This place is perfect, very clean, excellent service and the best spinach and feta omelette I ever had! And get the sausage patties, homemade and the size of two hamburgers! Oh, play the poker machines on the way out, I won $ 22.00

I’m sorry but don’t waste your time or money! Ordered potato pancakes benedict lol it was frozen hash browns topped with poached eggs and sauce. When questioned, they insisted they were potato pancakes. Also ordered an omlette, it was falling apart as soon as it was brought and very wet. They used water instead of milk. A total waste and gross.

Had a girlfriend reunion lunch here. Most of the group ordered salads(greek, cobb and fruit). They were excellent. We stayed 3 hours and the waitress and staff were very gracious and accommodating. We have been going here for many years and happy that they have kept up the quality of their dishes. Will return for sure.

I’ve eaten here now a total of 5 times. I’ve had breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I can honestly tell you that I leave every time feeling full and satisfied. The food is authentic, home made food. They always have specials available! The Soup is AMAZING!!! The wait staff are always friendly and attentive. Management is always on top of things, they even make it a point to stop by the table to make sure everything is good and that you are happy. I’ve had their pancakes which are always fluffy, fresh, and tasty. The burgers I’ve had are cooked to order and are always juicy. I’ve had their pie… which, be careful because it is dangerously good :) One thing you HAVE to try is their beef tips and noodles in a marinara sauce(it’s one of their specials). I didn’t think that I would like it as much… but, the waitress insisted that I should try it and I am glad I did. I have to believe that the pasta was made in house. It was fresh and tender and complimented the beef tips wonderfully. The portion was so big I was able to take some home for lunch the next day. Bonus! You feel like you are at home eating with family when you come here. I will continue to come when I am in the area as it is hard to come by restaurants that actually care about their food, service, and atmosphere. I give 5 stars!

The new French Toast is fantastic! Made with a Brioche bread. Warm real maple syrup served in pewter mini pitcher. A must try! Service is great! I have been coming here forever and the soups are all made from scratch. You either love this place or you like it. Value is a matter of opinion. But if you order eggs you always get double. I am always full even when I order the salad. Which by the way are the freshest I have had. The lettuce is prepared daily and kept in a special climate controlled frig. I only know because I had to ask. This place is a gem.

Whenever I visit my grandmother, we come eat at JC George’s because she loves it and it’s easy to get to. It’s a typical diner style restaurant with a gigantic menu that has something for everyone. Eggs, omelets, french toast, crepes, salads, sandwiches… and more! And sometimes they make amazing bloody marys(and sometimes they’re just so-so).

This mecca of ACTUAL home cooking, is worth the drive from Chicago! I was not planning to eat here, however, once I arrived, I was talked into the Pumpkin French toast AND pancakes(pic attached). It came with a homemade maple glaze as well as a homemade syrup on the side. Holy. Cannoli’s. It was ridiculous. It’s in my nature to a lot of questions(my friends gave me a 7 question quota… I talked them up from 5). I got to chatting with the owner, he informed me, he imports real cane sugar — to use in recipes that call for sugar; he uses only real albacore tuna; and sends back anything inadequate to their suppliers, if it doesn’t meet his standards. In addition, he only uses the highest quality brands in the kitchen. John(the owner) said something as I was leaving, that I loved«Not all restaurants are for everybody, all I can do is hope you’ll be a part of mine». This is the real deal. Thanks, John!

Your typical Greek diner food. Nothing mindblowing, but a good lunch and quick service. Also, very clean and comfy atmosphere. Priced a little high.

Horrible customer service. We were there 20 minutes ago, drinks served having a good time, after 10days out of the country, this is my first encounter back home, we start to ordered and my wife cannot eat certain things, they would not substitute ingredients from their menu, the waiter said«if we do we would lose our jobs» for real? Who threatens to fire their employees due to good customer service?, we were like«watch when they notice that we’re leaving they are going to try to pleases us then, but we’ll leave anyway because the situation already got awkward» but guess what even the manager didn’t try to do anything to keep us there. Charged for the drinks we didn’t even start to drink. Horrible; will never compromise good customer service for«good food» when I could get both somewhere else. PD I’m not implying their food is good in anyway since we didn’t even get to try it.

