Sad but true this place has gone downhill. They did a remodel taking out a wall but the cheap laminate flooring is actually buckling and coming up in places as well as being sticky and gross. Sadly laminate is not a good thing to have on restaurant floors that get wet and thing spilled on them. I have been a few times this year and it keeps getting worse. Sadly the last steak I had was so bad it had a tangy taste. At first I thought it was good and different until I realized it was on the edge of being spoiled and actually tasted like a steak on its last leg. The waitress asked me how it was and at the time I said fine. I should have known something was wrong when I heard her mutter to herself, ‘oh good’. The burgers are okay but no one does seem to care. The workers were in the bar that afternoon cussing up a storm. One other time we were there recently for a happy hour and the owner brought out their signature salsa and chips. The salsa was sweet like candy. We had all asked the owner why it was sweet and his answer was, ‘its homemade and its the cilantro and lime juice. Isn’t it awesome?” No it wasn’t. You know I always thought the people who owned restaurants and had no clue on Restaurant Impossible were made up and no one could really be that out of touch but the owner here seems to be. He could have a great place. It used to be but they need help now. Food on the edge of being spoiled, staff with no clue on customer service and proper behavior when there are customers and an owner who thinks something is good that just plain isn’t. Oh and a staff with uniforms would certainly help. I think its time to either ask for help or let a dead horse die. How could a half way decent place get so bad so fast?

Gas House Grill is an average sports grill. TVs all over, a bar on one side, and sports memorabilia covering the walls. The service is pretty good, especially since the place is rarely busy. The food choices are very diverse. My favorites are the bacon cheeseburger and the pulled pork sandwich. The pulled pork includes shredded pork, cheese, BBQ sauce, and onion strings. It is possibly the best pulled pork sandwich in St. Louis. The restaurant used to have $ 2 Mondays: $ 2 burgers and $ 2 fries. The deal went away because of the rising price of beef, which is understandable, although a bit disappointing. Overall, if you’re in the area and need a quick place to eat, stop by. The food’s pretty darn good, and that’s really all a restaurant needs to get a good review from me. Interior– 3⁄5 Food– 4.5÷5 Service– 4⁄5 OVERALL– 4⁄5

My dad and his girlfriend went here two nights ago. He said they were on a time crunch and it took them 45 minutes to get their food. He said he had to ask for another beer three times and then the girl finally brought it to them. He didn’t even eat his steak he took it home because he was so disappointed. He said the place definitely changed within the last year.

Good food. Great service. Management was wonderful. The atmosphere was exactly what you’d expect from a place like this. We’ll go back.

Food is good, decent selection. Service stinks. We even left once when we walked in and just stood there. Not one employee acknowledged we were there or attempted to seat us.

This restaurant used to have great service … Something has gone seriously wrong. The last 2 times we have been there, we have had the same server. Tonight we found out — he is the manager! I am appalled at the lack of quality service & after tonight’s experience, we have no need to go back there again. 1 — servers — no one looks as if they have any interest in being at work. There is no uniform & all servers look really sloppy. Poor, awful customer service. 2 — food — the food is good; that is what had us going back. Great fried pickles, good burger — but when it is being served to you by someone who just tosses plates on the table, then sits with their BACK to you at the bar — not worth it! Tonight, after receiving seriously poor service, the bill was wrong. I asked him to review the check before paid & he had serious attitude. Bill was corrected, however, he chose to write a sassy note on the tip line. He wrote«your kindness is enough». I cannot tell you how offended i was by this. My husband asked him what he meant by it, and he said it was self explanatory. In a day in age where there are thousands of restaurants to choose from this type of service is unacceptable. Let me tell you, it’s not worth your time.

It was alright, a little lack luster inside. Ordered the nacho app, and it was delicious! Had the firework burger, and it was just ok, nothing spectacular.

We waited over 45 minutes for burgers. I even had to go to the bar to get a soda refill. It’ll be one and done for us, and it wasn’t even busy there was only two tables at the time.

