The food here is okay. Relative to its price, the quality is correct. I’ve been here many times with my mom. We sometimes get a coupon to get a small discount, which makes it as if the drink was free. We usually go at noon, which often is when the manager is here – sometimes he goes around handing out desserts. The workers here are pretty nice. Nice environment with a scenic mountain view outside. 5 stars for the workers. 3 stars for the food.

Darryl was the best manager ever tonight!!! He just got my daughter a cotton candy after they closed it down. She ate all the food off her plate to have some and when she finished she was soooo happy only to find they ran out and weren’t making anymore. She came back crying, but I had her talk to the manager and he totally made our night! #itsthesmallstuff #everydayheroes

I dont agree with the bad reviews, the managers are amazing, the staff polite. The food is good, sometimes great. Its a family buffet people and a chain one at that, its low cost for a reason, you want higher qualities than pay higher prices.

Terrible! We get it for $ 6.08 total but not worth10 cents. They said my review too short to post but that says it all.

Every Monday and Tuesday, they offer tasty, broiled steaks; tender, juicy, and seasoned well. You have to get there before 3:00 pm to still pay the lunch price. More worth it that way. During the day, seniors populate this eatery. They honor veterans on Military Mondays. Good place for group parties. Food spread is average— the usual mashed potatoes, gravy, roasted chicken, corn breads, make your own taco, fried chicken, steamed broccoli, salad bar, dessert bar includes yogurt, Cinnabon rolls, bread pudding. Kids get discounted meal on Thursday nights.

Always coming here with my boyfriend for their breakfast or lunch during the weekend whenever we have the chance. Food such as waffles and pancakes can be decent and sometimes fresh. Today I came in with my boyfriend. We barely made it for breakfast and then they change to the lunch menu which is fine. What I’m unhappy and not satisfy about was the fact that this employee was windexing the glass outside the middle section where they cook the omlete for you for breakfast. I guess it’s okay when he was windexing outside but when it was being windex inside. Come on, spray bottles? He spray it behind the lady who was cooking /cutting the meat for the customers at that time and you know spray bottles, liquid flies all around. The fact that she was cooking while he was spraying the liquid inside the glass behind her is just disgusting. Please do not do that. Use water to clean the glass. It was still during open hours when this happens. Use windex when you guys close that section out or when you guys closed. Care about your customers health. I get that you’re tryna clean but windex liquid flies into the pans that’s using to cook for you or omelets that will go into your tummy. No thank you. I also have a picture along with this. And no Grilled Cheese on a Sunday? Wow. Failed.

This home buffet is the best! And Mondays lunch is only $ 5.99 for service members, vets, reserve military and family! We love this one! Been to others but it seems in Covina the food is better!

Cold and really dry pot roast… always seems like the serving dishes are just about empty and what foods left in it is cold…

I ate at this HomeTown Buffet in Covina, CA on 11/20/2015. It was my 1st time there. There were four of us and we were all pleased with or food. An adult dinner cost me $ 12.19 and I added a beverage for $ 2.49. Even with tax my bill was just $ 16.00. The staff(Kim, Marshall & Keana) was very helpful. Plus I took photos.

Came for a late lunch /early dinner, my pregnant wife found ladies room to be DISGUSTING, she preferred to hold it that to use their bathroom. I asked for the manager, I stated ml our concern, he apologized and said he’d take care of it. Half hour later … womens bathrooms is in the same condition. Thanks a lot buddy … in my opinion bathrooms say a lot about an establishment, this will be our last time here.

I just want to say this place is disgusting !! Everywhere is dirty, food court is dirty, ice cream court is dirty, the tables and the restrooms are both dirty !! And the most disgusting thing was that my mother in law grabbed a fork and it still had left over food ! They don’t even wash the things right how is that sanitary !?? Wash your things right unless you want customers to get sick and make a lawsuit on this place I don’t recommend this place unless you want to go to a dirty restaurant.

Iv been their twice the first time I liked it very friendly the second time I went when they were about to close right when we were walking out they were so sweet bring balloons to my son apologizing, I saw how bad they felt. And that kind of kindness from almost the whole staff that was near us, it was just so beautiful. I will definitely go their again and recommend it to my family and friends, you bearly see that act of kindness especially at food restaurants.

Walked in today and found out they no longer offer their local business discount. Guess they also no longer have myself and my employees as customers.

Well.. Where to start? First there dinner selection is going down the drain, they advertise ribs are back but fail to mention only a few days of the week. No steak, shrimp, or Cinnabons. I was told only Saturday and Sunday mornings. This has been the 2nd attempt coming here and being disappointed. I give this establishment a grade of D —

Finally had a chance to try this place the other day for lunch. I had a coupon because I’m cheap but of course having the coupon is the reason I went here in the first place. The cashier was very friendly and asked me if it was my first time at a HomeTown Buffet which it was. When I answered yes she paged a manager to come to the front to give me a tour of the buffet. That was interesting because to me a buffet is pretty self explanatory, but that was a nice gesture to show first time guests the layout. So the regular price is 8.69 for lunch and then a beverage on top of that is 2.49. I opted for water and using my coupon so mine came to 6.53. The food was alright but nothing special. The salad items seemed fresh and they had some fresh fruit. They had a taco bar, and country fried steak and chicken pot pies and fried chicken. I did like the sausage with onions and peppers, that was pretty tasty. For lunch I guess they don’t have anything fancy. The carving station was not open. They had starchy staples that most buffets have like mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, gravy, and there were quite a few breads and cornbread and what looked like some sort of stuffing. There were quite a few kids running around in here and I don’ really care to see kids running around touching the food. That’s one thing that just is not healthy for anyone. There were plenty of beverages at the beverage center. They had an ice cream machine with toppings galore and a Cinnabon station for desserts. The manager said they also offer the Cinnabon stuff to go if you want to purchase that separately. Service was great. Tazi(my server I think that’s the name she wrote on the receipt) kept clearing plates and asking how everything was. The restaurant seemed pretty clean. Some of the dishes were mislabeled or the label was misplaced for some of them. They should keep more current on the labeling. Just an okay experience tho because the food isn’t really anything to rave about.

Surprisingly food was pretty good. Service was decent. The manager came to talk to us. That was nice. I had a total of 2 plates and soup. First round was ceaser salad, 2 grilled Chickens, green beans and it was pretty good. Decided to do a lil bit more. I’m trying to keep away from breading, deep fried, and pastas. But I figure it won’t hurt. This time I had mashed potatoes, Mac n cheese, ceaser salad, and honey glazed corn. Everything was delicious! The soup was just as good I will come back. Pleasant food.

Compared to the other 2 – 3 HomeTown Buffets I have been to, this one is surprisingly cleaner than the rest. The staff was nice and friendly, but I can’t say much about the food. I remember loving HomeTown when I was a kid. In fact, it was HomeTown that first made me fall in love with rice crispies. A friend wanted to go to HomeTown since it’s been well over a decade since she last went, so I tagged along and this one was the closest one to us. The selection of food sucks, not that it has changed over the years. There’s not a lot of variety. I found myself getting the same plate of food every time, stuffing myself with broccoli, chicken and cheese enchiladas. If you know of Golden Corral, then it’s a better choice. The wait is longer, but at least their selection of food is nearly twice as much as HomeTown. I mean… they have a cotton candy machine and a grill that makes steaks. I’d assume HomeTown would’ve caught up to them by now, but I guess not. There’s always those Chinese/Asian buffets at comparable prices and they serve a variety of seafood too. HomeTown’s only seafood selection was fried fish sticks, not even a piece of shrimp. Really disappointed.
