I feel like you can’t really go wrong with ½ price sushi — a common phenomenon in Greater Cincinnati. Wabi Sabi isn’t one of the cheapest places but I have to say that the service at is pretty attentive and you have the option of eating in their back patio! Additionally, their rolls are bigger than what you usually get, in my opinion. Their spicy tuna rolls are actually pretty darn spicy. I wasn’t expecting that but I didn’t hate it. Though, I would avoid their tempura fried rolls. They are usually a guilty pleasure of mine but these were much heavier and oily than I’m used to.

You know those days when sometimes the only thing to satisfy your craving is sushi… This place is my new spot for that! Half price sushi all the time-doesn’t mean other dishes are half price. Basically the prices are high so you feel like you’re getting a deal! I’ve enjoyed pretty much all the rolls they have and absolutely love the house ginger salad-i could drink the dressing! If you want to try something different and fun for a nice night out on the patio I recommend Korean bbq for 2! So much food and you can grill it in front of you

Dined in on Sunday night as a party of six. We waited an hour for our sushi while my friends fried rice came out 25 minutes before everyone else’s food. Some of the sushi was wrong and it was just ok. Our server knew that were were not thrilled and not once did a manager come over to apologize. I guess when you have a $ 300 table and you know that six people and up are automatically added gratuity, you don’t need to worry about how well the dinner is actually going. We paid and left, but none of us are going to return.

I hate taking off a star from my reviews however, a recent experience 2 weekends ago compelled me to do so. We came in for a late dinner after a graduation, and were actually glad they were open late. We ordered several sushi orders and 2 Korean entrees — Bibimbab and Bulgogi. The sushi was great as usual however their Korean entrees were great disappointments. They were both served with a measly amount of beef. The Bulgogi had a small amount of beef on top of a whole plate of sauteed onions. The same can be said for the Bibimbab which was a bowl of rice with hardly any beef. My recommendation is to come here for their sushi however, if you’re looking for Korean food, go next door for your fix.

The sushi was very mediocre and as I’ll always try the sushi spots around town, this one didn’t quite do it for me. Being there during happy hour was a plus+ though

Wabi Sabi is pretty darn good. I’ve already been twice in the past week! This place is located on an urban street in Covington that somewhat resembles OTR. They offer plenty of seating, including their outdoor patio out in the back. I usually just sit at the bar. The staff has been pretty friendly and helpful in explaining things to me. My food did take a little longer to arrive than I would have liked. But boy, it was worth it! The Sunday Morning roll is deep fried and is completely mouth-watering. They also do a superb job on the Volcano Roll. YUMMY. Their chicken fried rice is enough to serve(3) people so that’s a big plus, too. And did I mention the sushi is half-priced SEVEN days a week? And they also have great drink & appetizer specials as well? I just love a good glass of plum wine. Check this place out next time you’re in KY.

I love sushi and I love trying all the half-price sushi spots all around Cincinnati, so Wabi Sabi had been bookmarked immediately after I discovered it. Going into new sushi places I always love to try one of their«specialty rolls.» They don’t have many rolls which made me wonder if there entrees are more a focus or specialty for them. After long deliberation, I decided to try their air force roll and pair it was my classic California roll. As for service, Immediately upon being seated at the bar I thought to myself this is going to be great service, quickly receiving waters and our spring mix salads while we decided which rolls we wanted and that did take some time and she was being graciously patient with us. That being said once our rolls were passed across the bar to us, we did not see much of our server. That lost a star for us because it seemed as though she completely lost interest in us. Yes in was close to closing time for them but they were still getting guests coming through the door and we were just wanting to close our tab and pay, which took a bit longer than it should have. The California roll I must say was delicious, it was packed full of veggies which made it for a very light and refreshing roll. The Air Force roll was just kind of off in more ways than one. Immediately on mine and my friend’s first bites of our individually chosen speciality rolls we quickly both mentioned how«fishy» it tasted. I know that sounds weird considering it contains seafood but it was too overpowering, which was disappointing. There were a lot of other ingredients involved we would have loved to enjoy the flavors of in the roll as well. I quickly ate up all my California roll but my Air Force roll I left more than normal whenever I visit ANY sushi establishment… THISGIRLLOVESSUSHI. All in all I wouldn’t say I’d never come back here but the hours, closing at 10pm(I mainly look for half-price sushi late night), the service and choice of rolls aren’t my top pick. But I’m glad I stepped out of my normal sushi spots to try somewhere new.

Their Chicken Katsu & Crispy Soft Shell Crab is just fantastic. Best one I ever had in a long time. The service was also wonderful.

Came by for lunch one day and the place wasn’t packed but it took really long for the staff to attend out table of four people, everything related to service was extremely slow and perhaps they just need one or two more people during lunch. I got some sushi(salmon rolls) and a yaki soba with beef. Both the items were okay and kind of basic and was priced favorably for lunch. I will have to try out dinner sometime and will have to update this review. By the way they have half priced sushi… umm everyday… yeah I don’t get it either but it does give you a nice option for grabbing a lot of sushi if you are craving so.

