly. This place is totally on our local radar for awesome food. And the last thing worth stating? The staff was over emphatic to hear we were giving the place another try. Why wouldn’t they be? They seem like some awesome people to talk to while having your pizza! It’s a quaint spot after all! So get cozy, the pizza oven will keep you warm on a cold night … and a nice cold beer will keep you cool during a hot Summer day. I can’t wait to try a bunch of other pizza combinations … super stoked.

I really like this place. As a former New Yorker the pizza has the New York flavor and texture that we love. The staff is always friendly and conversational. It has a home town feel which is perfect for this area. Definitely try the cannoli for dessert, you won’t be disappointed :)
