This place smells bad. The people that come here are all lounge lizards that smell like my balls after a long weekend of no showering. Kinda like sour milk meets an old fish.

The owners of this bar are EXTREMELY rude! Went on New Years Eve. Saw one of the owners in there and was a upset with them as I have been checking in with them for over a year for a dj position and they have kept putting me off. I made 2 demo dvd’s of the music I play(videos mixed live) they have NEVER seen the dvds, she told me that they have had djs working for them that are more qualified than me. All of the dj’s are in their 20’s. I have had 37 years in the business! They still have my demo dvd’s, won’t give them back. Then she said«take your businness elsewhere bitch». I have 37 years in the San Francisco Bay Area as a dj and yet she claims her dj’s are more qualified. Avoid this place… the dj doesn’t have any idea of how a dj mixes music or videos, they find songs or videos through You Tube, doesn’t mix, has dead air between each song. BUT! remember, they are more qualified than I am. Also saw quite a lot of minors in the club. Have heard about protecting your drinks as things can be added to them and frequent fights breaking out there!!! They play music from the 70’s, 80’s and rock n roll. Nothing but rednecks!

Came to the mountains for a quick weekend get-away, and had so much fun, mainly because of this place! We brought our little 18pd dog, and sat on the back deck, the locals were so fun & hilarious. The Stella on tap was excellent, and you can’t beat $ 10 for a pitcher, along with nice clean mountain air, tall pretty trees to look at, and awesome locals that were very welcoming. Love this place, we’ll be back!

My friend and I were up visiting family in the area and decided to stop in for a drink, we were there in the late afternoon and met some awesome regulars who made us feel right at home. We went back Sarurday night for karaōke and met some more awesome people. The bouncer was extremely nice as was the bartender. Typical local bar with local people, made it so much more fun. Prices during the day seemed less than the evening, but all in all it was a great time.

Great little small town bar. Perfect place to meet up with friends for a drink or two. Locals are sure to keep you laughing. The Bear Claw has an Internet jukebox which makes the music ever changing. Bar tenders very nice and accomdating. If they know what you drink it will be ready fo r you practically before you can sit down. There is a nice enclosed patio where you can sit and smell the fresh mountain air. No trip to Crestline or Lake Gregory is complete without a visit to the Claw.

Don’t recommend this place, if you do be careful and watch your drink, because I have heard lots of stories of unattended drinks, the bartenders are rude and bouncers too !

Great little bar! A little intimidatingly when you first enter but that lasts for about 5 seconds. We went on a Saturday and Sunday night and had a blast both nights. The owners we so welcoming and the prices were great! We will definitely go back when we visit Crestline again!

Went back again to meet up with a couple friends. It was less intimidating this time and I think I started to appreciate the characters around. I played pool on the impossible pool table and had conversations with friendly people. Sang Queen songs really loud, and a man even bought a round for the whole bar. Somehow the boyfriend and I only spent $ 14 for an entire night. Amazing.

The new owners had a bar down in LA called Residuals that was and still is amazing, and now they’ve got this one. Just had to come up for a drink. Great spot.

The bear claw saloon took a huge DUMP with the new owners. They removed the dollar bills from the walls which really gave the place some personality. They played a lot of 80s music which I like but NOONE danced. They did not play enough contemporary dance music. The place is usually PACKED on a holiday weekend. Tonight(Saturday labor day weekend) it was NOT.

When I moved to the mountain 5 years ago from Venice Beach, I had zero friends up here. One night, I decided to walk into The Bear Claw. I met one of my best friends that day, Sandra West who was the bartender and is still a best friend, and 2 years later I met my husband Daryl there, and we now have 11⁄2 year old baby. The Bear Claw is more than a bar to me, it is a family. I have had some of the best times of my life there and I have dozens of friends that I met there that have become like family. Always a great music, great prices and great service. I LOVETHISBAR.

Great place to go for a drink. During the day much more quite. Nights are eventful with karaōke and Dj’s. The crowd is very diverse. The employees are attentive and very friendly. If you are not ready for a good time this place is not for you. Happy hour and drink specials get you hooked and the employees and crowd keep you coming back. Always something to catch your attention with contests or the many events. The weekends and holidays bring twice the amount of people. you walk in as a customer and walk out as a friend.

This bar has been a local favorite for so long, and it’s a great place to go unwind with cool people. The bartenders are amazing and you just feel so welcome when you walk in the door. The outside patio is one thing that makes it the best bar in Crestline. Highly recommend it to everyone.

When I first moved to the mountain I knew nobody. I ventured out one night and found the bear claw saloon. No sooner than I walked through the door were people talking to me and making me feel welcome. The bear claw has been a great place to meet people, catch up with old friends sing some karaōke and always have a great time. Great bartenders, barbacks, djs, and door guys!

My favorite bar! Great service! Great drinks at a great price! Karaōke every Friday and Saturday night until 11. Highly recommend it. I can always find friends. The epitome if a local bar that caters to vacationers and tourist just as well.

I moved up to Crestline almost three years ago. I went to «The Claw» the first night I was here… loved it from day one! Lot’s of good people… friendly bartender Debbie made me feel right at home! Tracy and Mustang Sally on the bar was the highlight! I knew right then that this was my bar! I’ve made a lot of good people there that I now call friend! Good luck to Gary & Carol with their continued success!

This is a great local bar to go to in Crestline. You get to see all the locals here as well as karaōke most evenings. The drinks are good and prices fair. This is usually a must stop when we bring family or friends up to Crestline.

If you are looking for a place similiar to the show«Cheers» — this is as good as it gets! The prices are competitive, the drinks are worth the price, they remember your unique preferences each time you come in, and they honestly do remember your name. The regulars are more like one big family than establishment regulars. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming and the weekends feature a fantastic Karaōke crowd! Every legal age group is represented and welcome! It has quickly become one of my favorite spots!

The Bear Claw can be pretty rowdy at night! They serve beer in a handful of flavours, and are jam-packed on anything remotely resembling a holiday weekend. Judging from the many nights i’ve been here, a fight breaks out about 20% of the time… not bad, if you’re into that sort of thing. Last night, someone got really pissed at himself and decided to throw his fist through the window. Golly. The prices here are decent(compared to Los Angeles), but don’t expect a lot of variety. The barkeep(s) are usually rather overworked, so don’t expect prompt service either. There is a lively karaōke scene here, but you just have to find Tracy and ask him yourself… it’s nothing official or advertised. Try to get him to play Kelly’s «Shoes» again!(You’ll have to bring your own CD.) Amenities: 1 pool table, ~20 barside stools, video poker, karaōke on most nights, outdoor smoking area with several benches and a small tent for the rain, and a 7 – 11 across the street. Extra star: Stuffed coyote wearing shades and mardi gras beads.