This is our third or fourth time at this place — and our last. The first element of discontent is the price has risen beyond the value of the food. The second element of discontent is the rapid decline of the service. Saying«thank you» and«please» means absolutely nothing if you can’t refill a soft drink or grab a napkin. When we sat down — we were very clear that we weren’t ready and wouldn’t be for a while. Please bring us our drinks and give us a few minutes. Somehow this translated into stand three feet way from us with your pad and pen out — hovering and waiting. So we ordered. The soup and salad came pretty quick. The soup was good — not great — good. The entrees arrived. Good — not great — good. We began to eat and at one point my ice tea ran out and my girl’s coffee ran out. I nodded to our waitress. I signaled to our waitress. She wasn’t busy — she was standing against the wall. There were more waitresses in the place than customers. she stood against the wall while I tried to get drinks. Then she walked over to the manager and they began to shoot the breeze. She had her back to us — so I began to gesticulate with my big old meat-hook of an arm. After almost five minutes the manager saw me and sent her over. She eventually refilled my glass — and got my girl some fresh coffee. She kept saying«please» and«thank you» as if that were a relevant phrase. She was mistaken. Prices up. Food down. This guy out.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for several years. The experience is usually pleasant. I was there earlier today and our waitress was RUDERUDERUDE! She didn’t greet us when she came to the table, let alone give her name, she took our drink order and walked away without a word, and forgot our food. When we questioned her about our food we didn’t hear I’m sorry, but she did blamed it on the man that brought out our food to is. She then came back with our check and didn’t say anything, she just put it on our table and walked away. Perhaps she was having a bad day, but that doesn’t give her a right to be out right rude to people. I’m not returning to this establishment. I’m taking my business else where.

Nothing spectacular! Ordered a veggie egg white omelette. It was huge! Men service… if I didn’t look for her, she didn’t look for me. Wouldn’t go out of my way to come back. I was just killing some time while my car was in for repair.

This is an example restaurant with the owner hurts the effort. The food here is good — the service is good — it’s a solid breakfast restaurant. However the owner is beginning to show signs that he is trying to make extra money by cheapening the product. The bacon is uses is pedestrian at best. He also refuses to provide normal jellies for the toast and breads. To save a couple bucks he serves homemade orange marmalade and substitutes it standard jelly. That would be okay if I work 70 years old — it’s hand-to-hand combat to get grape jelly and it takes an act of Congress to get strawberry jelly.

I ordered the Olé Omelette and while it wasn’t bad, it wasn’t anything memorable about it. Good service, it was fresh, clean, price wise maybe she few dollars over what I expect to pay in the area, but nothing ridiculously high either. Come back? Maybe.

Wow, that was bad service. The manager on duty was very cold and unhelpful. Our server was horrible. The food, once we got everything correct and got it warmed up was actually not bad but the service was so horrendous I wouldn’t ever give this place another dime.

Eh. Mediocre. Been there twice had the same server. Took forever to greet us. We never received the bread we were supposed to get. For some reason this restaurant does not know how to separate checks, and gives us a hard time every time we ask.

Not bad, although plenty of Unilocal reviews here will argue that. My first time experience was made fabulous from my friendly server Chris. She greeted me with a glass of water in hand as I ordered a cup of coffee. Let me tell ya, she was quick on the refills and I love that. I ordered a Turkey Club sandwich served with crispy seasoned fries and a bowl of homemade soup. I’ve been to many pancake houses and my sandwich was definitely a generous portion. I brought home leftovers. Perhaps my server has been with JC’s for awhile since many customers new her and she actually knew their lunch order. Homemade soup tasted fresh and the dining booth was comfortable. Although Countryside is not in my neck of the woods, I would stop in again if I am traveling in the area.

Solid breakfast place, always open seating, great coffee, service is great, meal is at your table almost the second after you order. Skillets and omelets are fresh and tasty.

I remember I use to come here as a kid and now things have changed so much. And I don’t mean that in the best way. I was surprised seriously at the lack of seating the patrons as soon as they come in. My mom and I stood standing by the sign that said«wait to be seated» for exactly 11 minutes, and mind you there were no other patrons waiting. Oh yes, there were people sitting and enjoying what looked to be sufficient dining vittles but really, to be standing for precisely 11 minutes in any establishment is a no no and a sign of «GETOUT». I finally asked the lady at the counter who was really busy in conversation with one of the waitresses who mind you, did look my way a few times. But I will let that go, I asked if I should just sit down on our own but she said, no i’ll sit you. Kind of strange I might add. The sit down process was fine but then the next 10 minutes of no water or menu really made me cringe and almost made me leave. But again, I was hungry and wanted to be fair(hmmm). The meat loaf I ordered was not at all what I thought, the mashed potatoes were wet and the veggies extremely frozen and wilted. Not a good start and not a good ending so I will leave it at that. I will never return here and the mistake was that after step one I gave it a shot. If you can’ t show your patrons good service then the food will obviously fail miserably. I even went so far as to ask for Manager and he came out and didn’t seem to care at my concerns. That was not a good idea in the least since of course, my reviews are honest and so on point. So here it is, don’t bother if you want lousy service and semi mediocre food. At least that what my party thought. MYMAMA!
