Came with family to have dinner. I loved the options that they had for dinner. Being from California, our cafeteria style restaurants are more American traditional foods you’ll find at Hometown Buffett(yuck). Prices were decent, just depends on your appetite. Customer service was good. Staff went out of their way to bring items that were not already out in front. Environment was clean and calm. Piccadilly maybe a normal«go to» for the locals but for an outsider it’s a gem on a budget :)

I’ve been going to this Piccadilly for the breakfast buffet, which is only served on weekends. There’s no other place nearby that has a breakfast buffet that I know of. About once a month I’ve been visiting for the last six months. Seems like they have a devoted following of elderly customers that are there each weekend. The waitress seems to know most of their names and what they order. The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputies seem to like this place as well. The breakfast buffet is set up in chafing dishes on tables in the dining area instead of along the serving line like you would find the food during lunch or dinner. Usual spread includes two different styles of scrambled eggs, grits, hash browns, pork sausage links, turkey sausage links, country fried chicken, biscuits and gravy, bacon, cinnamon rolls, assorted fruit, and cold cereal. They also have an omelet station where you can get an omelet fixed your way, waffles, pancakes, french toast or fried eggs. Your buffet also includes unlimited coffee, apple juice, and orange juice. For around $ 8 before a tip, it’s really not all that bad. As far as the quality of the food, it’s hit or miss sometimes. I like crispy bacon. Sometimes the bacon is more soggy than crispy. You can tell that some of the items have been sitting there for a while too. I’ve walked in right when they opened at 7:30 with two or three three other people sometimes. The dishes would be filled with tons of food that they must have prepared before opening. Seems like a little much for just a few customers. It’s like they were expecting two bus loads of people to walk through the doors. I would have preferred to see smaller amounts of food in the dishes. It appears that they have the same wait staff most weekends that I visit. They like to eat their breakfast near where the tables are set up with the buffet items. I know that the employees have to eat while at work. But personally, I don’t like to be able to see them eat. That’s something that should go on behind the scenes, but that’s just me. What I can really do without is the loud gossiping that goes on with the wait staff while they are right there where everyone can hear it. Save that stuff for when you’re hanging out by the dumpster on your smoke break. To sum everything up, if you’re looking for a decent breakfast buffet that won’t break the bank, give this Piccadilly a try. The earlier in the morning, the better. You’ll beat the crowds. Especially on Sundays. Once the local churches start to let out, they tend to get crowded.

I never want to go to Picadilly. It is not ever on my list when I want to go out. That being said, I am periodically forced to come here. Even though I never choose to come here, the food is actually decent. I am usually able to find some homestyle meal that I actually enjoy. Today I had the hamburger steak, mashed taters and macaroni. I enjoyed it all. I have also found that their red beans and sausage are good. Service is adequate, but it does seem that they give better service to the older clientele. I assume they are regulars so I understand the preferential treatment, but occasionally I might want a refill. I still wont want to come here, but it is nice to know that when I’m forced, I wont go hungry.
