This is our go-to take out place in Cranford. Food is good and almost always comes more quickly than they say! Price is good. Overall, no complaints!

My husband has celiac disease and this is the only gluten free Chinese restaurant in the area. And it was really good! He had the General Tso Chicken and I and the Tai food Chicken, Shrimp & rice. There was a separate gluten free menu which was impressive. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about celiac disease. This was a big plus for us! We will definitely be coming back!

Food is good. Maybe not the best Chinese ever but not bad. Service is typically good, Once I saw the kid at the front desk go apesh! t on a customer getting take-out. That was troubling. He was annoyed because the customer wanted service when he was playing on his phone. I didn’t go back for a few years after that.

I love everything I’ve had here, especially their steamed vegetable dumplings, which appear to have real fresh veggies inside(unlike so many other places!). Consistently good all around.

The massaman curry had french fries instead of potatoes. The chicken and seafood dumplings tasted old, possible had gone bad. I would not go back.

Excellent food, friendly service. They have an extensive and delicious gluten free menu and seem very careful about food safety– I’ve never gotten gluten’d here and I’ve been eating here for years. Even during the dinner rush they’re always very careful. They also have vegetarian options on the gluten free menu, which is great for people with multiple dietary requirements. Order a bit spicier than you think you want, dishes tend to be very mild.

I would give it 2.5 stars if I could. We stopped in for a late dinner Saturday night at around 8:00 pm. They put the standard duck sauce and crispy noodles shortly after sit down. We started with the steamed vegetable dumplings which were bland even with the salty teriyaki sauce they gave us. Worse yet, they were so tender, the majority of the dumplings broke up the moment you attempted to transfer them from plate to plate. Our main course consisted of the Kung Pao Three, Chicken and Broccoli, and the Vegetable Low Mein. The portions were very generous and we took home the leftovers. The Kung Pao Three was the best of the three and it had some kick to it as promised. The other two were just average. The very slow service was what brought them down this night. We waited much to long between ordering and waiting for each of our meals to come out. It was obvious why. We only saw 3 people working the entire front of the restaurant. The same three people, most likely the owners and/or managers, did everything from greeting, seating, taking your order, cleaning tables, answering the phones, managing the very busy takeout service, serving the food, and presenting the check for closeout. It’s a busy Saturday night and they shouldn’t skimp on the service. You could see these 3 were hurrying, anxious, and constantly in a rush. I was told by my daughter the bathrooms were dirty. I than looked around and noticed the floors were dirty with wrappers, napkins, and lots of crumbs. If they had a busboy and other staff, this wouldn’t happen. Lastly, the prices are higher than the other Chinese restaurants in town. I hadn’t been in here for a few years because we mostly do takeout from other places but because of my disappointment, it might be a while before I go back again.

I’m only familiar with dim sum being available on Sundays in fast paced, super crowded restaurants, so when I found this spot I was really excited to have dim sum on a Tuesday. There was only 1 waiter, and he very friendly and polite. The food was good. I would prefer the food from the aforementioned restaurant, but this place will do just fine when I have a dim sum craving.

Used to love this place, For Years! Until today. We have ordered from them for at least the past 3 years and were always very pleased with both the quality of food and the service. Here is what happened today. We ordered 2 lunch specials, both chicken and broccolis with Won ton Soups. My friend noticed a fly in his soup as soon as he opened it. We called the restaurant to inform them about the fly and they offered to give us another soup. No thank you. The owner was nice enough however to come down and inspect the soup. This wasn’t necessary but we allowed him to come see for himself. He did come back down and admitted that sometimes fly’s get into the vegetables and sometimes wind up in the food. He offered to give us a discount next time we ordered. WEWOULDHAVEBEENHAPPYWITHTHIS, however he had the audacity to call us back and say that it was a not a fly, but a root. We told him it was ok, we were over it but he rudely insisted it was not a fly, yelling and shouting at us. The fly’s wings were clearly visible, There was no question it was a fly. Also the last time we ordered we asked if there was a charge for brown rice, the same man said no. When we told him about our coupon after, he said NOW I CHARGEYOUFORBROWNRICE. Not the way to do business. Sorry Dim Sum. Uploading photo next, see for yourself!

When I was in Jersey for business, I was coming off of food poisoning from my Asia trip and was looking for somewhat authentic Asian food in Cranford. It was very hard for me to eat and to hold anything down. There wasn’t anything in Cranford except gas stations, fast food and a whole lot of nothing. Overall, I was pretty impressed with Dim Sum II. It was pretty good, which I wasn’t expecting at all. The staff was really nice and the take out came out within a reasonable amount of time.

