I came and checked this place out with a buddy of mine. They have a host of great signature pizzas and sandwiches that really taste good! I’m talking real ingredients that are fresh! Great tasting sauce and dough! And excellent drinks that can also serve as desserts! Try the Habanero Fire Pie! Has a nice kick!

Chalkboard pizza has closed its doors! :( unfortunately, despite the amazing food and reasonable prices it wasn’t able to achieve enough traffic or word-of-mouth. west covina has lost a great spot to grab a boba drink or a cheap pie/appetizers. write a review if you loved their food and want to see them making food again somewhere!

Been here twice, both time they had one person working the front, making the food. Way too slow. Food is just okay.

Had a philly. It was average. Very cheap bread. If that makes sense. The meat and provolone were tasty. They really really need to clean. Tables, floor and counters were filthy. It’s not like they are too busy. I might give it one more chance for pizza. But I’ll get it to go…

Pizza was solid. The sausage pizza was good. BBQ Chicken was good too but prefer the sausage. The fried chicken were large! Liked it. Fries were okay as well. The food is pretty good food if you have a coupon. Without a coupon/groupon the pizza here seems pretty expensive. Customer service was excellent(even though had to tell her to bring us water several times cause she forgot). It’s too bad when I went with my sister and her boyfriend that they only had one person working the cashier as well as the food. What kind of business does that to a person? Docking them 2 stars for poor business etiquette. Bill Tip #1: Got the Groupon for $ 30 and didn’t have any trouble using it. Seems like people had trouble when they didn’t present Groupon so their expectations changed. I presented it up front, the cashier let me know the prices, and that was that. No problems. Bill Tip #2: Very limited seating so your best bet is to bring it home.

I call shenanagans!!! I bought a groupon for $ 15 which gave me $ 30 to spend there. I called and placed an order and it came out to $ 31.01. I called back 5 min later and told them I had a groupon. They then proceeded to tell me that my order was $ 15 more because I had the groupon. I was told I do not get special prices because of my groupon… nice. I had a menu so I knew what the prices were, nothing on the menu or their chalkboard said nothing of special prices. The order was accurately totaled from the regular price menu. UNBELIEVABLE!!!

This place has been opened for a while now, pass by it everyday and always wonder if it’s good or not. My kids finally talked me into eating here, we had a(3) topping large pizza, a Philly cheese steak sub, a meatball sub, and a pastrami sub. Thought it was ALL delicious, we will definitely be back! Pizza was just made and the subs were fresh also. Next time I will try the fried mushrooms, other reviews make them sound good. Customer service was good also, I was greeted as I walked in. TOTALLYRECOMMENDIT=)

NOAC in this place. It was like 95 degrees outside yesterday, and it was actually HOTTER in here. What a nightmare. When it’s that hot. you pay money to go out and relax in a cool environment, not roast and sweat. I asked if we could move a table outside… which would have been clearly in their view. And they wouldn’t let us. Ridiculous. We opted to sit outside on the curb across from the building. and man our asses cooked the entire time. It was awful. But at least there was a slight breeze outside. Note to self: Avoid this place during the summer.

The only thing that lured me into this place was the possibility of boba that is walking distance from my house. I thought it was going to be a strictly boba place but it said subs, so, it was odd seeing those two together. I ordered thai tea and needless to say it was gross. The boba was fine, typical quality for an up-and-running joint but the tea was just nasty… it tasted like sour milk, and I was scared that if I kept drinking it, I would get some sort of stomach problem later on so I dumped it after two sips. Waste of money, :( I was initially going to rate this 2 stars BUT a half the redeeming factor is the philly cheese steak sub. My gawd it was amazing. I don’t know what makes it good, it just is. And the other half was the fact that you can write on the walls with chalk(hence the name chalkboard ahem ahem). I don’t know, it’s just something about writing on walls that ups the quality of this place. Didn’t try anything else, because that dang philly is so gooooood. I’m not sure if I would try their boba, however. Learned that if I wanted boba, I’d have to go out of my way to be satisfied. All in all this place isn’t that bad. Surprised that it hasn’t gone down the drain yet, though

Pizza is OK, but a little thin By the time we got it home is was on the cool side, So their boxes don’t really hold the heat. They were all excited when I ordered BBQ chicken and pineapple. They never heard of that and wanted to add it to their menu When I came back, the same person seemed disinterested in my pizza order I don’t care… But it was good… not great… but good. So while the place may be a little unusual, I may come back… maybe…

This place is strange but good. There’s a lot of random things especially the boba. I tried the cheese steak, chicken bacon sandwich, cheese garlic bread, pizza fries, and fried mushrooms. I liked everything but the pizza fries, it was weird and it made me want to gag. Next time I’ll try their boba! Check it out! Don’t do the pizza fries! Oh and Tony the main guy here is cool he knows how to treat his customers!

