The food is good if you can get over the terrible(and that’s putting it lightly) service. I have eaten here on numerous occasions and my experience is always the same. The food is good and the service is just plain awful. I know they have been doing a 50% groupon deal. I decided to buy it and give them one more chance. I don’t know why I thought it would be any different. Same result. Food = good. Service = horrible. It’s no wonder they are on groupon; they have scared all of the other customers away.(If you still want to brave it, go for the cappelini behle street or the cappelini vegetarian. They are both splendid pasta dishes.) I feel bad for the chef. He does such a great job, he should be working somewhere else.

I went there for lunch with my friend and it is a pretty cute place. I would have loved to sit outside but it rained and looked as if it would rain again any moment. I was boring and got a turkey club which was good, not overly impressive. I thought the price was a bit expensive, but it was in walking distance from my work and I wanted to try it out. I will make it a point to come back for Sunday brunch as that looked like the best thing on the menu.

I had lunch here with a client recently and it was good. We went here because her office is in the office building next door. I don’t think I’m going out on a limb to say that this place, and all the rest in the immediate area, survive solely because of the businesses nearby(maybe with a little help from Newport being fairly close, too). We arrived a bit before noon and it was pretty empty — one other table. Unfortunately, it never got much more crowded than that. It was a Monday, after all, so maybe that’s why. It wasn’t the food. My companion really raved about their meatloaf, especially a dish like spaghetti and meatballs but they use meatloaf instead of meatballs. So I got that, and it was delicious. She had a big salad that wasn’t too big. That was one of the nice things about this place — portion sizes were just right, maybe a touch on the large side. Mine was plenty without being overbearing and I definitely didn’t need a to-go box. The menu looked extensive, so I imagine this is a place you could go over and over again and find something new each time. The bar area looked pretty cool, too, though I doubt I’ll be in down in Covington during«traditional» drinking hours. I’d go back.

We had made reservations for dinner for our group of 12, and they had a nice table set up for us outside on the patio — just as we had requested. The waitress did a great job serving us and refilling our drinks. She even provided individual checks for us! This is why I rated it 3 stars instead of just 2 stars. I had never eaten here before, and I ordered the Cobb Salad. The only good thing about it was that it had a decent amount of chicken on it. On the downside the lettuce was iceburg, and the tomatoes, olives, egg, and bacon were very skimpy portions. The blue cheese dressing had little taste and no cheese chunks — probably just from a bottle. At least it was under $ 10, barely. I didn’t think anyone else’s food looked great either, but I didn’t ask them how they liked it either. I did notice that they were setting up outside for some musicians to play, but this was when we were leaving.

Well, this review will reflect a compilation of 2 visits within the last couple days. First and foremost, if the place is empty before the dinner crowd(ie 4pm-ish), the service is prompt and pretty friendly… BUT if its after 5pm and the place is more than 1⁄3rd occupied, forget it! The wait staff when slightly labored, looked as if they weren’t sure what to do or how to keep up, or remember to take care of drink orders or the other little things. An issue for me was when the place was in the dinner rush, there was a lady walking around with casual street clothes on(everyone else had uniformed shirts on) that kept milling about and walking into the kitchen. I assume she was the manager or something, but she was not dressed in a manner that exemplified a leader and really did little in the way of expediting, or customer engagement! On to the menu. The first thing I noticed was that the prices where really high, and the selections were limited in both amount and interest! The price on the other hand was certainly up there. One of the steaks was 36 bucks, which a fellow diner had during the second visit, it was a very small cut of meat 6 to 8 oz, with deep fried onion straws oddly sticking out all over, that sort of looked like what an onion looks like when it sits in the crisper too long. I had the fajita when no one was in the place, and as someone else had said it was awful. Mine was beef which was cut meat on a hot plate with some yellow peppers and a whole pile of onions all sizzling away, and unless you took all the meat off the plate right away, by the time you get to the last pieces of meat, they are charred, dried and stuck to the plate. Along with the plate of frying stuff, they provide 4 smallish tortillas a small pike of shredded lettuce and tomatoes and that’s about it. Really forgettable and plain! and not worth $ 18. The 2nd time I ate here in as many days, I had salmon, which was overcooked and dry and had very little flavor! The cook must be an ex-fast food fry cook that slaps everything on high heat for too long! With the salmon you get rice, nothing special. For desert I had the choc cake that was also dry and meh. One thing about the forgetting drinks and failure to ask about appetizers with the larger group, loses this place a lot of revenue. Here is a clue for any would be servers and food service managers anywhere… When people come in as a large group, and one person is identified as the person who gets the check, you better sell the crap out of the bar, because that’s where the business makes the most money! My group sat waiting for drinks, or had to remind that they were waiting for drinks several times, this is really bad. All in all the server tried but missed the mark, the restaurant tries but misses the mark, and the food never came close to the mark, both in menu choices as well as flavor… and the price was just silly! Sorry…only 2 stars for you, one for each visit!

