Besides the trash at the counter when i went a while ago, the food is maybe mediocre and the place is depressing. I feel bad for the owner because they are very nice but need to re-think his counter people.

awful experience. Front counter girl was so involved in a conversation about an employee that has quit and where she was working with 2 people that had already placed their order, even though we had gotten ourselves a menu and was read y to order she asked if we wanted to see a menu, we said we were ready to order she still engaged in a conversation with these other people. So she took our order for Roast beef 10 min. later she came over and said they were out. I order a hanburger, not so good other quest order ham and swiss on po-boy. we got a sausage no cheede. She was a hot mess. Place was dirty and employees seemed the same. Will not return, so sad I love the root beer.

For a quasi-fast food restaurant, Frostop has a pretty good burger. Even though you can now get fancy gourmet burgers all over the place, sometimes you want a traditional style, non-fancy hamburger. That is where Frostop excels. The giant frosted mug atop the building has been like a beacon to me on my trips to Covington. It always called to me to stop, but until recently, I resisted the urge. On a recent trip I succumbed to the giant frosted mug. and I am glad that I did. Frostop is far from fancy. The inside has a 50’s diner theme, but this was once a Pizza Hut(I think). Because the building was not purpose built to be a Frostop, the restaurant loses some of its charm. For food I went with a cheeseburger on French with a side of chili cheese fries. The po-boy was enough food for two people, but was very good. It was obvious that the ground meat was very fresh and prepared to order. Because of that, it took about ten minutes for our food to arrive. The chili cheese fries were not good. As a cheese fries aficionado, I do not like when businesses use nacho cheese in this dish. Frostop used nacho cheese and it ruined the dish. Nacho cheese is not real cheese! If you want a decent burger and are tired of the typical fast food joints, I encourage you to give Frostop a try.

On my first visit the owner was onsite and everything was OK. 2nd visit was a different story. Burger was not as good. Onion rings were way too salty. I was told it was the batter. We pulled up in our car and employees were outside smoking. They ran inside to take our order. Staff looks like poor, dirty girls. Just not appealing enough for me to go back. This place is not going to survive.

Easily as good as the New Orleans place. The Yatwich is excellent.

The big crowd, lined-up out the door was and good sign. However, a whitewashed Pizza Hut ambiance, with a less-than-friendly staff put a noticeable chill in the air. The fresh ground beef burgers are a great concept. But when the bacon is slightly under cooked, it’s just gross. The shrimp burger was heaped with nice sized, well fried shrimp. In short, this location would benefit from some FUN at the front counter, some 50’s music, uniforms and décor, and some smiles from staff. I always give new restaurants the benefit of the doubt. And we will visit again and report back!

Not a great experience for me. I’ve been to the Frostop in Baton Rouge and the one in New Orleans and the prices were considerably cheaper. For example, a shake at this location in Covington is over $ 5 with tax, but at the Baton Rouge location(which I’ve been to in the last 6 months), it may have come up to $ 3. And the basic«lotto» burger, even without the combo, came out to just about $ 7 with tax at this location, but in Baton Rouge, it was under $ 5 with tax. The food and the atmosphere here are just as good as the other locations, but due to the clear mark-up in prices simply because it’s in the Covington/Mandeville area, I just can’t justify coming here again.

The food was great and the prices even better! This place offers lunch and dinner, all at very reasonable prices! They have some things on the menu that you don’t often see like banana or nectar milkshakes. Their menu seems to have something for everyone, such as burgers, po-boys, salads, kids meals, and seafood plates. I could tell that everything was very fresh and they said they use fresh, not frozen hamburger meat which is obvious when you taste the burgers! You can also have your soda or float in a frosty mug. This is a great place to take kids too because they have some video games and a jukebox to keep them busy while the adults can watch TV. Overall a great experience and I was surprised to see how well put together the place was having just opened. We’ll definitely be back!

Quick, great sevice, and you can not beat the prices. The burgers are AMAZING! The food is very fresh and the atmosphere makes you feel like you are in a 50’s diner. Also there are video games for kids, including pac man!
