Me and my family decided to try the pizza from this restaurant and it was a total disaster!!! The service was terrible… our pizza was burnt and our server rung up someone else’s bill on my cc… wow took a week for them to figure it out and now I have to drive to the restaurant in Metaire to pick up the money they over charged me… Well that is the last time we go to this place… THUMBSDOWN!!!

I gave this restaurant too many chances. We have good and bad experiences mixed in, but the last story will keep me away. The first time we went the waitress we had didn’t know anything about anything. Nothing about specials, can’t tell me specifics about anything on the menu. It was like when they opened they didn’t train any of their wait staff. We asked about the beers on tap, she said, «I don’t know but you can go see for yourself,» pointed towards the bar and left. Ok, it’s not that bad, but the rest of the service that night was horrible. The pizza that we got was interesting, but like others stated, definitely mediocre pizza. Fast forward several months. Second time we went there it was lunch and NOONE else was there. Very friendly bartender, we get our food fast and we picked Heros this time, which were very good, crispy, and almost too much to eat. Left happy and full. We come back several weeks later with a group. We order drinks and food. Service was more than horrible. First cheese sticks came out and the marinara spills all over my friend’s hand, and also on his friend’s shirt. They immediately apologize and say«I’ll go get you another one». She NEVER comes back; granted this is a girl that wasn’t waiting on us but rather just helped with getting food out of the kitchen. He asks for marinara again from our waitress this time, along with several drink orders, still no marinara sauce. We end up finishing the cheese sticks without it. Then we ask for club soda to remove the marinara for his friend’s shirt. Nothing. No help. Drinks were ordered and some came some didn’t. We ask for the manager. **This is when it gets out of control. The manager at the time, this blonde haired lady, basically blames all of it on us, saying we were griping about everything the whole time, and overall said we were wrong. As we were making our claim she finally gives in and says that she she’s sorry and allows us to take home a free drink. After that we get our checks, but no one would come and take our money/cards to pay out. The manager behind the bar after that on the phone, looking like she was complaining at the owner or calling the cops. On top of everything else we were all automatically charged 18% for very poor, slow, and rude service. You don’t treat any customers like they are at fault. PERIOD. If your waitress can’t handle the service, all she has to do is ask for assistance. We were very lenient. Forgetting an order or a request once is fine, but the whole night is ridiculous. I will not be back, and the tone of that manager talking to us in that manner basically ruined my whole outlook on this place. EDIT: Not surprised this place closed down. Just saying.

We have been to Rocketfire several times, and the pizza has been wonderful… until tonight. We haven’t had a chance to go since before last Christmas; some friends gave us a gift card because we had raved about the pizza. Went tonight to make use of the gift card and were greatly disappointed. I got my potato soup, which(before) was probably the best potato soup I’ve ever had; tonight it was very thin and watery. Our normal«Works» pizza was way too brown, very salty, and so thin we could hardly find a crust; I don’t think it had the same ingredients that we normally get… just was not good at all. I hope they don’t have new cooks(didn’t recognize any of the guys making pizza, nor did they look very«interested» in making pizzas))…hope they’re not letting quality slide. Definitely not the same delicious food as they had previously. We’ll go back to finish off our gift card, and am hoping for soup and pizza like it was 6 months ago.

I went back here and tried one of their sandwiches. I got a Chicken Parm and the chicken was dry and overcooked. Two or three bites and I was done with the sandwich and I am done with this place.

First time I went it was pretty decent. The next time I decided to order ahead of time and pick up my pizza. Upon arriving, I told the hostess that I needed to pick up a pizza. She then said I could pick it up around the corner. I wandered through all the people waiting to be seated and found a half circle bar. I asked the bar tender where I pick up my pizza I ordered. He told me I was in the right place. I then sat at the bar, 45 mins after ordering from home. There was a pizza in a take out box staring me in the face, and I had my card out ready to pay. I asked him if that was mine. He then told me it wasn’t. Another 15 minutes passes and he asks another bartender to check on my pizza. He then says that it is mine, but I will have to wait 5 minutes because of a change in cash register log on. Needless to say, I left without a rocket fire pizza but a cold pop pizza. Never going again.

This is surprisingly good for what first gave me the impression of a chain. This is the first coal fired pie that i’ve had near home, and it is by far my favorite on the North Shore. Toppings are well balanced and quality, and the pleasant char is something not commonly found around these parts.

