The food is great here, and truly captures the Cajun flavored of New Orleans. The portions are huge(even as a marathon runner, I struggle to finish). The crab legs in particular are awesome. The service is average, as it can sometimes get really slow.

Crab legs are great! Have been there twice now I believe and both times have been great. Only complaint is tonorder more fried pickles as they have always been sold out. Cool atmosphere Friendly service

As Great as It Gets! We went out this past Friday. My daughter really enjoyed her chicken fingers and fries. My wife loved her meal & the Service was Great! I had the Ragin Cajun which was to the best Food I have had in awhile. Keep doing what you are doing! The Food reminded me of my Great Grandma Fannie Rose cookin she use to make who had roots in Norleans! Love the atmosphere and all the SEC Conference memorabilia in the Building… Being a MU Alum… We are true Fans of this Restaurant!

Ordered the crawfish gumbo as appetizer. It tasted like a can of progresso soup. Lack the freshness and the thick rue I’d e Percy in a gumbo. For the entrée I had the Dump. A seafood boil with crab legs, shrimp, allegedly andouille sausage and corn. It taste like they just threw together a bunch of frozen ingredients and heated it up. Part of the corn was still cold. The mixed vegetable looked like frozen vegetable out of a bag. The sausage was more like the grocery store sausage, definitely not an authentic andouille sausage. The«creole seasoning» was just thrown on the food for visual effect. It didn’t add to the flavor. The place had nice atmosphere and other dishes around me look decent. Overall very disappointed with what I had.

Harry, I ordered the Dump Dinner for an entrée, and had Crab Cakes for an appetizer. Although, I have tried everything! Keep it up! My parents love to come here and my mom isn’t incredibly fond of seafood, but loves it at Gulf Shores! Respectfully, Peter Hawkins

The owner responded to me and I appreciate that, but I don’t live in St Louis so it will be hard for me to return I have raised my rating because I thought about it and sense I won’t be back was a little harsh because there are not any that I know of in Texas

Terrible experience for daughters birthday dinner. Food service was slow, water glasses languished empty, 2 out of 5 orders wrong.

This was an amazing place to get food. Bit of a wait but it was just because the place was packed. Staff was friendly. The food was the reason this place deserves 5 stars. Many options for the adventurous and many for those wanting some comfort food. I got the bourbon street meal that had several different things including jambalaya, which was to die for. My husband got blackened mahi mahi tacos which were also very tasty. Overall amazing food with generous portions. Well worth the cost.

Review of BRUNCHONLY. This is probably the best place to go for Cajun food in the area and if I was reviewing lunch or dinner it would be 10 stars but brunch left a little to be desired. I had the oysters eggs Benedict which was supposed to have Cajun holandaise sauce but if there was any, I didn’t see or taste it. The oysters are tender and perfectly cooked but under seasoned and almost seemed like they should be their own dish. The side of potatoes are seasoned well and the portions are generous. If you are going here for weekend brunch, get here early! We were there half an hour before open and by the time they opened there were 25+ people waiting.

My boyfriend and I stopped here a few weeks ago and the food was amazing!!! The red beans and rice and the muffin cornbread is a must have! The service was good as well, we went right before closing and we weren’t rushed, or anything!!! We’ll definitely be back and send family & friends as well!

This place has the feeling of a high end seafood restaurant(i.e. peacemaker) but it’s hard to tell since everything is deep fried, which I guess is the point being a cajun joint? Anyways, I don’t eat oysters but the rest of the group did, and they looked HUGE and I mean they finished it so I guess it was good. The gator bites everyone is raving about were just ok, again it’s deep fried meat with cajun spices, the floor on these is going to be high, but it wouldn’t have made a difference if it was fried chicken or oysters, it’d be the same. I ordered the blue crab melt and it wasn’t very appetizing. It was honestly a mix between mayo, cheese, and crab that had really was an after thought, it’s like the pulp in the orange juice. Décor was fine, mostly food, Joe’s crab shack esqe, customer service was on point, everyone was friendly and accurate. There was a live music act, I think it was Pennsylvania slim or something, but he was closer to the bathroom and we were seated by the door(see exact opposite side of restaurant) and we couldn’t even tell when he finished his set. Outside of that there’s not much else, just disappointment.

This is still one of my favorite places to eat ! The food is always fresh and flavorful. The red beans and rice is much like my grandmothers. The service is always good and helpful. We will be back soon I am sure.

Have been here several times for lunch and supper; always was good. One of our favorite seafood places. The Thursday night New Orleans menu is especially tasty. We had a chance to try Sunday brunch this past weekend, and wow. The bloody mary special got us started off right; it’s nice to have one that’s not covered up in stuff on skewers, as is the recent trend, along with double digit price tags. Just a basic bloody mary, well executed, with a lime slice and an olive for garnish. Well done and only $ 3.00. A pleasant surprise. I really enjoy an eggs benedict; and their versions were great. I had the one with oysters, my wife, with excellent crab cakes. Both done as requested; mine lightly poached, hers firmer and less runny. Both were sided by some tasty potatoes. They have a basic ham version of benedict, too, if seafood isn’t your thing. Service was great; live music a nice touch. A very enjoyable experience.

As a seafood lover I knew that I couldnt go wrong with this sandwich. Lumps of blue crab topped with just the right amount of parm. So unique definitely something worth trying.

Severley overrated, not-so-good at all, faux Cajun/Creole food. You’ll do better at a Red Lobster honestly. The service is OK, the live music is a nice touch and the hush puppies are decent. That is all…

Just got home from dinner at gulf shores. It was my first time there and it was a very good experience overall. Went with a party of four and everyone had a similar experience. I decided to try the ragin cajun platter. The catfish was moist and the batter was crispy. It didn’t have any fishy or muddy taste. The andouille sausage was deliciously hot and just a little blackened. The red beans and rice were AUTHENTIC I really had a vision of Orleans while eating them. I liked everything with the exception of the crab cake. I found it to be pretty dry and tasteless. I might be a little bias since the last crab cakes I ate were in Monterey, CA, and before that in Baltimore. Great family friendly restaurant. This place is hopping. Get there early if you can cause you will be waiting.

I have increased them a star because this is the best place I have found for crab and I didn’t get sat in front of a loud singer. :) The andoille sausage is good. I really enjoyed the bread pudding! I do not have an update on the rest of the cajun options, as I never order it. Mondays are buy 1 pound of crab, get a half pound free. Plan to wait on those evenings… If you wait outside for a table, plan for smokers to join the area. Unhappy time for all fellow asthma peeps. The tables are very small and the booths are really spacious space. Service suffers on busy nights. Any problems were resolved quickly(wrong side for hobby’s entrée, wrong dessert for me, etc.) TLDR: Come for the crab! Sit in the wrong spot and it will be close quarters!