This is the second time I’ve been to the Gas House. The first time I had the chicken tenders, which were pretty standard. This visit there was a deal going on for a smaller $ 2 burger, and numerous discounted appetizers listed on a board out front. Ever the frugal one, I went with said cheap burger, and found it to be forgettably average… like my mom had made it. It had a toasted bun, decent sized slightly-overcooked beef patty, tomato, lettuce. All told, it was certainly $ 2 a lot better spent than at any fast food place, but I regretted not going just going for one of the more expensive — and probably more flavorful — burgers I had been eyeing in the menu. Service was pretty good. Whenever we go out with my girlfriend’s family, if it is possible, we sit out of doors because her mother smokes. My girlfriend’s mother was a bit disgusted by the ashtray provided because it was dirty(had ashes smeared in it), but I don’t really personally know how much that matters since… you know… you’re smoking. But just as an FYI, if you’re a smoker, you *might* get a dirty ashtray. If that’s important. The fried pickles were delicious, as were the sweet potato fries, but because each of them were being offered for $ 2 as well, the portion size wouldn’t really appropriately be labeled an appetizer for several people; it was more like they were just offering a «buy a smaller version of the appetizer you want for $ 2» which isn’t really a special and which was rather irritating once the plates came out and we realized. Still, that one is on us for not asking whether they were mini-appetizers or a good deal. Next time we go, I’ll make sure that any deal is actually a deal. And I’ll not be so cheap; my girlfriend’s mother got their cod sandwich, and even as someone that seldom eats fish, it looked and smelled amazing. Best: The fried pickles are delicious, and our server was polite, and generally quick to refill drinks, despite us being seated in the patio area. Worst: The«deals» weren’t really deals, and our server disappeared around the time we wanted the bill, which led us to wait another ten to fifteen minutes — as one of only 3 tables of customers both inside and out of the restaurant — so that we could pay and leave.

We arrived at noon on a Wednesday for a 1 hour lunch, hoping we would have enough time to enjoy our meal. I’ve seen the restaurant and heard many a good review but had never had time to stop in. We did sit on the patio which may have been our mistake but 1 hour wasn’t enough for the food to be ready. We had a group of 6 and unfortunately it took 45 minutes for our food to arrive. The staff was very pleasant but not in much of a hurry. I was pleasantly surprised by the size and selection of the menu. I ordered the Reuben sandwich and it was very good. The bread had just the right amount of crisp and the sauerkraut was juicy and had good flavor as well. Unfortunately our food arrived at 1pm which made us late for our afternoon meetings. The quality of the food is what bumped my experience to 3 stars. That being said if I wasn’t in a hurry I’m sure I would have enjoyed my visit more. The service unfortunately was just too slow. New cooks was the excuse we received. If I am back in the area, wouldn’t mind trying it once more.

Food arrived hot and was very good. Wait staff friendly, well-groomed and attentive. And they served Guinness, automatically earning extra points! Coffee was smooth and they had real half and half! Will definitely return

Boy, this place is like a different world when the owner isn’t around. The beer was still cold, the food was decent, the bartender did an ok job. The overwhelming stench of pot coming from the kitchen or back room wasn’t so great. I got a little woozy just walking past on the way to the bathroom. Their jukebox selections(not coming from patrons, nobody put money in) included such crude and exceedingly graphic songs such as «The Weenie Ride». Yeah. THAT kind of «ride». spelled out in explicit, graphic detail. The hit list just kept going on. Sad, Gas House is no longer somewhere I’d recommend bringing the family!

On Super Bowl evening, we were the only patrons in the house. Specials were chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken and tomato-basil soup. We shared an order of fried shrimp that came with a lovely ketchup-horseradish sauce. She got a pulled pork sandwich and fries. I got a Reuben with cottage cheese. Both sandwiches were tasty. The Reuben was stacked with corned beef and plenty of sauerkraut. Service was A-OK. I had a hefty to-go vessel for another meal.

My husband and I went to Gas House Grill for lunch. We ordered a «pick 3» appetizer plate with fried pickles, toasted ravioli, and potato skins. They also throw in onion straws. My husband said the fried pickles were delicious. I loved the toasted ravioli. The potato skins were good… nothing special. For our entrees, my husband ordered the cajun chicken philly with coleslaw and I had the BBQ pork sandwich with homemade chips. The hubs loved his sandwich. He said the coleslaw tasted house-made and really had a good flavor. The BBQ pork sandwich was good. There was a few too many onion straws and not quite enough pork, but it was good. The homemade chips were amazing! Of course I’m a sucker for homemade chips. Overall, the food was great! The service was a little slow, but very friendly. We did show up around 1pm. We only saw one waitress the whole time. The atmosphere is nice. It was pretty quite. Overall, it was a win and we will probably be going back!

