Horrible SERVICE! We came here thinking we would help out the«little guys» and try something different than the adjacent Waba Grill we normally go to but we will not be returning due to a terrible first experience. The pizza girl server asked us what we wanted with serious attitude and even throwing the toppings on the pizza with force. It felt like we were bothering her because she had to stop checking her text messages. The older server seemed okay as she helped another customer but the younger one was just rude. She also had a nose ring to go with the attitude. Food was actually really good! In fact probably better than pieology in our opinion. Unfortunately, we will not be patronizing this location again and will warn our friends and family.

Decided to give this place another shot, and boy do I regret it. Seems super unsanitary and just filthy. I don’t like that the toppings are just exposed. Workers seem to hate their job and are very rude. Pizza was burnt and just a soggy mess. Not returning any time soon.

I just love some fresh, flame-fired, pizza especially when the crust comes out on the crispy side like it does at Pizza Five85! Start with your choice of sauces, cheeses, meats and veggies for the right combination to please any palate. Do you want pineapple? No problem! Extra pepperoni? No problem! Get what you want to make you happy! Don’t forget to put on some basil, oregano, and garlic for added flavors. Wait a few minutes and then, voilà! Taste bud happiness and mouth-watering Za(it’s in the scrabble dictionary, use it liberally). If you’re feeling adventurous, try your Za with ½ pesto and ½ spicy marinara. They offer deals if you want a two-topping Za, but for seven dollars and change, you can have as much or little of the toppings you want! How about some sexy pics:

Good variety on custom made thin crust pizza. I recommend the pesto and marinara combo as a base, with any topping you desire.

Since I’m a big fan of create your own pizzas I wanted to explore other options. This place does not have the dough pressed and ready I guess because they’re not as busy. Toppings selection is smaller and the wait for the pizza seemed longer. The pricing was fair for what you get. I liked that they accept five stars here and they give you a beeper unlike blaze pizza!

This place got it right! They make their pizza right in front of you with so many different types of ingredients from which to choose! The customer service is impeccable, too!

The atmosphere of this place reminds me of Elbows or those other ‘have it your way’ type of restaurants. It’s kind of cheesy looking. The service was super slow, for the prep and cooking of the food. I felt like the workers were still getting their bearings and they were reaching over each other to get toppings and such. It wasn’t a neat assembly line like it is at Blaze which I’m partial to. The three choices of DIY meals makes it tough on the workers too I think. There were quite a few people like myself waiting a while for our pizzas. What I did like was when, whom I believe to be the owner, called out this lady’s number and she had told the cashier that it was Togo but they were presented as if it was dine in. So he boxed her pizzas and gave her a voucher for a free one next time. I thought that was nice. BUT! This other lady had the same thing happen to her with additional waiting time and the guy was already gone and the remaining workers did not do anything to compensate her. I’m not saying they should’ve but the lady saw the awesome customer service the prior lady received and saw that she was not treated the same. That really sucked. I was starving and finished the entire pizza but it doesn’t necessarily mean it was delicious or my favorite. The dough is whatever and it was too crispy and it’s just not my taste. There’s a rewards program but I didn’t sign up for it. Two stars because I got a pepperoni pizza for $ 3.99, which I guess is their special but I don’t know if I’d be back.

I give this place a one star because this experience was a terrible one and I never plan on returning. The place itself is newer so the place is nice and welcoming. People mentioned to me it would be similar to a Pieology but with a little less toppings to choose from, and that it was. First off the crew working here needs to work on their attitudes. They all look miserable being there. Highly suggest some type of uniform because wearing their own clothes is a little inappropriate when there’s guys in baggy clothes and girls in tight shirts they have to adjust every five seconds while making my pizza. The girls definitely need to have their hair up in a complete bun while handling my food. Girl making my pasta, just because you have gloves on doesn’t mean you can play with your hair. Totally defeats the purpose of gloves, and disgusting. There was about two workers when I walked in then magically about 6 ended up being in the front doing everything but helping customers. My biggest reason why I’ll never be back is you’re at your job not at home so you can’t be checking your phone every few minutes, there’s customers waiting to be helped but instead your phone is more important. You’re not being paid to be on your phone.

No one greeted us when we walked in. Two employees just stood there talking to each other at the register, and completely ignored us as we just stood there waiting for someone to help us in this completely empty establishment. The guy who made our pizza overloaded it with way too much sauce, and not nearly enough cheese. We had to ask for extra Parmesan cheese for the lack of cheese that was put on the pizza. The edges were burnt, not to mention it took forever to come out! As for the dining experience, it was an extremely awkward one. Empty place, no music, dirty tables. There were empty pizza boxes sitting on top of open seating for customers. I couldn’t wait for my BF to finish his pizza so we could get the hell outta there! If you want good, quality build-your-own pizza, try Pizza Studio or Pieology.

