Crystal was our server. She was great. The manager came to our table, she was great as well. Overall the service was great the food was good and I would come again. Ice cream is definitely something to look forward to!

What is the raison d’etre of a FRIENDLY’s store? ICECREAM. I went there over the weekend to buy a small chocolate chip ice cream cone. I asked for LESS than usual. That’s the way I am. A pleasant young man gave me a nice-sized cone. HOWEVER, the ice cream? It had a FREEZER burn taste. Not fresh. One would be better off buying FRIENDLY’S ice cream in a container from a local supermarket. Aside from the freezer burn taste, the ice cream had no taste. I tossed ½ of the ice cream away. The sugar cone itself was fresh & yummy. Very surprised as I would expect a FRIENDLY’s purveyor to provide the freshest ice cream. But then again, this ISCT. And nothing surprises me anywhere. Still I’m certain people are happy to go to this location for grilled cheese sandwiches and other fare.

I think Friendly’s is making a comeback. Within the past couple of years, this place was disgusting with low quality, overpriced food. BUT, like I said, this place has made a comeback. The inside is immaculate, the food reasonably priced and the staff is pleasant. The food has also improved drastically. This is a great little family restaurant and we will be back.

I’ve been to many Friendly’s and this is definitely my least favorite. This one is pretty run down and workers are definitely not too«friendly». My husband and I have gotten ice cream to go from there twice in the past couple of weeks. The first time my husband’s was wrong(but we didn’t notice until we had gotten home) and the second time mine was wrong. Maybe third time will be a charm?

I have not gone to Friendly’s in years, but saw a coupon for a buy one, get one free breakfast entrée and decided to give it a try. There were not many people there(maybe it was too early), but the service was fast and friendly. Our waitress was an absolute doll. There were customers near us who had been in a few times before(I overheard them say so) and she remembered their orders off the top of her head. I ordered the bacon, egg and cheese supermelt(no tomato) and it was tasty! It would be better if they didn’t use that processed orange cheese, which is why it could not be a 5. I know it’s fast food, but I would pay to upgrade to better cheese! The homefries are deep fried, which is perfect for me, since I like them crispy! My husband made a build your own supermelt, sausage egg and cheese(you can pick from different cheeses on the build your own) and he enjoyed it. They do not have a huge breakfast menu, but they have the basics, and it’s fast and cheap. Most people generally do not think of Friendly’s at breakfast, I definitely recommend giving it a try. And if you call it brunch, it’s totally acceptable to end your meal with ice cream!

I came on a Halloween afternoon. There were only two tables seated. Our waiter/host didn’t seem pleased that I was that we were there. The food came out quickly, and the food was okay. Didn’t get a refill until I asked and he seemed irritated. Oh well, it’s friggin Friendly’s. lol

We come to Friendly’s once in a while when we are just too lazy to cook and want something cheap. Most of the time we order to go or just get ice cream at the takeout window. Sometimes we will dine in. When we do dine in, the wait is not really long. One time it was about twenty minutes and they were fully packed, but it was worth it. Great classic American food at cheap prices. Good selection of ice cream flavors for those who have a serious sweet tooth(hubs for example). I usually get a SuperMelt or a salad and each time I get full, though I do find room for ice cream(you can’t go to Friendly’s and not have ice cream!). Service can be good or bad, depending on who you have. During one of our visits, we had Melissa, and her bubbly personality made our dining time enjoyable. This last time though, we had a girl who was obviously not enjoying her job; no smile, sort of rushing when taking our order, did not even check on us at all. You’ll figure out quickly which one she is if you do happen to dine in. The atmosphere of the restaurant will be noisy. It’s a family restaurant, there will be kids screaming and people whacking the back of your booths. Not an ideal restaurant if you are looking for something relaxing and intimate, like a date(and we went to a Friendly’s for our first date… I do not suggest it). Cheap but good American food, pretty good service most of the time, and ice cream(the most important part of the meal). Can’t beat that.

