Marvin’s Restaurant

The food and coffee is very good, but for us the servers are what makes this one of our favorite breakfast joints. They always take our special requests patiently and the cooks in the back nail it every time. Try the Huevos Rancheros and the Marvin’s Scramble, two of of our favorites.

I took my sister here for her birthday and regret it 100%. The service was horrible. Our server would just make rushes by without taking the time to see what we needed or wanted and we sat with completely empty drinks for several minutes multiple times throughout our time there. Keep it mind it wasnt even busy. When we got our food it was pretty bad. She got a vegetarian scramble and I got a salad and sandwich. Everything was flavorless and strangely textured. Then I found a hair in my food. I didn’t make a big deal of it, simply asked that my meal be removed from the bill. When they brought me the bill, only $ 2 had been taken off. Even the manager was reluctant to help. Oh, and then my sister and I both got food poisening. Seeing as eating there was the only common factor in our food consumption that week, I think it’s pretty clear where that was from. I have worked in restaurants for 11 years and am always told I am the ideal guest because I understand that things happen and am patient with the process, but this was easily the worst experience I have ever had eating out and I will not only never go there again but advise others not to as well. I would give this place 0 stars if that was an option.

Really good food at a good price. The staff is friendly and pleasant to everyone. The food had a feel of home made and not just fast food, get them in get them out style. Definitely will go again.

Just ordered breakfast to pick up and sent my boyfriend to get it. When he got here I looked and found that I received bacon and eggs not the steak and eggs that I ordered. I called to see if I could come back and get some steak and the women on the phone still could not understand what I was saying. She at one point though I was talking about biscuits and gravy… We live out In The country so when we drive into town to get food and it’s wrong it’s just all the more disappointing. She made the excuse that there phone is bad. All I’m saying is if you have a restaurant and offer food to go. You should probably get a better phone! Plus they over cook there bacon.

We love to have breakfast here whenever we can. We have been coming to Marvin’s for almost a year now and this place is always busy. The service its slow at times but food is great and the staff is always friendly.

We went here to attempt to have breakfast this morning. We were served water, and they let us sit there for 40 minutes before anyone asked us if our order had been taken. The waitress came back 10 minutes later to take our order. We wait. Our son starts having a melt down because he’s hungry, 6, and not very good at waiting. We wait some more. After about 75 minutes of waiting and no one checking in on us, no refills our waters, or touched up my husbands coffee. We walked. When my husband told them why we are leaving, they said okay. Not sorry. Just, okay. No idea what the food tastes like, as we were never served. I do not recommend this place.

I tried the Mexican Benedict the other day. Eggs Benedict is usually my go to breakfast, besides chicken fried steak and eggs, but when you throw chorizo in the mix, you had me at, «instead of ham».
Absolutely recommend. The staff is nice and atmosphere is homey. So happy to have moved a minute’s walk away.

Nice little restaurant with great breakfast food. Large portions, great service and great food. I love breakfast food and this place had it perfect! Will come back for sure when we are visiting!

We love to eat here. It’s a home town type place. For the longest time I always got a burger and loves it. Most the time I order breakfast items now and am always happy. The coffee is great too.

Living in the Rohnert Park area for three years now, I can say Marvin’s is my favorite place to get breakfast. I have never had a bad experience with the food or the service. I usually order an egg white omelette along with a white mocha (highly recommend for those who like their coffee sweet!). The homemade jams are also delicious. All around great place for breakfast and brunch!

Disappointing decline in food quality. I used to love this place. Lipstick on my coffee mug this morning also makes me wonder about their attention to cleanliness.

My omellete was very dry. Almost like a piece of paper with a filling of dry mushrooms and sausage. The eggs benedict looked good. I should have gotten that. Live and Learn

I don’t see how anyone could not like the food here! I can see service being slow on weekends but that is bc it is so popular. Have gone here for years and the Ppls working here are very nice, and the food is fresh, hot, and very very good. Love the cozy atmosphere and homey feel.

I have gone to Marvin’s a few times now and always leave not so satisfied. Last time I told the cashier that my eggs were horrible and all he could say was ‘I’m sorry to hear that’. Today we couldn’t get a refill on coffee, I had to get sugar from another table and had to go to the counter to get a to go box. The girl kept walking past us but wouldn’t help us. When we decided to pay and leave, we had to ask someone else for the check. We went to the cash register and again, nobody would help us! We left the cash and the check sitting next to the register and walked out.

Oh man! It was good this time!!! I would leave more stars if I could. Service was great for as crowded as it was. Waitpersons were very very pleasant. Food and coffee… OUTSTANDING!

Bummer! I had high hopes but was totally let down. I brought a client to breakfast and neither of us could hardly start, let alone finish our food. How tough is it to make oatmeal? Seriously? We would have complained but our server basically ignored us and because it was a business breakfast, we chose to minimize the poor experience and just paid the check (no tip) and went somewhere else for brunch.

This place is so outstandingly good! Great weekend joint, the best chicken fried steak in sonoma county, excellent fresh squeezed orange juice and cheerful and cute waitresses.

My wife and I ate here one morning. Best corned beef hash we’ve ever had. The chicken fried steak was very good. We will have to come back here next time we are in the area. It’s worth the drive.

I like my current breakfast hangout, Marvin’s Restaurant in Cotati. A solid 3 stars.
Marvin’s has a country-​ish, 70’s-ish feel to it which I like on both counts. Second it is in Cotati which is a funky, earthly little town just south of Rohnert Park.
I like their breakfast offerings and sometimes even their lunches. But what makes me come back to Marvin’s is its laid back, open and comfortable environment. They also have Wi-​Fi that I frequently use when I come alone.
They make fresh squeezed Orange Juice and they have three different choices of coffees. A small town near-​diner style restaurant with warmth and nice servers.
A nice option in the Rohnert Park /​Cotati area!