This is the first time I am giving 3 stars even though I actually didn’t like any of my food. I ordered the nachos which were, essentially, the worst nachos I ever had. The cheese was not melted at all so I would pick up a chip and all the cheese shreds would just roll off. Other than that, there was lettuce, a few black olives, a few black beans and a few jalapenos. And then there was a side of sour cream, a side of disgustingly sweet salsa and a side of meaty chili which I couldn’t eat. $ 7.99 down the drain. I also ordered the ‘regular’ order of fried pickle chips for $ 3.99. To their credit, the ‘regular’ order was enormous. However, it was S A L T Y. And I love salt. This was like they had chipped off pieces of salt from a salt block, breaded them, fried them and then sprinkled them with pickle juice. It was almost like they were playing a joke on me. A very salty joke. I’m pretty sure I have high blood pressure now. Oh, and the Coke was pretty flat. HOWEVER. The service was very nice and the menu is large with a wide variety of things and I would like to give this place another try. They have pizza and they have some AMAZING sounding«buffalo cheese sticks» that are on the menu… I believe they were described as pepperjack and bleu cheese dipped in buffalo sauce, coated and fried in beer batter. Sounds like fried cheese taken to a whole new gluttonous level. *Fingers crossed that the food is better next time and that I don’t expire from salt-induced hypertension before then.*

Gas House is a cute little American food joint/Sports bar located behind the Buffalo Wild Wings right off of Olive Blvd. east of 270. It offers a wide assortment of beers and bar food with a bit of a classier touch. Bison burgers, veggie burgers, turkey burgers, regular burgers… yeah, they have their basis covered. Even though the veggie and turkey burgers are not on the menu, I can appreciate the extra mile for them piecing together something for beyond the typical consumer. Pair the burger of choice with some in-house made chips or sweet potato fries, and you’ve got yourself a good meal. I read over a previous Unilocal review that recommended the bison burger with sweet potato fries, and I opted for that immediately. Sweet potato fries are always on the agenda when offered. Thought they were not the best I’ve had in the world, they still are pretty good. Once again, my believe is ranch dressing can go with anything, these sweet potato fries are no exception. Great for using as dipping sauce! The business has been in around for 7.5 years. The long mural on the wall of the World Series has the dates listed of when the Cardinals went to it. Somewhat out of date, it failed to list the 2006 winning. I mentioned to server they should update it! Haha. She mentioned that even there were some grammatical errors on it, and pointed them out. It was pretty amusing considering this was such a well done mural, and the artist managed to misspell«McGwire» and«Cardinals». When you go, make sure to look for it. For such an elaborate piece, even the simplest mistakes can add to the character. When in Creve Couer, come check it out. This place has as many wide screen tv’s as Buffalo Wild Wings and is just as nice of a sports bar. Settle for the little locally owned restaurant instead of the chain! Enjoy.

Without a doubt the best bison burger I have ever had. Add a monstrous side of sweet potato fries to that and you’ve got one of the best meals in Creve Coeur sitting at your lap. Now all you need is some nice big screen TVs, beer, and the sports game on… oh wait! They have that, too! Appetizers are also great… wings, nachos, t-ravs…just thinking about this place is making me drool. They also have specials every single day for certain meals(including a bison burger day…) and some darn good BBQ! Definitely a must-have in the Creve Coeur area.

We went here for Father’s Day Brunch and the guy cooking behind the buffet table was extremely knowledgeable about food and cooking techniques etc. They had a HUGE variety and the owner was wandering around wishing everyone happy father’s day and thanking everyone for coming in. Hospitality was definitely good. They accommodated 16 people in our group and everything was fresh and delicious. I was very impressed with the spread for being a small joint.

I’ve been to GHG several times for lunch because my office is nearby. I’ve never had a bad experience here. The staff is always very friendly, as is the owner. You can tell that he cares about his business and his customers. The soups, salads and sandwiches are tasty. I really enjoy their French onion soup, which has a very nice flavor. I love their buffalo chicken wrap and their bacon cheeseburger pizza is awesome! One of my coworkers loves their turkey reuben. Sometimes the service can be a tad on the slow side, but maybe that’s just me being hypersensitive because I only get an hour for lunch. However, prices are reasonable(actually, you get a lot of food for the price) and the atmosphere is comfortable. There’s also a nice-size patio for outdoor dining when the weather is warm.

Have been here several times over the past 3 years. It’s a mellow bar for wings and beers. The food has definitely improved in quality and they seem to be updating the place with new flat screen tvs and décor.