Mediocre, ok in a pinch. We go because wednesdays they have kids meals for $ 1.99. Service is usually forced(fake smiles). Not what it once was. Needs a renovation, Carpets are filthy.

I still goddamn love Friendly’s but they restructured their menu and got rid of the Buffalo Chicken Salad and that makes me cry and cry. How could you Friendly’s? I thought we –had– something.

I stopped here for lunch on last Saturday the 7th of December. Ordered Chilli and Patty melt. Was friendly greeted. The downside waited ordered but was not in a hurry. Chili yummy. My food was served before I finished my chilli but the management came over and asked if I wanted my food to be on the heat lamp I said yes please. Was very pleased. and happy with that ! Chilli was good and so was the rest of my Patty melt. I wanted to say he manger in charged was wonderful and pleasant .She smiled and went around more then 3 times to other people and asked how things were. Very plus and rare person to find.

I’ve been coming to friendly for 32 years now. It’s alway been a great place to take your family to breakfast lunch or dinner. It’s not overly expensive to eat there so you wallet won’t take a huge hit ether. I sagest this place if you want to go outof the house for a meal with your family or friends.

This restaurant has improved over time; service is faster and food is less skimpy than in the past. I still think the prices are a bit high — $ 30 for dinner and ice cream, which still is a bit skimpy. I won’t avoid Friendy’s like I used to but here are plenty of good choices in that area.

Peanut Butter Cup Sundae is my favorite ice cream on the Planet!!! Great sandwiches and melts. Bajillion times better than that place that starts with a D and rhymes with pennies.

Friendly’s is my jam. Haters to the left. Probably my favorite of the restaurant chains. Ruby Tuesdays and TGI Fridays aint got nothing on Friendly’s. Ice cream or GTFO. They still make you a cone head if you ask(I liked to substitute the reeses pieces for gummy bears). Back in the good old days, before I hit late 20s and my metabolism started to slow, I would happily dine on Reuben sandwiches and the grilled cheese and even that double-down like sandwich with the burger between two grilled cheeses and a strawberry fribble guilt free… alas now I feel a certain level of guilt. But thats okay. Sometimes you just gotta do it up. Heart Friendly’s. And this location is always nice and quick on the service.

After coming back north for a visit and finding out that Friendly’s has been seeing hard times and closing stores left and right, I had to take this trip, a bit out of my way, to Cromwell to visit Friendly’s. Friendly’s will always hold a special place in my heart, even though the food may not be the best. I still love it! I grew up going to Friendly’s. The service was very quick and friendly, my patty melt was a delight, and my Hunka Chunka Peanut Butter Fudge sundae sure warmed the cockles of my heart on that cold and rainy day yesterday. I sure hope that the Friendly’s chain pulls itself together and doesn’t close all of the restaurants.

The service here is usually pretty good, especially for a Friendly’s. The food is standard Friendly’s food. I guess the people in Cromwell and Middletown like their Friendly’s food because while stores are closing left and right, there are two Friendly’s restaurants open only a few miles apart from one another. One morning we went there for breakfast, and I needed to sub broccoli for the home fried potatoes. They did, but it cost an extra $ 2.99… which seemed excessive. We were joking that maybe they had to grow the broccoli in their green house out back, pay the guy to boil the water, pay the other guy to not watch the pot so the water would boil… Yeah, we’re funny. The breakfasts here are pretty good, but NOT healthy! I have to watch my carbs at the moment, and for someone like me who doesn’t like eggs, I have trouble finding something I can safely eat in the parameters of my diet. The pancakes, when I could have them, were awesome. :) I’d be really sad to see this location close. I hope they’re able to keep this one open through all their fiancial troubles.

This Friendly’s is in a lot on the north side of Berlin Road. I have to confess that I go to Friendly’s expecting sub-par service, so it was a surprise that our party got pretty good service. It looks like Friendly’s is also starting to cater to the cash-strapped by offering recession specials, i.e. their $ 5 meals. Anyway, I had the New England fish and chips platter this time and I had no complaints about the food.