Chalkboard Pizza & Subs is very easy to miss, located at the end of small strip mall overshadowed by 7 – 11’s bright lights and behind 76 Gas and Ocean 7 Asian Cuisine. But don’t let the funky location fool you into passing on good eats. It’s an overwhelming place if you’ve never been here before, with all the random food items, pizza toppings, and boba drinks(?). After staring at the chalkboards for a bit, we got around to ordering: 1st Round– Large Philly Cheese Steak w/American and all veggies $ 7.99 Fried Mushrooms $ 2.99 Cheese Bread $ 2.49 side of ranch 3 ice waters At first glance, the cheese steak seemed weak, the meat lacked in brownish hue and aroma, but don’t let that fool you either! We unwrapped the sandwich and everything just kicks you in the face, the veggies were bright and fresh and the meat and cheese nicely complimented each other with a creamy, yumminess of a cheese steak. The flavor was there, but we thought it was a bit salty and it needed hot sauce. Fried mushrooms were KILLER, very crunchy, not greasy or soggy. Cheese bread was light and tasty, it’s basically garlic cheese bread. However, the ranch was a bit on the watery side. 2nd Round– Large Bacon Chicken Ranch Sub $ 7.99 Fried Mushrooms again $ 2.99 Pizza Fries $ 2.99 side of ranch refilled water(after 1st refill, all refills are 50 cents) It was only natural that we order more fried mushrooms, they’re pretty fantastic! The bacon chicken ranch sub was delicious too, 2 hefty breaded chicken breasts topped with bacon and fresh veggies. We did think the sub needed something spicy or more bacon though. The sub came super hot, when we unwrapped it we could still see the steam, it was that hot. I think the ultimate fail was the Pizza Fries, it was weird. It’s fries topped with pizza sauce, pepperoni, and mozzarella cheese. The cheese wasn’t melted and the pepperoni was absolutely weak. Tony, the awesome food maker and delivery driver, was really nice about it and was concerned that other food items weren’t as good. But we assured him, it was the Pizza Fries. He was open to suggestion and we told him it could use a bit of time in the oven with garlic and more cheese and hopefully the pizza fries will be better next time. Oh, and to wipe down the tables more often. Despite that one failed item, it’s a place I’ll definitely add to my go-to list for good eats. Check it out and happy eatings!

Absolutely delicious! The pizza is phenomenal, as are the sub sandwiches. Pretty much everything I’ve tried here has been amazing. I also love the chalkboard walls, they should keep cleaning them daily though, I was there last week and the same exact writing was there from a week ago. Including a drawing of a penis wearing sunglasses.(Come on, staff, can you at least look at the walls? Some stuff is just completely inappropriate). Be sure to try out their slushies(perfect for a hot day… my favorite is grape!) all their boba drinks are fantastic too. The staff is very sweet and friendly with all their customers. You can also pick up free wi-fi from the laundromat next door. The bacon stuffed crust is also a dream come true, especially with a thick crust! :9 A+, this is my spot!

This is a review of the pizza only… We would have never found this place on our own except for a promotional mailer. Even after stopping by to give it a try, we thought the pizza was pretty underwhelming and nothing very special. Our only experience was a couple of «leftover» slices in the warmer that were offered to us as promotional freebies… In fairness, they do make their regular pizzas fresh… They have a limited amount of seating, but you generally have to bus your own stuff; consequently, the tables may or may not be wiped down… I know that they have a $ 5 lunch special and a $ 6.50 one topping large pizza pickup special, but sometimes even cheapness isn’t enough to entice me to come back. When I think of pizza locally I think of Spagetti Eddies or Capri Deli, even though I know that they’re much more; at least I know that I’m happy with their pizzas…

Still my go to pizza place! Mainly because of their $ 6.50 pick up special. It really gives someone on a budget delicious pizza(way better than Little Caesars or La Pizza Loca). Thanks to them we were able to feed a party of 50 for less than $ 40.

I ended up finding this place through an advertisement/coupons in the Covina Quarterly magazine. Good thing they did that otherwise I never would have known they existed among the hundreds of pizza/Italian eateries in the area, and also because it’s tucked away in a tiny strip mall behind a fast food Mexican place. The place is tiny with a lot of wall space covered in chalkboards so you can doodle to your heart’s content. And doodle people have done. There were some decent pieces up along the usual scratch of «so and so was here.» I ordered the milk tea boba and a habanero fire pie. The boba was okay, tons of tapioca. The habanero fire pie wasn’t too spicy, however, if you were to eat slice after slice the heat would build up. The habanero fire pie has habanero tomato sauce, cheese, chicken, basil, and sun-dried tomatoes. They’re definitely not skimpy on the amount of ingredients. The pizza itself was really good though I think I would have preferred if the sun dried tomatoes were put on after baking because they were black and the texture was a bit different. Definitely will be coming back here.

This review concerns only the Boba. The boba here is particularly unique due it’s texture, flavor, and size – it’s almost like eating a bag of Nestle Raisinettes. Note: The AC here is really off. It was 20 degrees cooler outside. The wind which blows down(to keep the cold air inside) whenever you open the door – is hot air…

This is a pretty good place to take the kids to. The walls have chalk board paint and they have chalk on the counter for anyone to draw or write what ever they want. Saw some kids come in with their mom and they went straight for the chalk! The food is pretty good. I had the Italian hoagie and the buffalo wing pizza. The hoagie was packed with meat. At first I thought it wasn’t going to fill me because the bread looks pretty small. Towards the end of the sandwich my worries went away and my tummy was satisfied. The buffalo wing pizza was pretty good. It had a different taste to it that I haven’t tasted in any other pizza before. I would describe the taste as if eating real buffalo wings. Their food is pretty creative just as their restaurant is too. To drink, I had a Taro with boba and man that thing was good. It was like drinking candy. The boba tasted like caramel. I’ve never had boba that good before. The service was good and it didn’t take long to have our food done. I will most definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu.