I love Behle Street Café. The service is never great, but honestly I don’t really care bc I really love the food and the atmosphere. And, the service has never been bad at all, just not great. My husband and I go all of the time and its consistent. I like that!

Awful, I never rated a place this bad, but the food and the service were terrible. The menus are blocked out in areas with dishes they no longer offer, a few of the menus were full of old food, the fajitas were literally terrible, over cooked, no selection of toppings, and overall one of the worst places I’ve ever eaten at.

Bad, just real bad. Food and service are always frustrating. I’ve given this place two chances to change my mind after my first visit was horrible. But never again. Ordered the tomato basil soup. Tasted like a jar of Prego warmed up in the microwave. Did not take a second bite. After taking a bite of the chicken wrap I noticed that the plate had a pool of oil built up and the bottom of the wrap was soggy. Not sure why a chicken wrap would be dripping grease. Similarly, I just had one bite of the wrap. After placing the uneaten soup and wrap to the side of the table, the server casually took the dishes away and never asked how the food was or if something was wrong. Waited 30 minutes for the check.

There’s something about Behle Street Café that made that I never ever tried it, even when it is one of the very few options to choose from when you live in Covington close to the riverside… It somehow just always lookes quite… dead? Oldfashioned? I don’t know… I finally decided to try it last week and we actually had a good experience. The lunch prices are a lot lower than the dinner prices and I had a great meatloaf with a salad to start(included) for $ 10. I tried the lime pie as dessert and it was very good too! For being such a prime location, with apparently great food, it would be great to see more going on here, as a minimum at least put your menu in the window so people can see what you offer!

Meh… Flew in and arrived at 10:30 and this was next to the Marriott. The Greek salad was just fine, the margarita pizza was so-so. Great wine pour into a to-go cup, though! I wouldn’t necessarily go here again with so many options available… Unless I flew In at 10:30-then, it’d be a decent option. Also, the staff was very friendly…

I came here for my birthday brunch kind of as an afterthought, but I am so glad we did! It was a Monday and nothing else was open, I had always seen this place with the iconic blue roof and thought, huh, I’ve never tried that place. So when it came time we decided to check it out mainly because it was 70 degrees in December and their patio was screaming out for us to come! The patio was really nice, the only weird part is it’s right on the river, but the patio is in the front of the building which has a gorgeous view of stale parking lot. After a few mimosas we didn’t care. We were just excited to be outside! It was so weird to be sitting there in t-shirts listening to Jingle Bells playing in the background. Our waitress was friendly, and the service was very timely. I ordered the chicken fingers which looked frozen, but they were decent. My mom got the quesadilla. She is a chef and actually claimed it was the best one she had ever had in her life. Fried pickles were great and had a good amount of breading on them. They were served with a spicy horseradish sauce that I just could not get enough of. Overall we had a great time here relaxing on the patio. Food was decent, and the service was friendly. I will definetly be back to try their brunch. And TIPALERT: they have endless mimosas on Sunday for $ 12. And one is only $ 4. How is it that cheap? i don’t know but I can’t wait to go.