Came here for the first time for a fundraiser but waited very long time(we were the only ones there at the time) and it turns out the pizza got burnt and they still gave it to us! The person apparently forgot about our pizzas and had left or something. I had heard so many good things about this place but after today it really left me disappointed… I hope not all pizzafive85s are like this. Willing to give another chance… still bummed out about the pizza I was looking forward to which is burnt…

Horrible customer service. They don’t wash there hands after they help some one at the register and they don’t use gloves to make your pizza. I don’t know what happen to this place but I’m not going back.

This place is amazing! It’s just like a Subway sandwich kinda place but the pizza version! And prices are very affordable… about $ 5.50 for build your own pasta with two toppings and $ 7.50 for build your own pizza with unlimited toppings about the size of a small at pizza hut. I definitely recommend this place!

Service: 3⁄10 Not so friendly staff. Probably tired. Cashier didn’t really interact with us. Pizza took a little long to come out. Pizza: 2⁄10 It was okay. I’ve had better pizza(I recommend blaze pizza in Pasadena). The worker put way too much cheese and she put the cheese, along with the toppings, in the center of the pizza and not spread out. Which was weird for me, personally. The marinara sauce tasted kind of odd. Most likely will not come back.

JR understands good service and what is expected by the customers. I used to work in the food/restaurant industry and I always treated customers how I would like to be treated so I tend to have high expectations. JR excelled and I would definitely return! In fact, my previous experience with this place was always good! People should visit this place more. The pizza was delicious too!!!

They are less than five minutes away from the nearby Holiday Inn where we stayed in October. So it was me and the two boys. So when a dad asks his boys what they want for dinner you know what the answer will be ~ PIZZA! I searched on my iPhone and found this place was close by and decided to give them a try. They don’t deliver but due to the close distance no problem. I called and found out they only make personal sized pizzas which was perfect as my kids split a pepperoni and I had the vegetarian. She said that they would be ready in 10 minutes. We drove there and found that it was busy but as promised our pizzas were ready and waiting for us. We only had to wait in line for less than three minutes. BTW you can also eat there as they have simple high tables and chairs scattered about. The place was clean and well lit with a happy staff. Both pizzas were devoured as they were delicious. Not sure about the quality of the pepperoni as that was eaten by my kids but the vegetarian was covered with fresh vegetables. I like it when the vegetables are not over cooked into the pizza. Instead they were fresh, with a little crunch laying all over the top. The price was very reasonable and I would go back when in the area.

I don’t get it. There are so many fantastic create your own pizza chains and Five 85 is really the only one that is constantly lacking. I have been to several of their locations and what is consistent is slow, mediocre service and poor quality ingredients baked with no care whatsoever. Sure, they have super cheap prices and offer to create not only your own salad and pizza, but pasta as well, problem is, none of them are executed well. Came in the other day and had a salad, my husband a pizza, my son a bowl of pasta and none were really great. Also it took over half an hour to get and there was barely anyone here?!! Not worth coming back to.

We have loved going to this place. Fast Super hot pizza the way you like it. until tonight. Done. NEVER again. 3 pizzas and garlic bread came to us burnt and Cold. When questioning the black edges we were asked if we wanted them to be placed back in the oven. You know cause they had been sitting for Who knows how long. 20 min from oven to me walking and seeing them just sitting. We had been told there was a 5 minute bake time. l tried a piece of garlic bread and it was rock hard. I could only eat 3 bites of my slice due to the hard crust from being burnt. I took the bread and one pizza up to the front to complain. I was again asked if 1 wanted it put back into the oven. I wanted them remade, but there was 8 to 10 people in line. l was told to go stand in line to have them remade. I already stood in line, waited and was expected to stand in a longer line for their mistake ? My husband got involved because I had to keep my place in the growing line. This was a nightmare, No one offered to make my order over. No one cared about the quality of pizza coming out. Had the pizza come out on time and given to us hot, none of this would have happened. They cant do refunds. No manager on site. No customer service. We used to visit frequently but no more. I will never go back here.

I love this trend for the BYO pizza places! What’s not to love about having the option to pick the toppings that you want on your custom pie? Wood fired, thin crust, go combo, veggie, or carnivore… just don’t forget the garlic!

I always pass this place and finally tried it a few days ago. Similar to Pieology, but with pasta and salads creations. Unlike Pieology though, this place doesn’t have recommended pizza combinations. I went in on a Thursday evening, and the pizza maker was nice and helpful. Took about 10 minutes for my garlic butter-mozzarella-cajun chicken-bacon-feta-red onions-extra garlic pizza(to go). Total was about $ 8. Pizza crust is on the thin side and it was a little crispy than I would like, but still delicious! I had no self-control and ate the whole thing. Had to fight for parking on this day, especially with lots of food places in the area. I’ll be back.
