I’ve been to Glory Bound twice now and the first time was okay, not the best but I decided to give it another try. The first time I went I asked for a Gluten Free chicken gyro. I guess the waitresses idea of a gluten free gyro was not giving me a gyro at all and just the ingredients that would go into a normal gyro. I just blew it off and just paid extra for a piece of pita bread to put my ingredients into. When I started to eat the chicken I noticed it had some weird grayish tint to it, but I was hungry and just ate it. I never have felt more sick after I finished the food. The second time I went was for a birthday dinner for a friend. We got there pretty late on a Sunday and expected fast service since no one was there. Instead, we waited at least 15 minutes to get our drinks, waited well over 30 minutes to get our appetizers, waited another 45 to get our dinners, and well over 30 minutes to finally get our change from our checks. The waitress seemed like she didn’t even notice/care that she took a long time. I mean she didn’t seem like sharpest knife in the kitchen if you know what I mean. So during this second visit to Glory Bound I ordered a salad because I didn’t want to get sick like I did last time. Turns out there was chicken in the salad I ordered and caused me to throw up all night. I’m done wasting my money on disgusting greek food and awful service, when I can go across the street to Albasha for fully cooked meat and way better service. They also need to hire more efficient workers and need a new manager because they will go out of business, no doubt.

Very small portions, Love to eat Gyros. .. BUTNOTHERE! Barley warm enough. Could not taste the meat or other ingredients because Filled with mayo and Ketchup sauce. Yuck! Cheese Fries were soggy cold baked potatoes and very small portions. Not worth the money! Could have gone to a Mediterranean restaurant and had a huge plate of delicious food for the high cost here.

This place rocks! I am a health/fitness freak and there are so many ways to find a food combination on this menu that is healthy. My husband and I went here today and got the $ 5 gyros with a side salad. We also got hummus with veggies to dip instead of pita bread. The vegetables are so fresh! The staff here really cares about your order… We had the manager as well as the waiter come by several times asking if our food was ok. Love this place !

We went in on Saturday 01⁄16 for a late lunch about 3:30, we were seated right away and everyone seemed very nice. Our server came to take our drink order and quickly returned with our drinks, I asked 1 question about the Gyro«Are you guys like Albasha where they give you like 4 tiny strips of Gyro for $ 10.00» she laughed and said oh no I have people tell me how we give too much food! I ordered the traditional Gyro waiting for this heaping mound of Gyro goodness, the micro mound of «traditional» Gyro showed up and they pretty much give you one more tiny strip of mushy gyro meat smothered in some moldy tasting over salted sauce, that’s right the gyro was mushy probably undercooked, and the«tzatziki» sauce was a nightmare that stuck with me even after I had dinner! Proper tzatziki sauce should complement the Gyro meat not overpower it, I think most southerners should be offended if this is what they call a southern spin on mediterranean. Now that we’ve talked about the food, let’s talk about the service, started out strong but I think she gave it her all right out of the gate, and ran out of steam. After the food arrived our absentee server was nowhere to be found, maybe she was watching TV with the rest of the staff in the back of the dining room? After mysteriously appearing I asked for another drink because the salty food made me thirsty, she brought the drink back after a few minute journey to refill my glass, maybe a pitstop to watch TV on the way? And that was it, she was GONE! Never to be seen again, after about 10 – 15 minutes of waiting I stopped someone to see what was going on with our bill, and the guy tells me our server had finished her shift and left for the day! He brings us the bill and we are finally free from the salt mines of Covington! I will say I truly hope they get it together, it’s a beautiful restaurant they did a fantastic job designing it, the patio looks amazing, I loved everything about the looks of the place! Please take the southern spin out of some of the food! PLEASE!!! Now you may ask what do I know about Gyro? The best man from our wedding, and one of my closest friends owns 2 of the highest rated Greek restaurants where I’m originally from, They have been mentioned in articles published about top restaurants in America, I’ve eaten more Gyro than any human should be allowed. I’ve enjoyed fresh tzatziki made using Yia Yia’s secret family recipe(not salty or moldy)

We gave Glory Bound a second try. We went for lunch and sat outside. I had the Pepperjack Gyro and fries. The Pepperjack Gyro is described as having«crispy bacon» on it, yet the bacon was not crispy at all. I know people can be particular about how their bacon is cooked, so you may want to tell your server to make sure it’s crispy. But the bottom line about this place is, if you are looking for Mediterranean food, don’t eat here. The Pepperjack Gyro wasn’t very flavorful. It is edible though. But basically, if Burger King served gyros, this is exactly what it would taste like.