As I was staying at the Marriott next door during a recent trip to Cincinnati, my buddies and I decided to take advantage of its close proximity to our hotel and check out the scene at Behle Street on a recent Saturday night. I’ll just say, that due to the extensive outdoor area, Behle Street looks much cooler and happenin’ from the outside than it really is once you actually go there. The drinks were reasonably priced: 3 vodka and redbulls were $ 19 or so. A bucket of beers was $ 11. The staff was friendly and the bar tender made sure we had everything we needed. Not that anything was necessarily bad about the place, it just felt dull, drab, and slow. Not many young singles out looking to mingle, if you know what I mean. It was a place where you could take your parents to show them a good time and have a few drinks yourself, but not exactly a place you and your amigos want to go if your looking for a memorable night on the town. And that’s just it, nothing stood out or was memorable about Behle Street for me. I will admit I only drank, and therefore did not have a chance to sample the food, which others have stated is decent. Either way, the next time I’m visiting Cincy, I will probably try to explore bars in downtown Cincy as opposed to returning to Behle Street.

Feel like you’re stepping back into a swankier part of America’s history. The restaurant is an upscale setting with moderate pricing. It’s a downright cheap eat considering the quality and quantity of the food paired with a chic atmosphere. Enjoy the outdoor seating and come for lunch, dinner, or just drinks. Parking can be an issue, so bring cash for the garage.

My honey and I must have been super lucky on our visits to the Behle Street Café, as we enjoyed attentive and warm service from all of the staff, even the staff that weren’t directly serving us. My only wish, is that they served brunch as I enjoy a mimosa when I’m on holiday! The shepherds pie was warm and comforting, definitely not a light meal, but yummy for what it is.

I stayed at the Marriott next door for a number of weeks and this place is a decent go-to for serviceable food. I never actually ate-in. I always called and ordered carry-out and then ate in my hotel room. The staff is sometimes harried — it always seems like the one person tending bar is doing all the work and dealing with carryout orders. Meanwhile there are usually 2 – 3 other people just standing around. If it’s busy, I can see where it would take a while to get food. One main reason I never ate-in is that it’s really smokey, particularly near the bar. As for the food, it is pretty good. I’ve had a few different dishes including the caesar salad with blackened salmon, grilled chicken sandwich, creole pasta(or maybe it was cajun), shrimp pasta, chicken wings and probably a few others. It all pretty much met my expectations. The salads are really good — they claim to make all their dressings in house. I never had any problems with the fish or the chicken. The sausage in the cajun pasta was kind of dry and that dish wasn’t quite as flavorful as I had hoped. I would say of all the things I’ve eaten there it was my least favorite. All-in-all if you’re stuck in Covington on a weeknight, don’t be afraid to check this place out. Unless you really like White Castle b/c that’s about the only other thing within walking distance that is open.

This bar /restaurant stays open until 2:00AM, but keep in mind the kitchen closes at midnight. I arrived in Kentucky after 10:00PM local time and this restaurant was conveniently located across the street from my hotel. The restaurant is dimly lit and the soft music playing in the background made my dining experience very comfortable. My dinner began with the house Caesar Salad, crunchy lettuce squares, tossed lightly with a slightly tart, gritty cream dressing and topped with freshly grated parmesan cheese. Instead of croutons the salad is accompanied by a chunk of hot, crusty French bread with whipped butter. The New York Strip Steak was grilled to a perfect medium. The inch thick cut was tender and juicy. A choice of potato or vegetable comes with the entrée or you can choose a fancy vegetable like asparagus for an additional dollar. I had the lumpy mashed potatoes smothered in a hearty brown gravy. My waitress just happened to be a runner herself so when I told her I was in town to run in the Flying Pig Marathon we ended up having a very enjoyable conversation.
