Always good food every time. The humus and tabouli is the best. Even had that as a meal once. Will go back again.

The Fried Cheese makes this place worth the visit. It’s made with haloom cheese. It’s very flavorful. The Mediterranean Hummus was lacking flavor. I had the Combination Chicken Shwarma and Gyro plate. Sadly the chicken was dry and the Gyro meat was just average. My partner had the Lamb Shank plate, which she enjoyed. She said the meat was juicy and well seasoned. The service was good. We’ll be back again and will definitely get the Fried Cheese again.

I am a huge fan of Mediterranean food and I must say this is the best I have tried. Everything is very freshly made with decent sized portions. They always have great service & are speedy. I like how they feature specials if you want to try something different. The atmosphere is very nice & relaxing & classy. I recommend! Will always be one of my favorites

We have been here dozens of times and never had poor service or bad food. The Lebanese tea is delicious. It is the only place I the area that can cook lamb if that is your thing.

I only picked up to-go for a lunch special. The hostess had little direction when trying to instruct me to the bar to put in my order. Though, the service was quick and my order was delivered to me as aI sat outside on cozy porch surrounding the outer perimeter of the restaurant. The guy who delivered my food was nice but didn’t realize I hadn’t paid and tried to send me on my way. My total was about $ 12 for a large portion of combination gyro salad. It was great and the chicken wasn’t dry, which I sometimes expect at restaurants.

The food was fresh and really good(a nice change after a few days of southern-style comfort food). The staff was friendly and attentive.

Favorite Greek on the northshore. Love the food. The Greek staff has been nice… twice we had someone not from” the family” wait on us and our dining experience was not pleasant. However, the food is always delicious. So fresh and seasoned so nicely. Have a lunch menu as well. They have never failed us in the food.

To me, albasha has always been great. From Baton Rouge to Covington, I have never been disappointed here. The chicken shawarma is my go-to, and I can’t honestly say I’ve had anything else as an entrée in all the years I’ve been going. The falafel is really good, as well as the baba ghanouj, but the hummus is by far the best. My mother will just have that as her entrée, sometimes. I’m not really sure if there are any other options for Greek fare on the north shore, but if that’s what you’re looking for, or looking for somethings that’s simple, quick and delicious, this is definitely an option.

This place is fantastic! We discovered it on a cross-country trip, and decided to stop in. The food was authentic and delicious, and the portions were very generous. Best of all, the service was outstanding. Our server Taylor provided several suggestions that that were spot-on; she was prompt and friendly; she went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. We will be back! If you go, ask for Taylor. She’ll make cheerfully make sure you have a great dining experience.

Food here is amazing. The chicken in the chicken shawarma is delicious and well-seasoned, not to mention the amazing hummus. Service is not lightening fast, but is well worth the wait! Took friends here from out of town the other day and they were blown away. Yum yum!

I am not of fan of this cuisine. However I have never had a bad meal here. I am taken to lunch by many business friends and one guy always takes me here. The service is usually good. The ambiance is good. My lunch friend always explains to me what we are eating and I am slowly learning about Mediterranean dishes. I will be glad to return

Easy parking, decent décor and really wonderful food. Some of the staff can be a bit gruff, but not rude. I have yet to eat something here that I didn’t absolutely love. Extra tip – order the hummus appetizer«to go» when you leave and mix a couple of generous spoonfuls into the meat the next time you make hamburgers. SO much yummy zazz! Best burgers EVER.

So glad this is closer to home than having to go to Baton Rouge. A great fast lunch spot. Gyro sandwich was great!

Hands down — the BEST Greek/Mediterranean restaurant in town! Chicken Schwarma(however you spell it) salad is amazing — I get it every time I go — which is quite frequently — and it’s always good!

Yum. This place rocks. The eggplant mussaka is TODIEFOR!!! I got the veg plate for $ 12.50 and it lasted for 2 meals. I will stop here every time I am town. Plate: tabboule, falafel, hummus, baba ghanouj, eggplant mussaka, salad(no cheese) and whole wheat pita… and hot sauce.

This place is really on my list of food fetishes that I gotta get out of my system at least once every few months. I come and get the meal for two. It comes with everything and more you could ever want(for only $ 24). And it could feed way more than two people! I always make a habit of boxing the rest and taking it home so I can eat off of it for another day or two. It’s a great place and despite being byob I really don’t mind because I just stop at Breaux Mart and pick up a bottle of wine to share while I’m there. I love that they play this Middle Eastern music video channel on the televisions there. I think the music is fun and it’s interesting to watch how different the videos are from what comes on our typical media stations. Apparently their music videos are way cooler and prettier than ours :-)

*Sigh* Slidell used to have an amazing Mediterranean/Greek restaurant that was in a really dinky convince store. The chicken schwarma was to die for tender and juicy and the hummus was ‘let me pick my self up off of the floor’ good. Unfortunately, these master chefs of the best Mediterranean food I could get in my area turned out to be criminals and crooks and were put out of business(and I might add, the country.) I’m all for fighting crime but damn! I missed that food. Passing Alabasha in nearby Covington woke up that Mediterranean craving in me again and I pulled in to try it out. First things first. If you’re a woman entering alone, get ready. The guys who work here stare all creepy like at you. Not smiling at you like«hey baby what’s up?» Leering at you like«how in the hell did you get out of the house?» Just a heads up. The portions are HUGE here. I got a Mediterranean hummus appetizer and the chicken schwarma combo plate. The hummus was amazing. Really, really great. The chicken schwarma was tender and juicy although I felt it could have used more spice. All in all, it was really good and enough for at least three meals. Because of that and my craving for hummus, I’ll be back for sure. *narrows eyes at guys working here* I’m not scared of you guys. Especially when it comes to getting my hummus fix.

Consistently good food. Albasha’s is more Lebanese than Greek but very good all the same. I have been eating at Albasha for over 20 years and I have to say they are one of the most consistent restaurants around. They are all located in strip malls and pretty consistent with their casual décor at all of the locations. The N Hwy 190 location is no exception when it comes to the amount and quality of food served.
The shrimp spinach salad and shrimp kabobs are amazing and satisfies the Cajun in me every time. The eggplant mousaka and baba ganoush have always been favorites as well as the Lamb shank which literally melts in your mouth and the chicken and gyros. Cabbage rolls and grape leaves are moist and seasoned with just the right amount of seasoning. Kibbis are always seasoned and love the additional pine nuts. The Albasha platter(we always opt for the chicken and gyro) is the perfect size for two people and offers a varied choice of sides. The mezza for two will feed my family of 4 and we are all very satisfied with our options and substitutions can be made to any of the menu items. They also offer vegetarian platter with lots of veggie options so you can create your own plate. The Lebanese tea is delish and we always drink more than our $ 2 dollars worth.

I’ve been here a couple times now and love the gyros. I was surprised at how fast I got my food right in the middle of lunch. Holly, my server, was very friendly as well. I’ll be back.
