Applebee’s

Pit stop on our road trip, server was very nice, food was as you can expect just alright. Ordered the shrimp scampi and it was a decent meal.

Nobody welcomed me I sat down at bar for lunch on Sunday bartender just stared at me so I said how’s it going she then asked what I was having didn’t ask how it was once it was brought out wings tasted like they were frozen then fried terrible needless to say never here again.

Surprised at our visit at a chain restaurant like this! The service was good; our waitress was friendly and helpful. The food was decent; nothing special but it was satisfying. The two for $ 20 is a good deal!

Terrible service, marginal food. The waitress screwed my order up, then basically called me a liar when I mentioned it. Then told me that I could get my actual order, but would have to pay for both orders. The manager wandered by, and was only a tiny bit more interested than his lame waitress. He did take $ 5 off the $ 30 order. Big deal. She sure as hell didn’t get it back as a tip.

It’s Applebee’s nothing spectacular. They’ve gotten our orders wrong 3 times in a row so far. I got a Long Island ice tea tonight. Politely mentioned that it wasn’t very strong. DONT DO THIS… The bartender pooped his pampers and tried making one obnoxiously strong and was adamant on me trying it in front of him saying my wife was going to have to carry me out. Well I made it out just fine apart from the stomach ache due to the cook with the hand for salt. Won’t be back we learned our lesson.

Thoroughly enjoyed the 7oz sirloin & garlic herb shrimp from the «under 550 calorie» menu! It made me feel like I’m not even dieting, lol.

I started off with a kiwi lemonade which was good. I like the variety of lemonade flavors that Applebees has to offer, as that is my go-​to drink.
I got the lemon parmesan shrimp. I’m not usually a fan of shrimp but this dish was really good! The portion was just right as well, I did not feel uncomfortably full.

Our late night, last minute choice quite often. When we are headed home from a busy day and playing the «what do you want?» «I don’t care, you choose.» game we always end up here. Everyone loves it. Service is always great and food is always great.
Except anything with the tomatoes. Took a bite out of my tomato last trip and could not eat anything else. The bourbon chicken and shrimp is also gritty and very dirt like. As long as we avoid these items we love the place!

So we were hungry, and we happen to be right by Applebee’s. We’ve never eaten at this location, so we decided to give it a try. The place was dead. No wonder, it’s in a terrible off-​the-​road location. The food was not bad. However, it took forever to arrive, and the portions were small. And for that reason, we will not go back. There are so many other options in the area.

Wife and I stopped here while visiting relatives. The place was busy for a Saturday night but we had no problem getting a table near the bar. Our waiter soon came over and gave us a very creepy stare for about 10 seconds before even saying anything, I’m pretty sure he was high. I ordered the riblets, which I was excited about, but when they came they were as cold as if they had been sitting in a refrigerator all day! I informed the waiter, and he seemed confused for a minute, no doubt his brain impaired by whatever drug he was on, then took them back and finally brought out some hot ones about 10 minutes later. While these were hot, they were anything but great. The only reason we came here in the first place is because we had a gift card, and needless to say we will never set foot in Crapplebees again!

You know, I’m never a big fan of cookie cutter chains like this, but I find the bar staff to be very friendly and they have a late night happy hour which Includes half off apps and cheap large beers and long islands. I love the wonton tacos. Grilled chicken chunks inside a wonton shell with Asian slaw. I love them and at half off unusually gorge myself on them!

Pro: It has the memorabilia hanging on the wall. Good’s out of the way.
Now for the cons:
The place was completely dead, yet we had to fire off a signal flare to get seated. Once seated, it didn’t get better. Barely warm food. The waitress was nominally attentive. Guess she was too busy trying to pass the Bar exam than to wait on us.
Compared to other Applebee’s I’ve been to, this one was the pits. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid this location.

Yes I know it’s a chain restaurant and not one of my favorites to begin with… but I was jonesing for some french onion soup and the only for sure places I knew who might have it was Applebee’s or Outback. Was early so Applebee’s it was.
OK so we walk into this location at around 3:30 or so. A slow time I know. No hostess on staff so we are greeted by, who I later find out, is the bartender.
The greeting? Wassup ya’ll. Umm really? I know we are in the South but a simple, Hi welcome to Applebee’s would have worked just as well.
We are seated and our server greeted us quickly and took our orders.
Drinks come out first and we are a bit at odds because our Margaritas have olives in them. Yes, very strange to be but stay with me and you will so figure it all out as we did.
Food came in a timely manner and while the french onion soup was not foodgasm quality it managed to quench my need.
Order another round of Margaritas and again olives. So now I’m really wondering what the heck is up. We question our server and learn that this is some special margarita that they are promoting right now.
Bells go off in my head as we did not order the «special» rita that has been served to us and I know what will be coming on the bill.
Sure enough we are charged $ 8.50 per margarita when all that was ordered was a rita on the rocks, salt add a splash of OJ.
We question our waitress and are informed that because of the promotion the «special» ritas are cheaper then the well ritas.
I’m still not buying this as I don’t recall ever being anywhere that well ritas are over $ 8. Don’t feel like getting into it with our server as she was really very sweet and did a great job.
As we were leaving I see a sign for a promotion they are having, some competition they are in with other Applebee’s to see who can sell the most Perfect Margaritas. Now it’s all coming together.
To Applebee’s credit I did write and heard back from the GM. Cathy apologized and sent a $ 15 credit to be used on our next visit.
She also informed me that this location is in first for selling the most Perfect Margaritas. Umm ya you think so since if anyone orders a Rita they are getting a Perfect one and being charged for it as well. Not cool

Rarely, rarely do I ever go into a chain restaurant and get the kind of service that I received on this night.
Our service was very friendly and prompt as well as the manager checking in on us and checking to make sure the staff was doing there jobs, too! Cudos to the manager that night as well as the staff … Thanks
We ordered the Sampler Appetizer, very good perfect timing …
I got the Bourbon Steak dinner — DELICIOUS! Cooked perfect with not one piece of evidence of fat or grissle-​amazing — grilled onions and mushrooms on the side… Couldn’t have picked a better dish that night.
My friend got the steak n shrimp parmesan — again perfect night for dinner at Applebee’s …
Very surprised and shocked at the service and the food quality…

Applebees is a typical chain restaurant. Their food is ok, but their bar is great.
Their draft selection is pretty good, and they offer a 2 for 1 happy hour. The location is very convenient to Home Depot, so you can have a few after picking up construction materials. What more manly experience than buying lumber then drinking beer.