While I continue to be annoyed by the«half priced sushi» scam that seems to be everywhere here in town, I like Wabi Sabi. It’s a bit off the beaten path so there is less likely to be a line/wait and the sushi is pretty good. They don’t have a huge variety of rolls but, considering a lot of places have a lot of the same things with different names, that isn’t a big concern for me. The wait staff have always been friendly and attentive. Give it a shot when CLoud 9 is packed

This place has been on my list for a long time – I am disappointed it took me so long to try it out! Our waiter explained the ordering process quickly – it was very clear and easy to order exactly what you wanted. The menu is set up really well – giving you detailed information about what is INSIDE the roll and what is on the OUTSIDE of the roll, much more detail than I am used to at other sushi places which makes it easy to figure out exactly what you want. A co-worker and I split the seaweed salad, wasabi shumai, Playboy roll, Hawaiian roll, and Bengal roll. EVERYTHING was excellent. After having some sub-par sushi last week, this place really stood out as great. Plenty of food for two(or three…) and our total bill was around $ 33 which seemed plenty fair. Sushi is always ½ price and they have some great happy hour deals. I can’t wait to come back and try out the patio.

I work in Covington and didn’t even know that this place existed until a co-worker mentioned it and we went for dinner. We tried the octopus roll and of course my favorite the California roll. Both were extremely delicious. The dessert was great as well. The rolls were half price and so worth ordering a large order. The waiter was friendly and very attentive. Will definitely go back soon

Now that I can get a glass of wine with my sushi, I’m updating my review to give Wabi Sabi a 5-stars rating. I’m in the Cincinnati area a couple times a month for work, and I lived in northern Kentucky while I was in law school, so I have several friends in the area. Wabi Sabi has become one of our regular meeting places. There is a large variety of rolls; something to please everyone. I’ve never been served something I didn’t like and the presentation is always gorgeous. The restaurant is trendy, with a lovely bar and popular music & TVs inside. It can be a little loud at peak hours, so if that’s not your thing, there’s a beautiful covered patio outside. Also? We’ve never had to wait for a table. If you love the experience of eating sushi, sharing rolls with friends, laughing over drinks, you should definitely check out Wabi Sabi.

Wabi Sabi is like a hidden gem in Covington. Their sushi is great, but my favorite thing is their Lunch Bento Box. The restaurant is pretty long & narrow, with a cute little patio behind back. The Teriyaki Beef lunchbox is unreal — & it is like a surprise every time, because they switch up some of the sides it comes with! It always has rice & a ginger salad, but then it has some random things(pot stickers, some sushi, edamame…) — all so good together. Nice atmosphere & pretty good service. I love Wabi Sabi!

Good sushi. Great prices. Half price all the time! We had the Bengal, crunch munch, California, fire cracker and spicy shrimp as well as bbq eel and salmon nigiri. The veggie tempura was pretty good but nothing to write home about. Nice atmosphere. Attentive wait staff.

My friend and I grabbed lunch here today and it was great! We shared three rolls(the hot momma was one but I forget the other two names). The prices are very reasonable too. It was less than $ 10 for each of us. The service was fast and someone was always checking on our water and if we needed anything. The inside was a bit dark due to the black ceilings and dark red walls. I am guessing it’s even darker at night. Other than that, it was a great experience and I will definitely be back!

My new favourite place to go for sushi! We started out with the gyoza. Delicious! I had the Dancing Shrimp roll. The flavours danced on my pallet. My husband had an assortment of nigiri. He was very satisfied. We dined at the bar. Our server was attentive to our needs while also covering the patio out back(which looks quite lovely by the way) as well as the tables near the door. Still no liquor license, but they are nearing the end of their«wait period». I imagine the place will be packed once that happens in a couple weeks.

Howdy Unilocalers! My family and I decided to check out the new spot in Covington: Wabi Sabi. We arrived at about 4:45PM, as they open at 4:30PM after a two hour break. «Half-price sushi» still confuses me, but I didn’t grow up in Cincinnati, so maybe it’s just a cultural thing.(why can’t you just put the price for eating in on the menu?). Anyway, people love«half-price sushi» in Cincinnati, and apparently the owner of Wabi Sabi coined the phrase himself at a former restaurant of his. We were the only ones to arrive, and the only ones in the restaurant until about five after five, so if you arrive early, you’ll get seated right away. Lots of choices of sushi including some signature sushi. There was a fancy veggie based roll on the Chef’s menu we really enjoyed(server recommended it). This was our first experience with the kids at a sushi place, and they really enjoyed it. From our perspective, we did not taste anything that tasted fishy, and that’s already a step ahead of any Cincinnati sushi I’ve had. If you’re going here with kids, order a couple cucumber/avocado rolls, and California rolls just to be safe. We’ve begun to visit restaurants that aren’t necessarily geared towards children and families and dine with all five kids in tow. If you’re considering taking the kids out with you for dinner, this is a good choice, IMO. More family reviews coming…

Awesome sushi! I believe it’s the same owner as the old Dancing Wasabi(which was my favorite sushi restaurant). The owner, Charlie, is a friendly guy and you can see him walking around talking to customers. Seaweed salad is phenomenal and my favorite roll so far is the firecracker roll. The atmosphere is funky and relaxing. Yummy yummy!
