Best cupcakes I have ever had! I enjoy every bite! The customer service is amazing and I would love to invite everyone to come out and enjoy this location in Cotati/RP area. I placed an order of cakes and was able to cancel them on time with positive response and with a smile!

I went to Sift for the first time today. Holy cow the whoopee cookies are delicious! Emily treated us like royalty and gave excellent recommendations of cupcakes and other desserts. I also ordered 3 dozen mini cupcakes for our corporate function next week. I will definitely be back to pick up more of these whoopee cookies. Thank you Emily for the amazing service!

Honestly I love sweets but it seems like every Sift place I go to its the same problem. The icing is way to sweet and the cupcake seems to be to be too moist. Its a waste because everytime I get a cupcake their I tend to remove half of the icing. I’m sorry Sift but Im going to look elsewhere for an excellent cupcake

I am pretty much in shock that I am giving anything less than 5 stars… i used to rave about this place to everyone I knew! Experience: The once absolutely delicious, unbeatable cupcakery is now above and beyond beatable. I’m not quite sure what happened. When I lived in Rohnert Park, less than 2 years ago, it was a weekly treat to go get french macaroons(my favorite) and of course a selection of their once, super special cupcakes… ok, maybe their flavors are still special… but they should cook them thoroughly, make sure they are cooked properly and NOTOLD and stale or bring down the price! Instead of standards and prices going up, it’s prices going up and standards going down. My sift days may have officially come to an end. At least my dentist will be happy about that. Lol! I drove over 30 minutes especially for this treat and to surprise my family. Disappointed is the nicest way to put how I felt after spending over $ 25 for a dozen of the smallest possible macaroons and almost every single one was STALE and for me, unedible! Of course, I find this out after driving for 45 minutes in traffic home, I snuck a bite and there was no way I was turning around and wasting my time going back. I also bought a few other treats, Samoa cupcake(my usual favorite) and another cupcake, oh I can’t remember the name… this was last week, sorry… going off memory. And yes, disappointed with one of the cupcakes even! Very surprising! I have never been disappointed by a specialty cupcake in my sugar loving life. I probably have the biggest sweet tooth in Sonoma County. ;) And yes, I’m willing to challenge anyone for the biggest sweet tooth title. ;) Sorry, had to put some lightness in this review… I am not fond of writing negative reviews, but I also wouldn’t wish my experience on the devil himself! Stars: 2 stars, instead of 1, since the young lady helping me was friendly at first… but then seemed annoyed when I kept ordering. But she smiled. :) So an extra star for that smile! Thank you! I appreciate smiles! :)) If I do go back… I am really hoping this was a fluke, but from other recent reviews, it seems they really have gone down hill, big bummer… but IF, I do… I will call ahead, to find out when their macaroons were made… it’s kind of embarrassing when you show up with a huge smile, a box of goodies and the goodies are stale. *facepalm* That will not be happening again. And I hope that it doesn’t happen to you! I would ask to sample each flavor of macaroon… it was every flavor, with the exception of the salted caramel macaroons that were stale. Samoa cupcake was not cooked thoroughly and the other cupcake I bought, my 6 year old ate so fast that who knows what it tasted like. ;)

Stopped by last minute to check out Sift as a possible place to do our wedding cupcakes and we are so glad we did! What a treat to be able to come by without an appt and be given courteous and satisfactory service. We were greeted by the lovely Mariah and she was more than helpful and friendly as we asked questions about options and flavors. Excellent 1st impression and the cupcakes we tried were divine. Our favorites were Battle Royal, Samoa and Pink Champagne. Thumbs up! :)

Some of the best cupcakes I have ever had. I am a huge fan. The selection of flavors is awesome and something for everyone. I do agree with some of the other reviews that their quality and service went downhill when they began to grow. It was very obviously different. I stand by my words that they are great cupcakes and there are awesome flavors. However… Since their quality and service has declined, I do not partake nearly as often as I used to. When prices go up and quality goes down, I tend to back off just like others. It changed this much: I used to go at least once a week, now I go maybe once a year.

This place used to be great, I don’t know what happened! Upon entering the empty shop, the three ladies working behind the counter just stood there and chatted amongst themselves completely ignoring the presence of customers. I had to let them know, «I’m ready to go, whenever any of you are willing to help me…» To which they seemed confused. I was always taught to greet customers and offer assistance working in these situations, which seems completely lost on this establishment. The snickerdoodle cruffles, once raved about among friends, tasted about a week old, dried out and shuffled in and out of the display case/refrigerator for a few too many days. The cupcake of month for July is probably the best thing I’ve ever had from Sift, but the sheer amount of heavy, too-sweet, dense frosting is a waste when you have to remove 1⁄3 of if to be able to enjoy the rest of the cupcake.

2 years later: I don’t have time to bake these days at all, and I ordered some over the phone(despite the price) and was very HAPPY! From the phone service this time around to the pick up, to the way the cupcakes looked and tasted in my custom order, it was perfection. No complaints!

We got 5 different flavors of cupcakes to go. Just tried the pink champagne and it is the best cupcake I have ever had before. I am confident the other 4 will be just as good. The raspberry lemon macaroons are also amazing. We like 3 hours away and I wish we bought more to go.