I consider this Gourmet Chinese food. !!! FRESH! I don’t bother writing reviews about restaurants that aren’t good. I am a local, and I don’t like to cook. I will eat almost anything that is not poison if someone else makes it. And I like to eat at home. WITHTHATSAID, I order take-out from Dim Sum and I eat it and I go,“MMMMMMMMM!” I do not expect to get to China in this lifetime, and wherever I eat Chinese food out, I ask about the authenticity of the dishes. I am often assured that it would not be appetizing to me if it were authentic. WITHTHATSAID, I don’t care what cuisine this«OFFICIALLY» is, or how tailored to local New Jersey American tastes it may or may not be, ITISAWESOME! I have not tried their Thai offerings on the menu,(tho i love thai food) but I LOVE the House Specialties ESPECIALLY their Mongolian Triple Delight, and Emperor’s Spinach. When I feel like pretending I am a vegetarian, I like the Shanghai Bok Choi with Black Mushrooms(I was told this dish IS authentically regional Chinese) and Broccoli with Garlic Sauce. If I am down with a cold, I can depend on their soups to lift my spirits: I recommend their Chicken and Vegetable soup, better than home made! and Hot and Sour soup which is extra black-peppery.(Who needs a doctor when you can amplify your good health with good food?) I like to think that by now I have eaten everything on their menu as I have been dining on their take-away regularly since the mid-1990’s. But I have yet to try the full Dim Sum appetizer menu.(I regularly order their Pan Fried Wontons Szechuan Style, which come with a spicy sauce). They are liberal with their fresh garlic and ginger,(MMMMMMMMM!) and their vegetables are always Top-Notch fresh. Their dining area is informal, more like an old fashion diner, which I hope they keep, with booths, and colorful prints on the walls, not at all looking like a «traditional» Chinese restaurant. You can have a family party atmosphere at a table, or more intimate feeling in a booth. The two never seem to clash in there. I will update this review when I finally do go in for a sit-down dim sum experience. UPDATE: I brought my family in for a sit-down dinner, I made a reservation for 7 adults and 4 of them showed up an hour late. The staff made no bones about waiting, and my fussy family was very happy with their choices. We brought our own wine and beer and had a merry time. The entire bill for 7 entrees and one appetizer came out to under $ 120. UPDATEUPDATE! I recently ordered from their«seasonal menu» — «Winter Special» — «spicy shrimp wanton» and«shrimp in spicy szechuan sauce.» Take advantage of the opportunity to take a gourmand adventure! I have never had spices like this before. I noticed the flavors of five spice –star anise with a real Zing! MMMM!!! when can I move in?

By far the best Chinese restaurant around the area, plus they also have a Gluten-Free selection prepared separately. If you Dine-In and or Take-Out you will get Friendly employees, fast service, great tasting food. Highly recommended. Also if you Dine-In try their Tea.

Good place if you are anxious to eat any Chinese food, this is place for you if you want to dine in. Way nicer than the typical take-out places, so this is the place I would recommend!

This is a great local Chinese place. Food is always good. We generally get the general tso, and a chicken and broccoli. Never really had a bad experience here with those regulars. Some of the other food that we’ve tried here is cold sesame noodles, and pork fried rice. I am a huge fan of their pork fried rice — it’s actually«brown» and not«yellow». If you eat in, they always serve you crunchy noodles and duck sauce while you’re looking through the menu. Definitely recommend this place if you’re craving Chinese food.

I wanted to like it. I really did want to like it. I didn’t. Typical take-out Chinese quality dishes with some take-out quality dim sum. I wasn’t looking for typical on this day. I wanted a good-quality neighborhood place that would bring me back again and again. I haven’t been back and I probably won’t be. If you’re satisfied by mediocre Chinese food, give it a try. You might like it better than I did.

After seeing a movie at the nearby Cranford Theater my girlfriend and I wandered around the corner to Dim Sum II to have dinner. This is not your typical Chinese take-out joint with a couple hastily assembled tables. The restaurant is very clean and organized with nice pictures lining the walls and Chinese Lantern decorations in the front. To the right are several tables with chairs and to the left are booths. My girlfriend and I sat at a booth towards the back which was perfect as it was closer to the kitchen. What can I say? I like getting my food quickly! The restaurant was quiet, but keep in mind it was New Year’s Day when half the town was closed down. As time went along however more and more people filtered in for the dinner shift. As soon as we sat down we were given a bowl of fried wonton noodles with duck sauce to dip. They’re delicious and horrible for you. Honestly I could have eaten the entire bowl by myself but I held back. We were also given water and tea automatically, which impressed me. Here’s a rundown of what we had: EGGDROPSOUPWITHTOMATO This is exactly what it sounds like, a traditional egg drop soup. Thick, with chunks of egg swirled in but with fresh tomato added. The tomato gives it an extra bit of flavor and bite. i was happy to see they used fresh tomato instead of canned tomato. SHRIMPWINTERSPECIAL A combination of meaty shrimp, carrots, squash, baby corn, peas and pineapple. The dish is definitely meant to be served with rice as it is quite sweet with a touch of savory. By itself it can be a bit strong, but with rice it’s absolutely perfect. I was really happy with the size of the shrimp, each one was two significant bites. Super awesome. CHICKENWITHBROCCOLI Done in a stir fry with garlic sauce I was very happy with this dish. The sauce was the perfect balance of salty and sweet. The chicken was tender and juicy while the broccoli was perfectly cooked. It had some good bite while being slightly tender. Again, the sauce can make this dish a bit«too much» without some rice to go with it, but it is served with rice(option of brown for $ 1 more). For the end of the meal we were given four slices of sweet orange and two fortune cookies. Standard in some places, but not done in others. Our bill came out to about $ 30 with tip which for the town was more than fair. Next time I’m looking forward to trying some of the dishes that the restaurant is named after. While they don’t have all the traditional dim sum, I did notice some dumplings on the menu. I can’t wait to try them!

I’d say this is a pretty average NJ Chinese food restaurant, with a few extra little touches that make it a little more special. The inside is small but comfortable, and filled with an assortment of random paintings of scenery – mostly Italy but none of China? They give you crispy fried noodles for the table, duck sauce and a pot of very hot Chinese tea. The dumplings were actually very good. I was a fan of the pork and of the vegetable. They were nicely fried and the fillings are flavorful. Wonton soup was also good. My Chicken and Broccoli was pretty average. I have to deduct a star due to the fact my husbands entrée had a piece of hair in it, that doesn’t bother him but would have bothered me. They give you orange slices with fortune cookies at the end of the meal, which is nice! Plus everyone was very friendly. Prices are reasonable but not the cheapest.