Actually, this in itself isn’t saying much, I think this is the North Shore’s best pizza. It’s actually pretty damn good pizza. Sandwiches aren’t bad either. The restaurant makes good use of the former location of at least two restaurants that didn’t make it. Very nice view of the river from the main dining room. The overall decorative theme is something like 1950’s sci fi comic books and B-movies but it’s not overdone. A little tacky, yes, but kind of cool at the same time. Not sure what this has to do with the pizza or the river view but it somehow works. This is actually a rather nice restaurant. But back to the pizza — it’s thin crust cooked in a very hot coal burning oven just as it should be. The coal fire adds a slight smokiness to the pie. Add a few interesting toppings and you have yourself a pretty tasty pizza. Nice bar as well. Wine is $ 5/glass and $ 15/bottlle at all times. There’s not a great selection and certainly noting upscale but it’s still the best overall deal on wine compared to any other restaurant in town. Service is professional and efficient. Bottom line: nothing wrong with it! Go and have yourself some pretty good pizza!

Décor nice but food wasn’t making me want to run back anytime soon. Kids fries were tasty though. Wait staff below average.

I went with a 7 person group and was seated immediately. The service during our visit was good. The appetizers were better than average. We got the garlic cheese bread and garlic fries. The pizza was great! We got the fried eggplant pizza, BBQ chicken pizza, and the meteor. We were not disappointed. The fried eggplant made for a food lunch the day after. They also have a better than average beer selection. We will definitely be returning again!

I am not sure about the name, but RocketFire has pretty good food. Located in the former Restaurant Ami/Tapatini’s location, RocketFire makes good use of the large building. Located along both sides of the host stand were giant wine racks filled from floor to ceiling. The restaurant continued with the upscale theme throughout with a very clean and modern look. We started with an order of their garlic fries. It doesn’t seem that the fries come with any dipping sauce so we added a side of ranch. With the ranch, the fries were very good. I don’t know if they would have been as good without it. Morale of the story: order ranch with the fries. The Philly Cheesesteak was good, but like the fries was missing something. Even loaded with veggies and steak, it was kind of dry. I added mayonnaise, but it didn’t help. I could only eat half so the next day, I added Heinz 57, and the sandwich was significantly better. The pizza is cooked in a coal burning oven. Apparently this is the way pizza used to be made in New York. I thoroughly enjoyed the thin crust, unique sauce and slight char. I have no idea if this was traditional New York pizza, but it was good. The pizzas can get expensive, but the ingredients are high end so I think it is worth it. There are several wine choices for $ 5 a glass. There is also a fairly large selection of beer. In the room opposite the dining area is a large bar as well. I would imagine the bar would be a good place to get a quick bite at the beginning of a night out. Everyone we encountered was very helpful and friendly. There were some service hiccups, but it is very new. i would expect that service would improve as they are open longer. To summarize; RocketFire was good, there is room for improvement. I suspect that I will become a regular and will update my review accordingly.

RocketFire Pizza’s service & staff were friendly, energetic, and knowledgeable! Our pizza was VERY tastey — excellent flavor & cooked to perfection! Desserts were high-end tasting without the high-end cost. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a beautiful view. Our whole dining experience was completely pleasurable & we will be back — OVER&OVER again! And we will spread the word. FINALLY a pizza place got it right! (People posting negative reviews never ate there and are obviously from the competitor across the street — Mellow Mushroom. They can’t compete with their food so they post LIES. THEIR pizza is burnt & overcooked– service is terrible, & that place is WAY over-rated. I went 2 times & hated it both times. I’ll NEVER go there again!) WELOVEROCKETFIREPIZZA!!!

Well so far, not so good, took 13 mins to be greeted by a hostess that said my server would be with me Soon. I ordered the Philly sandwich and garlic fries. I felt weird ordering a pizza by myself. The sesame seed roll the sandwich is on is nice and fresh and there is a great amount of steak with a nice amount of veggies and cheese. I’m quite delighted actually. The garlic fries are kind of light on the garlic and the roast beef poboy lover in me is longing for some gravy here, or really any sort of dipping sauce. The décor is modern and simple and there is a nice view through the massive four windows on the south side of the building. The music is a bit out of place. As I’m writing this, the sever Hollyn, recommends that I try the fries with some ranch and jalapeño! Nice. the prices here are moderate, especially the wine list. 5 bucks for a glass 15 a bottle… for everything. All in all, I’ll be back. I hear the bread pudding is incredible. I need to try it, but not today.

The food was great. It certainly wasn’t cheap(a bit more than Mellow Mushroom), but the portions were HUGE! I had a calzone and I had trouble finishing just half of it, and I’m a big eater. Their«hero» sandwiches were also very large, big enough to where two people could easily split one and still have some to take home. The atmosphere was was relaxed, but still very classy. The service was good. Definitely try it out!

I Was Really looking forward to the opening. Ambiance is fabulous, has a 50’s sci-fi theme and a really cool, hip bar. We had the garlic fries and they were pretty good. About that time I noticed the music was some really loud obnoxious Reggie. We then got our food, I had the meteor pizza and found the sauce to be really strong and bold but not in a good way. The meal was also pretty expensive which is okay since it’s an upscale pizza joint, just wish the pizza was worth it. Service was fine. I would not recommend to eat, but drinks would be cool here.