I’m updating my review bc I feel that the service has gone downhill. Though Sift still produces a good product, the experience keeps me away. First, if you’re open until 8PM, you shouldn’t start closing shop until 8PM. As a customer, it is off-putting for someone to put chairs up, turn the open sign off, etc., when the shop is still open and will be for a period of time. It makes it seem like the staff only care about going home, rather than serving the customer who’s in the store. The same goes for the product– there have been many times that I’ve come in as early as 30 – 45 minutes before closing and the staff inform me that they’ve tossed the frosting and are unable to fill my request for a specific item bc they’re out of this. Really? Well, my gym is open till 10PM. They don’t restrict access to the facility 30 minutes before closing. Why does this seem to be an acceptable policy? Lastly, they do custom cake orders. Well, when I called to order a cake for my daughters bday, I was disappointed by the lack of customization that was available. There are plenty of other bakeries that have great desserts who will be receiving my business from now on. It’s unfortunate because for a long period of time I frequented this location regularly to pick up birthday treats for coworkers and friends or to get dessert with my family, but due to recent experiences, I choose to go elsewhere.

Sift is probably one of my favorite places in the entire world… What can I say, I love dessert. If someone gave Sift a review of less than 5 stars, I would say it is just safe to assume they are crazy. I have yet to find cupcakes that even compare to Sift and their other desserts are delicious as well. I first discovered Sift as a student at Sonoma State somewhere around 2007. It was love at first taste and it became my new spot for my friends and I whenever we wanted something sweet. The Snickerdoodle is their best cupcake(in my opinion) but they are all good… The Samoa, the Battle Royale, All for the Cookie, and the Stud Muffin are some other favorites of ours. When I graduated from SSU in 2010 we used them for our graduation party. Huge success. When my husband(also SSU alum) and I got married last year, they catered the desserts for our wedding. Everyone loved the dessert bar and I still hear about how good it all was!

NEVEREVEREVER get a gift card or shop at Sift in Cotati. I went in and asked for a gift card, gave the extremely rude cashier my card she swiped it several times and handed me the card. I went home and just double checked on my balance and she took the money from my account TWICE and the gift card had NO money on it. When I called them there response was«oops I’m sorry» here is s email to respond to the issue. They REFUSEDTOMAKEITRIGH. DONOTVISITSIFTINCOTSTI.

I pretty much would eat anything from here. The cupcakes are delicious and sooo moist! Yes, I like many others hate that word but it’s really the only one I can use to describe just how good they are. They are even amazing the next day. My favorites are the pink champagne and snickerdoodle! The macaroons are also to die for.

Many years later, I’ve decided that I’ve made my last visit to any of the Sift locations. Over this time, the flavors have evolved, but my favorites made the cut, and now that have many more options than just cupcakes. Unfortunately, the quality has not kept up with the growth of the business. Now, the cupcakes are consistently gummy(not moist, gummy). Every six months or so I’ve tried again thinking that the last time was just a fluke – only to get another gummy cupcake. It’s a shame. No more chances. If I’m craving a cupcake I’ll go to Oliver’s Market. Sorry, Sift.

By far the BEST cupcakes in the world… and I can say that because I’m a cupcake connoisseur and have been to many places in the world. Everywhere I go, I usually judge the place on their Red Velvet cupcake because that’s a hit or miss for me. I have never found a better one than here at Sift! No matter what flavor your heart desires, throw in an Oh La La because you won’t regret it. I first found Sift while attending Sonoma State University and at that time they only had one location and a handful of cupcake flavors. I’m THRILLED to see the success they have had over the last 7 years and I hope to bring my future children here one day! Anytime I’m in town is a good enough excuse for a cupcake when it comes to Sift!!!

I really like this cupcake shop and dessert bar. It’s pretty easy to find off Hwy 101 although I usually do miss the parking lot entrance and have to turn around to get to the store. The cupcakes are normal size, with a good amount of frosting and are not filled in the middle(at least not the ones I tried). They are VERY attractive and when I brought them to share with my friends everyone wanted to sample each cupcake rather than being able to select which single one they wanted. I thought the cupcakes tasted great — not too sweet, with the frosting to enhance them. My more conservative friend thought there was a little too much frosting, but you can always leave some of that behind, and she commented that she hates when carrot cakes have too little and this one did not have too little frosting. We tried the peppermint, gingerbread(both seasonal), lemon and carrot cake and I loved all of them. I also bought a couple of their rice krispie treats with frosting inside, a whoopie cookie pie and a small cake-ball type of dessert. Everything was amazing! They also offer frosting shots in their store, which I would totally do but haven’t yet because everything else is so tempting.

I have never been a fan of cake but I like frosting and fillings. This place rocks cupcakes! Snicker-doodle is my favorite, but I have never had anything I didn’t love there. We bought a dozen for Thanksgiving with the Thanksgiving theme. They were so pretty. They said Happy on one and Thanksgiving on another. The others were decorated with mashed potatoes and gravy, cherry pie, cute little turkeys, flowers, green beans and even one with yams and marshmallows. I got a lot of complements on them though I didn’t claim them as my own. They are very talented chefs and artists. The salted caramel macaroon is absolutely amazing too. I like to buy an assortment to go with coffee for meetings but I always buy extra of the caramel. I think their frosting shots idea is genius!(I did say that I love frosting, right?)

Best Cupcakes. Love the stud muffin. They were winners of an episode of cupcake wars on food network & their moist and creative cupcakes will show you why. It’s a great treat and at $ 3.50 a cupcake it’s a better sweet treat than ice cream.

You know what I hate? When bakeries can’t get a freakin Red Velvet Cake or cupcake right. Usually places will just make a «Red Velvet cupcake» with chocolate cake and red dye, essentially it tasting like well, chocolate cake. NOT Sift’s though. Sift’s has the best Red Velvet Cupcakes around and understands the flavor and color of a Red Velvet cupcake. There are few things that get me in a good mood instantly. Sift’s Red Velvet cupcakes are one of them. Oh and these other flavors are pretty good too. ~Snickerdoodle ~Cheesecake(My husband’s favorite) ~Carrot Cake Thank you Sift’s for making the best Red Velvet cupcakes around.
