While in the area, my husband and I were doing errands rather early in the day and decided to stop for breakfast and there was Athena’s. Lovely, clean and busy establishment with wonderful servers who offer smiles and willingness to please. My husband decided he was going to indulge in the stack of three pancakes which were huge and very good. I am a basic breakfast person and ordered eggs over medium well which were a cooked a little over medium well, but were ok. The cooked sliced apples I chose as my side were plentiful and very healthy. Next time we are in the area, we’ll try some other items on the menu!

Awesome breakfast/brunch spot. Service was excellent, prices were mediocre, and food came out quickly with no issues. Def will come back to try out more options on the menu!

Best breakfast place ever !!! the staff is super friendly and super Cranston which makes me feel at home. the place is pretty big and we didn’t wait at all at 11 on a Saturday for 4 people. I got the cinnamon roll French toast and it was amazing. All of my friends food was great too. Totally coming back!

I have been to Athena’s for breakfast quit a few times. However, after today, The five star rating by me has been earned. I came here feeling extremely hungry for a hearty breakfast and left here with a full belly and a smile. My wait for a Sunday around 10:00 was only about 10 minutes. I will say that I have waited much longer, like 30 – 40 minutes longer, on a weekend morning here. Seating is usually first come, first serve/seat yourself type of thing. Although, today there was a sign that asked you to wait to be seated by the hostess, so maybe that is changing. Either way, they are worth the wait. The restaurant is rather small but they have made very good use of the space! Our waitress was Brenda and she was awesome! Her personality was fun and sweet. She was very good about making sure we had everything we needed but not overly attentive, which for me that is a good thing because it can become very bothersome when someone is checking in every ten minutes. Breakfast was served pretty quickly and everything was exactly as it should be. Home fries were crunchy and delicious, my veggie omelette was cooked to perfection and even the French toast that my daughter ordered was bursting with flavor. I don’t recall ever coming here and having to send an order back or disliking anything I’ve eaten. The portions are very generous, so you will probably want to ask for a take home box. I look forward to the next time I stop in for breakfast. You

Awesome place to eat, very friendly service. Everyone is super nice and service even when packed is still fast. Sad I didn’t come sooner since I’m leaving tomorrow! Next time I come to Rhode Island, this will be one of my first stops. By the way all the food was great!!! We had four different meals. And the prices are so reasonable. Only reason why I didn’t leave five stars is because I was really hoping for our cups to not be empty during the meal, but in their defense they are extremely busy today.

Great breakfast place. Ive been wanting to come here for awhile after hearing good things about it and finally had the chance. I regret i forgot to take a picture of our meal. We shared the #7 and still had leftovers. The portions especially the pancakes were huge… and good quality as well. I saw a lot of other things on the menu that i want to try so we will definitely be back. Service was also good. The food came out super fast. We were in and out in 45 min.

When everything is so great and you never have time to write a review — great food, great portions great prices and no matter how busy it is great service. How can you beat that?

This is a sweet little place that is really a lot larger on the inside than it’s strip mall storefront makes it seem. The service is fast and friendly. The omelettes are a huge and delicious mess of scrambled ingredients folded over with melted cheese in the middle. My spinach and cheese was chock full of fresh baby spinach. I loved it. Their whole menu seems unique and creative without being too offbeat. While my boyfriend and I were eating, a man walked out a tray of what might be the largest muffins I’ve seen in a long time! I want to go back and try one!

All those reviews suggesting that Athena’s has the best omelets in Cranston are no joke. They’re not only good, they’re big enough to clog a wood chipper. For less than the cost of some other joints(the English Muffin, the Elmwood Diner, even JP Spoonems), you can come in starving, and walk out fully sated. Also, they have muffins the size of a softball. Madness! Food quality? Good. Service? Good. Location? It’s in a strip mall, but don’t front — it’s Cranston, for chrissakes. For bonus value, get in early, and listen the locals read the ProJo and discuss the news and issues of the day. It’s the most Cranston breakfast place ever. EVER.

It took a long time to get service and a long wait to get our drinks… We orderd to share two eggs, sausages, baccon, pancakes, home fries, ham, and toast… The homefries were brunt and smoshey and did nnot look appetizing at all yet surprisingly the pancake was amasing… Our waitress had an amazing personality yet she did not reaturn when she said she would

By far Athena’s has the best omelet in town. It is served fresh and hot with tons of delicious home fried potatoes. The wait staff is always so willing to help even when crazy busy. Their coffee is bottomless and delicious and the specials are always interesting and delicious as well. I highly recommend them! Five stars all the way!!! If I have any criticism it is that the wait area is very small and Sundays are always crazy in there. Plus the décor/drab gray walls are kind of depressing. But other than that Athena’s is my favorite breakfast spot, no questions asked.

This place is pure(or should I say«pyuh») Cranston. The waitresses have thick accents, the post-Mass crowd on Sunday is out in droves, and it has that quintessential mid-century-ethnic suburban feel. The food is more interesting than standard diner-breakfast fare with options like bananas foster French toast and cheesecake pancakes. Servings are huge so consider sharing or ordering just one. I had a waffle with strawberries and a side of home fries. They were tasty. Coffee was bottomless and perfectly serviceable. If you want that authentic Cranston experience come to Athener’s.

This place is great, the food is always good and the people are nice. Everything I have tried has been good, never had a bad meal. I love coffee, so I really like the fact that they use big cups and you don’t have to keep asking the server for a refill. I wish other places were like this.

Breakfast heaven! So many choices and all sound so delicious! It was my first time trying this place based on a recommendation from a friend(her second time). I ordered the sweet bread French toast and she ordered the monkey bread French toast. The portions are huge — 5 slices! We also shared a side of the hash brown potatoes which was a perfect salty compliment to our sweet breakfast entrees. I was only able to finish half of the French toast and ended up eating the second half the next morning and it was still very good! I will definitely be coming back to try something else off the menu.

Used to like this place. Became very dirty, had to sit in dirty booths before it was cleaned, found pieces of plastic in my food and when bought to the servers attention she said it was a food wrapper. Did not apologize or take t off the bill. Do not like chewing on plastic that who knows how many people handled! I will never go back. Harriet’s and T’s are much better.

First time coming here… didn’t like how we have to sit ourselves. Ordered French toast and I loved how it came with fresh strawberries. Everything was delicious! Will be back.

You have to seat yourself… but if all tables are dirty where do you sit? hummm… I believe this restaurant has some hiring to do!

Wow! The portion size is incredible. Sure, it’s only two pancakes but they’re the size of a plate… Each! Seat yourself, very prompt and quick to refill your coffee. Prices were reasonable and even a little lower than I expected with the amount you got.

Hearty portions Friendly staff Fair prices Breakfast here is pretty standard fare — not a lot of flare or bold flavors, but they do have their own take on the offerings, at least. There was also a decently-full Specials board that looked like it incorporated more seasonal ingredients than the regular menu — I’ll likely try one of those next time. Prices are very fair(a quality, filling breakfast was ~$ 17 for two), as meal portions are very hearty, and they don’t skimp on ingredients. Service was relatively fast, and coffee refills were frequent, which I always appreciate. Our server was extremely friendly and accommodating of young kids. The atmosphere is sort of straightforward«convenience breakfast» more than anything, and so not really remarkable. Our wait for a table of four was about 4 – 5 minutes at 11:30 on a Sunday morning, as people were cycling in and out pretty steadily. Parking in the shopping center lot was readily available despite a full crowd. This is a solid 3+ and deserves further visits — I’ll be back.
