The waiter, a 40−50ish gentlemen, was excellent. One of the best waiters I’ve had. The salmon was a little dry but decent. Nothing great. The host was nice but their policy in seating sucked. I was sat directly against an ugly wall with screw holes that seemed to once hold a TV. I asked for a better seat in a row of seats that were completely empty. They refused. I said that’s fine. And then a manager came out and asked the host, right in front of me, if «this is the seat he’s not supposed to be in? Everything figured out?» Basically I felt very unwelcome. Then 10min later they seat someone else in the same seat I asked for. Change your lame seating policy.

My husband and I made reservations during our stay at The Double Eagle Hotel and Casino for our special anniversary dinner. The reservations were at 6 pm but since we had eaten a late breakfast we skipped lunch and were starving by 5 pm. We went down to see if they could get us in early and luck was on our side as we were seated immediately. We ordered shrimp cocktail for an appetizer and it was very good. You also start with homemade bread that was to die for. My husband ordered the surf and turf and it was amazing. I was a little jealous after I tasted his filet. I ordered the special which was a new york steak and grilled shrimp. Mine was fabulous also but did not compare to the filet! I had cheesecake for dessert though I could not finish the whole thing because the meals are so much food. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area. It is a little pricy but if you are into gambling and have a players card you can get comps for this restaurant if you earn enough points.

Deserves four and a half stars, but since there’s no half option I’m gonna err in their favor, cause really we had a very nice time and really enjoyed the food. They strongly recommend reservations, But we came by about an hour before they opened and they were able to get us in for opening time(5 o’clock). Entrance to the restaurant is in the Double Eagle Casino, so we were able to kill the hour quite happily with drinks and slot machines. I returned to the restaurant before my friend, but they recognized me without having to ask if we had a reservation or for the name even though I hadn’t been the one to speak with them the first time. They seated me right away and we were given a really nice little corner table. Nice ambience, dimly lit and quiet atmosphere. Elegantly decorated, but disappointed that I had to brush crumbs off the booth seat, particularly knowing we were the first seating of the day. My drink order was immediately taken and bread and butter were brought very promptly. The bread was fantastic. Cloves of freshly roasted garlic were baked right into it. Very yummy. My friend was shown to our table also without having to give his name and his drink order was taken immediately as well. We had crab cakes for our appetizer. I haaaate seafood with a passion, but because I’d never had one and they were pretty I went with it. I did not spit it out, and did infact eat the whole thing. I wouldn’t order it again, cause seafood is still gross, but considering how well I stomached it as a non-seafood eater I would guess they were probably pretty good. I would prefer to see the appetizer menu expanded(or changed) to give an option for those of us who don’t like seafood, and aren’t on a romantic date so aren’t quite comfortable with the germ sharing involved in Stew For Two. For entrees I had the Filet Mignon with Baked Potato(choices were baked potato, wild rice, or roasted red potatoes, and it also comes with a side of asparagus and carrots). I ordered it medium well so they asked if they could butterfly it, which was fine by me, and it arrived cooked perfectly. My friend had the Marbled Pork Chop with Carmalized Apple Glaze, Wild Rice, and of course the Asparagus and Carrots. He was really impressed with it, and particularly enamored with whatever sort of seasoning was used on the rice. For dessert I had the Amarreto Spumoni Cake, and he had some sort of silky chocolate cake that I didn’t catch the name of. He was quite pleased with his chocolate cake and remarked multiple times how good it was. The Spumoni cake made me make a lot of «mmm» noises, which I don’t normally do, but it made my taste buds pretty extraordinarily happy. Service was maybe a little too leisurely. Everyone was so super friendly and everytime someone came by they filled our glasses without having to be asked, we were offered more bread without prompting, and we were brought the dessert tray without having to ask for it, but there were some relatively lengthy periods where no one happened to come by and my glass stayed empty. I’m not sure if they were short staffed or if they were just trying not to make us feel rushed. We were there just short of two hours. There was really lovely instrumental music playing in the background, old classics like Que Sera Sera and Can’t Help Falling In Love With You. That was really pleasant. I do recommend dressing a little classier than if you want to stop into the Double Eagle’s Parrot Dice or Ice Cream Parlor. I’m probably an old fashioned kinda gal, but in this nice of a place I was a little offended at the gentlemen near us wearing shorts and keeping their baseball hats on at the table. It’s not that casual.

What a wonderful surprise! The food and service at this restaurant were terrific and would visit again! Setting was a little sparse and dark, but everything we ordered was prepared to our order and was delicious!