It’s not real Mediterranean, but it’s still pretty darn good food. I mean — who wouldn’t want steak and bacon with feta cheese on a pita with a side of cheese and bacon load fries. You’d never find this in Greece, but I’m glad it’s in Covington, Louisiana. And let’s not forget $ 5 «gyros» on Tuesdays.

The sandwiches and fries are not bad, but the special sandwiches don’t do it for me. Other people may really like them, but it seems to me like too many things are being fused into these gyros. Not bad, but I prefer my gyros and shawarma with the usual yogurt and cucumber.

The Tuna was so creamy, and the sauce that went with it was to die for. Make sure you ask for Gary! He is such a character!!!

I enjoy the gyros and usually stick with the lamb but my wife’s loves the steak and shrimp gyro. Great place for a quick quality meal at a low price. Good take out option and once a week is $ 5.00 gyro night. Solid ownership team of good and decent people if that means anything to you. They do care about the employees as well as us customers.

This place has a lot of potential. Really cool concept: Southern style Mediterranean food. Go for the jalapeño falafel, which is a great tease(and a great portion for the price) to prelude a tasty entrée. I ordered the Surf n Turf Gyro, which was very tasty, although I wasn’t too impressed with the philly cheesesteak style«steak», which was expected to be more Mediterranean style gyro meat. The fries were good, but were a little hard. I like that they are«handcut» if they really are actually cut by hand there. That’s a really good touch. My boyfriend ordered seared Tuna, which we had to send back because the tuna was cooked way too much. The cook should have known better. But our waiter was really awesome and cool and got the manager to take it right off of our bill. The manager came out and received the feedback well. They totally redeemed themselves, and I will certainly return!

Super basic, don’t waste your money on it. I got the shrimp dinner and it was those little frozen shrimp you can buy in a bag at the grocery store. Only thing that was good was the hummus and pita bread. Go to Zoe’s kitchen instead

If you’re in Covington then you must have Glory Bound! Amazing management and staff and the food is to die for! Very clean and welcoming as well. We drove to Covington to eat someplace else that turned out to be closed but I’m not sorry about that at all because I’ll be returning here as often as possible.

Finally, something new and completely different! This is Mediterranean with a twist. The assortment of different hummus flavors was surprising and delicious. Gyros were inventive and built with fresh ingredients. Pita was fluffy and light. My pepper jack pesto gyro had the most flavorful meat with melty drippy cheese and coarse basilly hummus all nestled with fresh crisp onion. Yum! Crystal served us in a most pleasant and friendly manner. The music selection was fun, too. We will return soon!

Alabasha seriously blows this place out of the water. But anyways the waiter was very friendly and did all he could for being short staffed due to poor management decisions. The food is barely OK. I have no reason to go back. The waiter did give us a free dessert because of such bad service, but it truly wasn’t even his fault.

Terrible service due to poor management is how I would describe the place. We walked in and were immediately seated. Our waitress greeted us and took our drink order. She then came back and took our food order along with our appetizer. That was the last time we saw her for the next 35 minutes as we waited for our appetizer. The entire restaurant was waiting. I finally had to ask another waitress to find ours and five minutes later, she arrived. I asked about our meal and why it is taking 45 minutes for an appetizer for two people and her response was, «None of my tables have their food yet either.» Ok great so I ask about our food and you tell me no one is getting served? One table waited so long that when their food arrived, they boxes it up and left without eating it. I don’t mind waiting for quality food. This was not even close to quality. I ordered the Gyro plate and the only thing worth eating was the lamb. The rest of the plate was bland or full of salt. My fiancé ordered a chicken Mediterranean plate and it was horrible. The chicken was dry, the sauce was mayonnaise and some mystery sauce, and the entire thing was, once again, very salty. I am not sure how a restaurant can seem to fall apart on a Friday but this one did and not a single person walked up to us at any point apologizing for the wait. Poor service, poor management, and poor food. I had such a terrible experience that I had to write my first review on Unilocal

