I was really put off by how run down and kind of gross it felt. Very cold inside. I waited behind an empty counter for about 10 minutes for someone to come help me. I had a pulled pork sandwichZ the meat itself was very good. I did not care for the sauce at all. It was $ 8 for the sandwich and a drink. All things considered, I probably won’t be back.

Wow!!! This place is great, we ordered several different items and they were all wonderful. I will be eating there again really soon. Try the ribs, they fall off the bone

I was recommended to this place by a local. When I walked in I was a bit let down by how dilapidated the place was. But nevertheless it’s always a hole in a wall place that has the best food. So I braved on to be pleasantly surprised. I’ve stopped at various bbq places from CA to KY which included stops in TX, OK, and other states known for bbq’s. Well I gotta say the food is great here. My daughter who’s a very picky eater didn’t have much of appetite going in. She ended up taking my sandwich and finished it. The brisket was amazing also. I will see definitely return again highly recommend others to try this place.

I have eaten BBQ all over America including Louisville and Lexington. This place ranks right up there with the best brisket places I have eaten. When I first tried it I thought the sweet sauce would overwhelm or distract from the taste of the brisket but was pleasantly surprised it enhanced the flavor of the sandwich overall. Their cherry smoked ribs are excellent. Not the best Ive ever had but certainly rank up there with the other ribs Louisville has to offer. Their sides to include their potatoes and green beans are excellent as well. Great BBQ, friendly people. So if you’re looking for excellent brisket go here.

Everything about this place was excellent. The atmosphere is completely relaxed, I felt like I was eating in my living room — especially since the restaurant is in an old house. The staff, all young men who looked to be HS aged, were incredibly polite and attentive. And the food was outstanding. The pulled chicken was great, but I’d go backed for the greens and mac & cheese any day.

First visit. The steady stream of customers outweighs the unassuming location. The brisket was moist, tender and full of flavor. Ask for the sauce on the side so that the wonderful flavor isn’t overpowered. The home fired potatoes were fabulous. The staff is friendly and attentive offering samples of the sides if you wish. It definitely merits a return visit.

I really like this place. It’s never busy and there is a big room in the back were we can bring the kids(3 ½, and 2). The pulled pork is great and the sides are it bad. I’m a big rib lover and their cherry smoked ribs are not very good. At least they were not the one time I got them. Regardless, this place is still very good and will continue to be are bbq destination.

I love BBQ and this BBQ was very good! Locals that get it right and treat you right as well. Only complaint would be that I could have had a slightly larger portion of the sides! And some Texas Toast would have been a nice addition.

Texican Barbecue is some of THEBESTEVER! The people are friendly and the food is consistently perfect! I’ve had the beef, pork and chicken and all are scrumptious. It’s a small, older place but clean.

Tried the pulled pork sandwich with two sides and a drink. Just over $ 10. The place is kinda divey and could benefit from a new menu board. Otherwise friendly, fast service during a late lunch. Pork was TENDER and flavorful. My only complaint would be that it, the mac and cheese and the restaurant itself could have been warmer. It’s in a old house with a couple rooms. Order at the counter, pay, self-serve drinks and seat yourself. They’ll bring you your food. They participate in SpotOn.

We carry out from Texacan’s on a regular basis so I guess I had come to take the place for granted. That is until last week when I picked up 2 family size meals to take to a neighbor who had a death in the family. The neighbor contacted me later to find out where the great BBQ came from. They were huge fans of the chicken. I am, personally, a fan of the pulled pork while my husband loves the brisket. All the offerings were tender, smokey, and juicy especially when drizzled with their sauce. I am not a big fan of the side dishes. The potato salad, baked beans, green beans, and cinnamon apples are what you might expect but nothing out of the ordinary.

Tried the pulled pork and cole slaw. I can’t wait to try the brisket next. We got it To go and was out of there in about 5 minutes. I’d rank the pork as a top 5.

The brisket sandwich was just ok. If it hadn’t been called brisket I would have thought it was roast beef with cheap barbecue sauce on it. The potato salad was decent – very similar to the kind they have at Mark’s Feed Store. The mac and cheese tasted like it came from a blue box.

Great local BBQ joint in Crestwood. The restaurant is very cute and clean, the service is great, and the food is delicious! I wish they serve corn-on-the-cob, though. The greens are on the salty side, otherwise, really good place to go for BBQ!

I’m a huge fan of Texas BBQ, especially brisket and was excited to give this a try. Sadly it comes up waaaayyyy short of real TX brisket like Franklin or Pecan Lodge. The brisket was dry and didn’t really have much flavor. I had to eat with my hands because my table knife couldn’t cut it and had almost no bark. Young kid working had no idea how long the brisket was smoked or what wood they use because he does the ribs. The owners named it Texican because they supposedly moved here from TX after«mastering» BBQ living in TX. I have to disagree.

HANDSDOWN! The best BBQ anywhere around. No doubt in my mind! Ribs and chicken are amazing. Awesome sauce. Another great thing about Texicans is that they have great sides. Potatoe salad and fried potatoes. Just do yourself a favor, forget anywhere else and give these great local people a try.

I really like this place. It’s really solid BBQ. I love the pulled pork and the sausage but my favorite has to be the cherry ribs. You can really taste the cherry. It’s just a hint but its a nice change from the standard hickory. Nice selection of sides as well. The staff is always great and I always leave happy. If you like BBQ, this place is definitely a must try.

Decided to stop in for a take out order to enjoy at home with friends. The pulled pork is delicious and reasonably priced. The selection of sides is very good especially the mac and cheese. Looking forward to going back and eat in so we can try the brisket as soon as possible.

I received a buy one get one free deal, so I took my ROMEO(retired old men eating organization) Club out for lunch. Everyone enjoyed the meals. We all wondered why we hadn’t been there sooner.

We tried this out last weekend. The meat was very good. Tender and delicious. The sauce was grocery-story quality. We liked our sides(baked beans, fried onions and potatoes, greens). The brownie was good, peach cobbler had good peaches, but not good cobbler. The cookies tasted like liquid smoke. We’ll go back, but wish the sauce was better.
