I picked up the Sushi and Sashimi dinner with Miso Soup. Clean, crisp and delicious. Definitely a great place.

I love this restaurant — I am not a local, but stay locally once or twice a month, and this is my go to place for sushi! I sit at the sushi bar and the waitress remembers my unique preferences — much appreciated! Always fresh, delicious and well presented.

Easily the best salad, tempura and sushi I have had in this area. Also byo, reasonably priced and very attentive service. Looking forward to trying more dishes. It is a great stride for Cranford to have a 2 block stretch with a sushi place this good, plus Cuban, Greek, Middle Eastern and Asian fusion places. Unlike Scotch Plains, they did not simply surrender restaurant leadership to Westfield.

RUDE service and just OK food. Called earlier in the day and they said they don’t take reservations. Ok fine. Show up at 5:55pm to a scant crowd and see a table of 10 set up. Told them we have 8 adults and 4 kids. The waitress sets up a table for us and when we walk over, i realize its only set up for 8 seats. I told her we have 12 total and that I had said 8 adults plus 4 kids. I ask her about the table that’s already set up and she says that its for someone else. I said, i thought you dont take reservations and she explained that it wasnt a reservation and the customer called 5 mins ago and said they were on their way so they set the table up. Sounds like a reservation to me. Then she begrudgingly finds another place to seat us. Her frustration was obvious because she broke plates pushing the tables together. And her frustration with us is still apparent when she tells us to sit. She says to us «make sure your friends are definitely coming because its very busy on weekends and we cant have you holding the table for 2 hours». Seriously lady?! If it wasn’t for the fact that the birthday boy picked this place, i would have upped and left. Meanwhile, the table for 10 that called still hadnt arrived by the time 6 of our 8 adults sat down. Then we have our dinner… food was mediocre at best. We finish our food and saying our goodbyes as we waited for people to return from the restroom but all the staff is staring us down and trying to get us the F@$& out. The place wasnt closed, no one was waiting and there were still other tables eating. Terrible customer service. Spend your money somewhere else.

Best Sushi around. Always fresh and delicious ! Love the ginger dressing on the salad, wish they would bottle it and sell.

First rate sushi and sashimi with beautiful presentation, perfect service, talented chefs, nice ambience, reasonable prices, and it’s located right in downtown Cranford. We love this place and will definitely be back for more! Highest recommendation.

We like the sushi here but there are ways Mizu can improve. Please don’t wash the floors and scrub benches and tables when you open your doors. You need to do that before you open in the morning, so when your customers sit down, they don’t need to smell mop water being pushed around the floor. The steak teriyaki was among the worst I have ever tried, chewy meat, served lukewarm, just overall bad. Also sometimes there are flies buzzing around, and we have been here a dozen times. Once a fly drowned in my plate in sticky sauce. They kindly remade the dish. So why 4 stars? Their sushi is great. It is fresh, the special rolls are yummy, and we like coming here often despite the occasional fly issues.

Quaint little place with fantastic sushi! Not much room for eating in, only one table inside that seats about 6. There are three outdoor tables which works if the weather is nice. Highly recommend.

I come here so often for take out and dining in that I have to update to 5 stars. My guy and I love their sushi and the waitstaff are so good to us. We’ve lived in town for a couple of years now and this is probably are most frequented spot.

True story: I left my wallet when we ate here yesterday and it was nice that Irene(manager that night) allowed me to go home and back to pay without scorn. That is four stars. Even the waiter was reassuring. I like the vibe of this small sushi place in Cranford. Service is fast without being rushed and the servers are attentive. My date night with my daughter. We always order the most basic things when trying out a new sushi place. She likes miso soup and I prefer clear soup. I noticed that their clear soup had thinly julienned sweet potatoes. This is a good version. We both enjoyed our age tofu with sprinkles of seasoned nori strips and panko? Luv the crunch. California roll and eel avocado roll were not bad. I took the rest of the four pieces home and my son loved it, too. Their green tea is smoky good. Now we have to go back and branch out beyond eel avocado and California roll and also to show them that we’re not in the habit of skipping the bill, lol.

SO good! Just went last night for the first and was not disappointed. It wasn’t too busy and we sat by the window/sidewalk. The sushi options where many and reasonably priced. We finally decided on a mixed tuna/salmon sushi pizza and two specially rolls, all of which tasted great! Our waitress was very nice and never missed a beat on filling out waters and green tea. Definitely coming here again! Oh and it’s BYOB

I came here for lunch one day and all 5 of us ordered their 3 roll lunch combo, served with soup and a salad. I thought it was decent, but nothing spectacular. Fish was fresh but the rolls were kind of bland, and the presentation seemed a little lame. The filled ends were left on all the rolls and they seemed inconsistent from one piece to the next. Since I got a lunch special, I’ll give this place another try for dinner(paying full price this time) hoping for better rolls. Some of the specialty rolls(~$ 13) seemed interesting. Overall the place was clean, and decent if you’re in the mood for some sushi, but nothing special.

I am so glad I had a craving for sushi and came here. Very nice and clean place. Came on a Thursday after work. Ordered the usual for me, kani salad and philadelphia roll. The kani salad was good, could have used a bit more mayo to bind it all together but the texture was perfect. The philadelphia roll was Perfect. The fish tasted super super fresh. The kick on the roll was that there were chives in it. Oh man I can have more right now. Lovely place!

BF and I came here for a lunch date and we were very pleased with the food here. The sushi is very good and fresh for the price point. I ordered the American dream specialty roll(Shrimp tempura with spicy kani on top) a California roll and a chicken teriyaki lunch. The BF ordered the tri colored sushi. No complaints regarding anything and we both thought the food was very good. Highly recommend this place

Great food and friendly service! Everything is good here. Cranford is not really our area, so we asked the Unilocal to show us somewhere fresh, yammy and ethnic. This is a great place for Japanese food, without the price of a fancy sushi place. Clean and cute atmosphere!!! This place is unbelievable. My Seafood Soup and Black Cod were pretty good, but I don’t think they were the best I’ve ever had. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and tasty. Great authentic food and even more amazing service. Friendly staff! Waiter was polite and funny, which makes for a wonderful dining experience. Could eat here twice a week! I have to return soon to try few other items on the menu! Solid 4 star for you Mizu Sushi!

Stopped here during my lunch break since I was in the mood for sushi. There’s a parking lot around the corner in case you can’t find a spot on the street. I was promptly greeted and seated by the door near the window. The restaurant is not large, but it’s not too small either. There is a sushi bar with a few seats. I had the lunch special of kampyo and avocado rolls with miso soup and a salad for $ 8.56… good deal! The rolls weren’t anything fancy or spectacular but they satiated my hunger. I was bummed that they couldn’t make the rolls without seaweed, but oh well. Wouldn’t mind coming here again for lunch again. Nice place.

Working so close to this restaurant, i’m surprised that i haven’t tried it sooner. Walked over to pick up some lunch earlier this week. Ordered 3 rolls, Salmon Avocado, Tuna Cucumber, and yellowfin with scallions. The meal came with a small salad, and a small miso soup. Soup was decent. Salad was good. Mixture of romaine and baby greens, a little shredded cabbage, along with a cherry tomato and a few slices of cucumber. It also came with some carrot ginger dressing, which i really enjoyed. Many places, the dressing is too sweet. here you could really taste the ginger… had a nice kick to it. The maki rolls were also decent. Overall, a great value for the buck. the 3 rolls with the soup and salad were only $ 11(Lunch special).