I was so pleasantly surprised by the service, atmosphere, and most of all, the food. As soon as we walked in, the hostess warmly greeted us and we immediately were seated. I looked around and was impressed by how cool the restaurant looked – it is modern, sleek, and well arranged. Our waitress, Rickell, came by, and we got rocking and rolling. We told her it was our first time and she immediately gave us some recommendations. I wanted a cocktail and was looking at the fusions, so she recommended the pineapple one. Let me tell you, this thing was delicious. Just the right balance of sprite and pineapple vodka. It was pretty, too! Rickell also pointed out some of her favorite appetizers. We decided to go with the hummus trio. We picked spinach pesto, garlic basil, and a wildcard, chipotle lime. The chipotle lime ended up being our favorite, but all three were good and flavorful. The pita that came with it was also warm and a little crispy. Yum! There’s also options to get veggie sticks, instead of pita. Now for the entrees. I went with the surf n turf gyro, and my husband got the pepperjack. We both thoroughly enjoyed our choices. Portions were reasonable and they were not at all stingy with the amount of shrimp and steak on my gyro. Both meats were well cooked and seasoned. I also really enjoyed the mushrooms and cheese in my sandwich. I got regular fries and my husband got loaded ones. Both sides were delicious! They had other options like grilled veggies, rice, or salad, too. Though we were already stuffed, we decided to get dessert. We went the Glorybound Favorite, which is crispy pita chips topped with cinnamon sugar, caramel, and a generous amount of vanilla ice cream. AMAZING! So simple, yet so delish. We were so impressed with the place, food, and Rickell that we will definitely be returning. We want to try more cocktails, apps, gyros, and desserts.

Just went for the soft open and, I must say, this place was great and even exceeded my expectations! As a rule, I generally try to avoid a restaurant for the first few months they are in business because it takes time for the service to get dialed in. This time, however, I had to break my rule because I have been dying to try this place ever since I first heard it would be opening and I am so glad I did. Whoever is running this place definitely seems to know what they are doing because they brought in an army of staff to make sure things ran smoothly, and I’m telling you, they didn’t miss a beat! In addition to good service, the food was amazing! We started off with an order of the Spicy Cajun Hummus and it was hands down the best hummus I’ve ever eaten anywhere. For dinner my wife ordered the Surf & Turf Gyro and I opted for the Pepper Jack Gyro. They were both so good I spent the entire dinner debating which I liked more. Both such awesome twists on an iconic sandwich like the gyro. I cannot wait to go back and try the rest of the menu! Edit: I have been here 3 times now and I’ve tried 6 different gyros; I can’t pick a favorite because they have all been amazing!!! Oh and the cheese rolls really do rock!!!

The food here exceeded my expectations! I usually go for more traditional Greek cuisine, but the hummus was definitely at the top of my list! We had the Cajun, spinach pesto, olive and original. All were very impressive! The appetizers were probably my favorite part, because if you like cheese, the cheese rolls were very tasty. Think along the lines of cream cheese wontons but fluffier and less grease. The pepper jelly dip complemented it well. We had the ahi tuna, that was very good. The sauce that came with it was yummy and the vegetables were perfectly cooked, not too crispy and not too soft. The pepper jack gyro had some positive feedback from my daughter who loved the thick cut fries that came with it. If I had to choose one complaint, the drinks are not very strong, but this is to be expected at a family oriented place, and they were at a very good price. Our server Sean did a great job by being personable and joking around, and it has really good upbeat music. We will be returning and have already spread the word about our favs at Glory Bound.
